I looked up at the woman. She stepped closer. I winced at how shiny some of her jewelry was.
"Let go." I didn't struggle against the ropes. I was pretty sure that I could break them, but I didn't know. Wasn't there supposed to be something weird about her rope?
"No. What did you do in there?" She demanded. High-strung, uptight hoochy.
"I killed some people." I answered. I didn't care if she knew. What the hell did I care if she knew I mangled Killer Croc and maybe Baby Doll, I didn't really remember. The adrenaline rush was fading. Had I killed Baby Doll? I wasn't sure. "Or maybe I didn't."
Batman dropped down beside her. "Diana. Harmony?" He looked surprised.
"Hey Batsy, what's kickin?" I started chewing on the rope. It was kind of chewy, actually. Like beef jerky. Didn't taste as good, though.
Robin ran up. "Harmony! Hey, let her go!"
"She claims she killed people. She was found with Rex and the Joker and Harley Quinn just left." Wonder Woman defended her actions.
"I might have killed people." I corrected her. "I don't actually know if I did or not. I just sort of beat the hell out of Killer Croc. Hm, maybe I didn't get Baby Doll. I don't think I got Scarecrow."
"Harmony, what did you do?" Robin crouched beside me.
"Messed up our date plans, obviously." I started feeling something like guilt. "I told you the first time, I'm broken. I tried to tell you. Or maybe Bats didn't do a good enough job telling you that I don't wanna fuck you up."
"I told him, verbatim." Batman shook his head.
"So am I going to jail?" I asked them.
Rex was being rolled out on a stretcher with his arms and legs bound. He was laughing and singing some song. There was a van waiting for him. It said Arkham on it.
My breath froze in my chest. "You can't. Robin, you can't. Robin?"
Robin stood. "D… Batman?"
"She needs help." He crossed his arms.
"You gave up." I realized. "You want this. You don't want me with your precious Robin. I am not like Joker!" I screamed at him.
"Not yet." He shouted back, trying to stop me with his own volume.
"I'm not insane! I don't need mental help, I should be going to jail for beating the shit out of Croc!" I started crying. "Don't take me there! I'm not ill! I don't need a doctor, I-I-"
"Harmony…" Robin's voice cracked.
"Robin, don't let them take me!" I couldn't make myself move. I could have broken the rope, but I just couldn't move.
"It's all political." He turned away.
Finally, I broke the rope. Wonder Woman looked shocked and afraid. All I did was bite through.
I pulled my scarf out of my pocket. "Robin." I handed it to him. "Take it. If you're going to let them take me to that place, you take this scarf. I won't need it when I get back."
He didn't want it. I forced it into his hands.
"The only thing about putting a bunch of crazy people together is they just get more crazy." I felt tears running down my face and I didn't care that my eyes were bleeding. I didn't care that officers had their weapons drawn on me or that medical staff were trying to sedate me. "Don't you get it? Charcot's hysteria experiments were proof enough. You better stay away from me, Robin. I might give you my crazy. Warning: Hysteria spreads."
Robin pulled his hood over his head as he watched me be dragged to the same van as Rex. He wrapped my scarf around his own neck and he would not look at either Wonder Woman or Batman. I hoped he felt like shit. He knew I… He knew what I was afraid of. I was just another crazy now. Well, so be it. Fuck Robin and Batman and all of them.
