Ember's arrival
On a landing plane, 1 of the passengers, a 19 year old pale-white skinned girl named Ember McLain, was holding on to her seat in a bit of anxiety, as she really didn't like flying in planes. Ember had long, flaming blue hair put into a ponytail at the top of her head held back, she had two locks of hair framing her face which looked like a sharp-angled "M" and purple lipstick. Her clothing consisted of a black choker around her neck, a black one-shouldered tank top exposing her midriff and some of her cleavage. She wore a black-silver leather jacket but with a Robin's egg blue symbol with her name on the back, and for her bottom clothing, she wore black short jeans and a black panty with braces attached to them, and silver skull combat boots for footwear.
The guy next to her looked at her and smiled a bit. "You don't like flying, do you, kiddo?"
Ember looked at the man and asked sarcastically. "Really, what gives it away?"
The man thought to help her a bit despite her sarcasm. "Wanna know the secret to surviving air travel?" He asked, making Ember look at him. "After you get where you're going, take off your footwear and socks, and walk around on a rug barefoot and make fists with your toes."
Ember raised an eyebrow at that. "Fists with your toes?"
The man laughed and said. "I know, it sounds stupid. But trust me I've been doing it for 9 years. Better than a shower and a hot cup of coffee. Hahaha."
Ember, despite her rebellious and punk/rock personality, managed to smile a bit. "Okay. I'll keep that in mind." She said before getting up with the other passengers and getting her guitar from the luggage container above, showing the man the handle of a gun strapped to her shoulder under her jacket. But she assured him. "Relax, it's okay. I'm a part time consultant for the NYPD." She explained, getting a nod from him. "Trust me, I've been doing it for at least 2 years."
When Ember got her guitar and other luggage down, she got off the plane with the others and made her way to the front of the airport, finding a bench where she could sit and wait for her transportation. But while waiting, she took out a pack of cigarettes from her pocket and got 1 out, using her hair to light up as she took a drag and blew out the smoke. "Fuck, I really needed that. Can't believe I had to fly 3,000 miles to get to a Christmas party." She complained a bit before taking another drag from her cigarette and inhaling before blowing out the smoke from her nose. "Still, it is for Danny after all. And…it's still hard for me to believe how far I've gotten ever since that big incident with his parents' machine and how much he helped me a lot after that. And…how we've been together ever since." Then she put her cigarette between her lips while thinking about Danny and how much he and she had come ever since they met some time ago. And to think it all started with parents' machine that got Ember the life she'd wanted, and even more than she could have dreamed of when she was alive.
Flashback, 4 years ago
Lying unconscious on the floor, Danny slowly opened his eyes. He felt strange.
As his vision became better, he saw his 2 best friends; the black haired goth girl named Sam and the techno-geek African-American boy named Tucker, both looking down at Danny in shock of what happened to him. "Danny...?!" Sam asked worried
"Dude, are you okay?!" Tucker asked as he couldn't believe his eyes what happened to Danny.
Danny rubbed his head. "Uuugh...! I... I think so, but..." But then he remembered that he was flashed with an enormous amount of green-ghost energy when he'd turned on the on-switch inside the Fenton-Portal his parents failed to turn on a few hours before. He gasped as he looked down at his jumpsuit, as the colors black and white had switched. "Huh?" He asked while he tried to stand up, looking at himself in the mirror, gasping in shock that his black-raven hair was now white as snow and his blue eyes were now glowing green. "AAAAAAH! Wha... What happened to me?"
Trying to process what had happened, as he was shockingly able to phase through walls and could turn invisible, and even could fly, Danny and his friends came to the conclusion that the accident with the portal must've granted him ghost powers. Sam thought it was kinda cool, as it would make Danny unique in her eyes, while Tucker had a bit mixed feeling about it as he was unsure if it was something good or bad, but regardless, he just rolled with it.
However, as the days passed, Danny had it more and more difficult to control his new powers and even had a hard time to hide it from anyone, especially from his parents as they were both scientists and fanatic ghost hunters. Danny was unsure if he should tell them and embrace the consequences and his possible fear of being turned into a guinea pig for his parents experiments, or to keep it a secret. Though Sam told him that he shouldn't tell his parents as she believes parents never understand their teenage kids' problems, deep down, Danny was unsure if he could hold it in.
His big sister, 16 year old Jasmine (Jazz), was the only one in the family who'd noticed her little brother's changing behavior. As the smart girl she is, she knew it was not the changing hormones or puberty that every teenage boy goes through. So, she decided to go to his room and try to talk with him.
Jazz stood before Danny's bedroom door, knocking on it. "Danny? Are you in there?"
"Uhh-uh-uh...! No! I mean... YES! No, I mean...!" Danny stuttered, sounding as if he was in a panic, confusing Jazz.
"What's going on in there?"
In his room, Danny had accidentally turned himself invisible and desperately tried to turn back to normal. He focused hard. "Turn back. Turn back. Turn back!" And after a few seconds, his body became visible again, relieving him.
Jazz knocked at the door again. "Danny? Are you alright?"
Danny opened the door, giving her a nervous smile. "Hey, Jazz! Yeah, I'm... fine. Everything's just fine."
However, Jazz isn't easily fooled and could see through Danny's lies as she has an act of recognizing someone who's lying. She narrows her eyes at him at first, but then softly asks him as a worried sister normally is about her sibling. "Can I come in for a moment?"
Danny was unsure, not wanting to accidentally use his powers again in front of her, but said with an uneasy smile "Uh... sure. Come in." Before he closed the door as soon as Jazz came in.
Jazz sat on his bed, gesturing to him to sit next in his chair that was in front of his desk. Danny sat down, as Jazz tells him. "Danny, is there perhaps something you'd like to talk about?"
Danny shook his head "No. What... makes you say that I have a problem?"
"I never said that you were in trouble. It's just that I have been noticing lately that you've been acting all... weird."
Danny narrowed his eyes on her, not feeling he wanted to share anything with his know-it-all big sister. "Weird as in 'overly complex teenage stuff weird' or 'the kind of 'abnormally weird that's anything but normal for you'?" He asked with a bit of sarcasm.
Jazz sighed as she shook her head. "None of them actually. I'm just saying that you have been acting all mysterious and coming up with all kind of weird excuses to try to avoid me and Mom and Dad."
"I'm fine, Jazz. I'm just dealing with some issues I have to work on my own." Danny partly lied, though also partly true.
Jazz, showing her little brother she just wants to help. "Danny, you don't have to shut me out. Believe me, you'll feel way better if you open yourself and tell what's bothering you."
Now, acting within his angry puberty-mode, said as he rose up from his chair. "Jazz, has it ever come into you that it's perhaps none of your business? I mean, I NEVER keep asking what your problems are, or anyone else's!" Then he began to snap. "Just as you may think you have a right to invade my privacy as you think you're trying to help me, BUT YOU'RE NOT! You'll never help anyone by interfering into businesses that don't concern you one goddamn bit!" he turned himself with his arms crossed "Just... leave me alone!"
Hearing those words did kind of hurt Jazz's feelings, making her look sad. Though she wanted to persist in trying to find out what has been bothering Danny lately, she knew it would be pointless as he's clearly too angry to open himself. "I'm sorry. I just wanted to help you." Before she stood up from the bed. "And I'm not trying to invade your privacy or use this opportunity to improve my therapy skills. I only just wanted to talk to you and try to help you, because... you're my little brother."
Danny's anger slowly faded, making him think back to when they were little, when Jazz always tried to be there for Danny whenever he was in trouble or being there for him whenever their parents' couldn't as they were too busy with their ghost inventions. And the words that Jazz said that she only wanted to be there for him simply because he's her little brother, made Danny regret the harsh words he just said to her.
Jazz sighed and walked to the door. "I'll... leave you be then."
