Chapter 11

Saiken

I felt myself shiver from the cold winds. My paw was almost better, but… I wished I had the twins with me, I hadn't seen them in a little over a moon. I've managed to hunt for myself at least once every two days. I missed them dearly, my heart ached whenever I thought of them. And it was almost impossible for me to stop thinking about them. Especially because... I was expecting their kits… No… I couldn't think like that right? Maybe I wasn't… I wasn't sure… I had never expected kits before… I could feel tiny presences squirming and telling me to suck it up and acknowledge them. I curled up, fighting back my tears. I wanted Jasdevi and the twins… I wanted them with me… I needed the reassurance. The help… But I just had to send them away… I just had to… They needed the freedom… And I had been holding them back... I had been feintly hoping that they'd come back for me... but I hadn't seen them. Not once… I wondered if they had forgotten me… Or if they really hadn't loved me… I didn't know why I was just doubting all this now… But I was. It became harder to fight back my tears as I curled up tighter.

A very familiar voice caught my ears causing me to sit up "Saiken! Saiken!" It cried. My head shot up as a bright blue light flooded the dark cave. Jasdero was here… Why was Jasdero here? He would have been halfway to his destination by now, right?

"Jasdero?" I asked. The blonde tom nodded, stopping in front of me panting heavily. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"D-Devi..." He panted, collapsing from running so much.

"What's wrong with Devit? Where is he?" I asked.

"D-Devi... e-eagle..." Jasdero gasped.

"Rest for a moment, then tell me what happened," I said. The blonde nodded and there was silence for a while, the only sound being Dero's panting. When he seemed to calm down I spoke "alright. What happened?"

"Devi... Devit got taken by an eagle!" Jasdero cried.

"We have to get him before it's too late," I said standing up, worry filled my to the brim. What if Devitto died? Jasdero nodded, tearing up. "Do you know where it's nest is?" I asked.

"I-I think it's on a cliff..." Dero said nervously. I nodded.

"Okay, lead the way," I said determinedly. Jasdero nodded hurriedly, standing. The two of us ran as fast as we possibly could, it took all I could take not to slip and fall. I felt the gravel against my paws, and the cool winds blowing my fur, the kit's squirmed in protest against all this movement, they weren't big at all, but they still caused my stomach to churn. But we had to save Devit! We couldn't wait!

…..

"This the place?" I asked Jasdero as we came to a cliff's edge, a large nest hung on some branches a fallen tree distance away. He nodded, staring up at the nest.

"Devi's up there..." He murmured. I nodded, I could smell him too, his scent was fresh, and it didn't smell like blood… Slowly, we crept forward, keeping to the sides of the cliff, if that bird came down on us, we'd have nowhere to hide. We stopped a little way from the nest, listening for any noise. The eagle didn't seem to be home… So me and Jasdero extended our claws and began to pull ourselves up, I felt my claws begin to hurt as I tried my best to clutch the cracks in the stone. Somehow, Jasdero was faster than me, almost a foot away from me. Well then again, he wasn't pregnant. Lucky him… We soon reached the top. He popped his head up to look inside the nest.

"Devi!" The blonde said happily with a grin.

"Dero!" Devit breathed in relief. "You came!" I climbed up beside Jasdero.

"Don't forget about me!" I said with a slight pout.

"Saiken?" the ravenette asked in shock.

"The one and only!" I said brightly, glad I was finally with both twins and relieved that Devitto was alright. Devit grinned.

"Hey! Long time no see!" He laughed.

"Yup, almost two moons," I said with a sigh.

"Sorry about that by the way..." He murmured.

"It's fine," I said giving him a smile.

"Now... how bout we get out of here?" Devit said nervously.

"Ya… That's probably for the better…" I said. Devit stood shakily and walked over to us. I nuzzled his cheek gently in reassurance and slowly, me Jasdero and Devi made our way to the ground.

After an eternity of almost slipping, we finally reached the bottom of the cliff. We all scurried off as fast as we could hoping the eagle wouldn't come back wondering where it's supper was. Once we were far enough away, we stopped to rest, panting heavily. I felt the twins press against me purring softly.

"We missed you." They purred in unison.

"I missed you guys too…" I muttered softly. They nuzzled against me, licking my cheeks. I purred happily and returned their gestures, kissing them both on their cheeks.

"Let's find somewhere to rest." Devit said. I nodded in agreement. Glad to be able to sleep with them with me...

"There's a good place not far from here." Dero giggled.

