Okay, im sorry I havent updated in forever plz love meh .
"Stop Charles." The voices are fuzzy and blurry and all I see is white.
I hear the clock of a gun, "Shut up filth the Templars will take over and exterminate you animals." I hear the scuffle of boots, "Where's the bloody child?!"
The voices get fuzzier but I can still hear them, "I killed it."
I heard a thud, "Shut up you whore!"
I hear splashing and raindrops, "Why Charles…"
I hear the gun again and the voice of a madman, "For the new world." And the last thing I hear is a loud bang then the white fades.
"Connor!" I gasp for air and sit up taking in my surroundings, I was in Connors bed my torso was bandaged with the faint color of red on them. I looked around to see no one and decided to get dressed and go look for Connor but as I started to move I felt the most horrible pain I had ever felt. I fell on the ground with a large thud and yes I cried, I cried like a child but the pain, the stinging, the cold tears falling off my nose and onto the cold wood floor. I felt hopeless, I felt like I had failed Connor and my mother as I cried and at that moment all the emotions, all the hate, all the sadness that I had built up in my mind just poured out of me. Pain can make you feel hopeless and with that hopelessness came fear and fear was one thing I hated.
I had been laying there for almost an hour in my pool of tears until Achilles had came up and rushed up to me calling the other women who lived on this land. I cried myself to sleep ignoring the cooing and the comfort the women gave me.
I woke up my face sticky with dried tears; I looked around and saw Achilles staring out the window into the night, "Achilles?" I said weakly.
The old man smiled and wobbled over to the chair next to my bed, "Glad to see you're awake young lady." He sounded sad.
I sat up slowly, "What happened to me?" I was confused, "The fire is Connor okay where is he?!"
Achilles hushed me, "Calm down he's out at sea and won't be back for some time he's fine. The night of the fire Haytham and Connor both rushed in with you…" he paused as if he was going to cry, "when they brought you in I was sure you were dead…pieces of wood were jammed through you one hitting you're main artery…the burns had gotten infected."
I chuckled," I've came in with worse though…"
He looked uncomfortable, "You died Kateye. You stopped breathing and died."
I was stunned how could I have died I'm alive right now, "What are you talking about?"
Achilles looked saddened, "When we told Connor about you...he paused for a minute and began to talk about his next move for the Templars completely indifferent to your death. The next day he left without a goodbye."
I felt my heartbreak at that moment not because Connor didn't care for my death but because he had left so sudden, "When did I come back?"
Achilles sighed, "2 days after he'd left."
I nodded and a moment of silence had overcame us until I looked at my robe, "This is going to end soon…the Templars…the war…I'm a distraction." Achilles stayed silent and I choked on my words, "I have to leave don't I…this life." I felt a tear drop off my nose.
"You may leave but you'll always be a member of the assassins…" he picked himself up and walked to the door.
I hesitated, "Wait, don't tell Connor I'm alive." Achilles nodded and left.
The next morning I had given my assassin blades and robe to Achilles, I was ready to give up. I dressed in a pirate like outfit and covered my red eye with an eye patch since blue is a more normal color. I cut my hair to the shoulders and tied it up, and I covered my mouth with a cloth. When I finally looked at myself in the mirror I didn't see me I saw someone else…someone who was lost.
When I was finished I walked down and was handed a bag of money by Achilles, "Now you'll need a new name…..Red" I nodded and walked out taking one last look at the man who had helped me start my now past life…if only he knew how thankful I am.
