A/N – Thanks for the reviews! Guest – My story actually mirrors the show with the Sonny/Jason/Q's relationship as do most stories on this site. If you think that Sonny only cared about business, and didn't care about Liz then I just don't know what to say to you because my story has more than implied otherwise. Jason deserved to get reamed out. Technically, Sonny's a mob boss and really it's his way or the highway. Jason was rightfully mad at Sonny, but it hurts way more when family betrays you. You can't compare a forced marriage to what his family did to him. Just because they thought they were doing what was best doesn't mean it was right. I guess I don't look at is a bad guy thing. Jason had a legitimate falling out with his family. I'm not trying to make it Sonny vs. the Q's. You are. Maybe I should have shown what was going on in Sonny's head more, but he wasn't the focus so I didn't.

Other Guest – Chapter 55 was the first time Jason opened up about the institution.

Chapter 57 – To Family

Jason knocked on the door of the mansion and Tracy answered. She softly smiled and said, "Hello, Jason." He nodded, surprised she was being nice. "This is my wife, Elizabeth."

Tracy said, "Hello." Healing this riff is bigger than her and it's what the family needs, so she had decided to be good. She stepped aside so they could walk past her and then led them to the sitting room. Edward is sitting in his usual spot and Monica is on the couch. He had only told Tracy that Jason was coming over.

Monica looked up and gasped. "Jason?"

He slightly smiled at her and she ran into his arms and cried as he hugged her tightly. There wasn't a dry eye in the room.

"I'm so happy that you came back," she said as they finally separated. She turned to Elizabeth and embraced her warmly. "It's good to see you again, please make yourself at home."

Alice watched from the doorway with a big smile on her face.

"Edward came to see me and he was rather convincing."

Monica glanced at Edward. "Thank you." Her focus went back to Jason. "I hope you know that we're all really sorry for everything."

"If we had known, we never would have put you through that," Edward added.

Jason nodded. It didn't take away the pain he had experienced, but at least they had apologized and wanted to make amends. "I want to say something to all of you too. I know that I was really angry and hard to deal with after the accident. I just had no control over my emotions. I'm sorry for the hurtful things that I said. I know I didn't make it easy on you, but as hard as it was for you, it was even more difficult for me. I had to come to grips with not remembering anything and that the person I was at the time was not acceptable to anyone around me. I can't even explain how hard that time period was for me. And yes, being in that hospital for a few months broke me. I didn't think I'd come back from it." Jason paused and Edward grimaced at his words.

"I know you don't like my line of work and feel that Sonny shouldn't have ever gotten me involved. I do understand why you feel that way and I'm not going to defend him. I want you to know that I'm not an enforcer anymore. I'm loyal to Sonny because he did accept me and got me through that time period, but I also get that he has faults and hasn't always had my best interest at heart. In the end, I do consider him a good friend. Our relationship is complicated. I know that being an enforcer was wrong, but it was what I was good at. It felt right to me and gave me purpose. I don't know how to explain that to you. No one forced me to be one. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I don't blame everything on you and I'll try if you're willing to."

Jason loves Elizabeth so much that he'd do anything for her and his child, even if that means reconciling with his family. It will take him a while to get beyond the hurt, but avoiding them and his feelings had affected him more than he wanted to admit. Continuing to avoid and hate them is hurting him deeply. It is time to start moving on and try to put the past in the past. Elizabeth being pregnant is putting things in a different perspective for him.

Monica smiled. "Thank you for saying that, Jason. We all appreciate it," she said squeezing his hand. She decided to lighten the discussion. Turning back to Liz, she said, "When are you due?"

"I'm sixteen weeks, so I still have a ways to go. The baby should be here sometime in April."

"And your pregnancy is going well?"

Liz nodded. "Yes. I'm a little moody, but other than that, all is well."

Edward chuckled. "Well, you'll fit right in here."

Liz smiled. "Good to know."

Alice interrupted them with some snacks.

"If you're trying to ply me with food, I just want you to know that it's working," Liz said before grabbing a few crackers.

Monica smiled. "You'll have to tell me what your favorites are so that I have them on hand."

"She'll eat pretty much anything right now," Jason said.

Liz frowned at him. "Hey!"