"Alright, let's go there," I said with a smile. The three of us began walking, talking and catching up with each other. Apparently not much had happened with them, but Jasdevi had been mad at them for leaving me. They told me about how much they regretted leaving me behind every day, it warmed my heart to know they had actually cared about me.

"Jasdevi wouldn't stop yelling." Jasdero whimpered.

"Well, now he doesn't have a reason to yell," I purred softly. They nodded, grinning identically. We walked inside a small cave, it was like the one I stayed in except it was smaller. I didn't mind though.

"Hold on, Jasdevi says he want's to see you," they said in unison. "We're gonna merge." They said. I nodded and sat down, wrapping a tail around my haunches. The twins took a deep breath and sung their strange song, seeming to explode into smoke at the end of it. Before the smoke even cleared I felt Jasdevi nuzzle me passionately placing tender kisses all over my face. I felt myself purr.

"I missed you too," I murmured. The dual colored tom lay beside me, curling around me and purring. I nuzzled my cheek against him and curled up beside him, rasping my tongue over his cheek. I hadn't realized how much I missed him until now.

"I didn't like leaving you..." He murmured, nuzzling against me.

"I know, I didn't like any of you leaving either… But I was slowing you guys down." I muttered. Jasdevi licked my head. I purred curling up closer to him, happiness flooded through me.

"Slow is better than nothing right?" He asked softly.

"I guess," I said with a shrug and nuzzled him, breathing in the scent I have been without for so long. Jasdevi purred, nipping my ear gently. I felt myself grin and nip his scruff. He purred loudly, nuzzling against me, his tail intertwining with mine. I rasped my tongue across his cheek.

"I love you so much..." He murmured.

"I love you too…" I murmured. The tom stifled a yawn, nuzzling against me. "We should get some sleep," I suggested.

"But I don't wanna." He pouted.

"We have time to catch up in the morning, besides, I know your tired," I purred.

"Fine..." Jasdevi sighed, curling around me and closing his eyes. I purred softly and allowed my tail to intertwine with his own, curl into the curve of his stomach, fitting perfectly as usual. I closed my eyes, relaxing my tired muscles. I yawned softly.

"G'night Jasdevi…" I murmured.

"Night..." He whispered.

I awoke the next morning to the same wriggle of the kits annoying me quite a bit. For a moment, I was confused to the feeling of someone beside me. But then I remembered that I had my mate/mates back… I felt myself smile and curl up closer to Jasdevi. He muttered something in his sleep, shuddering. I purred and kissed his cheek gently, he seemed to be having a nightmare, so I figured it'd be better to wake him up. I nudged him gently in an attempt to wake him. He grumbled quietly and curled up tighter around me. I giggled softly and nipped his cheek. One of his eyes opened with a sliver and he seemed to be remembering what happened yesterday.

"Morning." I purred.

"Hi..." He whispered tiredly. I kissed his cheek softly with a purr. He smiled slightly, yawning widely.

"How'd you sleep?" I asked as I stretched a bit.

"Good." He yawned. "You?"

"Very good," I whispered. Jasdevi purred softly before standing and shaking himself, beginning to groom his fur. I stretched out and began to do the same. Jasdevi finished first, stretching. With a yawn I started to clean my paws.

"I'm gonna go hunt. Kay?" Jasdevi asked, looking at me. I nodded.

"Be careful," I said, nuzzling him gently. He licked my cheek, then trotted out of the small den. I sat down on my haunches and waited for him to return. I wondered how I was supposed to tell him that I was going to have kits, or if I should tell him... how would he react? Would he be happy? Upset? I didn't know… But after all, he was the one that asked for them… So maybe he'd be happy… Right? But I was still very nervous about telling him. Maybe I'd tell him when we got to our destination… If it wasn't obvious by then...

He came back a bit later, carrying a vole in his mouth.

"Hey," I greeted. He placed the vole down.

"Hey." He smiled. I purred and nuzzled my cheek against his gently. Jasdevi licked my cheek, nuzzling me back.

"Nice catch," I said with a smile.

"Why thank you." He purred. I yawned, the haze of sleep still hanging over me. "Are you still tired?" Jasdevi asked.

"A bit, I've never liked waking up," I mused. Jasdevi smirked, nipping my ear. I purred and nipped his scruff gently.

"Well you better wake up, cause if you don't, I'll eat it all." He smirked.

"But it's so much work," I moaned, flopping back over lazily.

"Then I guess I'll eat it all." He teased.

"You wouldn't." I purred with a smirk.

"Try me," He smirked widely.

"Eh… Too much work," I groaned.

