Chapter 31: Surprise
Ever since Natsu admitted to Lucy about him attending Magnolia de Fiore University, Natsu made sure that he would be spending the last days in their neighborhood with Lucy. With that, the next day after the confession, Natsu surprised the blonde by waking her up from her sleep.
It was early in the morning when Lucy suddenly felt being shook awake. Shifting in her bed, she turns to see Natsu sitting at the edge of her bed, grinning widely as he coos her name to wake her up. With that realization, Lucy sits up from her bed and stares at the young man in pure surprise.
"Natsu! W-what are you doing here?!" Lucy asks as she desperately hugs her blanket to her chest while staring at the almost chuckling teen, "W-why are you laughing?!"
"I'm not laughing!" Natsu defenses as he stands from the bed and shoves his hands to his pants' pocket, "And your mom allowed me in. She told me to wake you up because breakfast is coming soon."
Raising her eyebrows at the teen, Lucy slowly lowers her blanket before sliding her feet off the bed. As Lucy stands from her bed, she made sure that her eyes were on the pinkette, checking if he was to make any stupid moves but to her relief, Natsu just stood a meter away, grinning to the suspicious blonde. "Oi, I won't do anything to you…"
"I'm just making sure…why are you even here?" Lucy asks as she does her ninja moves, trying to keep her vision to her boyfriend, "It's too early for you to be here…"
"Yeah I know" Natsu states before he dives to the blonde's bed. As soon as Natsu lie down to the bed, Lucy sprints to her bathroom and closes the door. However, she kept her ears open as she listens to Natsu who was continuously talking to her.
"We have plans for today," Natsu says loud enough for Lucy to hear at the other side of the bathroom door, "Wear something comfortable because it would be a fun adventure"
"Adventure?" Lucy questions as she slightly opens the door, wide enough for the head to peek at the lying teen, "What do you mean by that?"
"Adventure, like fun stuff… we'd be going to the Local Park and play. Then we'd go to the national museum of Magnolia, after that we'd eat at the biggest-"
"Alright, I got it…you don't have to spoil the day" Lucy says before pulling away and closes the door once more. As she continues to brush her teeth, Lucy suddenly asks, "Why are we doing this exactly?"
"Because…" Natsu then trails off making Lucy curious, so she opens the door once more and stares at the teen in her bed, "Because?" Lucy scrutinize the teen who just shifted in the bed to hide his face, "Oi Natsu! Answer me!" Lucy then steps out of the bathroom and pulls Natsu to face her, only to find him blushing. Surprised at first but then Lucy then smiles widely as she began to tease the boy, "Your blushing~"
"Quite it Lucy! Finish brushing your teeth!" Natsu remarks at first before he turns his back at the blonde, "Yii! Natsu is blushing! Why?!"
"Lucy! Go to the bathroom already!" Natsu jokingly acted irritated making Lucy just laugh at him for his childishness, "Fine, fine…" and with that Lucy stands from her spot in the bed after sitting next to him, "I'm pretty sure it's because you have something for me that's why your blushing…"
Before Natsu could retort back, Lucy has gone back to the bathroom and finish freshen up. Staring at the closed door of the bathroom, Natsu just puffed a breath and crossed his arms while pouting like a little kid. After almost a 30 minutes of fixing herself, Lucy steps out in her jean shorts and a black spaghetti strap top. Seeing that Lucy has stepped out, Natsu rises from his lying position and stared at the blonde's clothes.
"Does Uncle Jude allow you to wear short shorts?" Natsu somehow irritated asks, "That's too short"
"Dad allows me as long as it's comfortable and besides the shorts end in the middle of my thigh, it's not that skimpy," Lucy says as she tries to pull down her short but makes no difference because that was the length of her clothes.
"No, no, no. Change" Natsu points at her clothes before crossing his arms across his chest, "Your top is too tight as well, it shows too much of your boobs" Natsu adds as he shakes his head in disappointment
"Wh-what?! Why are you staring at my boobs?!" Lucy screams as she tries to cover her chest, only to make her cleavage more obvious. Seeing his girlfriend's glorious bust, Natsu unconsciously gulps audibly before looking away, "No I was not! Just change your clothes!"
"Never mind! I'll just put this on!" Lucy says as she slips on a white collar shirt that ends to her bottoms, while the sleeves end to her elbows, "Is this enough?" Lucy asks again as she catches the attention of her boyfriend. Despite being irritated at some point, Lucy couldn't shake off the feeling of being stared by the guy she likes.
"Fine, that will do." And with that Natsu stands up and walks away from the bed. As he passes by Lucy, he made sure that he will be able to catch the small hand of his girlfriend to intertwine it to his hands. Soon, Natsu is pulling the blonde out of her room and heads to the dining table. And as the two descends the stairs, Natsu began to exclaim something funny, making the rest of the people who are earshot close laugh at the teen, "Oh! Just in time for breakfast! Let me crash in!"
