On with the show!

Audrey scrunched her nose, "I can't believe I didn't notice before, but you guys stink."

"Oh, like you smell like a bucket of roses."

"I sure as hell smell better than you, rat boy!"

"Watch it, small fry!"

"Knock it off, weasel meat!"

"How's the weather down there, Shorty?"

"Why don't you both knock it off!"

The two immediately shut their mouths but continued to glare at one another.

Jak rolled his eyes and walked into the garage ahead of the brunette. Daxter, who was perched on Jak's shoulder, stretched his eyes down and stuck his tongue out while Jak was looking away. Audrey flipped him the bird in return.

She walked behind the renegade, eyeing the place with curiosity. So this was Kiera's place.

Huh. Nothing fancy.

"Anyone here? Krew sent us." Jak called out. The trio stepped in front of a raggedy green curtain. The silhouette of a woman sat on a stool in front of a large vehicle, reading a magazine, "I'm busy right now," Kiera's rude voice replied. "You must be Krew's new errand boys." She stated with a hint of disdain.

The two teens looked at one another before eyeing the shadow again.

"Look, I don't mean to be rude, you did get here fast, but I'm not interested in any new drivers right now. And I've got work to do!"

Jak leaned back onto a table eyeing the woman with 'appreciation' much to Audrey's displeasure, "Is there anything we can do?"

Audrey sighed to herself and crossed her arms tightly to her chest. Something ignited within her. She felt her heart being twisted. She didn't like what she was seeing. Then again any girl who's ever played the game and fell for the guy probably wouldn't either. She pressed her lips in a small frown. She didn't like this at all.

Kiera's shadow immediately jumped in panic from her seat and went to cover the vehicle so much as to throw a sheet over it, "No! I'm ah... working on a secret, ah... ah... 'Vehicle project'."

Jak frowned, "Okay, sorry..."

"Listen, if you think you've got the guts to race in this town, try taking my prototype JET-board out on the Stadium Course. Beat the Stadium Challenge, and maybe I'll consider you for my team." Kiera went back to her position on the stool.

Jak gaped at her slim figure with a hypnotized gaze in his eyes. Audrey waved her hand in front of him, but he didn't snap out of it.

She growled and grabbed him by the arm, pulling him roughly out of the garage. _

After beating the Record, (no surprise there) the three went back to the mechanics lair. She was still sitting on her pedestal all high and mighty swinging her leg back and forth as she flipped through her magazine. Jak grinned at her figure, "We beat the Challenge!" he said with pride. 'Maybe that will win points with the mechanic.' he thought.

Audrey huffed and put her attention to the racing zoomers. She could mentally picture the bluenette rolling her green eyes, "Great… People do get lucky." she said, unimpressed. "Listen, don't you have someone to collect money from, or beat up, or something?" she added sarcastically. Audrey didn't understand what was so appealing about the other girl's voice.

It was too raspy in her opinion; kind of reminded her of Torn's voice except it more feminine.

"You don't like us, do you?" no duh, Jak.

"You work for that slime ball Krew. What's not to like?" she asked, venom laced in her voice.

His attention was then brought over to a bunch of trophies near the curtain that Daxter kept posing with, "Looks like you've won a few races. Isn't it true the city champion gets to tour the palace?" he asked suggestively.

Audrey picked up his sudden interest. She recalled the racing scene against Errol and his demise. She would love to see that happen soon. Kiera's voice became uncertain, "Yeah, why?"

Jak's smirk became darker, "Could you get me into the palace?" The mechanic jeered; "A friendly visit I gather."

"Yeah. I'm a real fan of the Baron."

"Okay. I'll help you out if you just STOP bothering me. I saw an old maintenance elevator at the base of one of the Palace support towers. That old lift might take you up to the palace, IF you can find a way to turn on the elevator's power."