"Then more for me." Jasdevi said triumphantly.

"Meh." I said with a slight pout as I rested my chin on my paws. He nudged me gently.

"Come on... wake up..." He whined.

"Fine…" I groaned opening my eyes and stretching. Jasdevi grinned happily. I kissed his cheek gently and sat up with another yawn. He nudged the vole over to me. I began eating my half of the vole. "thanks," I said with a purr.

"No problem." He said, eating his own half. I licked my lips savoring my half, this was the first time I had eaten in a few days so I was thankful for the meal. Jasdevi stretched once he finished eating, licking the blood from his lips. I swallowed the last meat sliver, licking my lips of blood and meat reminisce. "Shall we keep going then?" He asked. I nodded, standing up and shaking some dust from my pelt from the ground. "Let's go then." Jasdevi said. I nodded and we set off, exiting the den. To our surprise, we heard voices. We stopped, listening intently.

"Mom, are we there yet?" A tiny voice whined.

"No, not yet," a female voice purred. This female voice was very familiar.

"When are we gonna get there?" Another tiny voice whined.

"Soon." A male voice said.

"How soon?" A third kit voice asked, this one male.

"Very soon." The male voice sighed. I looked over at Jasdevi. He shrugged, and continued to listen. I peered over the corner to see that she cat and tom, the exorcists that we seemed to bump into a lot. Jasdevi looked too.

"Exorcists..." He murmured. I saw three little kits bouncing around at their ankles. "What do we do?" Jasdevi asked softly.

"I don't know… But I don't think they're going to be trouble," I muttered.

"How do you figure?" He asked.

"One, they haven't been with their clan in a while, so it seems they are on the run as well, two they have kits." I replied. Jasdevi nodded slowly.

"Alright then." He murmured.

"But let's still be careful," I muttered. He nodded again.

"I smell something," the tom said.

"What is it Lavi?" The she cat asked the tom named Lavi.

"There are other cats…" He said softly. Jasdevi and I hid.

"How many?" The she cat asked.

"Like two or three… I think… Maybe four?" Lavi guessed.

"Four?" The she cat asked in surprise.

"Well, the scents are kinda strange… There's two that are similar to this other one, like the scents combined, it's weird and then theres just some other one," Lavi explained.

"That makes no sense..." The female said slowly. "Do you think that… Maybe… It could be those same cats…?" She asked.

"You mean the twins and that other she cat?" Lavi asked.

"Ya," the she cat said with a nod, wrapping her tail around her kits protectively.

"You think they're here?" He asked. She nodded breathing in our scents.

"Ya, smells fresh," she replied.

"You think they're still here?" Lavi asked softly. She nodded. "Let's be on our guard."

"Alright…" She said softly. Jasdevi and I sunk deeper into the shadows. I followed him, making myself small, pressed against his flank. His tail wrapped around me protectively.

"Hello? Anyone in here?" Lavi's voice rang out in the small cave. We remained silent.

"I think they're in here…" the she cat murmured.

"We know you're there! Come out!" Lavi called. I pressed myself closer to Jasdevi. His tail wrapped tighter around me. The five of them walked deeper into the cave, almost to where we were. Jasdevi's eyes narrowed dangerously, his eyes flashing. I kissed his cheek in reassurance. He nuzzled against me, still watching the exorcists. The she cat's eyes turned to where we were. She nudged her mate and gestured towards us, three little heads peaked curiously from behind their legs. Jasdevi hissed softly, glaring. I bared my teeth as well. The three kits squeaked and hid.

"We won't hurt you," The she cat said in reassurance to us.

"Why should we trust you?" Jasdevi hissed.

"Because we're on the run too," she replied. "We have no reason to hurt you." Jasdevi relaxed slightly.

"You're telling the truth?" He asked warily.

"Ya," the she cat replied. He relaxed fully and nodded. The she cat sat down, wrapping her tail around the three kits. I nuzzled against Jasdevi, seeing he was still a bit tense. "Why are you guys running away?" She asked.

"Sick of rules." Jasdevi shrugged. I nodded.

"And you?" I asked.

"We wanted to be together." Lavi replied.

"The clan wouldn't let us," the she cat said.

"Okay." Jasdevi nodded. I curled up beside Jasdevi, still weary of going outside of our shadow. He licked her head gently. I purred softly.

"Oh, my name is Silkendream, and this is Lavitalon," the she cat named Silkendream introduced herself and her mate. "And these are our kits, Amberkit, Roankit, and Berrykit." She said gesturing to the three little kits.