But just as she opened the door and was about to leave, Danny turned and called her back. "Jazz... wait!" Making her stop and glance back at him before he said with words of regret. "I... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said those things to you. I know you've always tried to protect me and all."
Jazz smiled and came back inside after closing the door. "Then why did you say those things?"
"I just... I just want to try to deal with it myself as I'm not a little kid anymore."
Jazz crossed her arms and asked back "And how's that working out for you so far?"
Danny rolled his eyes and looked away.
Jazz then put her hand on his shoulder. "Danny, just because you're growing up, doesn't mean you have to face all of the world's problems on your shoulders alone. The only way to actually grow is to open yourself, allowing the people you're closest to to help you and guide you the proper way, and not by isolating yourself from everyone and thinking that you're the only one dealing with these issues."
Danny narrowed his eyes, as he was as sure as hell that he was truly the only one in the whole world dealing with ghost powers that he hasn't have any control over yet
"Yeah, well... I beg to differ."
"Then at least try talk with me about it so I can try to understand." Jazz offered softly.
Danny was unsure if he should tell his sister. But feeling how much his sister's words were true and couldn't handle dealing with his ghost-problem himself, maybe Jazz could at least try to help. Giving a very big sigh, he turned himself, facing Jazz. "Well, there's..." But words failed him, unsure he should tell her.
Jazz formed a smile of understanding, as she was showing that whatever he's dealing with, she could handle it. "Tell me."
Feeling sweat coming from his head, making accidentally his left arm go intangible, he tried to say. "Well... there was... a little 'incident' last week in Mom and Dad's lab downstairs..."
That made Jazz raise an eyebrow. "An incident?" Then she gasped in shock. "What incident?!" But then as she got worried, she checked on him. "Did Mom and Dad's experiment hurt you somehow?!"
"U-uh.. well, I-"
"Did one of those inventions mess with your head?! Or awkward places on your body?!" Jazz said with even more worry, making Danny frustrated. "Did you got zapped, or spoiled with that green ecto-thing that Dad made-"
"I HAVE GHOST POWERS, OKAY!?" Danny yelled out, making him gasp and covered his mouth by saying out loud he had ghost powers.
Jazz was prepared for anything that Danny might be telling what problem he was having. Anything... but that.
Jazz looked in shock. "Wait... wait?!"
Suddenly, Maddie and Jack broke down the door and rushed in with ghost-riffles in hand. "Did somebody say ghosts?!" Maddie called out.
Raising his rifle, Jack looks around. "Are there ghosts in here?!"
This was not something that Danny wished to happen, knowing that if his parents heard even a small bit about ghosts, they would immediately rush in with guns and inventions in hand. But seeing that the damage had already been done, Danny sighs with a sad look on his face, he said. "I said that... I have ghost powers."
Maddie and Jack both paused, looking at their son surprised. "What now?" Maddie asks with a raised eyebrow, at first thinking it's a joke.
Danny was unsure what to say, fearing what his parents would do to him. But as he felt Jazz's hand on his shoulder, showing him that he would have her back, Danny felt a bit more confident. So, with a bit of a sigh, he told his parents. "Something happened to me in the lab last week, when you guys finished the ghost portal."
Jack and Maddie share a glance.
"When you guys were gone, my friends came over and I showed them what you guys had built but told them it wouldn't work. So..." But he began to fear what they're response would be. "...I put on one of the jumpsuits in the lab and decided to see what was wrong with the portal. Then I... accidentally pressed the on-button that was in it..." Jack and Maddie shared a look of shock "... and then... this happened..." Danny said, allowing himself to transform into his ghost form.
Jack, Maddie gasped in shock, dropping their guns on the floor.
"Yeah. When that portal finally was on, I was hit by so much ghost energy I... became a half-ghost, I think..." He said, before closing his eyes tight, preparing himself to be 'dissected' or something.
But instead, he was embraced in a tight hug from his mother. "Oooh! Danny, my dear boy! How... how could this have happened?!" Before she checked on him, seeing if he was hurt, feeling all kinds of emotions running through her, as this was the last thing any parent wanted to happen to their own child as a result of their own invention.
Jack was baffled and shocked at the same time. "You... have ghost powers now?!" but then he smiled brightly. "Which means... I WAS RIGHT THIS WHOLE TIME AND GHOST DO EXIST!"
However, that enthusiastic response earned a glare from both Maddie and Jazz. "Jack/Dad."
"Dad!" Danny said with annoyance and very angered. "Seriously?! LOOK AT ME!"
Jack instantly regretted his words, feeling so sorry what happened to him.
The next day, after school
"YOU TOLD THEM?!" Sam asked, shockingly angry at Danny because he told his parents that he has ghost powers.
Danny said as they walked down the street to his house. "I didn't want to say it to them. It... popped out of nowhere!"
Sam sighs annoyed while burying her hands in her face, feeling this was gonna turn into something bad for her best friend.
Tucker on the other hand, being both proud of Danny for having the courage to tell his parents, while also being a bit worried as Sam what will happen to him, asked. "So... how did they take it?"
"They were really shocked and disbelieved what happened to me with the Fenton Portal," Danny stated "My dad was feeling so sorry that this happened to me, and my Mom... Man, I think she's been crying for over an hour as she was so sorry what happened to me," now Danny felt really sad "Though I'm happy they didn't turn me into a ghost-lab rat or something, I feel really sad that I made them so worried and sad about the whole thing."
"But at least you've told them, dude." Tucker said, trying to make Danny feel better. "That takes a lot of courage. And now that the truth is out and they took it pretty well, more or less, it might be a good thing for you."
"A GOOD THING?!" Sam stopped, yelling at Tucker. "Why would it be a good thing?! Parents don't help and don't understand at all." she then yelled out, sharing her own frustrations of dealing with her stupid parents "WHY CAN'T THEY ACCEPT ME FOR WHO I AM?!"
Danny narrowed his eyes at her, reminding her. "Sam, we're talking about my powers. My problems."
Sam apologized while blushing in awkwardness. "Oh right... me too."
Tucker then asked as they walked further. "So, what happens now? Are your folks gonna accept it or...?"
Danny sighs as he stated. "Well, after the whole thing had finally settled down, my Mom and Dad said that they will help me in any way. I think the both of them haven't even left the lab all night long."
Sam narrowed her eyes and told Danny. "I told you that it was a bad idea to tell them, Danny. Now your folks are probably planning to dissect you for all we know."
Danny however was sure that they wouldn't do that to him. "Seriously, Sam? Do you think your own parents would do that to you, if you were in my shoes?" He asked while narrowing his eyes at her.
Sam shook her head. "No, no, no, I didn't say that! I'm just... Well, with the both of them not leaving their lab, who knows what they're up to."
All three stood before Fenton Works. Tucker and Sam both looked at Danny, who was for some reason... scared to go back home. "Well, what now?" Tucker asked him.
Danny sighed. "Well, better face whatever will happen. Hopefully it won't turn into something bad for me." Before he slowly approached the front door, opening it.
Danny carefully came inside, waiting for whatever he would face. He then saw his parents in the kitchen, working on a whole new invention, seeing them tired and clearly overly worked. "Uhh... Hi." Danny said awkwardly.
Jack and Maddie looked, being glad to see their son home safe and sound. Maddie ran over to him, asking worriedly while grabbing his shoulders. "You okay?! Any... problems with your powers at school?"
Danny shook his head, ensuring her. "No, Mom. Nothing happened," but then said with honesty. "Well, there was this one time I suddenly walked through a wall, but nobody saw me." But then he asked. "But what's going on here? You both look like you've been going through a night-shift without taking a single break."
Jack answered while closing the invention. "That's because your mother and I have been working on this thing all night long."