Once the two teens finished their breakfast, Natsu quickly pulls Lucy out of their house. They went straight to the local park and played along with the smaller children around in the park. At first, When Natsu told Lucy that they would be playing with the kids at the park, Lucy couldn't help to worry that the kids might get hurt because of Natsu's rough playing. But to her surprise, all the kids were having fun tagging along Natsu. Each kid was laughing as Natsu acted as the giant dragon while the kids laughingly run away from him so they wouldn't be tagged.
Staring at her boyfriend, Lucy couldn't help but to smile instead of getting worried even more. She felt so happy that she was with him today and that she is able to see this side of Natsu. She now knows that Natsu is a kid person.
"Oi, princess! I'll kiss you if you won't start running!" Natsu shouts making Lucy snap out of her trance. When Lucy realize that Natsu was looking at her, she pointed to herself and asks, "Are you talking to me?"
"Who do you think?! I only kiss a princess like you!" Natsu says before he began to sprint toward the blonde and to Lucy's adrenaline, she started squealing as she runs away from the pinkette.
Along with the kids, Lucy starts pulling them as if she was protecting them. Each dodge that Lucy does to Natsu's hands, all the kids would scream in excitement like they were scared that the dragon would get the princess. It took a while before Natsu outsmarted the blonde. When Natsu surprisingly grasp Lucy by the waist, the kids in front of Lucy squealed in shock. On the other hand, Lucy squeals as she felt that she was lifted off her feet and a warm arm embraced her middle. Slowly putting her down, Natsu turns her and held her face. Caressing her cheek as Lucy tried to slow down her breath, Lucy couldn't help but melt to Natsu's loving stare. As Natsu stares at her, he slowly stepped close to her to lean down his face to kiss her. Seeing his attempt, Lucy didn't stop herself from closing her eyes and wait to feel his soft and warm lips against hers. But before they could even kiss, they started hearing whines from the children.
"EWWWW!" all the kids' unison shouted making the two teens to pull away. As Lucy steps back and blushes looking at children, she quickly looks at the boy next to her. Natsu stood with a scowl in his face as he mumbles about ruining the moment and stuff. Hearing him, Lucy couldn't help but smile warmly at the boy. So she slightly bumps the teen, earning his attention. "You okay?"
"Yeah…" He lazily answers as he turns but grasps Lucy's hand to start strolling to their next destination.
After a few minutes of walking towards the main road, the two teens rode a bus that headed towards the center of the city. In the center of the city, you can find different establishments, buildings, and other fun attractions. But for today, Natsu plans to take Lucy to the National Library as a surprise since he intentionally misleads her with the idea that they were heading towards the National Museum.
In the National Library, it held the greatest, oldest and newest books ever made in the world. Natsu knows how Lucy loves going to the library in the school and how she is fond of books. So as a surprise, Natsu took the chance of taking an all-access entrance to the National Library. The establishment is open for all but not all facilities is allowed to the public unless you have a government ID. So, thanks to Zeref, his young mentor who works in a government office, allows him to use his ID as a means to get an all access id for the National Library that day.
The ride to their next destination was a comfortable silent ride, as Lucy stares at the window while leaning down to Natsu's broad shoulder. But Lucy quickly sits up straight when she saw the National Museum at the view. With that thought, she glances at the teen next to her, only to see that he was asleep. "Natsu, wake up. We have to get down soon…" Lucy said as she nudges the teen to wake up, but Natsu just pops one eye to give a quick glance. He closes his eye again and softly mumbles, "were not yet there"
"No, were here…I just saw the National Museum in view and if we don't stand now, we'll miss our stop" Lucy continues to shake the teen awake, "We won't miss our stop…"
"Natsu~"
"Relax…"
"Natsu, we missed our stop already." Lucy then stops waking the teen before turning away to look at the street once more, "Where are we going exactly?"
"We're here!" Natsu exclaims as he stands to make Lucy swiftly glance at the now standing teen, "What?!"
Without answering the blonde, Natsu pulls Lucy up and started walking close to the driver as he taps the man as a sign of going down. Soon enough, the bus halts in a busy street and the two teens steps down. Looking around the place, Lucy couldn't put her mind where they are. "Oh-kay…so what are we doing here? These are just buildings…" Lucy states as she looks up to stare at the tall buildings
"I know…but we are not yet there exactly. We just have to walk a bit" And with that Natsu pulls the blonde to walk and after a few minutes of walk, they stop in a tall glass tower.
"Wait…isn't this…" Lucy trails as she gawks at the building in front of her, "Yep, it's the National Library." Looking back at her boyfriend, Lucy couldn't help but leap in excitement, "Ah! Natsu! You're the best!"
