A/N – Thanks for all of the excellent reviews! Glad you are enjoying it. ABCSOAPFAN1963 – I will take your request into consideration. But, the way it's playing out right now with the writing, not sure that will happen. I have made her badass in other stories though.

Chapter 7 – Dance with Me

Jason took a longer way back home since Liz seemed to be enjoying herself. When they finally made it back to the house, he parked the bike and Liz got off and ripped her helmet off. She shook out her hair and handed it to him. "Thanks for the ride."

"Anytime."

She started to move towards the house.

"Elizabeth?"

She turned around. "Yes?"

"Tomorrow night I have a meeting with a few associates at a club. I believe they are bringing their wives. Would you like to attend?"

Liz smiled. "Sure. I'll look through my closet and find something to wear."

"I already picked out a dress for you."

Her eyebrows shot up. "Really?"

"Yup. It will be delivered tomorrow afternoon."

"Suppose I don't like it."

Jason chuckled. "Then I would be offended."

Liz thought for a moment. "Okay then." She entered the house in a daze. He is trying and that left a huge impression on her.

The dress arrived about 6:00 p.m. Liz opened the box and gasped. It is beautiful. There is a note in there. "I hope I did good. – Jason"

Liz smiled and then went to take a shower. She molded her hair in a tight bun and put on minimal makeup before looking at the dress again which couldn't help but be admired. Besides being light blue, below the bodice it has layers that flowed to the floor. It is also strapless and when she put it on, she felt beautiful and sexy in it.

She slipped on some shoes and grabbed a purse that wasn't too matchy, and then went downstairs.

When she reached the bottom, she realized that everyone was staring at her. "What's wrong?"

Jason smiled. "Nothing, you look beautiful."

"Thank you." She sat next to Claudia on the couch. The guys had gone over to the bar. "How's it going?"

"Great. You and Jason seem to be getting along a little better."

"It has been painful, but I think the worst is over," Liz said hopeful that they are on the right track.

"Sonny told me how you stood up to him. I have to say that I was very proud."

"Thank you."

Claudia didn't think Liz had it in her, but she was certainly glad that the young woman seemed to be holding her own. She felt protective because Liz has such an untainted quality about her.

"It can be hard being a significant other with someone in their line of business. You have to be able to stand up for yourself."

Liz nodded.

"I'm always here if you need to vent. It will be just between us."

Liz was eager to make a new friend. "Thank you, Claudia. I would like that. So, tell me all about yourself."

"Let's see, I'm a business woman and run my own fashion company which is very successful. I have a brother, John, who lives in New York and is a famous pianist. Our parents are deceased, and I'm not connected but have been with Sonny for a little over a year."

"How did you meet?" Liz asked.

"Believe it or not, Sonny was buying a dress for his date and he wanted something spectacular. I was called and let's just say Sonny never made it to that date."

Liz smiled. "That sounds hot."

"Very," Claudia said with a big grin.

Liz is happy to get to know Claudia. She figured they might as well be friends since Sonny and Jason are joined at the hip.

"You ready to go?" Jason asked.

Liz smiled and stood. "Yes."

Claudia watched as Liz moved throughout the club and chuckled when she realized that the younger woman was completely oblivious to the attention she was getting, but Jason certainly wasn't. He put his arm around her waist as he led them to their table making sure everyone knows that she is his.

They greeted their guests and sat. Claudia had already met the other associate's wives, so she introduced them to Liz. Soon the men excused themselves and went off into a corner.

"Your husband doesn't seem to be able to keep his eyes off of you. Are you newlyweds?" one of the women asked.

Liz smiled. "Yes, we are."

"How romantic."

"It was sort of a whirlwind romance," Liz said looking over at Claudia who chuckled.

They continued to chit chat and then Liz went to the bathroom.

Johnny shadowed her and waited for her to come out. He smiled when she finally emerged. It is nice seeing her so content.

"I love this song. Will you dance with me?"

"I don't know if that…"

"Come on, Johnny, they aren't even paying attention."

He pitied Jason at this moment because there is no way he can say no to her. "Alright."

Taking a brief glance around the room first, he noted Jason wasn't looking and then led her around the floor. "You do look very beautiful tonight."

"Thank you. Jason actually picked out the dress." She is proud of her man.

Johnny was surprised. "Wow, I didn't know he had it in him."

Liz chuckled. "He is full of surprises."

"I'm glad that you're happy," Johnny said softly. "Now, I don't have to kick his ass."

"Thank you for having my back. I appreciate it that you ate my cooking every night and spent time with me."

He made a face. "It was horrible having to eat all that food. I hope this proves to you how good of a friend I am."

Liz laughed. "Yeah, and I had to listen to you go on and on about your uneventful life which bored me to tears, but I took one for the team too," she said pretending to yawn.

Johnny grinned. "What a pair we make." He sighed as Liz chuckled.

Jason was totally distracted watching them dance. From the moment he looked up and saw them, jealousy permeated his body.

"Why don't you go cut in?" Sonny asked.

"You know I don't really like dancing. Anyway, she looks like she's having fun."

"You're not jealous of Johnny are you?" Sonny asked noting some agitation in Jason's voice.

Jason shrugged.

Sonny grinned. "He is a good-looking guy and all and there is that accent too. I could see how Liz would find him irresistible."

Jason turned and glared at him. "Really Sonny?"

Sonny chuckled. His partner is so easy to tease. "Jason, you know you want to go break that up. Go for it."

Jason put his drink down and headed down the stairs.

"Incoming," Johnny said.

Liz giggled.

"If he tries to deck me, I'm just going to pick you up and hold you out in front of me," Johnny said noting Jason's irritable expression.

Liz laughed. "I can't believe you're scared of him."

"When it comes to women, men can sometimes be a little irrational and he has that I'm gonna kick your ass look on his face right now. I might have to sleep with one eye open," Johnny said with a smirk.

Jason heard Liz laugh and he couldn't help but smile; even though part of him wanted to deck Johnny for being the one to make her laugh like that in the first place.

"May I cut in?" he asked.

"No," Johnny said giving him a look.

Jason was stunned for a second which made Liz laugh even harder.

"Just kidding, boss," Johnny said, putting Liz's hand in Jason's. "Priceless," he muttered as he walked away.

Jason just shook his head and then pulled her closer.

"Having fun?"

"Yes. I hope you didn't mind that I danced with him. I just really liked that song."

Jason smiled. "It's okay. He dances better than me anyway."

"I think you're doing just fine and I'd rather dance with you," Liz said before biting her lip.

"Thanks."

Another song started playing and Jason led her back to the table. He never left her side for the rest of the night.

Before long, it was finally time to go and they all headed out.