Maddie then told further. "Danny... we're so, so, so sorry what happened to you. But after your father and I have talked, we might have a solution to your new 'ghost powers'."
"You do?" Danny asked, while Sam and Tucker came in.
"We might have found a way to actually get all that ghost-ecto-energy out of your system and cure you from being a half-ghost." Jack stated and showed the nearly completed invention, which looked like a cube-formed portable supercomputer. "This is the Fenton Ghost-Eraser."
"Eraser?" Danny asked worriedly.
Jack nodded and stated what it could do. "After doing a few tests with the small DNA sample from you, your mother and I may have found a way to cure you from being a ghost and getting rid of all these ghost-powers."
"Really?" Danny smiled with hope.
Maddie nodded but said with some uncertainty. "However, it's not completed yet and your father and I need to do a lot of calculations if it will truly work as we... don't want anything bad to happen more than what you're in now because of our actions." She finished with a very sad face.
Danny felt truly relieved that his parents weren't as the cold-hearted ghost-scientists that he always thought, but truly were caring more about their children's safety than their obsession with ghosts. Danny hugged his mother, with tears of joy forming in his eyes.
Tucker smiled too, being glad that Danny's parents accepted what happened and were going to do anything to help his best friend. Sam however formed a face of mistrust, being skeptical of the Fenton's intentions.
The next day
Jack and Maddie had called Danny and Jazz over to the basement lab. Tucker and Sam were also with them, wanting to be there with their best friend for whatever his parents had made that could possibly 'cure him' from his ghost powers. Several equipment, lab material and a few machines were placed around the lab, with a hospital bed being placed in the middle, with the Fenton Ghost-Eraser placed on a desk next to the bed.
While Jack attached some wires with the Fenton Ghost-Eraser to the Ghost Portal, Maddie explained to her son. "Now, after your father and I spent countless hours on finding the right calculations on Ecto Ghost-Energy, we've found the right procedure to hopefully cure you from these ghost powers that're now infused into your DNA."
Jack nodded and connected the last wire to the Fenton Portal, making them glow with green energy, supplying the Fenton Ghost-Eraser with the necessary ecto-energy, added. "However, your mother and I noticed that this very special and very dangerous procedure requires lots and lots of power, which is near impossible to get to, unless we had a nuclear reactor, which unfortunately we don't have and will never have with our budget. So, instead, we're using what we have here right now! Ecto plasmic energy coming right from the Ghost-Zone, with the Fenton Portal serving as the perfect 'lightning conductor' to channel all the necessary power we need straight into the Fenton Ghost-Eraser!"
As this sounded like a perfect plan, Danny grew nervous when his father mentioned that this procedure would be very dangerous. "Uhm... Dad? What did you mean that this will be dangerous?"
Jack sighed and stated as he walked up to him. "Well, there is unfortunately a chance that this thing could backfire." That made Danny very worried, but his father showed him a paper with their calculations "But, rest assured, son. We've calculated that there's a 78% chance that this would succeed."
Tucker patted Danny's shoulder. "Well, that's a good thing, right, Danny?"
However, Sam was very skeptical and demanded. "And what about the other 22% chance?"
Jack was a bit unsure to say it, but answered. "Well... there is a small 12% chance that actually, nothing would happen and Danny would remain a half-ghost for the rest of his life, and an 8% chance that the plan would only sever his ghost powers."
"And the other 2%?"
"That Danny will turn into an ecto-mush."
"WHAT?!" Sam and Jazz called out at the same time.
"You're saying that this sick experiment that you think will help Danny, could actually kill him?!" Jazz asked horrified while holding Danny close, like she was protecting him.
"Like hell you guys are going to do this to him!" Sam added, not wanting Danny to go through with this.
But, to their surprise, Danny pushed them out of the way, walking determinedly to the hospital bed and sat on it. "Let's do this."
Jazz and Sam looked in shock that Danny was going through with this without a single doubt.
But Tucker, being only a bit worried, asked him. "You sure about this, dude?"
"Tucker, who else am I supposed to go with this 'condition'?" Danny asked while narrowing his eyes at him. "To the hospital? Do any of you know by any chance doctors who specialize in people who have ghost powers after an accident in his parents lab?"
Tucker, Sam and Jazz exchanged glances.
"I didn't think so." Before he then shared a hopeful smile. "Besides... there's a big chance this will work, right?"
Tucker, Sam and Jazz shared a look of uncertainty.
After Danny took off his shirt, Maddie placed some leads on his chest connecting to a heart monitor and calculating machines.
Sam, as a last attempt to make him consider, told as she held his hand. "Danny, you don't have to do this. Your powers, though not having any control over it yet, makes you unique. Unique is good." She said with a small smile.
But Danny narrowed his eyes at her "So what? I'm supposed to live for the rest of my life like this? Live forever as a half-ghost freak?!"
Sam shook her head, as she never wanted to make him angry. "No, I'm not saying that. It's just-"
"Just what, Sam?!" Danny almost yelled. "This isn't some MARVEL or DC UNIVERSE superhero movie we're living in. This is real life! My life!" Before he laid on the hospital bed, ready to go through it no matter what. "I'd rather live a normal life, then forever be a 'unique' half-ghost outcast or weapon to be used by the government."
Seeing it was pointless, Sam sighed sadly and took a few steps back. Plus, he had a point that if the government ever found out about Danny and his powers, they'd probably experiment on him to replicate them for military use or political gain. "Okay."
While Jack started typing things on a few keyboards, Maddie attached the final wires to Danny. With a sad, but also determined face, she told Danny as she stroked his head and held his hand. "Just know that no matter what happens, I just want you to know that... I love you, Danny..." Her voice sounded like that this could be the last moment to hold her son alive. Hell, even ready to face the consequences if Danny could die from this.
"I know you do, Mom." Danny assured her.
Jack sighed deep, ready to type in the last things before hoping to help his son. "We're ready. After this... there's no going back."
Danny glanced over to his sister, who almost couldn't hold back her tears as she was so worried for what could happen to her little brother worse than this. Then Danny glanced at Tucker, who gave him a bit of an assuring thumbs up, but was just as worried and scared like the others, while Sam glanced at him with extreme worry, hoping that he would change his mind at the last moment. Danny closed his eyes before glancing at his parents, giving him a simple nod, showing he was ready.
Jack gave a nod back, and pressed the final button.
A roaring sound came from the Fenton Ghost-Eraser, with the wires attached to Danny beginning to glow blue. Then, the wires attached to the Ghost Portal turned green, absorbing the ecto-energy from the Ghost-Zone, making the spinning green vortex in the portal slowly spin faster. The green glowing wires glow brighter, sending the energy into the Fenton Ghost-Eraser before sending them to Danny, making him grunt very uncomfortably as the first bits of EctoPlasm were removed from his DNA. The heart monitors showed an increase of Danny's heartbeat and blood pressure as the calculating machines began to write lots of data like crazy.
But as the machines pulled more and more EctoPlasm from Danny's system, it began to hurt him. "Uuuuurgh! Aaaaah! It... this is getting very... uncomfortable...!"
Sam called out in extreme worry. "Shut it down!"
But Tucker held her "There's nothing we can do, Sam. This is Danny's choice."
"Aaaaaaah! It...!" Danny began to feel lots of pain. "It hurts! It fucking hurts!" He cursed out.
Maddie glanced worriedly at her husband while still holding Danny's hand tightly. "Jack?!"
Jack looked at the monitors. "We're only at 20%"
The vortex in the ghost portal began to spin even faster, forming a bright green light.
"23%"
Danny's body began to shake heavily out of its own, transforming in and out constantly into his ghost form and human form, while the wires kept draining his ghost powers. The Fenton Ghost-Eraser began to overheat, with smoke coming out of it while shaking heavily.
