Chapter 35 – The Rescue

Carlos had insisted on going with Jason too. He could tell the enforcer was tired and didn't think he should go it alone, so they rode together. Besides, he was worried about Skye and Lorenzo. The man was well aware of Luis's mental issues where Lorenzo is concerned. This isn't the first time that he had tried to harm Lorenzo. Their war had been going on for years as Luis's mental state deteriorated. Lorenzo had him put away, but Manny found a way to free him. The bottom line is that Luis will have to die and he hopes that his brother won't harm anyone he loves before Lo gets a chance to finish him. The only reason he hadn't before was out of respect for his parents.

"I'm going to split us into two groups. I need you with the other guys so that you can direct them."

Carlos is glad that Jason trusts him. At first, he wasn't sure what to make of the man and was worried for Elizabeth, but they seemed to be okay now so he is glad that she has found love. "Okay."

"Spinelli was able to pinpoint her location, so I'm going to go after Skye. You and the other men will go find Lorenzo. Try the basement or lower levels first."

Spinelli had given him a general layout of the building. He handed his phone to Carlos so he could see it.

They drove the rest of the way in silence thinking about their strategy and trying to stay alive. Jason was scared that Elizabeth would completely lose it if her parents got hurt. He wants to get back to his girl, needing to feel her in his arms and so she feels completely safe.

They split up and flanked the building. Jason headed inside first with two other men. There are two hallways, so he sent them down one and he went down the other hoping to have the element of surprise on his side. There is no way that Luis would think that they would find him. His arrogance is going to be his downfall. Spinelli had taken out the security cameras, but it will only give them fifteen minutes before they turned back on.

Luis, who is in the room with Skye, turned on the television, so the couple could see each other. Lorenzo's jaw clench and his eyes filled with worry. "I love you," she mouthed. He did the same, both scared about each other's safety. Lorenzo is in terrible pain and needs help quickly due to blood loss.

"How touching. We're going to see just how much you love Lorenzo right now," Luis said smirking. He had waited a long time to get to this moment. All the planning and torture at the mental hospital would be worth it once Skye and his brother are dead.

Skye looked up at Luis. "What do you mean?"

He removed his shirt. "You're going to make love to me while Lorenzo watches or I will kill him while you watch."

Lorenzo yelled, "No," and struggled against his restraints and groaned as the pain overtook him.

Luis laughed at him. "Just sit back and enjoy the show, brother, while I pleasure your wife."

Skye glanced at Lorenzo in the monitor. "Trust me," she said. He nodded and tried to take a deep breath. Seeing Luis in the same room as his wife is worse than any torture he had endured thus far. He couldn't bear the thought of Luis putting his hands on her.

Luis leaned in and kissed her which she reluctantly returned until he retreated. "You taste better than I thought you would."

She pushes down her need to claw his eyes out and tries to focus on what she needs to do. The only thing that makes it easier is that they are twins. She has to play the role and pretend that he is Lorenzo for a few minutes.

Lorenzo cringed. He feels so helpless and seeing them kiss is ripping him apart.

Skye pulled his head towards hers and their lips joined again. This time, Luis pushed them onto the bed and reluctantly pulled back for a second to undo his belt and that is when Skye struck out. She moved her legs up like she was getting into position for him and pulled a knife from a holder on her shin and stabbed him.

A shocked Luis stumbled off the bed. "You bitch," he said looking down at the blood on his hands. He charged her, wanting to make her pay.

Lorenzo held his breath as he watched the scene unfold. While his wife can hold her own, Luis is crazy and strong.

Skye rolled to the side as Luis landed face-first onto the bed and she plunged the knife into his back several times, aiming for vulnerable spots just like she had been trained to do. "Fucking asshole," she yelled, pulling the knife out and wiping some blood off of her face. She got off the bed and grabbed the gun off the table and turned back around and fired several shots. Within the blindness of her fury, she heard Lorenzo say, "I think he's dead honey," and she smirked.

"It doesn't hurt to be sure."

She moved towards the TV. "Can you give me an idea where you are?"

"I think I'm in the basement. There are two guards near the stairs," he said quietly.

"I love you. I'll be right there."

"Be careful. I love you too." Skye is skilled, but he is still worried about her, but at the same time, he pitied the fool that got in her way especially after what he had just seen her do.

Jason was walking down the hallway and heard a noise from behind him, so he quickly ducked inside a room and flicked on a light and saw he was in an office. Turning the light back off, he opened the door and stood off to the side.

Skye cracked open the door to the room and peeked into the hallway. No one was there so she darted out and as she went past the office where Jason is hiding, he saw her and reached out and grabbed her, pulling her inside.

Skye's eyes grew big as the hand clamped over her mouth and she started to fight him. Her back was pressed up against his chest and she could tell he was much stronger than her.

"Skye, stop it. It's Jason," he whispered softly.

He felt her immediately relax and he let her go. She turned around and threw her arms around his waist and hugged him tightly. She is so glad to see him. With Jason's help, Lorenzo will be rescued.

"It's okay," he said gently as he hugged her, "I'm going to get you out of here."

She retreated back. "No," she said before shutting the door and flipping on the light.

When Jason saw the blood, he reached out and grabbed her arm. "Is that yours?"

She shook her head. "I killed Luis."

Jason was in shock for a second but got it together. "Are you sure?" There is a lot of blood.

Skye smirked. "Hell yeah, not only did I stab him multiple times, I shot him several times as well. Unless he's fucking Freddie Krueger, I would say the son of a bitch is dead."

"Wait, I thought you gave Liz your knife?" Jason asked slightly confused.

"I gave her one of my knives."

He grinned. "You Alcazar women are amazing."

"Where is my beautiful daughter? I hope she's someplace safe."

"Let's get Lorenzo and I'll update you both at the same time."

Skye really wasn't happy with that answer, but she agreed. "Lorenzo said he thinks he's in the basement."

"You spoke to him?"

"Yeah, there was a live feed on the television in the room."

"Listen, follow behind me. Take this extra gun," he said taking one from his vest. She'd be able to grip it better than the one she took from Luis. "I'd give you my Kevlar, but I don't think it would stay up on you."

Skye smiled. "It's okay, Jason. I know you'll protect me," she said putting Luis's gun in the waist of her jeans as a backup.

Jason turned off the light and started to open the door. He grabbed her hand for a second to pull her out of the room and then they held their guns out as they moved down the hallway.

"It's this way," Jason said directing them to another hallway. A man came around the corner and Jason shot him. They continued on cautiously and came to what they thought was the basement door. He started to open it and when gunshots rang out, he pushed Skye to his side and shut it. Skye shot a man running towards them and then turned to face Jason who is preparing to toss a grenade. Their gaze locked and he waited for her approval, refusing to move forward without it. There is a chance that Lorenzo could get hurt, but it is the only way to get in there before Luis's men killed him.
