He looked down at her, the beautiful girl lying there. She was the most important thing in his life. The one thing that made sense. Perfect sense.
As she began to stir he smiled at her taking in the radiance shining off her, even at this early time.
"If you want a picture, you can take one!" She said, sarcasm present in her voice. She had sensed his eyes on her for the past twenty minutes, loving the silence they lay in too much to disturb it. As she opened her eyes, a small peck landed on her head. The corners of her mouth began to curl up with happiness. Each day with him was a new adventure. And with each day brought a new memory to keep with her forever.
Underneath that happiness though, is pain and anger. Often he could just look at her and tell that she was sad. Often he would look at her and say "We try to hide our feelings, forgetting our eyes could speak." And she would know. Know that he has read her again, as easily as he would read a book. This was only one of the 'inspirational' comments he would tell her. Her day was filled with them, always reminding her of the love that was felt from so many people in her life. Without these comments, she wouldn't have got this far. He was the light that brought her through each day.
"Breakfast?" He asks her, talking into her hair.
"As long as you come back to bed." She replied, a smile creeping onto her face.
"Of course I will."
Nick stood in the kitchen, preparing her breakfast just as she liked it: poached eggs, bacon and toast. This was the meal he'd prepared every Saturday for eight weeks now. He made some hot drinks then returned to their bedroom.
As he walked in he stood by the door for a few seconds, admiring his girl, the smile that had only recently come out after her name was cleared. Her face was naked, pure. He knew then. He was in love.