Tucker barely could hold Sam as she tried to stop this. "STOP! PLEASE STOP IT, YOU'RE KILLING HIM!" Sam begged as she yelled. Even Jazz had to hold Sam now with all her might.
"33%" Jack called.
Suddenly, Danny's eyes began to glow green bright while he was floating in the air, constantly going in and out of his ghost form while shaking heavily. Some wires got lose, while sparks came from all the machines. The heart monitor showed that Danny's heartbeat was now far above the average.
Then... Danny released an enormous yell. "AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
Sam cried out, fearing Danny was about to die. "NOOOO! STOP IT! STOOOOOOOP!"
A big boost of energy was pulled hard out of Danny. But instead of the Fenton Ghost-Eraser catching it, it was all sent straight into the ghost portal, overheating it while a green/blue glowing light formed. The Fenton Ghost-Eraser began to crack and glowed blue and green before... a big shockwave was sent out, knocking everything and everyone in the lab backwards, hitting the walls!
Danny kept yelling as the last bits of energy was pulled into him, making him scream in agony as this pain was far beyond anything "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"
But from the Ghost-Portal, a big scream was heard from the inside, as if all the ghosts in the Ghost-Zone were yelling in agony. And as a result of the shockwave, all power across Amity Park went out.
Jack's monitor quickly showed 87% complete, then jumped to 99% and finally... 100%
Danny, still floating in the air, now in his human form, fell on the floor, landing with a thud, motionless.
All grunted while trying to collect themselves. "DANNY!" Maddie yelled in worry and ran to him, dropping before her unconscious son. She held him in her arms. "Danny...? Danny...!"
Then... Danny groans while slowly opening his eyes. "Uuugh..." As he looked at his mother, he formed a little smile. "Did... did we do it?"
Maddie, crying out of joy, hugged him tight. "Danny!"
Sam, Tucker, Jazz and Jack ran over to him, seeing if he was okay. But much to their relief, Danny was still alive.
A bit earlier, just before Danny's procedure
The ghost of Ember McLain, who'd died in a fire on December 20th, 1978, was hanging out with her friends, Kitty and Johnny 13, talking about this 'new portal' that was found and could maybe lead into the human world. "So you're telling me that a new portal was found and can lead to the human world?"
"Yeah. I don't see any other reason besides another ghost coming to someone else's territory for a portal to just randomly open up." Kitty answered.
"And if it's true that this portal leads to the human world, what's to stop us from going through it and having some fun?" Johnny asked with eagerness.
Ember thought about that but, with Kitty and Johnny being her only friends here at the moment, didn't want to risk anything happening to them if this was just a wild goose chase or something about this portal didn't seem right. So, she told them. "Okay. But I don't want us getting our hopes up or if this portal is the real thing, I don't wanna take any risks, so I'm gonna check it out 1st. After that, I'll come back and let you guys know if it's safe. Got it?"
Kitty and Johnny both understood her reason why she wanted to check this out herself 1st and nodded. "You got it, girl. We'll be right here and ready when you're back."
Johnny shook his friend's hand and told her. "Good luck, Ember."
"Thanks, Johnny. And you guys better keep my place clean when I get back." Ember said before grabbing her guitar and going to the location of the portal, which wasn't that far from her ghost home. And when she got to it, and checked the portal out, she was shocked to see the vortex acting differently and glowing blue and green, before a shockwave came and hit her, as well as spreading throughout the entire Ghost-Zone and severing hers and the other ghosts connection to their powers, but also hurting them greatly. "Aaaahhh! Uuugh! AAAAAAAAHHHHHH! FUUUUUUCK! WHAT'S…HAPPENING?! AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Ember screamed in agony as she slowly walked through the portal, entering the human world.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the portal
While Danny's parents and the others tried to see if the procedure worked on him, Sam suddenly saw a very weakened and hurt Ember coming from the portal. "Uhhh…Mr and Mrs Fenton?"
"What?" Maddie asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Look." A very surprised Tucker said while pointing to the portal.
Everyone else, including Danny, who'd gotten off the bed, looked at the portal and saw Ember coming out of it, very weak and hurt from what had happened to her. 'Is that…a ghost?' Danny thought to himself while seeing that this girl ghost looked very, very…beautiful.
Ember tried with the last of her strength to open her eyes and saw the people in front of her, saying weakly and in agonizing pain. "Please…help me. Please….help…" Before falling unconscious on the lab floor.
But just as Maddie and Jack got their ghost hunting weapons and we're about to vaporize the ghost intruder, Danny stopped them by crying out. "NO! MOM! DAD, WAIT!" Before he got between them and Ember and took her into his arms, telling them. "You guys can't hurt her. She's obviously hurt from that shockwave from your machine and was asking for help, so let's help her." Before he placed Ember on the hospital bed.
Everyone else shared a shocked and confused look as to why Danny wanted to help this female ghost. But wanting to know what happened to her to be hurt and weak like this, they decided to help Ember.
Flashback end
With her cigarette still in her mouth, Ember smiled as she closed her eyes for a moment and slowly breathed out the smoke. Ember sure was lucky to have Danny, who'd been protective and kind to her from the very start and even helped her to settle down in the human world, with her moving to New York to become a rockstar and had become really close to Danny. Although Sam still didn't really see her as a friend, Tucker however was more open and even helped her around sometimes. Danny's family, though having to get used to having a ghost around without 'hunting' on her, Danny's support and being protective eventually made them see that not all ghosts are bad and accepted that she was a good person as she'd shown not having any evil intentions anymore since her ghost powers were also very severed like Danny's cause of their invention.
Ember sighed as she took her cigarette from her mouth, putting it out in a nearby ashtray. "Gotta admit. Danny being all 'goody two shoes' sure affected me in a good way eventually." She chuckled. "Especially me being a part time New York cop consultant and freelance guitarist." And that last word made her a bit sad. Though she'd hoped to become a world famous rock star, her music career didn't go as expected, as her powers were severed, including that she was no longer able to influence or control people with her hypnotic singing voice.
Although Ember's song 'Remember' did become a great hit in the US, her other songs however weren't as successful, which made her sad and depressed. Ember remembered... that last year, Danny, after hearing how sad she was how things went downhill for her, he had come all the way to New York to just be there with her for a few days and comfort her and telling she shouldn't give up, something that Ember deeply appreciated, as nobody had ever been this kind to her in both her life and afterlife.
Ember smiled, while a small tear formed in her left eye. She wiped the tear away before looking down at her gun that she kept in her jacket pocket. Those few days of him comforting him and encouraging her to not give up and use her powers maybe for something else, were the moment that changed everything for her, as she decided to make a change and work part time for the NYPD.
However, her thoughts were interrupted when she was called. "Hey, Ember! Over here!"
Ember gave a small groan in annoyance, as she recognized that voice. She looked and saw it was Tucker, wearing a suit and sunglasses. Signing deeply, she stood up, taking her guitar and walked over to him. "Hey, Tucker. It's been a long time. What are you doing here?" She asked with a small frown.
Tucker formed a smug as he stated. "I'm your limo driver. Danny said you needed a favor, so... Here I am!"
Hearing that made Ember raise an eyebrow at him. "Seriously? You? A limo driver?"
"That's my job." Tucker gave a shrug.
As they walked to the front exit, Ember wandered. "I thought you moved to LA to become some entrepreneur, or something? What happened? Did your brilliant business strategy fail you?" She mocked him a bit with a grin.
Tucker rolled his eyes with annoyance, but stated, staying friendly. "Well... yeah, it kinda failed me, yeah. But hey. A guy's got to do something for a living these days, right?"
"That's true."
"Plus, I meet new and interesting people."
"Be careful, though. You never really know what some of those interesting people are capable of. But don't let that get to you." Ember said with a smile.
