Track One: Lucky By Colby Calliat and Jason Mraz

Derek loved Penelope Garcia with his entire soul. She was his solace, and there was nobody in the world who compared to her. He'd tried to tell her, many times in fact. But it felt like she never heard him. So he needed to make her. Now that her fling with Lynch was over, and she'd had enough time to get over it, he was ready to take another shot.

The case had wrapped up, and the team was going out to celebrate their success. Derek just needed one chance to prove to Penelope that she belonged with him. And he knew exactly how he was going to do it.

"One bahama mama for my sexy mama." Derek handed Penelope her drink and kissed her cheek. He had suggested a new bar for the team to go to, and it was much different than their usual hangout. It was just what he needed.

"My hero." She smiled up at him. The team gathered around the tables with their drinks just as the owner stood at the bar with a mic.

"Open floor for karaoke has started. Add your name to the list and we'll call you up!"

Everyone looked surprised by this. Derek hadn't told the team this part of the new club. The thing was, Penelope was an amazing singer. She had done theater as a teenager, and Derek loved to hear her sing. He knew she wouldn't turn down karaoke, and he already had the perfect duet selected.

"What do you say, baby? Be my partner?"

"You bet, hot stuff!"

Derek went up and added their name to the list. He returned to the table, taking his place once again next to Penelope. They had a few people on the list ahead of them so they enjoyed the other singers while waiting. Someone did a very bad rendition of Tainted Love. A duo drunkenly sang You're the One That I Want. And another person sang I Will Always Love You perfectly. Finally, they called up Penelope and Derek.

"OH! We should do Don't Go Breaking My Heart!" Penelope exclaimed. Derek handed her a mic.

"Next time, babe. I've got the first one picked out." He winked as he began to sing

LUCKY By Jason Mraz and Colby Calliat

Do you hear me, I'm talking to you

Across the water across the deep blue ocean

Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying

He desperately wanted her to hear what these words meant. She smiled at him before she sang the next verse.

Boy, I hear you in my dreams

I feel your whisper across the sea

I keep you with me in my heart

You make it easier when life gets hard

Derek stepped closer to her as they sang the chorus together. He pulled her close to him.

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend

Lucky to have been where I have been

Lucky to be coming home again

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

They don't know how long it takes

Waiting for a love like this

Every time we say goodbye

I wish we had one more kiss

I'll wait for you, I promise you, I will

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend

Lucky to have been where I have been

Lucky to be coming home again

Lucky we're in love in every way

Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed

Lucky to be coming home someday

Penelope was looking at him curiously now. He wondered if she had started to pick up on what he was saying. The lyrics couldn't have explained his feelings for her more perfectly. He gently moved her hair behind her ear as he sang the next verse.

And so I'm sailing through the sea

To an island where we'll meet

You'll hear the music fill the air

I'll put a flower in your hair

Before Penelope sang the next verse she gave Derek a questioning look. Was he trying to tell her something? He nodded at her. She felt her eyes start to water as she sang him the next part of the song.

Though the breezes through the trees

Move so pretty you're all I see

As the world keeps spinning round

You hold me right here right now

There was no doubt now that they were singing to each other. They both meant every word of the song. Derek knew she finally was listening to his words. Penelope couldn't believe this was finally happening. They heard their team cheer as they finished off the song.

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend

Lucky to have been where I have been

Lucky to be coming home again

I'm lucky we're in love in every way

Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed

Lucky to be coming home someday

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooooh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

They finished the song and stared at each other. Derek gently took her face and kissed her. If she was surprised by it, she didn't show it. Some people in the bar started whistling, and Derek suddenly remembered they had an audience.

"Let's get out of here." He suggested. She nodded with a grin.

They walked back to the team. None of them seemed too shocked. Derek knew, like himself, they'd really just been waiting for this to happen. When Derek had almost died in the ambulance bombing, and called Penelope his solace, it was eye opening. A week later she broke up with Kevin. And since then, everything had been building up to this moment.

After saying goodbye, Derek pulled Penelope out the door and to his truck. He didn't have to ask. He just drove them right to his house. When they pulled in, he helped her out of the truck and led her inside. As soon as they were in the doorway, she was kissing him. No matter how badly he wanted to continue, he knew they needed to talk first.

