RAE'S P.O.V.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I awoke in my room. Not in my actual room, but the room I was given when I started living with the Winchesters. I blinked a couple of times and sat up. I don't remember coming back here...

But I do remember everything else. Dean, and how he lost it. They, the boys, were supposed to explain that to me. I swung my legs over the bed and was about to walk out, until I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My shirt was torn and bloody, my hair was greasy and ratty, and I probably stink.

"Shower first, questions later." I muttered. A long shower, fixing hair secession and a complete run through of my wardrobe later, I emerged out of my room as a clean, well dressed person. I had on a plaid shirt and some skinny jeans, and some combat boots to top it all off. I walked downstairs to find Cas and Sam talking at one of the tables. Sam noticed me coming downstairs first.

"Rae? Hey, how ya doing? Feeling alright?" He asked.

"I bought doughnuts." Cas said, holding up a box. I smiled.

"Well, thank you, Cas. And I'm okay. Where's Dean?" I asked.

"Right here. Do you drink coffee?" Dean said, appearing out from the kitchen with two cups of coffee.

"I can." I said, taking a cup and sitting down. "So, here I am. Explain please." I took a bite out of my doughnut. Dean raised an eyebrow at Sam.

"How much do you remember?" Sam asked me.

"I remember you getting all stab happy with Boss Man and his goons." I said.

"Boss Man?" Dean asked, sitting down across from me.

"Yeah, you know, the one who knocked you out with a lamp and then went after me."

"So you were in trouble?" Sam asked.

"Yes, but not enough trouble for Dean to..."

"Kill them. Yeah, that was accident." Dean said, taking a sip of his coffee then putting it down.

"Well, here's why." Dean rolled up his sleeve and showed his arm to me. I gasped.

"The Mark of Cain..." I whispered, reaching out to touch it. Dean flinched under my touch.

"You know about it?" Dean asked.

"Yes. Remember that I also come from a line of demon hunters here." I remember Sam telling me about this but never that Dean was its current host. My stomach churned.

"This is not a good thing to have..." I whispered.

"I'm aware. Which is why I called everyone in here." Dean said.

"You didn't call us in here, we were already here when you walked in." Sam said.

"Same difference. There's got to be a way to get rid of this thing. For good."

"Dean, you know the Mark was made during the time of creation. There's no way we're going to find a cure for something that old." Sam said.

"There's gotta be some way, somehow." Dean said.

"There is one way, but I can guarantee neither of you will like it." Cas said, looking back and forth between Sam and Dean. The brothers looked at each other then narrowed their eyes at Cas.

"To find a cure as old as time..." Cas started.

"You need someone who's as old as time. Metatron." I said, finishing Cas' sentence. Cas nodded in appraisal at my answer.

"Do you think he'll have the answer?" Dean asked.

"It's worth a try. He is very knowledgeable."

"Very well. I will go with you to get him and we'll bring him here. Rae and Dean can set up the room." Sam said, standing up. "We leave immediately."

"Okay. Sounds like a plan. I'll text you when we pick him up. You know, I like texting. Especially with emoticons." Cas smiled and cuddled his phone next to his face. I looked over at Dean, who looked completely thrown off.

"He's your angel." I whispered. Dean glared at me.

"Cmon, let's go set up. We'll see you guys in a few?" He asked.

"Yep. See ya." Sam said and the two of them walked off. Dean then faced me.

"How much do you know about drawing out traps and such?"

"Plenty. Where are we setting up though?"

"Follow me and I'll show you." Dean said as he walked further into the base. I followed him through the kitchen and down a hallway. He opened a door and walked in. It was just a room with filing cabinets.

"That was thrilling." I muttered.

"Ah, but we're not there yet." Dean smiled and moved the cabinets out of the way. Behind the cabinets was a large room with a lone chair sitting in the middle. There was chains attached to the chair.

"So this is the room? Still not as impressed as you think I should be." I said. Dean sighed and handed me chalk.

"Well, here. Make sure none of the lines are disconnected and are drawn on thick. I'll make sure everything else is in place."

"You mean the torturing devices?" I asked.

"Jeez, when you give them that name..."

"That's what they are. No need to sugar coat it." I said, getting on my knees and retracing the pentagram. Dean was arranging things on one of the walls.

"Hey, Rae."

"Hm?"

"I have a question."

"What is it?" Dean went silent before speaking again.

"So you know when I was...attacking you?"

"Yeah. What about it?"

"It might've been the Mark talking, but...Did you call me Dad?" I froze. I did call him Dad. I totally forgot until now. I forced myself to laugh.

"Haha, I think it was the Mark. Why would I call you Dad?"

"I don't know...I just thought..." Dean shook his head and let out a laugh. "Well, I guess if I ever have a kid, I'd want it to be a lot like you. You're a good kid." I stopped drawing the pentagram as tears welled up in my eyes.

"Um, thanks." I said, and went back to drawing. I couldn't let Dean know I was crying.

"You want some lunch? I'm hungry."

"Yeah, lunch sounds great."

"Okay, I'll make us sandwiches or something and bring it down, okay?"

"Okay!" I said cheerily. I listened to his footsteps get farther before I reached up and wiped my eyes. I could've told him right then and there. But I didn't. Why? I didn't know. But it made my heart happy to hear him tell me I was a good kid. He's never said anything like that to me before. It made me feel...proud. Like I was finally doing something right. I let out a sigh and smiled. I wiped my eyes again and went back to drawing. Dean came back with lunch and we ate. After we were finished, we hung around the base until Sam and Cas came back with Metatron. I was upstairs when they brought him in. I only knew he was here because I heard a new voice next to the usual three. I came out of my room and watched them walk him into the room we prepped earlier. I was almost about to follow them when...

"Rae, stay upstairs." Sam said, looking at me.

"Oh. Okay." Sam nodded and followed Cas into the kitchen. I went back into my room and read until I heard Dean calling my name. I once again went to the top of the stair case.

"We're going on an errand, but you're staying here. Do whatever you want, but do not go into that room." He said, pointing behind him.

"Okay. I won't."

"I mean it. Don't go in there. Metatron is very powerful."

"I know. I'm not six. Trust me, I won't go in there."

"Okay, well, we're leaving." Dean said, and the three of them went to leave. "And I mean it, Rae, don't go in there!"

"Okay!" I said, and listened for the Impala. It started up and slowly got quieter and quieter as it got farther away. I couldn't help but smile. Little did they know that I had questions...

And they just left me with answers.

Hello guys!

This chapter was longer, but it soon became too long (and I wasn't even finished with it yet) so I split it up. The next chapter should be up soon, though!

Shout Outs to grapejuice101, HeyyAssButt, and Amethyst Raindrop 16 for leaving reviews. Thank you guys!

Until Next Time!