Both arrived at the limo, with Ember deciding to sit at the front. Along the way through the city, Tucker stated. "I've been doing this cab and limo business for 6 months now, and business is going good for a change. Most of the time I drive a limo to either pick up some VIP's, but most of the time it's business friends of Joe to bring them to the Nakatomi tower, or bringing them to their designated hotels, or showing them around the city if I get the chance. Other than that, I sometimes drive a normal cab."
"I see." Ember said while taking out a new cigarette from her pack. "You don't mind if I smoke one?"
Tucker shook his head and pressed a button, opening her side window a bit. "Be my guest." Before he then asked. "Ever driven in one of these babies before?"
Ember shook her head while using her flaming hair to light her cigarette, inhaling the smoke. "It's my first time ridin' in 1."
Tucker ensured her. "Relax. We got everything in this baby, Em. Look at this- CD, C.B., TV, telephone, full bar, DVD, we even have Blu-Ray installed." And when Ember saw a dirty plastic bag from Burger King between her and Tucker, he apologized and put it on the floorboard. "Sorry about that. I didn't know you were gonna sit up front."
"That's okay, Tucker." Ember said before taking a drag from her cigarette.
Tucker shrugged before saying. "I know I'm not supposed to judge you or anything, but... you do know that those things can kill you, right?" He asked as he meant that smoking wasn't healthy at all for the body.
Ember narrowed her eyes at Tucker. "I know that, Tuck. I'm not stupid." Before she took another drag before blowing out the smoke. "I only smoke for stress relief, AND for your information: I'm a ghost, which means I'm already fuckin' dead."
That earned a surprised look on his face. "What?"
Seeing him like that made her chuckle. "I'm just kidding. Though I am a ghost, I know I can die a second time, if I'm not careful. Relax. I'm not getting addicted to these things." She assured him as she held out her cigarette. "I only need them in case of stress at work or after an airplane flight."
"Okay, I get it." Tucker nodded, before he asked with a small grin on his face "So... is it true you and Danny are a thing now?"
"What gives you that idea?" Ember asked while narrowing her eyes at him.
"C'mon now, Em. You and Danny are nearly inseparable. You two are like magnets after not having seen each other for a long time, not to mention the few times you two share, especially when you two got all 'hot under the collar' during senior prom." He finished with a teasing smirk.
That however made Ember frown at Tucker. "Whatever Danny and I do is none of your business. I don't ask you whenever you're out with every new girl you're dating every week."
"Okay, okay." Tucker raised his hand, but still wondered "So, not in a relationship at all?"
At first, Ember didn't want to answer as it was something private between her and Danny, but said with a shrug. "No, I... I don't know."
"But you want to, right?" Tucker asked with a smirk.
Ember glared at him. "Tucker, seriously, if you don't stop, I won't hesitate to break your nose!"
"Okay, sorry I asked." Tucker apologized. So, changing the subject, he asked "So, other than you working as a part time police consultant, how is your music career doing?"
Ember gave a shrug. "It's okay. Though It's not what I was expecting as I didn't get really famous, other than my all-time big song 'Remember', I only do it as a hobby now."
"Well, have you ever considered trying it out here in LA?" Tucker asked. "I'm sure that the music studios here could notice you in no time."
Ember shook her head. "I already tried, Tucker. Unfortunately, those assholes don't see me as a good investment for the long run." Then she frowned. "Sometimes I think it's all just a big fucking excuse to not give me a chance to get famous, because I am a ghost and not a 'living' human." But that made her snap. "But I am alive! WHY THE FUCK CAN'T THEY SEE IT?!"
That outburst shocked Tucker a bit. But ensured her "Well... I don't see you just as a ghost. You're my good friend, as you are to Danny and his family."
That did make Ember feel a bit better and smiled. "Thanks, Tucker."
Then, Tucker chuckled as he mentioned. "If Sam saw how good you've made it for yourself, she would be jealous."
Hearing Sam's name made Ember frown. "I don't like to talk about her, after the way she's been treating me since day 1, I don't think I want to talk or mention anything about that goth-hippy who thinks it's easy to be a cop like me."
Tucker couldn't deny that it didn't take a genius to see that the only reason that Sam wanted to become a cop, was to finally make Danny to notice her as Tucker knew that Sam had secret feelings for Danny since forever but never made her move and felt angry at Ember for thinking she'd stolen her chances with Danny from her.
But, she did wonder what happened to her and asked "Is she still attempting to make Danny notice her?"
Tucker unfortunately shook his head. "No.. surprisingly, no, she hadn't."
That gave some relief to Ember. "Oh, so she found a different boyfriend, or something?"
"No... she..." Tucker almost said, as Sam had actually gone through something traumatic, which forced her to work now at a desk job for the police.
"What?" Ember wondered.
But Tucker shook his head ."I... Sorry, she wouldn't be happy if I talk openly about it."
That made Ember narrow her eyes, wondering what could've caused Sam stop her attempts to try to get Danny's attention, thinking that it must've been something terrible that Sam went through as the way that Tucker seemingly was made by Sam never to talk about it to anyone. But, Ember then said. "Well, at least Danny has a job at Nakatomi Corporation now and works alongside his parents, since it didn't work out for him to become an astronaut for NASA."
Tucker nodded. "Yep. He sure is lucky. Not to mention that Joe Takagi made that awesome deal with Danny's parents to work alongside with his company and make all kinds of new stuff powered with Ecto-energy." Then he smiled as he showed the new TV and CD-player he'd installed in the back of the limo. "See that? All from Fenton-Nakatomi Creations, completely Ecto-powered."
Ember formed a smile when she saw the new stuff invented by Danny's parents. "It's nice that people use the energy from the Ghost-Zone for something good and not for weapons for war, power, greed or just because some people are just batshit insane."
"Sure is." Tucker then showed his new PDA. "And this baby, also Ecto-powered! Never having to charge it with a plug ever again, with batteries that will last for 50 years."
"That's great."
Tucker then asked as he turned on the CD-player on the radio. "You mind if we hear some tunes?"
Ember didn't seem to mind as Tucker put a CD in, hearing it was rap music from 'Run DMC'.
"Yeah, that's a classic."
Ember chuckled as she took a drag from her cigarette and blew out the smoke. "You don't have any Christmas music? It's Christmas Eve tonight after all."
"This is Christmas music."
As they arrived at the entrance of the Nakatomi Tower, Ember stepped out of the limo, with Tucker telling her while she took her guitar. "Want some good advice? Since it's Christmas, wait till you caught Danny under a mistletoe. It's the perfect way to get him all to yourself. Or, as soon as you see him, run into each other's arms, the music comes up, and you live happily ever after."
Ember flicked her cigarette away while giving an annoyed sigh as Tucker clearly won't shut up about her and Danny being really close, like they're already a couple but both just won't admit it. However, Ember did form a small dreamy smile, hoping to spend more time with Danny, and maybe also some... alone time. That last thought made her blush. So, she told Tucker while leaning against the limo "Though you're annoying right now and won't shut up about whatever's going on between me and Danny…" Before she then gave a shrug. "I'll... take your advice to heart."
Tucker chuckled while giving her a thumbs up "That's the Christmas spirit!" Then he wondered and asked her. "So, since Danny invited you to this Nakatomi Christmas party, I assume you're gonna spend the night at his place?" He was clearly teasing her as he thought that she was gonna spend the rest of the week with Danny.
But again, Ember frowned at Tucker. But, she did hope deep down that Danny would ask her to stay with him and his family till after New Year's Eve, as Danny had only invited her over to celebrate Christmas but not New Year. Ember shrugged and stated. "Actually, I don't know yet. I hope that he will invite me to his place," then she formed a bit of a depressing look on her face. "But if not... I'll find a place."
