Author's Note: I don't own Death Note, but I own my OC.
It was silent. All I heard was papers being picked up and put down. I also heard the clanking of tea cups that Watari is currently placing beside the panda-like detective. I sat in the main room awkwardly as the task force searched for evidence, once again, in files while L was looking at the evidence that came back from the tapes that Second Kira sent. "Mr. Yagami, if I happen to die within the next few days, I want you to assume that your son is Kira." said the great L. "Mmm...more hair." he added.
"What did you just say Ryuzaki?!" Mr. Yagami yelled. I understood why L said what he said, but he could have put it in a more comforting way, like 'Hey your son may kill me in a next few days because I believe he is Kira. I want you to think he is Kira too if I die, but I still think you are a good father and raised your son well, even if he is killing millions of criminals.' See what I mean?
While thinking this I missed the entire conflict between them. With L's attitude, I bet this won't be the last. "I'm getting myself something to drink" I said to nobody in particular. "I will come with you to get a piece of cake." L said. That ruined my plans. I kind of wanted to get a drink so I could get away from L and the other officers. "Okay." I replied unenthusiastic.
I went into the kitchen and open the fridge to see bottles of Yoohoo. I love chocolate milk. L, on the other hand was slicing a piece of cake that Watari left for him on the counter. This was the first time I seen him get his own cake. I walked out of the kitchen, leaving L behind and into the main room again. Suddenly, my stomach started growling. That's when I realized that I hadn't ate anything all day. I went back into the kitchen to get something to eat when I ran into L. Literally. I started falling until I heard a sound of broken glass and a strong arm wrap around my waste.
When I didn't feel the pain of hitting the floor, I looked up and saw L hovering over me. He still had his arm wrapped around me. For a split second, I he had a worried expression on his face, but as fast as it came, it went.
"Are you okay, Alex?" L asked after he balanced me on my feet. "Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks for not letting me fall." I said. Both L and I looked down to see my bottle and his plate shattered in pieces with cake and Yoohoo on the ground. "Looks like we will have to replenish." L said in his sophisticated way. "Why don't you just say 'get some more' like a normal person?" I asked.
"Well, I am the best detective in the world, which means I have a very large vocabulary. It is like a so called 'slang word' to me." L responded. Just L saying 'slang' was funny. It would be like Albert Einstein saying 'yo'. I got another Yoohoo and he got another piece of cake and we exited the kitchen very awkwardly.
The next day, we went to To-Oh college together. I missed a lot of classes already. It was cold outside. I'm a summer girl, so I don't like winter, except the Christmas part and hot chocolate. I had a class off at this time, as well as Ryuzaki. He was on a bench reading a book, so I sat down with him. "This is different. If you don't have class, you are usually working on the case, not sitting around." I told Ryuzaki.
"I am waiting for Light Yagami. I have a feeling that if he is Kira and he met the second Kira, then today will be the day he will try to kill me. I am going to prevent that from happening." he explained. I wasn't sure what he meant by that, but I guess I have to stick around to find out. Surprise, surprise. Light came out with the most famous female student at this college. I personally didn't like her. She always wanted attention, even if she acted like she didn't.
"Hi, Light. How's it going?" L said as he waved his hand to Light. Light hesitated before sending Takada away. He walked over to us. "What are you doing here, Ryuzaki?" Light asked politely. "Oh, well I thought that if you aren't Kira then there is no reason not to come to college. You are the only one on the outside who knows who I am. Also, I informed the task force that if I were to die today, that they should consider that you, Light, are a suspect on the Kira case. Besides, as long as I'm not killed, college is a lot of fun. You said it yourself that you missed having me here." L answered. Light had a frown on his face.
"Yeah, intelligent conversation is hard to come by." Light joked. "Well, at least you have Ms. Kyomi to talk to." L said. Light gave a 'are you kidding' face. "Yeah, something like that." Light answered.
Next thing I knew, some blonde girl came up and started talking to Light. "Li~ight!" she squealed. "Misa" Light said back. He gave me a look then looked back to her. What was that for? That was the beginning of when I saw Misa Amane.
Author's Note: Sorry it's been months since I updated. I was either busy, lazy, or I forgot. I continue the part where Misa comes in in the next chapter. I'll also try to make it longer.
