Sorry about this chapter being late. On Saturday I couldn't finish it but then on Sunday I got Fire Emblem: Awakening (nothing like being two years late on the hype-train! =w=")... and I couldn't stop playing it until 1 in the morning... =w=" (but don't we do that with all new games we get?)
"What should we do now?" Red sighed as the three continued to wander the halls.
"I don't know. We got weapons now but we still need to figure out where the others are," Popo said.
"I just hope they're fine, all this death is sort of scaring me," Nana murmured.
"As long as we stick together we should be fine," Red said.
The three then heard a distorted scream coming from up ahead. They turned to each other and nodded before they went in the direction of where the scream came from. Next thing they knew someone had crashed into Red.
The girl seemed to have realized that it was a person and looked up while hyperventilating with tears pricking her eyes.
"H-Help...!" she cringed as the tears started to fall down her cheeks, she then fell down onto her knees.
"Hey, w-what happened to yo-" Nana then realized the giant slit in her side.
"Here, can you stand?" Red held out his hands.
"S-Some...what-t...!" the girl was still hyperventilating as she puts her hands into his.
"I'm not even going to ask if you need to go to the nurse's office," Popo said as Red pulled her up onto her feet.
"How did you get the giant slit?" Nana asked worriedly.
"K-Kuchi...!"
"'Kuchi'?" Nana asked.
"N-No...! Kuchisake-o-onna...!"
"Doesn't that translate to 'slit mouthed woman'?" Red asked.
"Hey...! I know that legend!" Nana realized, "You didn't answer 'no' after the second question did you?!"
"I-I didn't know...! So I r-ran after she tried to c-cut me in half...!" the girl then started crying again.
"You can't do that! She'll just chase after yo-"
"Found you."
The four turned and saw a woman in a trench coat with a surgical mask on.
"You...!" the girl gasped and started to tremble.
The woman grabbed the girl by the wrist and yanked her to her.
"Run! If I can't save myself then at least save yourselves!" the girl yelled bravely, even though her legs felt like they were going to give in again.
"But we can't do that!" Nana yelled, then immediately clamped her mouth shut after realizing her mess up.
The kuchisake-onna then looks over to the three.
"Am I pretty?"
"Calm down first! We need to think through this," Samus said, but couldn't help but feel anxious too, "Does this 'monster' have a signature?"
"It... varies, but there is a very small signature which involves stabbing the chest and stomach area," Robin said.
"Meaning, until we see that we know that the monster broke free. Right now we need to go to the security guard's room," Samus said.
"Why the security guard's room?" Shulk asked, having calmed down a bit after thinking it through.
"Because I know that technology is the one thing that dimension magic affects into our favor."
Nana took a deep breath to calm herself, then looked up to the woman and faked a smile.
"I'm sorry, but my brother and my friend are deaf, so they can't understand you," Nana said.
Red and Popo looked at Nana weirdly, but then realized that Nana was trying to make sure none of them messed up.
"Then what do you think?" the woman asked.
"Yes," Nana nodded.
She then took off her surgical mask to reveal that her mouth had been slit, making it look like her mouth was stretched from ear to ear.
"How abou-"
"Excuse me, but may I ask a question?" Nana interrupted.
"Yes, but make it quick," she said.
"How big is your toothbrush?" Nana asked.
This obviously confused the kuchisake-onna (along with Red and Popo), but she was confused long enough for Nana to grab Red and Popo by the wrists and ran off, obviously anywhere but the hall the kuchisake-onna was in.
Shulk grabbed the handle and tried to open the door but all it did was shake in place.
"Now what? It's obviously locked," Robin asked.
Samus moved Shulk to the side, "This." She then swung her foot at the door knob with her high-heeled, knee-high boots, clashing the heel with the knob and knocking it out of place.
The door slowly creaked open.
"You know, I'm just gonna stop asking and assume you know what to do next," Robin sweated along with Shulk.
"Fair enough," Samus shrugged indifferently as she entered the room along with the other two.
"Wow..." Shulk gaped at all of the monitors that decorated the wall in front of them.
"From what I can tell, each monitor shows a room or hall," Robin said as she walked up to the monitors.
"Bingo, and see how it's split into four? That shows what's happening in each dimension with that same room or hall," Samus said.
"Hey, I found Pit," Shulk said.
Next thing the blond knew he was shoved into the wall by the same blonde who broke a door knob with her foot.
"Pit...!" Samus smiled in relief, but then immediately frowned at the sight of the two blue haired boys.
"S-Samus?" Robin blinked as Shulk got up while rubbing his sore head.
"If only I was with him and not stuck with you guys!" Samus muttered under her breath as she bit her thumb.
"Thanks, we love you too," Robin said sarcastically with a twitchy smile.
"So what type of dimension are each of us stuck in?" Shulk asked, trying to get off topic, which succeeded, seeing how Samus was serious again and scanning the screens thoroughly.
"The dimension Pit, Marth, and Ike are stuck in is only a few seconds before our's, the dimension Red, Popo, and Nana are stuck in is an hour ahead of our's, and the dimension Rob, Lucina, Link, Zelda, and Pea-" Samus suddenly paused in her sentence and it looked like all traces of color left her face.
The two wondered what happened to the seemingly strong girl, so they turned their gazes to the monitor she was staring at which just so happened to be showing the girls' bathroom.
Now they understood why Samus looked like that because they ended up just like her.
"No...!" Robin gasped.
Shulk then noticed Samus's gaze hardened, but saw how she was clutching her skirt tightly.
"Their dimension is an hour before our's, meaning even if we managed to get to their dimension it would be too late to save her."