Seeing that Ember could be needing some help to find a hotel or motel to stay, Tucker offered. "I tell you what. I'm gonna pull in the parking garage, and I'll wait. You score, you give me a call on my PDA." As he handed her over his business card with his phone number, which Ember took. "I'll take your bags to the desk. But, in case you won't be spending the rest of the night and/or week with Danny, I'll get you to a hotel."
Ember did appreciate that kind of offer from him. As she put Tucker's business card in her back pocket. "Thanks, Tuck. Don't worry, I'll let you know."
Tucker nodded and told her before Ember closed the limo door. "Go get 'em, rockstar." And then drove to the parking garage.
Ember glanced at the building before going inside, walking over to the receptionist "Hi." She said kindly.
The guy in the gray suit nodded to her. "Good evening, Miss. How can I help you?"
"Yeah, I'm here to see Danny Fenton."
The receptionist pointed to the touch screen in front of her. "Just type it in there."
Ember pressed it, showing a whole list of names of people that work at Nakatomi, making her raise an eyebrow. "Cute toy."
The receptionist nodded. "Standard item of Nakatomi Corporation. Even if you have to take a leak, it'll find your zipper."
Ember pressed the letter 'F', showing all the employees' names starting with that letter. Ember spotted 3 people with the name Fenton, with Danny showing above that of Jack's and Maddie's. She pressed Danny's name, with the screen showing his current location being on the 30th floor. "30th floor?" Ember asked. "Let me guess; it's where the party is, right?"
"Yes. They're the only ones left in the building." The receptionist stated and pointed to her where the elevators were. "Take the express elevator. Get off where you hear the noise."
"Thanks." Ember thanked the guy and walked over to where the elevators were. Along the way, she quietly sang 'Jingle Bells', feeling she was in a happy mood of seeing Danny. "Jingle bells, jingle bells. Jingle all the way. Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh..." Before she saw a guard around the corner, waving hi to him before she pressed the button when reaching the express elevator, with the doors opening as a ding was heard. Ember stepped into the elevator and pressed the button going to the 30th floor.
When making it to the 30th floor, Ember could already hear some classic music being played. As the elevator doors opened, she saw dozens of people at the party, with the whole floor decorated with Christmas stuff and a big Christmas tree placed in the middle of the big room.
A bartender offered her as he held a serving plate with many glasses filled with champagne. "Champagne, Miss?"
Ember nodded and took a glass. "Sure. Thanks." She walked around, trying to catch a glimpse of either Danny or his parents. Ember sighed as this whole 'classic mood' of celebrating Christmas wasn't her thing. "Pff! I'd rather be at a Christmas party with loud music, lots of booze and dancing than this." But then she told herself. "But... I'm here for Danny. So, I can make an exception for once. But where is he?" Ember then spotted an American/Japanese businessman, thinking it might be the owner of the building. She walked over to him and asked. "Hey, excuse me? I'm looking for-"
"Daniel Fenton?" He asked.
Ember nodded. "Yeah, that's right."
The man smiled and shook hands with her. "Then you must be Ember McLain. My name is Joe Takagi."
"Pleasure." Ember said.
"How was your ride in?"
"It was nice. Thanks for letting Danny send his friend to pick me up."
"It seemed the least we could do. The Fentons told me a lot about you, especially Danny, who seemed very fond of you."
That made Ember feel modest. "Oh... He did, huh?" Before she then changed the subject as she looked around. "Some place you have here."
"It will be, if we ever get it finished." Joe Takagi stated. "There are still several floors under construction." He then saw Jack and Maddie joining them.
Maddie was now wearing a nice dark red dress with lots of white glitter, instead of her usual blue jumpsuit. And Jack, though still wearing his signature orange jumpsuit, simply wore a tie along with it. Maddie smiled when she saw Ember. "Ember, you made it! Welcome to LA, dear."
Ember chuckled as she greeted her and Jack. "Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Fenton. It's been a long time."
Jack nodded. "It sure has. Man, you, a New York policewoman. Who would've known?"
Ember gave a shrug. "I'm just doing some good part time community service." Before she then wondered. "Uhm... where's Danny?"
Maddie assured her. "Oh, he went down to the vault room to scan some papers. He'll be joining the party soon." But then she wondered to herself. "Speaking of which, I wonder when Jazz will be here?"
Ember, knowing that Jazz was studying Psychology at the Oxford University in the UK, also hoped she would be at the Christmas party as she hadn't seen her since last year. "Me too, I'd hoped that I'd see her here."
Maddie checked her watch. "Her plane should've landed like an hour ago." Before she excused herself. "You know what? I'm gonna make a call and see where she is."
Jack then asked Ember. "Say, want to see where Danny's working? You could surprise him there, if you want?"
Ember nodded. "Uhm... sure."
Jack then said to Joe Takagi. "You don't mind if-"
"Of course not, Jack. Go ahead and show Miss McLain around. A good friend of the Fentons, is a good friend of mine." Takagi said kindly.
Jack walked Ember to Danny's office as Ember seemed to like him. "Even though Mr. Takagi really isn't my style, I can tell he's a real kind person."
"He really is, Ember. He's got a wife and 5 kids who've been doing excellent in their fields. Some of them have even taken business classes in order to work here 1 day." Jack said with a smile.
"Well, I'll be sure to congratulate him and his kids, as a Christmas gift." Ember said with a smile, thinking that was the least she could do.
"I'm sure he'd really like that, Ember." Jack said as he and Ember entered his office, seeing Harry Ellis in Danny's chair, and from the looks of it, snorting cocaine.
"Ellis, what are you doing in here?" Jack asked with suspicion.
Ellis got out of the chair and obviously lied. "I was just makin' a call and this was the nearest phone."
"Yeah right, you sleazy dirtbag." Ember said under her breath, as she obviously knew what he was doing.
Jack then introduced him to Ember. "This is Ember McLain, Danny's very close friend from New York. Ember, this is Harry Ellis, in charge of international development."
Ellis held out his hand. "Heard a heck of a lot about you."
Ember crossed her arms. "Yeah, I'm sure. You missed some." She said before walking up to Danny's desk. "Quite impressive I'll admit. Danny must be a top employee here, huh, Mr. Fenton?"
"Yeah, he is, Ember. It seemed like he was made for the business. He's tough as nails." Jack said proudly.
"I'd imagine he is." Ember agreed with him. "Mr. Takagi throws quite the party."
"Yeah, he's quite flexible. Pearl Harbor didn't work out, so they got us with tape decks." Jack said as a joke, which made Ellis laugh.
Ellis then stated. "Actually, the party's also a double celebration. Jack and Maddie have invented something that could solve the energy crisis for not just the country, but the whole world, potentially for good."
But that was when a familiar voice that Ember wanted to hear for days now. "Yeah, I'm just gonna see what my dad's doing. Be back in a few minutes." He said as he came into the office and was very surprised to see Ember. "Ember. You actually made it!"
Ember smiled at him and said happily. "Hey, Danny, it's great to see you."
Danny walked up to her and they happily embraced. "I got a bit worried you didn't make your flight."
"Well, when you invited me here, I wanted to be up bright and early for it. So, I got my stuff in order and got on the plane. Though I really wanted to be off it as soon as possible. You guys know I don't like flying in planes." Ember explained. "But, I'm really glad I made it."
That was when Maddie came into the office and informed them. "Guys, I spoke to Jazz and she said her flight's been canceled. She won't be here till tomorrow, so she can't join us tonight."
This saddened the male Fentons, but they were glad that at least Ember made it. "Well, at least Ember was able to make it. And at least Jazz'll be here for Christmas."
"Yeah. And she'll be really glad to see you, Ember." Jack said with an assuring smile. "She's really taken a liking to you."
"Probably as the sister she never had." Maddie added.