"This is Saiken and I'm Jasdevi." He replied. I nodded. I noticed he didn't add the second part to either of our names. But I suppose it's for the better. Seeing as he was an apprentice technically and I was a warrior. But that didn't matter. We were no longer part of the clan, so we were just ourselves. Silkendream blinked a few times at me, maybe some recognition or something... "Something the matter?" Jasdevi asked boredly.

"No, just noticed something…" Silken muttered.

"What?" He asked.

"Never mind." Silken said. He shrugged, yawning slightly. Now I was curious about what she had noticed but pushed it aside and curled up closer to Jasdevi.

"I wanna separate into the twins..." Jasdevi whispered. I nodded and kissed his cheek tenderly. He closed his eyes, muttering something under his breath. Silken and Lavi were curled up together on the opposite side of the cave, watching their kit's play together. Suddenly, Jasdevi split into Jasdero and Devit, the two of them shaking themselves.

"Whoa…" Roankit's voice said as he watched us curiously. Jasdero giggled softly, sitting down and beginning to play with his light. The kit's eyeballed the light with saucer eyes, almost in a hypnotized way. The blonde didn't notice, only continued playing with it, swatting at it almost like a kit. Slowly, Roankit crept forward looking at the shiny bulb of light. Dero giggled again, rolling onto his back and swatting at the light. Roankit then crept over so the light was in reach and pawed at it. Jasdero looked at the kit upside down, tilting his head curiously. The kit then giggled softly and began to play with the light, his tiny paws barely able to move it. The blonde tom pouted, pulling the light closer to himself with his paws. The kit whimpered, his eyes growing large, pupils growing and his little lips quivering giving him an adorable face.

"Mine." Jasdero pouted. The adorable face seemed to grow to cuteness overload face causing Jasdero's jaw to drop, eyes widening at the cute. His pout vanished and he looked at the small kit. It seemed to whimper ever so slightly, just enough to set pity and guilt in Jasdero's heart. The blonde let go of the ball. "Fine..." He muttered. The kitten beamed at him and began to play with the light. Devitto burst out in laughter. "Shut up!" Jasdero cried indignantly. I felt myself giggle softly at the cute sight. Jasdero pouted, watching the kit play with his light. Roankit giggled and continued to play with it, his tiny paws batting it gently. Jasdero rolled over onto his stomach, getting tired of being on his back. This made it a bit harder for the kit to get the light because it was higher up, so he had to stand up on his tiny hind paws to smack dat light. The blonde lay his head down so that he could reach it better. The kitten purred and sat on his haunches while batting the shiney, soon enough both of his sisters attention was caught by the glowing light so they trotted over and joined their brother. Jasdero groaned softly, wanting this to stop. I nudged him with a smirk. He glanced up at me pleadingly. I chuckled softly.

"Kits, it's nightfall, come over here," Silkendream called to the kits. They pouted and reluctantly walked back to their mother. Jasdero let out a sigh of relief. I watched as she immediately started grooming them, Lavi chuckling as they whined pitifully trying to scramble away from their much needed bath. Devit walked over to Jasdero and smirked slightly. I snickered softly and curled up with a yawn. Jasdero squeaked in surprise when Devit licked his head.

"You need a bath too," he snickered.

"Deeeviii!" Jasdero whined, elongating his twin's name.

"Will it make you feel better if Saiken helps?" Devit purred with a devious smirk.

"Are you guys a three some or something?" Lavi asked.

"No!" Jasdero cried, shying away from his twin, who held him in place.

"No. It's complicated, but no." Saiken replied. Devit continued trying to groom his twin, who kept shying away. Lavi nodded and began to help his mate groom the kits. I watched the twins, snickering softly.

"What?" I asked them. They shrugged, grinning identically. Were they planning something? Did they know something? Jasdero suddenly yawned.

"Tired..." He murmured. I nodded and curled up in between them the way I used to a month and a half ago. They curled up on either side of me, purring. I smiled, nuzzling against the two of them. The two of them yawned identically, curling up tightly. I felt my eyes close and soon enough, we drifted off to sleep.

…..

