Through the memories

First, Happy New Year to all my readers! I hope 2023 will be wonderful for you and your friends and families and that you will enjoy my stories.

Anyway, I wanted to change fandom for the end of the past year but I've decided it will be better to begin this new year with this story here is my first Zelink story because I ship them so much and I can't ship any of them with anyone else in any game. I don't know yet if this story will be epilogue compliant or if I'll make a happy ending and kill the Calamity before Link's century-long coma. Rated T for now but I may add explicit scenes later.

Chapter 1: Blades of the Yigas

"I should have listened to Urbosa and let her accompany me on the way through the desert from Gerudo Town to Kara Kara Bazaar!" thought the princess of Hyrule as she was running for her life trying to escape a member of the 'Traitors Clan' as Impa called them.
But when she saw two other Yigas in front of her she stopped and turned around to run back in the other direction. Then, she fell on the ground as she understood that she's been trapped. As one of her assailants approached her and lifted his weapon to kill her, she closed her eyes desperately hoping for a last second miracle.

As soon as Link saw his princess (and secret crush) being ambushed by the Yigas from the other side of the oasis, he sprinted around the small lake, put the Master Sword out of its sheath and sliced the Yiga's hand just in time. He then placed himself between the two remaining assailants and the princess holding his sword in a protective way. The Yigas took a few steps backwards while Zelda looked at her savior with wide eyes and immediately regretted all the bad things that she said to him as she finally admitted to herself that she had been falling in love with him since she first saw him.

Once the Yigas had retreated, Link waited a few moments to be sure that they wouldn't come back with some more soldiers. He then sheathed his sword and held out his hand for Zelda. She took it and raised herself up.
She then engulfed him in a hug.

"Thank you for saving me despite of the way I treated you until now. I'm really sorry for that, by the way. I hope we can be friends from now on."

Link was surprised at first but soon returned the hug.
"Don't worry, your Highness! It's nothing, you just thought that you didn't need any protection and you now realize that you were wrong."

"Yes, I was very wrong. But please, stop calling me by a noble title when we're just the two of us, and start calling me by my name instead."
"No problem, Zelda. And yes, I would like to be your friend. I suggest that we get to know each other better tonight and we'll see where that takes us!"
"I agree that we should do that."

They got to the Gerudo Canyon Stable and decided to sleep camp near the shrine to not be disturbed as they didn't want any random citizen to hear what they were going to say to one another. Or see what they were both secretly hoping would happen between them.

They got along pretty well considering where they started. The better they got to know each other, the deeper they fell in love. As the sun was falling and the coldness was rising, they gradually closed the distance between them until they were so close that Link wrapped his arm around her waist.
They stared deeply into each other's eyes and started to close the distance between their faces until their eyes closed and their lips met. Link placed his other arm around her waist and pulled Zelda on his lap with their legs crossed and she wrapped her arms around his neck and their kiss deepened.
When the lack of air became a high priority, they broke their kiss but kept their foreheads touching.

"Wow! That was much better than what I expected my first kiss to be. It might be a little too soon but I love you so much, Link! It's even a reason why I was so cold to you since a part of me didn't want to accept those feelings, but now, I know that I don't want to deny them anymore."

"I love you too, Zel!" She felt her heart pounding at the nickname. "I always knew you are the most beautiful woman I'll ever have the pleasure to see! But I think it is safer for now if we keep this a secret because your father would kill me if he knew but I'd be dying anyway if I don't ask this. So, Zelda Hyrule, will you be my secret girlfriend?"

"I'd love to be your girlfriend, Link! Even if it's only in secret, but you're right when you say it's safer that way! And I have a debt towards you after all!" she answered and gave him another kiss. "And I love when you call me Zel!"

He took one more kiss before they laid on the ground and fell asleep still with Zelda's back to his torso and Link's arms still around her waist.