"Let's sit." He suggested, desperately trying to keep himself from devouring her right there. She pouted at him. "Baby, there's nothing I want more than to finish what we started at the bar, but we have to have a conversation first."

She sighed, but he knew she knew he was right. He took her hand and led her to the couch. He kept a safe distance between them, knowing if she kept kissing him the way she had been, he'd lose all self discipline. He could tell she didn't like this.

"I won't bite," She teased. "Hard."

"Penelope," He warned. "Behave."

"Fine." She huffed.

"I don't know if you could tell, but I love you, very much." He told her.

"Honey, I know you love me," She replied. "Now, can we go back to the kissing?"

"No, baby girl. I don't love you like my best friend. At least not only like my best friend. I am in love with you. I love you so much that I can barely breathe when you're not near me. I want to do this right. I want to date you, I want to win your heart, and then one day drop to one knee and beg you to marry me." He told her. She had tears welling up in her eyes. "I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Not just tonight."

"Took you long enough." She managed to get out. He couldn't take it anymore. He pulled her to him and held her. He couldn't get enough of her. "I love you."

"Really?" He asked. He couldn't count the amount of times he'd waited to hear those words.

"Of course, hot stuff. You didn't know?"

"I could only dream that you'd feel the same way." He replied. She cupped his face in her hands. "There's been so many times that I tried to tell you, but it never came out right. I was never able to say it right so you'd know how much I meant it."

"Oh, Derek," She breathed. "I'm sorry it took so long. I don't want to waste anymore time, honey."

She kissed him again, pouring all her love into it. He gripped her, pulling her body as close as possible to him until she was laying on top of him on the sofa. He was losing his conscious mind as she grinded her body against his.

"Sweetness, this is not doing things the right way," He said. "We-we should s-stop."

"But, baby, we're just getting started," She said, kissing up his jaw.

Derek wasn't the type to pass up on sex. And, he'd wanted Penelope for years. She was his #1 fantasy comes to life. Yet, he didn't want their relationship to be all about sex. He had to force his body to relax. Gently, he stopped her again.

"Penelope, I want a relationship." He told her.

"Me too, baby." She replied.

"I don't want to start with sex, I want you to know I'm serious, baby."

"Derek Morgan, you made it clear with that song. We've gone about this all wrong from the start. I'm begging you to please not start doing this right now. I am sitting here in your lap, are you going to turn me down?" She pouted her lips, and Derek knew it was over. He had tried, but she was too irresistible. They could do things right later, now he had to have her.

Monday came far too quickly for the pair. Derek couldn't keep his hands off Penelope after his first touch. He was addicted now. She wasn't any better. She had insisted that she was going to go home Sunday night. She didn't want to make things obvious if they arrived to work together Monday, especially because she didn't have any work appropriate clothes at his place. But she was only home for ten minutes when she turned around, work clothes in hand, and headed back. They spent the rest of the night in bed, wrapped in each other's arms.

"Are you sure you're okay riding together?" Derek asked her as they got ready for work. She was pinning her hair back while he shaved his stubble. "I don't want you to be uncomfortable."

"You bring up good points, though," Penelope replied. "The team pretty much knows we're together after Friday night. And, if we don't get a case it would be nice to just come home together."

Derek felt a warmth spread through his belly. He sat his razor down on the counter and came up behind her. He was careful not to mess up her hair when he wrapped his arms around her middle and kissed her cheek.

"Say that again." He purred into her ear.

"The team pretty much knows we're together?"

"No, not that silly girl."

"Oh, it'd be nice to come home together?" She replied. He spun her around and kissed her mouth. "Hmmm, what is that for?"

"You called my house home." He smiled.

"Oh, well I mean, you're my home, honey. You have been for a long time now." She said honestly. It made him even giddier.

"I love you, woman," He said. He kissed her again. "Move in with me."

"Okay." She grinned.

The pair drove into work together, unable to even pretend they weren't totally in love. Derek held her hand as they walked in, and if the team was surprised, they didn't show. They congratulated the pair when Penelope and Derek confirmed the status of their relationship. For the team, it had been a long time coming, and they were happy for their friends.

As Penelope and Derek's luck would have it, though, they ended up with a case. It was sending the team to Detroit. Penelope bid her team of heroes farewell, giving Derek a long kiss goodbye. She was sad that he'd be gone for a few days, but she decided she'd use the time to her advantage. She wanted to give Derek a surprise to come home to.

