Faramir and Eowyn helped Solatiri to her feet. Solatiri breathed heavily trying to catch her breath.
"What happened?" Faramir asked.
"The baby…" Solatiri breathed. "It's the baby…"
"We should get you to a healer", Eowyn said.
"Please."
Eowyn and Faramir helped her walk to the Houses of Healing. Solatiri moaned in pain as she struggled to walk. It hurt her so much.
"Oh my", one of the healers gasped. "What's wrong?"
"My baby", Solatiri cried in pain. "I think it's time."
"Alright", the healer said. "Get her onto the bed, and then I'll need you two to leave."
"No, wait! I want Faramir with me. Please."
"Solatiri, I don't think I should", he said as he helped her onto the bed.
"Please…I do not have Boromir here with me. Can I have you here with me?"
Faramir looked at her feeling helpless. What could he do for her? Eowyn put her hand on his shoulder.
"Stay with her", she said. "It is your niece or nephew. I am sure your bother would want you to help her through this."
He nodded as he kissed her hand. Eowyn smiled and turned to leave. Faramir turned back to Solatiri, taking her hand in his.
"I wish Boromir was here", she cried.
"I know", Faramir said gently brushing the hair from her forehead. "Everything will be alright."
Solatiri cried in pain as she felt a contraction. She gripped Faramir's hand tight as she bit her lip, drawing blood.
"It'll be alright, Solatiri", Faramir said trying her help her cope with the pain.
"Breathe, Solatiri", the healer said. "The baby needs air."
The healer placed a damp rag on her forehead as she began gasping for air. The healer got the tools needed for when the baby came.
"I need to push!" Solatiri said.
She screamed as loud as she could and kept Faramir locked in a death grip as she began pushing. It felt like she was being torn in half. Faramir cringed as Solatiri crushed his hand.
"You are doing very well", the healer said. "I can see the head crowning. Almost there."
Solatiri whimpered as she stopped trying to catch her breath. She looked at Faramir who was looking at his hand."
"I am so sorry", she breathed. "Am I hurting you?"
"I'll be alright", Faramir said. "It will all be over soon enough."
Solatiri nodded and smiled as Faramir dabbed her face with the damp rag.
"Ready?" the healer asked. "Push again."
She nodded and took a deep breath before pushing with all her might. Everyone looked up when they heard the scream of the newborn baby.
"It's a boy", the healer said holding up the baby.
Solatiri cried tears of joy as she laid eyes on her newborn son. Fuzzy copper colored hair and blue eyes.
"Boromir", she said. "He looks just like Boromir."
"Is that what you want to call him?" Faramir asked.
"Yes. My little Boromir."
Solatiri squeezed Faramir's hand tight as she began feeling sharp pains from her belly again.
"What's happening?" she asked.
The healer put little Boromir in a basket next to Solatiri's bed and examined her also worried about what was happening. She gasped and looked at Solatiri.
"I hope you are prepared. Here comes another baby."
"Twins?" Solatiri said shocked. "Boromir gave me twins?"
She screamed as she pushed again.
"Curse you, Boromir!"
As Solatiri pushed, she could feel the life being drained from her. She didn't have the energy to move or even breathe. Her eyes closed to a shut as her grip loosened on Faramir's hand. The healer held the newborn as it screamed with its first breath.
"A girl."
"Did you hear that?" Faramir asked. "You have a daughter too. Solatiri?"
Solatiri laid unmoving. Her eyes were closed and her chest was not rising with any breaths. Faramir's eyes widened as he began shaking her.
"Solatiri!"
He shook her body trying to get her to wake up. All his efforts proved fruitless as Solatiri remained motionless.
"She's dead", Faramir frowned tears coming to his eyes.
"I am very sorry", the healer said. "Shall I send the children to an orphanage?"
Faramir looked at the two babies laying in the basket side by side sleeping soundly. The little Boromir looked almost identical to his father while the baby girl looked like her mother.
"No", Faramir said. "I will take care of Boromir and Solatiri."
"You're naming the girl Solatiri?" the healer asked.
"Yes", he answered looking at the twins. "They're just like their parents. Always staying together."
