Solatiri sighed as she stepped outside. All the men were inside the hall sleeping the night away. She needed to step out for some air and some time to herself. Solatiri shivered as she wrapped a shawl around her shoulders and her eyes looked toward the east to Gondor.
"Good evening."
She turned to see Legolas wrapped in his cloak wearing his hood.
"Good evening, Legolas", she said.
He stood next to her as he looked to the east as well. They watched as dark clouds began forming in the east. Solatiri frowned worried.
"What do you think is happening?" she asked.
Both of them were silent as they heard footsteps behind them. The looked to see Aragorn standing with them.
"The stars are veiled", Legolas said. "Something stirs in the east…a sleepless malice. The Eye of the enemy is moving."
"Rohan is safe for now", Solatiri said. "What other land is there left to conquer?"
"Gondor is close", Aragorn said.
"Gondor cannot fall", she said. "Boromir's brother is protecting it. I know it."
"His brother?" Aragorn asked.
"I know Faramir will do all he can to protect our home. He is strong like his brother."
Solatiri shivered as a breeze of wind blew through the air. They heard a loud sound that resembled a deep breath upon the air.
"What was that?" she asked.
"He is here", Legolas said looking worried.
"He?" Solatiri asked. "Who?"
"Sauron", Aragorn said turning and running inside the hall.
Solatiri followed with Legolas as they rushed inside. Aragorn slammed open the door to see Pippin on the stone floor holding the stone Gandalf hid away. The stone was flaming and Pippin was thrashing in pain.
"Someone help him!" Merry cried out.
Aragorn took the stone into his hands and grew weak as he fell to the floor.
"Pippin!" Solatiri yelled seeing him stop thrashing and laying still.
The stone rolled out of Aragorn's hands and rolled across the floor until Gandalf covered it back up.
"Fool of a Took!"
He turned to see Pippin laying unmoving with his eyes staring into empty space. Everyone watched in fear as Gandalf knelt beside him and took his hand hoping there was still life in him. They watched as Pippin gasped as he came back to his senses.
"Look at me", Gandalf said.
"Gandalf…forgive me", Pippin whimpered.
"Look at me", Gandalf ordered. "What did you see?"
"A tree", he answered. "There was a white tree…in a courtyard of stone. It was dead. The city was burning."
"Minas Tirith", Solatiri said in realization.
"Is that what you saw?" Gandalf asked.
"I saw…" Pippin hesitated looking frightened. "I saw him. I could hear his voice inside my head."
"What did you tell him? Speak!"
"He asked me my name. I didn't answer. He hurt me."
"What did you tell him about Frodo and the Ring?" Gandalf asked.
Pippin closed his eyes and shook his head. Gandalf said nothing as he stood. Solatiri knelt beside him and took his hands.
"Pippin, your hands!" she said. "They're burned!"
She helped him sit up as she looked at his hands. Pippin shook as all the things he saw remained in his mind.