I awoke the next morning, still enveloped in the twin's warmth. I had trained them a bit last night with Aspenfall, so we were all sorta tired. I groaned softly, stretching. They were still sleeping, so I decided maybe I could hunt for a bit. The others weren't awake either. So I stood up silently, feeling the ache in my legs and back and trotted from the den quietly. I sniffed the air, looking for prey. The scent of rabbit came to my nose so I began to track it silently, breathing in the scent of rabbit. I trotted towards where my prey was. Soon enough, I saw it snuffling around in the grass, I lowered myself down into a hunters crouch, stalking up to the prey item. I narrowed my eyes, moving closer and closer. I felt the wind brush my fur into the opposite direction of the rabbit, the fur pressing against the pads of my paws. I moved closer and closer, unsheathing my claws. Then I pounced, feeling a warm large body collapse beneath me. I swiftly snapped its neck as I began to feel it struggling against me. When the rabbit became limp, I picked up the large warm carcass and began to drag it back to the cave. When I came back, almost everyone was awake. Jasdero and Devitto were looking for me, they seemed worried. I trotted back into the den, pulling the rabbit beside me. They looked up at me and let out identical sighs of relief.

"I'm back." I said through a mouth full of rabbit fur as I dragged it over to the twins. Lavi was missing so I figured he went hunting.

"Saiken brought food too!" Jasdero giggled happily. I nodded, dropping my catch down in front of them. Devit and Dero grinned widely, licking their lips.

"Have at it," I purred. They dived at the food at once. I dug in as well, the tender yet musky flavor of rabbit bathed my tongue. We finished in record time. I licked my lips and began to clean my paws. I still wondered how I was supposed to tell them I was expecting kits... Perhaps I could ask Silken. She already had kits, so she'd know what to do. What would I do... Silken wasn't even my friend... how the hell was I going to this? I sighed softly, thinking.

"Something the matter?" Devit asked.

"No. Nothing." I said quickly.

"You sure?" Devit pressed with a purr. I nodded, trying to resist his sexy purring. But it was seriously getting to me... it dug down into my core, sending shivers down my spine. Using sexiness to get what he wanted was probably some talent of his. "You positive?" He purred again. I managed to force the words to my lips.

"Yes. I'm positive." I said.

"Well, if you're sure." Devit purred.

"Yes, I'm sure." I repeated. He shrugged.

"Fine." I smirked, getting my way. I knew he'd probably send Jasdero over to use his cuteness knack on me... As I thought, Devit went over to Jasdero and whispered something to him. Jasdero giggled and trotted over to me.

"Can you tell me what's wrong?" He giggled cutely.

"Nothing's wrong." I insisted. He began acting like a kit, nuzzling and purring against me. "Not gonna work Jasdero. Nothing is wrong." I replied. Jasdero teared up, beginning to sob loudly. I could tell they were fake almost immediately, but my heart was clenched tightly. "Not working Dero-kun." I choked out. Jasdero's sobs intensified, the blonde beginning to hiccup. I had to keep reminding myself that his tears were fake. "I'm telling the truth. Nothing is wrong. I promise." I said, I was telling the truth after all. The kits weren't wrong right? Jasdero began whimpering piteously, his sobs intensifying if that was even possible. I was on the verge of cracking. But I had nothing to say. Being expectant with kits was nothing bad... nothing wrong and as far as they're concerned something wrong might be occurring to me. Maybe a quick lie could patch it up. Like maybe... my paw! Yes, my paw! I can use that as an excuse! Maybe I reinjured my paw a bit while hunting? Would that work? It had to! It was my best chance. "Alright alright. I hurt my paw again a bit while hunting." I grumbled. Jasdero's tears stopped at once.

"Saiken-chan's hurt?" He asked, wiping away his tears.

"Not really that much, but its a bit sore.' I replied. Jasdero nuzzled against me as if to reassure me. Devitto trotted over and began to do the same thing.

"We aren't leaving you this time..." He murmured. I smiled, kissing each of their cheeks.

"Thanks." I purred. They smiled and both of them nuzzled against me.

"No problem..." They said in unison. "We'll never leave you again." They purred. I smiled and purred. Jasdero giggled, nuzzling against me like a kit. I smiled then the thought of telling them about the kits returned when they began to squirm again. Perhaps I should tell them... they deserved the truth. But... I was afraid to... if only they could just read my thoughts or discover by themselves. Why did I have to be so nervous?! Star Clan, it sucked to have that nervous feeling... I had to suck it up and tell them. They'll find out one way or another. I didn't know how to... couldn't I just leave it aside. Sooner or later, it'd become obvious... I continued to debate whether or not to tell them now or to let them find out later... It was better to tell them before... it'd be better than a surprise. "Guys... I need to talk to you outside." I said, gesturing to the outside of our cave with my muzzle. They nodded curiously and followed me outside. "Uh..." I started out a bit awkwardly, not sure how to say it.

"What's up?" Devit asked. I decided to just let it all out.

