The hotel room was cosy and warm. It was something I was use to though. 90% of blokes I go back with take me to hotel rooms. Most of them are married so they can't turn up at their family home with a prostitute following behind. Plus women are switched on. Their wives would know in an instant another woman has been lying in her place. A loose strand of hair, a whiff of a perfume that isn't her own. No, I knew to steer clear of married men's homes.

"Would you like a glass of water?" I broke away from my thoughts at the sound of Andrew's voice. I nodded as I perched myself on the end of the bed. Andrew handed me the glass of water and sat down beside me. I was starting to feel a little bit more sober, a headache was now setting in. I looked around, the room was quite big. There was a double bed, which myself and Andrew were sat on. A single bed in the corner with a bed side table and a small lamp.

"Let's hope your mate doesn't bring a girl back" I mentioned, as I nodded towards the single bed.

"Probably not" Andrew laughed, "Daniel is all talk. Likes to think he has a way with the ladies, but he usually screws up at some point. He lacks charisma"

"And you?" I queried.

"Am I lucky with the ladies?" Andrew questioned. I nodded, "Well, no not really. I'm quite awkward. I tend to say things I'm not supposed to" He paused, "The only reason I'm speaking to you right now if because I'm piled with a a range of different alcohols. If I were sober I would of never of spoken to you. Just admired you from afar"

"Alcohol gives you a false sense of security. It's why I always get drunk before working the streets, gives me confidence and blocks out all the sober feelings. It stops me feeling anything at all" I realised I was thinking out aloud, "I wanted to go to university. Have a good education and get myself a good job. I guess I've just come off track"

"Yeah but you can get yourself back on track" Andrew rested back on the headboard of the bed and I moved up the bed to join him, "You could be something great Amanda, you just don't know it yet"

I shrugged, "Maybe" I commented, "I wanted to be a teacher, but that's been flushed away. No one is going to hire a prostitute as a teacher"

"Run away. Start a fresh" Andrew suggested. Suddenly there was a loud bang on the door. I jumped nearly dropping my glass of water.

"Open the door!" A male's voice bellowed from outside the room

I jumped up out of bed. "Hello?" I called out.

"It's the police. Open the door now" The voice shouted again. For moment I thought it was one of the boys trying to be funny, but it was definitely not one of their voices. I glanced over at Amanda who looked worried.

"There after me" She whispered to me as she got up off the bed, "I have to go"

"Wait. Why? Why are they after you?" I asked. What she a mastermind criminal? Was she on the run from the police? Maybe she had recently escaped from prison? No, I would have remembered that coming on the news.

"Various reasons Andrew. Being a prostitute number one, plus I may of robbed a few of my clients in the past" She admitted, "I'm sorry"

"You have three seconds to open this door before I kick it down" The voice shouted.

"Okay, I am just putting some clothes on" I shouted to whoever was outside. By the time I had turned my attention back to Amanda she had opened the window and started to climb out.

"I have to go Andrew. It was lovely meeting you. I wish you all the best" She smiled.

"You can't jump out the window!" I exclaimed, trying not to raise my voice too loudly. We were only on the first floor but I didn't want Amanda to get hurt. I rushed over to the window, "You can hide in here somewhere"

"I'll be fine, it's only one floor. Plus there's bushes below, they'll break my fall" She whispered, "I've jumped out of many windows before believe me" She leaned forward and kissed me softly on the lips, "Thank you for giving me hope Andrew" And with that she was gone. I glanced out the window to see she if she had landed safely but the massively bang behind me caused me to spin around.

It was no joke. The police were stood there in the doorway.
