A/N – Thanks for the review and well wishes re: the accident. Tangling with a motorcycle was harrowing but we are both okay. Guest – I think Jason gets that they didn't want him to be an enforcer but he suffered greatly in the mental institution and that really was what made him turn from there. It's not black and white. It's complicated. They did some very hurtful things you can't just expect Jason to get over it.
Chapter 56 – Apology Accepted
Jason drove home and went upstairs and took his boots and shirt off. His body felt like it weighed a ton. All he wanted to do is feel Elizabeth's body next to his, so he crawled into bed beside her. He snuggled against her and quietly cried, unable to hold back his emotions any longer. Liz felt his movement and looked up at him.
"Oh, baby, come here," she said hugging him tightly.
She felt his body shaking and her heart was breaking. Waiting for him to calm down, she lovingly rubbed his back feeling a little scared. Jason is never this emotional.
"I'm sorry," he said into her shoulder. "I didn't realize I'd get this upset." He had buried his emotions for so long, like a bomb waiting to go off.
He pulled away from her and grabbed a tissue and wiped his face before laying down again, allowing Liz to cuddled against him.
"It's alright to get upset. You probably needed to," she said softly.
He sighed. His conversation with Monica was replaying over and over in his mind. Liz got up and went to the bathroom to give him a little time to think and then slipped back beside him. Turning onto his side, he put his hand on her belly and then looked into her eyes. "I went to talk to Monica," he said quietly.
Liz swallowed hard. She wasn't expecting him to deal with his mother so soon.
"I let everything out and she listened and told me that she wants to fight for me, but that she loves me enough to let me go if it's what I want."
"That's a hard thing to do," Liz said softly. She couldn't imagine being put in that position.
"I know. The mental institution they put me in was horrible. The conditions and methods they used to treat patients were sadistic. I can't even begin to tell you how bad it was. It still haunts me," Jason said taking a shaky breath. He had been a mess when he finally got out. The emotional wounds never healed. "I was there for around two months. The place was later closed down because of the things they were doing to the patients. Sometimes, I can't believe that I survived it," he said painfully.
Liz started to cry at the thought of it. "Oh Jason, I'm so sorry."
He hugged her tightly, desperately needing to feel her warmth. "I also found out that she was the one who fought to get me out of there."
Liz sighed. "That's messing with your head isn't it?"
Jason nodded. He is grateful that she had done that for him, so he was going back and forth between being mad at her and wanting to thank her. If he had stayed in there any longer, the mental damage would have probably been permanent. Hell, he probably would have taken his own life. That is how desperate and despondent he was at the time.
"Jason, you don't have to make any decisions right now, but the bottom line is that you have to do what is best for you," she said moving onto her back.
That is hard for him to process and not usually something he does. While he can admit that she is right, he couldn't help but think how cutting Monica out completely would not only hurt her but his son. He looked down at Liz and moved a curly lock off of her face. "Thank you for being so supportive. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Liz scooted up his body and brushed her lips against his. Jason quickly deepened the kiss and enveloped her into his arms. Liz suddenly gasped and pulled away from him with her eyes wide alarming him. "What's wrong?"
Her eyes filled up with tears and she smiled. "I felt a flutter. I felt our baby."
He grinned and then put his hand on her stomach and kissed her again. Liz threw her arms back around him and kissed him back with abandon. Jason moaned into her mouth as her hand undid his jeans and then slipped inside them. "Fuck," he mumbled against her lips as she slowly stroked him.
He pulled back and eased his jeans and underwear off as Liz shed her clothes and tossed them aside.
Jason briefly put his hand on her belly again. "Close your eyes and ears little Nacho," he whispered.
Liz chuckled and grabbed his face and kissed him again. He reached down and felt her wetness making her groan as he started to pleasure her. "Jason, now please." She wanted to feel him fill her up. He started to push her onto her back, but Liz had other ideas. She got on her knees and felt him move behind her. They won't be able to do this position that much longer and she wanted to enjoy it while she could, knowing how much he likes it.
Jason slowly entered her and savored how perfectly she surrounded him. As he began to stroke faster, Liz moved to meet him his thrusts and quickly was coming undone. "Harder, baby," she begged as Jason pumped faster, grabbing her hips so he could thrust into her deeper and soon Liz was moaning loudly and crumbling all around him. He started to lose control and then gave in to the bliss that followed.