Edward chuckled. He likes her. She reminds him a little of Lila. He can also tell that Jason is wrapped around her little finger. "Liz, come here for a minute, please."

Liz got up and followed him over to the mantle. "This is my Lila."

"She's beautiful."

Edward glanced at Liz. "You remind me of her you know. She was caring, but would put you in your place in a heartbeat."

"I wish I would have gotten to meet her."

"She would have loved that too." He showed her some of the other members of the family.

"Thank you for bringing her with you. She is just lovely and I'm so happy for you," Monica said watching Liz interact with Edward.

"I love her so much that I'd do anything for her."

"I know that feeling."

Jason took her hand. "I want you in my life again. I want little Nacho to know his grandmother."

They are all in pain and he just wants to let it go and the baby will help join them back together as a family.

Edward spun around. "What are you calling my great-grandson?"

Liz laughed and explained where it came from and he laughed with her. "Cute."

Edward gazed around the room and just grinned. "I know this is being forward, but if all of this works out, I'd really love it if we could all get together for Thanksgiving. I know I have a lot to be thankful for," he said giving Liz a pat on the back.

Jason shook his head. Edward was always so pushy. "I'll tell you what, we should be back in our house by then, I'd like to do it there, but Sonny, Claudia, and Liz's parents will be invited as well. Of course, Alice and Cook are welcome to join us too."

Edward smiled and approached him. "I know I fought you tooth and nail about Sonny, but all that is important to me is that we are all together, so that's fine with me. Anyway, this isn't about Sonny, it's about our relationship with you." He will probably never like Sonny, but he wants to show Jason that he is willing to make a sacrifice.

Monica agreed. "Me too."

Edward looked over at Tracy. "How about you?"

Tracy rolled her eyes. "Fine, I'll wear my Kevlar."

Liz grinned.

"Then it's settled, Thanksgiving at the Morgan's house," Edward happily said.

They sat around and talked for another half-hour, and then Jason and Liz went home.

Later that day, Jason stopped at Sonny's house to let him know what happened.

Sonny listened to Jason carefully and then spoke. "I'm glad that you've let them back in. I always hoped that you would. They are your family. You know, when I offered you a job in the beginning, it wasn't just about business. I did feel bad for you because you were hurting so badly. The pain practically oozed out of you. Alan came to me and begged me to change my mind and you know, maybe I was selfish or jealous because my family would have never fought for me like that, but something about you made me want to fight for you and protect you. You are very important to me. I have always had a different relationship with you than any of the other men. I'm sorry if you feel that I've done wrong by you in any way. This business is a hard way of life and maybe I should have said no. I was just trying to let you make your own choices without judgment because it seemed so important to you. I didn't raise any kids, maybe that was the wrong thing to do," Sonny said thoughtfully. Part of him did feel guilty for not giving into Alan because then maybe they wouldn't have put Jason in that hospital.

Jason studied Sonny for a moment, surprised by his candor. "Sonny, ultimately, I'm the one that said yes to the job offer. I would never put all the blame on you. You gave me what I thought I needed back then and that is why I wanted to work for you."

"Do you regret it?" Sonny asked softly. He thought for a moment about how damaged Jason was after getting out of the hospital. It still upsets Sonny to think about it. He actually had Jason stay in his house because his nightmares were so bad that Sonny was scared that Jason would hurt himself. He had been restrained to a bed most of the time he had been in that place. Sometimes he was beaten and drugs were forced on him. They would just leave him in a room restrained for days and then wouldn't even take him to the bathroom to get Jason to do what they wanted.

"Sometimes, but ultimately, I like my life. It can be dangerous, but it fits me and as much as I hated you for that wedding, I may not have met Elizabeth otherwise. Maybe all of this was fate." Jason isn't sure if he believes in such things, but it made sense to say it.

Sonny paused and took a deep breath. "Jason, I want you to know that I love you like a brother. I know I can be difficult, but don't ever forget that okay?"

Jason nodded. "Okay."

"Let's have a toast," Sonny said holding up his drink. He pressed his glass against Jason's beer. "To family…"

Jason smiled. It had been quite a while since he felt like everything is going to be alright. Healing his old wounds is opening up a lot of things for him and he is grateful.