"I'mexpectingkits!" I said quickly hoping they wouldn't make me repeat myself. They blinked in confusion for a moment. "Please don't make me repeat myself." I said softly.

"Did you... did you say..." Devit started.

"You're expecting kits?" Dero finished.

"Yes... yes I did..." I muttered, embarrassment flooding over me. I felt my cheeks heat up.

"That's awesome!" The twins cried in unison. I felt relief wash over me.

"Really?" I asked hopefully.

"Of course!" Dero cried.

"Remember, Jasdevi said we wanted to start a family with you." Devit laughed. I nodded and smiled.

"Of course I do..." I murmured. Delight flooded over me that I finally got through it. Jasdero and Devit were grinning happily, making guesses to how many there were. I chuckled softly. "I guess we'll find out later." I purred, kissing them each on the cheek.

"Dero hopes it's five!" Jasdero giggled. I felt myself giggle softly.

"Yeah! Five!" Devit laughed. I laughed in amusement. They both grinned, nuzzling against me. I purred happily, glad to have them and for them to be this excited.

"I wonder who they'll look like." Devit mused. I shrugged.

"Probably like both of you and Jasdevi" I mused. The nodded, grinning. I purred and lead them back inside the cave. Silkendream was starting to get worried.

"Have you guys seen Lavi?" She asked softly.

"Here I am!" Lavi appeared as if on cue, carrying a sparrow. Silkendream stood up and embraced Lavi, thankful that he was alright. I could see it in her eyes that she had been scared of how long he was missing. "I brought food too." He purred. "Sorry for worrying you. This guy put up a fight."

"It's alright... as long as you're safe..." She murmured. He kissed her cheek, nuzzling against her. She purred softly. I felt myself smile at the sight. As I lay down between the twins who were already discussing night shifts so they could protect me.

"Guys, it'll be alright." I soothed.

"But-" They started, before I cut them off.

"No night shifts. You both need you strength." I said, kissing each of them on the head. They sighed and nodded reluctantly. I purred and nuzzled against the two of them. They nuzzled me, purring identically and licking my cheeks. I smiled at them, joy fluttered through me. We were going to have a family of our own now...

"hee hee Jasdevi's really happy." Jasdero giggled.

"Well I'm glad that the three of you are happy," I purred. They grinned identically.

"You three done? We need to get moving." Lavi's voice interrupted them. I nodded.

"Ya," I said.

"Alright then. Let's go." Lavi said, standing and shaking himself. I stood up with the twins, and saw Silkendream begin to pick up Berrykit and Amberkit, these were dangerous cliffs, no wonder she was doing this, Lavi picked up the last kit and the five of them began to walk out. I guess we're traveling with them for now I thought as I followed in a trot. Jasdero stuck close to Devit as we walked, their tails intertwined. I walked in front of them keeping behind the pair in the front of us.

"How far do we still have to go?" Jasdero asked softly.

"A mile, maybe two, we should be able to get there either by today or tomorrow." Lavi replied through a mouth full of kit. The blonde nodded, falling silent. I licked his cheek slightly, causing him to giggled. I purred softly then seeing Devit pout. Then I kissed his cheek as well. He grinned, pleased. Jasdero started humming randomly.

Eventually, we all walked into a big cave around nightfall, my paws were a bit sore but I wasn't going to tell the twins that. Silkendream gently placed her kits on the ground, moving her jaw a bit, she had been carrying the kits the whole day, no wonder her jaw hurt. Jasdero's ball of light was the only thing illuminating the cave. Soft blue light lit up the area. The kits went up to him at once, looking up at the ball. They started to play with it again. Jasdero pouted.

"Dero's never gonna get to play with it hee..." Jasdero grumbled.

"Well, it's better you get used to that," I purred. He groaned, his large eyes watching the three kits. I noticed how diligently Silkendream watched her kits she was probably worried Jasdero might hurt them. Jasdero tried pawing at his ball slowly. Amberkit then climbed on top of Jasdero and sat on his head.

"Hey! Off!" He whined. The kit giggled and shook her head. Her sister giggled and got the same idea as her sister and climbed on top of Jasdero's back, Roankit grabbing onto the light and dangling on it. "Someone help! hee!" Jasdero cried. I felt myself laugh out.

"Mush!" Amberkit ordered.

"Get em off!" Jasdero whined.

"I said mush!" Amberkit repeated.

"No!" the blonde pouted, laying down stubbornly.

"I'll sit on your face!" She threatened.

"I'll bite you!" He threatened back.

"No you wont!" Amber replied sticking out her tiny pink tongue.

