Chapter 4-Nick's Response
Author's Note: This is actually draft 2 of this chapter. I deleted the chapter that was finished and when I realized it, it was too late. So, I had to write it all over again with nothing but my memory to go on.
Dear Jeff,
We have been best friends since Kindergarten. We were inseparable; like 2 halves of a whole. You were the brother I didn't have but longed for. You are the person I tell everything to but I've been keeping something from you for quite a while now. When we were in the 7th grade, you announced you were gay which didn't go over to well at school. For two years, I had to watch you be bullied just because of your gender preference. I hated that time knowing that you were in pain and I couldn't do anything to help. You switched to Dalton Academy in our freshman year and I followed you there. So again, we were inseparable. That is until Matt came along. I hated Matt from the first moment I met mostly because it seemed he was taking you away from me. I didn't want to lose you; you were my best friend. Later, it dawned on me that I hated him because you were his. I realized then that I felt more than friendship for you. That scared me so much so I never did anything.
But, I want to prepare you for what you're about to get into. I want to make you know me. My full name is Nickolas David Duvall. I am 18 years old and my birthday is June 24th, 1995. I am 5'10 and I am a native Texan. I am an only child but I do consider Blaine my brother. My hobbies mostly are acting, singing, and lacrosse. I can't cook although I am fairly good at baking. My specialty would have to be peanut, chocolate chip cookies which are also your favorite. I work at a record store downtown which is how I am able to pay for my most prized possession; a 2010 blue Chevy Impala. I have never done drugs but I have been drunk once in my life. I don't wish to repeat that experience seeing that's actually how I lost my virginity. Jeff, I promise to offer you my love, my friendship, and hours of entertainment. My parents and my best friends are everything to me; I value their opinion more than my own most of the time. But, Jeff; my parents love you so you'll never have to worry over that.
So, this is my letter to you accepting your application and saying that there's no one else for me except you. Jeffery Sterling.