Jak jerked his head to the exit. Daxter jumped off the shelf and climbed onto his friend's shoulder. Audrey frowned and turned her head to the curtain. She stuck her tongue out angrily and soon followed after the blonde hero.

They went back to the Hip Hog with the brunette in tow. Peeking in from the door, she made sure Krew wasn't in there. Instead a blonde girl was, wiping the bar island clean. Audrey's eyes lit up and she ran inside, "Tess!" Tess looked up from the counter and squealed; "Oh Audrey! So good to see you!" Audrey ran over the counter and practically tackled the girl into a hug. Jak and Daxter came in more then alittle confused, "Hey sugarplum." Daxter jumped onto the counter and slicked his ears back, "You new here? Well, whatcha got that's, uh, hot and..." he acted suave towards the pretty blonde until he recognized her, "Wait, I've seen you before. You're with the Underground!" he blurted out.

Audrey went wide eyed and grabbed the ottsel, covering his big mouth. Tess brought her index finger and shushed the rat- turned boy, and began to whisper,"I'm Tess. Torn sent me to spy on Krew. Play along, and I may be able to get my hands on a few of Krew's secrets" she smiled. Daxter grinned, his eye nearly popping out of his head. "Oooooh... I love 'undercover' work, baby! But ah, two can work better than one. Lemme help you out." Daxter climbed over the counter and began to rummage through the many colorful bottles of alcohol, "Wow! There sure are a lot of bottles back here."

Tess and Audrey giggled watching the ottsel begin to get drunk, "I don't understand," Jak said as he took a seat on one of the bar stools, "Last time I remember you two were killing each other with your eyes." he pointed out. Audrey flicked her wrist. "Ah, that's just something we like to do, to give Torn his dramatic entrance. Tess and I go way back, don't we honey?" the brunette batted her eyes at the blonde who was having a hard time containing her giggles, "Hehe yeah, we met a year ago, she came with the most interesting stories too! This girl can't hold her liquor."Audrey pretended offense, "I can too!" she whined. (Whew! Ooh that's, ooh that, that goes down aah... Ooh boy, gee ya spose that's real gold floatin' in here? How 'bout this purple stuff? Glug, glug, glug... WHEW! Daxter continued behind the counter.)

Suddenly Krew floated in from the back and spotted jak, "Jak! I need you and the talking rat to go around and make a few collection for me," Before he could continue, Daxter showed himself back into view, looking drunk as hell. "Hey there, five chins... how's crimes?" The ottsel slurred. Jak couldn't help but give a silent chuckle. Krew rose a bald eyebrow, "What's his problem, 'ey?" Daxter looked at him with drunken eyes, "Nothin'... I'm just fine... mind your own business!" He fell onto his back upon the surface of the bar, "I sometimes feel so very..." He continued to murmur crazily, while Krew got back to speaking to Jak. Audrey poked the little animal, only to get a twitch out of him.

"Listen, I have six 'clients' around town who are about to make money drops for me. I need you to collect each moneybag as fast as you can and 'take care' of any guards who get curious, mmmmn? Get to a moneybag too late and some townie might pick it up." Krew informed. Jak nodded but there conversation was disrupted by the drunk animal, "...DRRYY!... You know what's da trouble with you Krew?" he pointed at the obese man, "You…got no vision... This place could be a real swingin' joint... Hop Heg Hiven with more dancin', more mac'n, more WOMEN!...Jak knows what I'm talkin' about…" he fell back on the counter with a soft smack. Krew snorted, "Just collect all 14 moneybags before they disappear and bring them back here." Soon after he said that, Daxter got round to kissing Jak's hand (Much to Jak's displeasure) and blurting out "I love you man!" Audrey laughed, "Aww, haha how sweet! Bromance!" the male glared at her until she ducked out of his sight behind the counter.

"If you lose even one bag, then don't come back, 'ey!" the fat man threatened and floated away to Precursors knows where. Jak grabbed his friend and dropped him on his shoulder, "C'mon Dax, let's go."