Edward brought the tissue box over to Monica. "Are you going to tell me what happened?" he asked looking at her first and then at Tracy.
"Don't look at me," Tracy said sipping her tea.
Monica wiped her face and looked back up at him. "Jason was here."
Edward frowned. "Really? What did that cretin say to you?" he asked indignantly.
Monica glared at him. "Stop calling him names, Edward. Haven't we done enough damage to him?"
He sheepishly looked away knowing that what they have done to Jason was unfathomable.
"Sitting there seeing him cry and still in anguish after all of this time just destroyed me. We are responsible for so much pain that I don't think he'll ever forgive us," she said painfully.
Tracy glanced at Monica who is now sobbing. She put her teacup down and sat next to her and put her arm around her. "I'm sorry," she said softly.
Edward plopped onto a chair. He hates seeing Monica so broken. "There has got to be something we can do."
Monica looked up. "I told him that I loved him, but that I'd stay away. His wife is pregnant with a son. It killed me to even say that knowing I may never get to see his child."
Edward nodded. The wheels started turning and he knew what he needed to do. "I'm going to get something from the kitchen," he said walking out of the room.

Liz and Jason showered and changed and then went downstairs to get something to eat when Jason heard a knock on the door. He ran over to it and opened it up. "Edward?"
"Jason, may I come in?"
He stepped back and Edward moved inside. Liz stayed in the kitchen and just listened.
"I know this is highly irregular, but I need to say a few things to you," he said nervously.
Jason motioned for him to sit. He isn't sure that he wants to hear whatever Edward has to say, but the old man had caught him off guard.
"I need you to give Monica a chance."
Jason started to interrupt, but Edward cut him off. "Please, just listen. I have never seen her so broken. Even after your accident, she wasn't this distraught. She loves you. If you need someone to blame for all of this, then blame me. I'm the one that suggested that we put you away in the first place. I couldn't accept that you didn't choose us and had become this new person I didn't recognize. I was stubborn and ridiculously selfish. Lila never approved of it and I hate myself that because of me, you didn't get to see her before she passed on. There is no rule book to tell you how to deal with that kind of situation. Look, I'm not even asking you to forgive me. I don't even deserve it, but Monica fought for you and got you out of that horrific place, which I had shut down by the way. She's truly sorry Jason. You are her heart," he said emotionally.
When Edward had found out the atrocities that had gone on there, he made it his sole purpose to shut it down and called in a lot of favors to do so.
Jason sat there with tears in his eyes. "I just don't know what to do with all of my anger."
Edward studied his grandson for a moment. "Son, at this point, you need to find a way to turn it into love. It's not helping you to keep all of this bottled up inside of you. We can't go back and erase what happened or take away the pain that you suffered. If I had known how horrible that place was, I would have never put you through that. All we can do now is move forward and try to do what is right by you and your family."
Jason didn't know what to say. He is utterly speechless. Elizabeth entered the room and quickly made her way over to his side.
Edward smiled. "Well, hello. The pictures don't do you justice. I'm Edward, Jason's grandfather. Sorry I barged in on you, but it was past time that Jason got an apology. We're all truly sorry," Edward said glancing towards Jason. "Son, will you please come back to the mansion with me to see your mother. Please?"
Liz and Jason's gaze locked. She doesn't want him to feel bullied into going back there. She started to defend him when Jason grabbed her hand. This is something that he needs to deal with. "It's okay, Elizabeth." Tentatively, he looked over at Edward and exhaled. "We'll follow you."
Edward wiped a tear off of his face. He couldn't even speak right away. "I know I haven't done right by you, but thank you for doing this."
Jason stood and Edward threw caution to the wind and embraced him. At first Jason didn't return it, but he finally put his arm around the man which made Edward cry more. They finally broke apart. "Okay, I'll meet you over there," Edward said before walking out the door.
Liz held Jason tightly. "Are you sure you want to do this today?"
Jason pulled back and took a deep breath. "Yes. It needs to be done."
She nodded and went and put her shoes on. "Let's go then."
