Chapter 47 - Recovery

Jason met Kelly halfway. "How is she?"

She smiled. "She's fine. Everything went very well. I removed a significant amount of scar tissue and everything else looked good. I'm very hopeful, Jason. She will be sore for a while though. I want to see her in three days to just make sure everything is healing properly."

Jason took a deep breath. "Thank you, Kelly."

"The nurse will come and get you in a few minutes."

Jason nodded and then glanced at Skye who hugged him. "I told you our girl would be fine."

"I can't wait to see those beautiful blue eyes again."

Skye nodded. When they had decided to create Elizabeth, they didn't have a problem conceiving. In fact, she had gotten pregnant within two weeks of going off the pill. Her delivery had been rough though and there were complications due to severe bleeding that required a hysterectomy. It broke her heart, but she at least had her beautiful daughter to dote on. Hopefully, Elizabeth won't have the same experience once she finally conceives.

The nurse returned and Jason was taken to Liz. They were trying to wake her up and she wasn't happy.

"Go away," she said scowling before she attempted to go back to sleep.

Jason grinned. "If you don't wake up, I'll have to go back home and get something else to wake you up with," he said thinking about the butterfly.

Liz looked up at him frowning. She knew exactly what he was talking about. "But that was the best sleep ever."

The nurse smiled at them. "We can't let you go home until you're completely awake. We just need to make sure that all your readings are normal and then you can get dressed and leave. I believe the doctor prescribed you some pain meds. Your mom went to get it."

Liz nodded. "My brain feels foggy." She focused on Jason. "Did everything go well?"

Before he could answer Kelly, entered the room. "Hey there, everything went very well. Jason is going to take you home and pamper you for a few days and then I will see you for a checkup."

Liz smiled. "Thank you, Dr. Lee."

"You're welcome," she said.

They took out her I.V. and Jason helped her get dressed. Francis brought the car around and they got her inside. She is sore but the pain is tolerable, although, by the time they got her home and settled into bed, she was really feeling it. Jason gave her a pain pill and she went to sleep.

He grabbed some paperwork and sat down on the bed next to her. A few hours later he looked up and saw Tess. "Hey."

"Hi," she said quietly walking into the room. She kissed Liz on the forehead and then moved over to the other side of the bed. "How is she?" she whispered.

"She was in pain, so I gave her some meds a few hours ago and she's been knocked out ever since."

"I just wanted to check on her. I heard that it went well."

Jason nodded. "Very. She'll be in pain for a few days and then she should be back to normal."

"Good."

He smiled. "You're showing."

She grinned. "I know. It just seemed to pop out of nowhere this morning." She is still amazed at how much her body had already changed. The only good thing about it is that she loves to shop.

"John is going to be thrilled when he sees you."

"He should be here sometime tomorrow. We're going heading home over the weekend."

"I know Liz is going to miss you."

"I'm going to miss her too. Did she tell you about having my wedding at your house?"

"Yes. I think it will be fun. Plus, she is already very excited about planning it."

Tess smiled.

Liz stirred. "Tess?" she said as she blinked.

"Sorry if we woke you," she said softly. "I just had to make sure you were okay."

Liz smiled. "I'm fine," she said stretching a little. "Just sleepy."

"Well, you get your rest. I'll come back over tomorrow."

Liz frowned. "Hey, wait a minute."

Tess looked at Jason and then back and Liz. "What's wrong?"

Liz pointed. "Can you hand me my phone?"

Jason grabbed it for her. She fiddled with it for a second and then pointed it at Tess and took a picture.

"What did you do that for?"

Liz grinned. "You're showing," she said before closing her eyes again.

Tess chuckled. "I'll see you tomorrow."

Jason watched her leave and then leaned over and kissed Liz on the cheek.

The next few days went by fast. Skye helped out with Liz and made sure everyone was fed. She was healing nicely and before she knew it, Jason was taking her to the hospital for her follow up visit.

"So, how are you feeling?" Kelly asked.

"I feel much better. The pain is almost gone."

"Good. Let's get you into a gown and then I can examine you."

After she left, Liz started to get changed and Jason went to the waiting room.

"Alright, let's see what we have here," Kelly said walking into the room.

She examined the incisions and did some tests. "Nice. I think you are good to go," she said taking off her gloves. "No vaginal sex for three more days. Everything else is fair game."

Liz blushed. "Okay. Anything else?"

"Nope, you guys can start trying over the weekend," Kelly said smiling.

Liz could feel the tears well up in her eyes. "Thank you so much."

"You're welcome. Now, it's all up to your body."

Liz nodded. "Do I need to come back and see you?"

"We'll make an appointment for three months, but I'm hoping to see you sooner than that."

Liz understood what she meant and she smiled. "I'm keeping everything crossed."

Kelly frowned, "Well, not everything."

Liz chuckled. "You have a point."

"Take care and good luck."

Liz got dressed. She was scared to be hopeful, but in the end, she wishes that everything will work out. In the last few days, she had done a lot of reading and considering that all her other tests were good, she had a very good chance of conceiving. She went out into the waiting room and Jason got up and hugged her. "Everything okay?" he asked.

"Everything is great."

Jason was happy knowing how important this was to her. The one thing they hadn't done was have him tested, so he figured if they didn't get pregnant by her next follow up visit, he'd ask Kelly to test him.

They walked into the elevator.

"So, when can we start making babies?"

Liz grinned. "Three more days."

Jason frowned. "That's like an eternity."

"Well, she did say everything but actual sex was fair game," she said raising her eyebrows up and down.

Jason chuckled. "Hmm, that sounds interesting. So, the butterfly is doable?"

Liz laughed. Men and their gadgets. At least she got a lot of pleasure out of that one. He kissed her gently.

"I love you, baby."

She didn't know if she could love Jason anymore if she tried.