Nine days. The team had to spend nine days chasing down the serial killer in Detroit. He'd killed eleven high school students, and had three more captive when they finally arrested him. Derek had been the one to cuff him, and it was one of the most satisfying unsub take downs he'd ever had. He was ready to home and get the last week out of his. All he wanted was to hold his baby girl in his arms.

"You've never been in more of a hurry to get home, have you?" JJ teased as Derek looked out the window of the jet. "A certain blonde tech must be equally anxious for us to land."

"Probably, I wouldn't know for sure. She didn't answer when I called to tell her we were taking off," Derek replied. "She's been working for the B team all week when she wasn't helping us."

"Sounds like PG needs a vacation." JJ smiled.

"That'd be nice." Derek grinned thinking about a beach vacation with Penelope. Remembering the team was with him, he reeled in the thoughts of her in a bikini.

The rest of the plane ride, Derek napped. He wanted to have his full energy when he got home to his girl. They had nine whole days to make up for, and he was going to make sure she knew how much he'd missed her.

When they arrived at the BAU, Derek was surprised to find Penelope waiting at his desk. He had planned to meet her in her office, but she was sitting in his chair with a smile on her face. He had never been so happy to see her. As soon as she stood up, he engulfed her in his arms, kissing her hair. He didn't dare kiss her for real, because he knew he wouldn't be able to stop.

"Anyone down for a drink?" Emily asked. After cases like the one they just had, they always went for a drink.

"Nah, we'll pass." Penelope said.

Derek was shocked. Penelope never passed up a night out with the team. She loved hanging out with Emily and JJ and the others. But, she didn't seem interested at all with Emily's invitation. Emily gave her a knowing smile and Derek tried to hold back his excitement. He was secretly glad she wanted Derek all to herself. He felt the same way.

After they said goodbye to the team, Derek and Penelope headed out. She told him that Clooney had been a good boy while he was away. She even admitted to letting the dog sleep in the bed. Derek pretends to scold her but really, he was glad Clooney knew to look out for Penelope when he was out of town.

They pulled up to the house and Derek noticed Penelope seemed nervous. When he asked her about it, she brushed him off. Derek unlocked the front door, and after they were in the living room, her nerves made sense. All of her stuff was here. At least, from what Derek could tell from the first room. He turned to her.

"Surprise?" She said unsurely. "Please say you didn't change your mind."

"Baby, you're all moved in?" He asked. She nodded. Before she could question it any further, Derek pulled her in for a kiss. They took a long time before coming up for air. "I love you, welcome home."

"This is okay?"

"More than okay. I never have to come home to an empty house again, and knowing I'm coming home to you makes my heart happy." He replied, holding her in his arms.

"So, what do you say we christian every room in this house?" She asked, looping her arms around his neck.

"Read my mind, sweetness."

"Honey I'm home." Derek announced. He had been gone for six days on a case, and had missed his wife. They had only been married for six months, and leaving her was hard. But, the welcome home made it worth it.

"Kitchen, hot stuff!" She called.

Derek made his way to the kitchen where Penelope was cooking dinner. He gave her a hello kiss and sat down to watch her. She was making them enchiladas, which she knew were Derek's favorite.

"There's a little something on the counter for." Penelope smiled, gesturing to the gift bag across from him. He grabbed it and began to open it.

Penelope watched as Derek pulled out the tissue paper. Eventually he got to the gift part and pulled it from the bag. It was a small white onesie that read Mommy and Daddy sure are lucky! and a positive pregnancy test. Derek's eyes began to water.

"Really?" He asked. She nodded, and he stood back up. She met him halfway and they embraced. They had started trying for a baby as soon as they got married, but they hadn't expected it to happen already.

"Are you happy, honey?" She asked him.

"Of course, I am baby girl. I can't believe we're having a baby." He placed his hand over her belly, unbelievably happy to know their child was in there. "I love you so much, Penelope."

"I love you, Derek Morgan." She said, kissing him with all the love she had for him.

The pair felt like they were walking on cloud nine. They had spent a long time ignoring the feelings between them, but since they'd finally admitted them, they were so happy. They were living the life they'd always dreamt of. All the promises Derek had made to her that very first night were coming true. And 33 weeks later, when Arthur Hank Morgan was born, they knew they couldn't have been luckier.