Ember smiled at that. "I'll be sure to give her a gift when she gets here." Before she looked at Danny. "Is there a place where I can freshen up?"
Danny smiled. "Sure. Follow me and I'll show you."
Ember took Danny's hand and said. "Oh, I don't doubt that, Danny."
While they were going to the bathroom, Jack and Maddie smiled. "They're so cute together, don't you think?"
"They definitely are. How they haven't gotten together yet is way beyond me." Jack said before taking his wife's hand. "In the meantime, let's go enjoy the party. I'm sure they'll join us after Ember freshens up." Before they went to the hall to enjoy themselves at the party.
When entering the bathroom together, Danny said as he closed the door behind them. "I hope that Ellis didn't bother you or anything? He's always like that at this time of the year, thinking he was God's greatest gift." And those last words came with a bit of anger.
While Ember put her guitar down and walked up to a sink, she asked with a little smile on her face. "By the sounds of it, you don't really like that guy, don't you, Dipstick?"
Danny shook his head, saying that he's never liked Ellis from the start. "Nope. He's been on my nerves ever since I came to work here and help my parents."
Ember nodded as she took off her jacket and opened the tap, letting warm water flow and washed her face. "Yeah, I know the type. Have seen it several times when helping the cops arresting them." Before she chuckled. "I think he has a crush on me already."
That made Danny frown with anger. "Yeah, I can already tell."
When Ember saw it, she chuckled as it was funny to see him reacting a bit jealous that way. "It's okay, Babypop. He's definitely not my type."
Danny formed a little smile of hope. "Well... that's a relief."
"I imagine." Ember formed a smirk at him before continuing washing her face. Then, she then wandered as she took off her combat boots. "You don't mind, do you?"
Danny shook his head. "No, not at... all..." But then realized she unhooked the braces attached to her fishnet stockings and took them off, even her black jeans shorts, showing underneath a sexy suspender belt and a black transparent panties which only covered her pussy. Danny's mind went crazy to see Ember so... revealing and... sexy... even the tribal tattoo on her lower back made him feel hot under the collar. Danny was at a loss for words.
Ember, with her back at Danny, had noticed Danny watching her the whole time. She placed her hands on her hips and swung her butt a bit while biting her lip. "Liking the view, Danny...?"
Danny blushed deep red and looked away. "Uuhhh...! Sorry, I... didn't mean to-!" Before he cleared his throat and said. "Uhm... Nice tattoo you got." But saying that comment made him blush again.
Ember chuckled and took off her suspender belt before putting her jeans shorts back on. "Thanks. I just got it last month."
Danny looked back at her. Though he was still blushing as the picture of Ember wearing sexy lingerie kept stuck in his brain. "Really? Uhh... I... didn't know that you were allowed to have a tattoo in the NYPD."
Ember gave a shrug and sat on a chair. "Well, as long as your tattoo isn't shown while being on duty, as the station wants to show professionalism at all times, they don't mind." Before she then began walking around barefoot.
Danny then asked her. "So... where are you staying for the rest of the week? Things happened so fast, I didn't get a chance to ask you on the phone." He stated, feeling a bit embarrassed that he didn't offer her a place to stay when inviting her over to LA.
Ember shrugged while she kept walking around barefoot. "I don't know yet. Tucker offered me a ride to a hotel nearby."
Danny gave a small chuckle. "Yeah, I imagine he did." But then asked. "I... actually was thinking... I'd hoped that...?"
Ember stopped and stood close before him with a sweet and hopeful smile. "Yes?"
"I was hoping that you would like to... stay with me and my family for the rest of the week. We... have a spare bedroom you could use. It's... not huge or anything, but... my family would love to have you around for the holidays."
Ember felt like her heart was blossoming, that he offered what she dearly hoped when stepping on the plane to LA. "They would, huh?" She softly asked.
Danny nodded. "Yeah..."
Ember slowly leaned in, closing her eyes... and pressed her lips softly on his, sharing a sweet kiss. "I would love that... Danny..." And seeing Danny's very red face after she kissed him, Ember chuckled out of amusement and walked back and sat on a chair.
"What?" Danny asked.
"Hihihihi. Nothing." Ember said while making fists with her toes. "It's just funny to see you shy that way." then she smirked at him. "You weren't anywhere near being shy like that when we were having a... bit of fun during prom."
Danny remembered that night, 2 years ago, when he was attending prom at his new high school after moving to Los Angeles.
Flashback, 2 years ago - Jordan High School
In the big gym, many of the students, wearing nice suits and beautiful dresses, having lots of fun by either talking, laughing, dancing or drinking, Danny arrived with Ember outside in a white limo.
Danny, wearing a white suit and black bow tie, was the first to step out before offering his hand to help Ember out. She was wearing a long blue/black dress, showing some cleavage. She smiled with curiosity as she glanced around the school grounds. "So this is where you attend school, Dipstick?"
Danny shrugged. "Yep. Although, it won't be for long as in a few weeks, I have my graduation ceremony."
"Touché." Ember said with a grin on her face. "Shall we?"
Danny nodded and took her hand, walking together with her to join the prom with the many other students. "We shall."
When walking inside, Ember was amazed by the whole thing. "Wow! My first prom. I never thought I'd ever attend one." Then she smiled at Danny. "But sitting in a plane for 4 torturing hours to join you after you asked me, it was all worth it."
"And I sure hope you'll have an amazing time too, Em." Danny said.
The both of them then walked over to a few of Danny's friends he'd made at his new school, with Ember getting to know them better. Ember was glad to see that Danny had made new friends over the years when moving to LA. She knew it was hard for him to leave Sam and Tucker behind as they were his best and only friends at Casper High.
After taking a few prom pictures with Danny, together with his friends and their dates, Ember then noticed a few jonks that were picking on a few nerds, which made her glare at them. But seeing that the teachers, who were chaperoning the whole prom, were dealing with the bullies for their misbehavior and threw them out of prom, Ember formed a smile of relief.
Danny saw them too and said while narrowing his eyes. "Yeah. Though things are better here at Jordan High than back at Casper High, there's always, unfortunately, a group of bullies in every school." But then smiled as he shrugged. "But at least here the teachers aren't favoring the Football team over anyone and treat every student as equal."
Ember nodded. "Yeah. Indeed." Before she took a glass of punch and took a sip. Oddly, she found the taste a bit bitter than the last punch drink she took. "Is it just me, or does this punch taste a bit more... bitter?" She asked herself. Thinking that somebody spiked the punch bowl, Ember shrugged while telling herself mentally. 'Guess there's always a prankster to add some alcohol to the punch at every school dance.' Before she then formed a mischievous smirk and took a few more sips, feeling a bit of the alcohol's effect. 'Although... perhaps I could have a bit of 'fun' with Danny.' Then she filled a new glass with spiked punch and walked back to Danny, offering him one, which he did and drank it, finding it tasting a bit different, but smiled and both him and Ember decided to dance together.
Later
As the night proceeded, Danny felt a bit more drowsy as he'd taken a few more spiked punch drinks. Ember too felt a bit more drunk, which she liked. Both stood in a corner, in a hallway just out of the gym, standing close to her while he snickered. "You know... everything was so... boring with you not around."
Ember chuckled. "Yeah... I can imagine, Dipstick." Before Danny sighed as he moved closer to her, with Ember having her back to the wall, which she didn't mind and forming a lustful grin on her face. "You seem to have different things in mind... don't you?"
"You have... no fucking idea...!" Danny then kissed Ember passionately, which surprised her, but slowly returned the kiss, with their tongues making contact, dancing like a tango in their mouths.
Ember moaned while placing her arms over Danny's neck, pulling her to her while their kiss deepened. "Mmmm... Mmmmm... Mmmaaaah...!"