"That's not all" Natsu then puts down Lucy and pulls a two ID from his back pants' pocket. Handing one to the blonde, Lucy reads aloud the id carefully, "National Library identification card…Lucy Heartfilia…ALL ACCESS?!"
"Surprise…" Natsu says earning a tight hug from his girlfriend. Wrapping his arms to her tiny waist, Lucy softly mumbles to his ears, "Thank you", then after, Lucy leans back to stare at the teen before capturing the lips of the stunned boy. Unwrapping his arms to her waist, Natsu holds Lucy's face by the cheeks to deepen the kiss. Soon enough, the two pulls back to catch their breath. Without further ado, Natsu steps back and pulls Lucy inside the building and soon roamed around the place.
Inside the building, many facilities were found. There was a room full of greatest Novels created by different famous writers around the world. There was a hall of pictures of famous writers that lived in Magnolia and different authors that had book signing done in the National Library. There was a reading area for children, wherein children sat at the floor while readers and performers retold the story. Every facility was a fun and exciting experience for Lucy and Natsu. Once in a while, Lucy would grab a book and read while Natsu would use the digital library catalog to find information and stories about legendary dragons.
Soon enough, the two teens ended their National Library adventure by buying a book in the book fair inside the building. Once the two steps out of the building, their stomachs growled loud enough to make them laugh together and without talking they knew where to go next, to the biggest buffet restaurant in the city, Island 8.
Time flew as Natsu and Lucy spent the day around the city. After having their lunch, the two went to the Aquatic park, accidentally seeing a few of their friends spending the day together as well. But the two didn't stay long as Natsu had plans on their own. So after the aquatic park they headed to the old arcade store wherein the two played different video games. And there, they realized that night has fallen so they have decided to call it a day.
Just like how they came to the city, they rode the bus again to head back to their neighborhood. And within an hour, the two are back in their streets, walking home. As they walk, Lucy would tell the boy to go home since her street is close by. But Natsu insists that he would walk his girlfriend home because he is a gentleman. So without further argument, the two walked silently yet comfortably.
Without knowing, the two has finally reached the gates of the Heartfilia's. Natsu then stops a few steps away from the blonde as he waits for the girl to look back at him. When Lucy did turn, she had a smile plastered in her face.
"That was fun…" Lucy remarks as she continues to smile at the pinkette. Seeing how genuine the smile was, Natsu helplessly smiles back at her, "It was…"
"Thanks for the fun adventure, I wasn't expecting everything, but you made it possible." Lucy then steps closer as she looks up at the taller teen, "You made my day…"
Without warning, Natsu leans down and capture the blonde's lips. Holding onto her cheeks, Natsu deepens the kiss and slightly lifts her up. To Lucy's instinct, she wraps her arms to his neck and pulls him closer to her. Slightly tilting her head, she returns the same pressure that Natsu puts in their kiss then she starts to bit his lower lip earning a husky moan from the boy. Soon enough, they felt their lungs burning so they slowly pulled away and gasp for air. Both catching their breath despite the one-inch distance between them, Natsu couldn't help himself but to smile at the blonde and tease her, "Didn't know you like biting my lips?"
Blushing at his comment, Lucy squirms from his grasp and faintly punches his chest. Natsu just chuckles at his girlfriend who was tomato red. "I'm just kidding…but I like that"
Lucy then punches Natsu once again making the teen boy to chuckle before hugging her. Wrapping her arms to his waist, Lucy mumbles to his chest how she had fun for that day and that she will never forget this day. When the two pulled away, Natsu held Lucy's hand and kissed her knuckles, "This won't be the last, I promise…"
"I'll hold on to your promise…" Lucy smiles back at Natsu who was smiling back at her, "Tomorrow is graduation…"
"Yep and I'm excited…can't wait to start a new chapter in my life" Lucy wraps her arms back to his neck, somehow playing with his hair, "To start college life with you…"
"I'll be leaving two days after graduation…just tell me not to go I-"
"You should…It's your dream school. And I'm all support to you, no matter what."
"But-"
"Natsu…" Lucy cuts off the pinkette once more but this time by placing a finger to his lips. Soon enough she slowly brushes her fingers to his soft and warm lips, "Don't worry, I'll just love you more each day we are apart…remember that, okay?"
Natsu quickly pecks her lips before nodding his head in agreement. And so, the two pulls away and Lucy walks away to enter now their gates. But before she even lands a foot inside their gates, she turns and gives a sweet kiss to his lips and mumbles a good-night which Natsu returns as well. Watching her walk inside, Natsu silently mumbles to himself, "I'll love you more each day too…" and with that he turns and starts to head home.

So, I was wondering if I should continue with this story. I mean, I planned this story to end within two chapters, wherein there would be a time skip and stuff. I'm just wondering, what are your thoughts about this?
1. Should I end the story with a two chapters with a time skip?

2. Do you still want me to continue and see how their relationship grow as they go on to college?
