Um, sorry... again... =w=" I don't think I'm gonna be able to update next week because my family and I are going on a one week vacation.
There's also lots of emotional stuff in this chapter.
"No...! No! NO!" Zelda sobbed as she fell to her knees after feeling the weight of reality collapse onto her.
"Peach...! Why...?! WHY?!" the brunette continued to weep with her eyes shut, not wanting to see her friend's corpse.
She could hear footsteps and ragged breathing from outside, but she didn't care who or why. All that mattered was that her bright and optimistic friend was now dead, her corpse hung on display right in front of her.
"Zelda! Are you okay?!" Lucina yelled in a panic from outside of the bathroom.
Only sobs managed to come out of her throat. She couldn't even make incoherent words.
"Zelda..." that soft voice from above her head and the gentle and comforting hands that were on her shoulders to make her turn made her open her eyes. She looked up, waiting for her vision to clear to see Link.
"Link...!" Zelda cringed as more tears ran down her cheeks.
She buried herself in his embrace, wetting his shirt with tears and wrinkling it as though she was holding onto him for dear life.
"No...! This is terrible!" Lucina gasped after coming in and seeing Peach's corpse.
Rob stood there, purely shocked and slightly scared. He didn't like this- no- he hated this, but surely the other side of him enjoyed this.
Enjoying how he broke the girl who could rival the IQ of Robin's and himself.
Enjoying how the silent boy was trying to act strong to protect the girl he liked when really his own arms were shaking around her.
Enjoying how torn that man's daughter looks.
Enjoying how his work was being hung on display right in front of them.
"I... I...!" Rob gripped his hair, fighting the mind tearing headache down.
I-If I cry now...! He'll take over...! I-I can't do that! I'll kill everyone and hang their corpses on display for all the world to see!
"Ugh, this obviously isn't going to get us anywhere if we only yell at Ike," Marth sighed tiredly.
"True. Let's just go get some weapons to keep us safe," Pit said.
"To the clubs with weaponry then," Ike said, looking indifferent but leading the way.
The trio then walked through the halls, keeping small conversation and doing their best to stay away from the corpses and pools of blood laying underneath some of those corpses. During those conversations, Marth noticed that Pit only seemed to be half-paying attention to what both of them were saying.
"I've been thinking..." Pit murmured, "We... We haven't really encountered any problems..."
"Well ya just jinxed us," Ike said, but that huff afterwards made it seem like he felt indifferent about it.
"But I'm serious! The only problems we've encountered so far were when we were all in the same dimension!" Pit protested.
"That is true. I haven't put much thought about it though because of that," Marth said.
"I have!" Pit puts a hand on his heart, as though his heart truly hurts from thinking about it, "If Medusa's after the people I care about so much that means she's too busy attacking the others in the other dimensions!"
"Pit..." Marth murmured, surprised at the sudden outburst.
"That's exactly what she wants."
The two blink, then turned to the source of the voice: Ike.
"Samus talked about it before. She's making you anxious in order for you to start thinking pessimistically," Ike said with a serious tone to match his face for once, "Once that happens you'll fall right into her hands, along with the world."
Ike then turned around and continued to slowly walk in the direction of the weaponry clubs after shocking the two.
"I kind of hate to say this, well, more like I'm not used to saying this..." Marth said awkwardly as he scratched the back of his head, "Ike's right. You're playing right into her hands, which we're trying not to."
"Yeah..." Pit murmured, averting his gaze to the ground shamefully, "We're all in this together now, huh?"
"Listen, Pit, it's not your fault, you're having too much of an inferiority complex. It's not entirely your fault, in fact, more than one thing is the cause for a giant mishap like this," Marth said soothingly.
The angel visibly relaxed, letting his tense shoulders slump a bit, but he still looked guilty, "I... I know that..."
"If any of us die, we would never hold a grudge against you," Marth managed a smile, "All of our friends are kind in their own ways, not in the clearest ways, but for sure they are kind in their own odd little ways."
"That's the thing!" Pit suddenly meets Marth's gaze with his own, "You're all so kind to someone who'll only get you in trouble! If any one of you guys die I would have indirectly caused it!"
Marth lost his train of thoughts from another one of Pit's sudden outburst, but slowly and carefully reformed them so they came out the right way.
"I understand."
Pit looked at him in a confused way.
"I had an older sister once. She was a huge role model of mine and she was always there to cheer me up whenever I was down. One day, an accident happened while we were on the streets," Marth smiled sheepishly, "You know, it's been so long that I don't remember if the driver was drunk or I accidentally walked into the road without looking. All I know is that she sacrificed herself in order to save me."
"Marth..." Pit looked like he was at a lost for words.
"Well, obviously you haven't lost Samus yet since it's very well known that she can take care of herself," Marth awkwardly laughed, "But I just want you to know that you are worth so much more than you think. You can't let deaths take over your life and leave you hanging in the past, you have to move forward no matter how painful it gets."
"... Right..." Pit smiled for once today, "You're totally right! Thanks Marth, I wouldn't have known what to do if you weren't here!"
He smiled back, "Come on, let's go catch up to Ike."