Danny slowly broke the kiss, leaving a trail of saliva and looked into her eyes, which showed nothing but lust and desire. Not able to hold himself, Danny resumes the kiss, which Ember gladly receives and returns with passion. Both kissed and moaned nonstop for some minutes. Out of his own movement, Danny moved his hand down between Ember's legs, rubbing her pussy.
"Aaahhh...!" Ember moaned while keeping French kissing him and their tongues touched each other "Hmmmaaahh... fuuuuck, yeah...!"
Danny, with his other hand, lowered her dress a bit down, making her show him one of her breasts and he softly rubbed it.
"Just like that..." Ember moaned, liking him touching her like this while he kissed her down to her neck. "Hmmm... yeah... just like that, Danny...! Ooooh ... fuuuuuck... aaaaaah!" As she felt his finger going inside her wet pussy.
"What's going on here?!" A teacher called, having caught the two teenagers making out in the hallway.
Danny and Ember both immediately broke the kiss out of shock, with Ember quickly readjusting her dress while Danny told the teacher out of embarrassment. "Oh! Mr Falcon...! We-we were just-"
Mr. Falcon, who was Danny's science teacher, and also his favorite, said with some disappointment at him. "Though I don't mind you having some 'fun' with your girlfriend, Mr. Fenton, we have rules here at prom that I expect you and the other senior students to hold on to." Before he then advised them, sounding a bit less strict and going straight for punishing them. "Now, if you want to go through with this, the both of you will have to be patient and wait till after the prom is over, understand?"
Though Ember annoyingly rolled her eyes, Danny nodded while chuckling a bit. "Uhm... yeah. Sure, Mr. Falcon."
"Good." The science teacher said and escorted the two teenagers back inside. Along the way, Mr. Falcon asked Danny while whispering. "Take my advice on this, Mr. Fenton. If you do go do what you want to do with your date, please, use protection."
Danny chuckled and nodded. "Sure, Mr. Falcon." Before he then looked at Ember and whispered to her. "Sorry..."
Ember however wasn't mad and formed a sweet smile, holding his hand. "Don't worry, that was probably gonna happen anyway."
The rest of the prom went as usual, with finally the king and queen of prom having chosen, which were surprisingly Danny's friend and his date. During the final dance, which was a slow and romantic one, Danny and Ember danced in each other's arms romantically. Ember deep down hoped that this feeling would never end.
End of flashback
Danny chuckled. "Yeah... but you know... we both know that it was actually the alcohol that made us... doing that."
Ember shrugged, hiding her bit of sad face. "Yeah... I guess so..." But feeling better after making fists with her toes, Ember chuckled. "Son of a bitch."
"What?" Danny wandered.
Ember gave a small chuckle and stated. "Making fists with the toes." That made Danny raise an eyebrow, with Ember stating. "It's a trick that I heard from someone when arriving here. Said that it helps people who're afraid of flights."
"Really?" Danny asked. Feeling a bit stressed after doing a lot of work before the party, he wondered "How does it work?"
Ember told him. "You walk barefooted for some time and then sit and make fists with your toes."
Danny first took off his jacket before taking off his shoes and socks, doing what Ember did before; walking around barefooted before sitting at another chair in front of her.
"So?" Ember asked.
Danny made fists with his toes a few times, saying with a smile. "Yeah. I feel it's working." Before he then glanced at her, staring at her for some time.
"What?" Ember asked with a small smile.
Danny, feeling he might owe her an explanation, began saying while feeling a bit ashamed. "Listen, Em... Lately... I was thinking..." As he held her hand. "...about us."
Ember began to blush as soon as Danny held her hand.
"I should've... been more honest with you when I came over to see you last year when you... were feeling so down and..."
Ember sighs before she nodded, but wondered. "Been honest about what?"
Danny shrugged. "I began to realize that..."
"What?"
"That I've been a jerk to you."
Ember raised an eyebrow at him. "What do you mean?"
Danny shook his head. "For not telling you sooner what I feel for you." Causing Ember to give a small gasp in surprise. "Ever since I... helped you to settle down here in the human world after my Dad used the Fenton Ghost-Eraser to erase my powers, though it had only severed them in the end, and had greatly affected you... and the awesome time we spend at prom... me going to New York to help you through your depression..." But then he cursed himself. "I've made these last few years... too many excuses of not telling, making excuses that you needed to focus on your music career or your job at the NYPD, me being rejected by NASA after screwing up the tryouts and working like hell here in this company to help my parents while I don't even know what I really want with my life, I...! I...!"
Ember held his arms. "Just tell me..."
Danny glanced back at her, looking into her eyes. "I... I love you, Ember McLain...!"
Ember felt her heart had skipped a beat after he said those 3 words to her, like her soul was coming back to life. Slowly, she formed a smile and almost jumped on Danny, kissing him deeply.
Danny's eyes went wide but then he returned the kiss.
Ember then slowly broke the kiss, looking at him with a lovely smile. "I love you too, Babypop... I love you so much...!" And resumed the kiss.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and someone came in. "Mr. Fenton, I-" It was Takagi's female secretary, who saw Danny and Ember kissing, but stopped when she entered. She gave a small gasp and apologized. "Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Fenton, but uhm... Mr. Takagi was looking for you. He- He was hoping that you would say something to the troops." But seeing that she clearly was interrupting Danny and Ember their moment, she cleared her throat. "But, uhm... I suppose your father or mother could do that, so... I'll leave you be."
Danny nodded and she left before he glanced back at Ember, sighing as he stated. "Sorry. I'm kinda liked around here since I do a great job, so..." Before he then held her up by her butt cheeks, putting her on his laps, forming a grin on his face. "But I think... I have something way more important to make up for."
Ember, biting her lip, asked while putting her arms around his neck. "And what would that be, handsome...?"
He teased her a bit. "I think you already know, right...?"
Biting her lip, she moved her face closer to him, whispering in a seducing voice "Show me..."
Danny pressed his lips against her, kissing her passionately, which Ember gladly received and returned. The both of them touched each other almost everywhere while standing up, before Danny pinned her to the wall and continued their hot make out session.
But when Ember heard someone else coming, they quickly separated and said. "Someone else is coming, Danny. But don't worry, we'll continue this when we're really alone." Before going to the next room to check on her stuff.
Danny gave her a shrug. "Sure." Before Maddie came in. "Hi, Mom."
"Is Ember still freshening up?" Maddie asked.
"Actually she's checking her stuff. Do you and dad need me for a speech?" Danny asked with a small smile.
"Well, if you'd like to. It'll only take a few minutes." Maddie answered.
Danny wanted to spend more time with Ember but he thought that it wouldn't be a long speech and because sure Ember could be alone for just a few minutes. "Sure, Mom, why not?" He answered before leaning in so he was looking at Ember in the room. "Hey, Ember, I'm gonna help my parents with their speech, okay? I'll be back in a few minutes. Think you can manage that long?"
Ember didn't seem to mind. "Sure. I've been on a plane for nearly 7 hours, so I think I can manage a few more minutes. I gotta call Tucker anyway to inform him that I'll be staying with you guys. I'll join you as soon as I'm done."
"Gotcha. I'll be waiting for you." Danny said before leaving the room and closing the door to joining his mother, leaving Ember alone for now.
But, unknown to them or anyone else at the party, danger was coming. A danger that would change the lives of both Danny and Ember, as well as their friends and Danny's family for many years to come, a danger that only a Christmas miracle in the form of a certain rock star ghost could hope to stop.
There you go, my dear friends, the 1st chapter of my new story, The Die Hard Ghost Couple, is complete. And as you already can tell, it's similar to my Korra/Die Hard story, but different. I hope you enjoyed the 1st chapter. And don't worry, the ghosts still have some of their powers despite them being severed so they're not completely powerless. Anyway, rate and review and I'll see you all next time, my dear friends.