"Oh yes I will!" He stuck his own tongue out. Roankit giggled as he dangled from the light. "Someone please help!" Jasdero cried. Devitto even started to laugh a bit. I giggled softly. "Devi!" Jasdero whined.

"This is hilarious!" Devit laughed.

"Deeviii! Please!" Jasdero pleaded.

"Dero. You should get used to it, you'll have to allow kits to crawl all over you eventually," Devit pointed out.

"Yeah but those will be our kits! Not someone else's!" Jasdero tried to shake off the kits. They giggled and clung tighter to his fur with a giggle. I laughed in amusement. "Look, if I let you play with the ball will you get off Dero's head?" He sighed. Amberkit thought for a moment then nodded. "Okay. Now get off." He said. Amberkit got off of his head but began to dangle off the light like Roankit while Berrykit continued to sit on his back. Jasdero leaned his head down so that, if they fell, they wouldn't fall far. They giggled and continued to cling to the bulb of light. I watched in amusement, giggling softly. I feintly hoped my kits would be like this. Though they'd probably be more rebellious seeing as their father/fathers were Jasdevi and the twins. But that's fine. I'd love them just as much. I yawned and lied down, curling up tiredly.

"You tired?" Devit asked softly. I nodded with another yawn. "Wanna go to sleep?" He asked. I nodded again with another yawn. "Go to sleep then. Dero and I will join you in a minute." He purred. I was weary, wondering if they were going to try to guard me while I slept like I had told them not to do. I sighed softly, hoping they wouldn't. I didn't want them to worry so much. I rested my head on my paws and curled up with a yawn, closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep.

...

I awoke to a lot of noise. Noises like shouting and laughing. I opened my eyes with a yawn and an annoyed groan. What was going on? Jasdero was practically being attacked by the kits. I snickered softly seeing all the kits practically pinning him to the ground while Silkendream watched with a laugh. Poor Dero was crying for help while everyone laughing. I sighed and stood up, shaking my pelt and trotting over, and picking the kits off of Jasdero gently and plopping them on Devit instead seeing as he could probably handle them.

"Hey!" He cried out indignantly.

"You can handle them," I purred, then trotting back to Jasdero who was sniffling. I kissed his cheek gently. He nuzzled against me, sniffling softly. "It's alright Dero, now you can laugh at Devi," she purred as Devitto was now complaining as Roankit was pulling on his ear.

"Ow! Ow! Stahp!" Devit cried. Jasdero giggled softly.

"See, funny!" I said with satisfaction, sitting down. Amber kit was clinging onto his tail, trying to drag him. Jasdero's giggling got louder. I even felt myself laugh. This was adorable and hilarious at the same time.

"Not funny!" Devit shouted.

"It's very funny Devi," I purred.

"No! No it is not!" he snarled. "Help!"

"No! Feel my pain!" Jasdero laughed evilly. I giggled softly. Berrykit sat on his foot.

"I think I'm wearing him out!" She called to her sister.

"Good!" Amberkit giggled.

"Hell no!" Devit shouted, standing and shaking vigorously to get them off. The kits all giggled and clung tighter. He shook himself harder in an attempt to shake them off.

"Devi, you'll hurt them." I scolded with a frown.

"Get. Them. Off!" Devit growled. I rolled my eyes at him then plucked them off, nudging them towards their mother.

"Go. Shoo." I said. They nodded with a giggle towards Silkendream who then greeted them each with a purr and nuzzle, beginning to clean each of them. Devit sighed in relief, his fur ruffled. I trotted over to him with a smile and began to smoothen out his fur sort of in an apology. Dero walked over to, doing the same. Devitto relaxed, sitting back down with a purr, allowing the other two to groom him.

"Dero's sorry." The blonde purred. I nodded in agreement.

"It's okay," Devit said with a smile. Jasdero giggled happily, licking his brother's head. Devit chuckled and relaxed. I purred nuzzling the two of them. They both kissed my cheeks, purring. I smiled with a purr rumbling in my throat. Lavi walked into the cave, holding some prey.

"Welcome back Lavi-kun" Silk purred.

"Hey." He said when he put the prey down. "I brought breakfast for everyone."

"Thanks," Silkendream purred kissing his cheek gently.

"No problem." He purred in reply. They both began to eat, taking parts from the meat to give to the kits. I noted to do that for mine and the twins kits. Jasdero and Devit looked at the food hungrily, but then looked away as if they thought they weren't supposed to be doing that. Silkendream looked up.

"You guys can eat too," she said, gesturing to the other pieces of fresh kill. I smiled at her.

"Thanks," I said, nudging the twins forward to the rest of the prey. They walked up a bit timidly, eating hesitantly. I ate less hesitantly, she had told me it was fine to eat. So I was with no shame. I wondered why the twins were so timid about it… I kissed their cheeks gently in reassurance. It was probably about their past, with not many people being kind to them at all. Especially several former exorcist. "It's alright guys," I purred. They nodded slowly, continuing to eat. I finished my share, licking my lips and cleaning my paws. They finished and went back to the corner. I followed them with a trot and lay down on my back, gently pawing their ears playfully. Jasdero started randomly playing with the ball. "What's the matter?" I asked them. They shrugged slightly. "You can tell me," I purred softly.

"We don't feel comfortable sharing with exorcists..." Devit muttered.

"I know, I can understand that," I murmured "they used to to be our enemies, and now we're sharing prey with them, I get that," I said nuzzling the two of them. They nodded timidly. "Don't worry, we'll be fine," I purred.

"Can we really trust them...?" Jasdero asked softly. I nodded.

"I think we can," I said "there's nothing about them that shows a red flag," I said.

"If you're sure." Devit sighed.

"I have a pretty good judge in character," I said "I knew I liked you guys when I first saw you," I purred. They smiled slightly, Dero letting out a giggle.

"Thanks." They said in unison.

"Hey, I always knew you guys were really good on the inside," I purred. They kissed my cheeks, grinning. I smiled nuzzling against the two of them, then noticing they seemed tired. "Were you guys staying up last night to protect me like I told you not to do?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No..." Devit said slowly.

"Don't lie." I scolded. "I can see how tired you two are."

"Fine..." Dero sighed.

"We might have stayed up a bit…" Devit muttered.

"All night was more like it." Jasdero grumbled. I sighed.

"You both are going to sleep tonight whether you like it or not." I said sternly, just to make myself clear.

"But-!"

"You're sleeping tonight." I said with an air of finality. They pouted, mumbling under their breath."If you even try to stay up all night, I won't talk to both of you," I said menacingly. They nodded reluctantly, still pouting childishly. I kissed the two of them on their cheeks. They mumbled softly. I smiled with satisfaction in my victory. Jasdero started playing with his ball of light. I rested my chin on my paws, and stretched a bit boredly. Amberkit walked over to Jasdero.

"No. Dero's ball." He said at once. The kit whimpered, giving him large eyes and a quivering lip. "No." Dero said with an air of finality. The kit grumbled irritably and stalked back towards Lavi and Silk, then smirking and tackling her father with the other kits. Jasdero giggled triumphantly and continued playing. I smirked and gently pawed the light. He didn't react, but moved a bit closer to me. I smiled and continued to play with the light, rolling onto my back while Devit snickered softly. The twins started snickering as they watched me.

"I'm bored, don't judge," I pouted, continuing to play with the light.

"It's cute." Dero giggled. I smiled slightly as I gently bat at it again. Jasdero bat at it too, careful not to hit my paw. I purred softly hearing Devitto start to chuckle at the two of us.

"This is amusing to watch." He laughed.

"Meh," I pouted. Jasdero giggled in amusement, rolling onto his back. This shiny ball of light was highly amusing to me, no wonder why the blonde liked to play with it. It was also pretty. A very nice shade of bright blue… I liked the shiny, though I felt bad that it was stuck to his head forever. If only we could get all of it off without hurting him. Though he seemed to like it, though, I really wanted to get rid of those stitches… If only there was a way... It would make things so much easier him. He could eat and hunt by himself… But I continued to smile so I didn't let them know what I was thinking about. It would hurt poor Dero to mention the stitches to him... he seemed to be just fine without the reminder of the two leg. And I wanted to make him, Devitto and Jasdevi as happy as possible. They all needed it. I only hoped I could continue to give it to them. I swatted the light gently with a soft giggle as it moved.

"Hey. If you listen closely, it makes a ding noise." Dero giggled.

"Really?" I asked curiously, as I began to listen. He pawed at the ball again. A small 'ding' came from inside of it. "That's cool," I giggled.

"Ding. hee hee." Jasdero giggled softly. I felt myself giggle as well. Jasdero was so cute sometimes... he was like a kit. Like my own kit that I loved as a mate like Devit and Jasdevi. Jasdero was my innocent kit. Devitto was my stubborn one, and Jasdevi was my bipolar one. Maybe my actual kits would be the same. I hoped so. But, no matter what they were like, I'd love them just the same…
