Sakura Blossoms. –
"Chu!" I sneezed and then glared aimlessly at the room. I hate spring, I sneeze a lot and all the bugs come back from the dead. However my roommate seemed even more upbeat during this time of year, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not but hey it's better than when he's trying to kill you, right?
I sighed unenthusiastically when I saw the amount of work that I had left to. I've been working a lot these past few days to finish it but my professors have a unique way to show that you're a good student. More work. Oh, the irony, I let out a frustrated groan and practically pried my hand off the desk and back to the paper. I was getting back into the work until a pair of arms flung themselves around my shoulders from behind.
I let out a small scream before thrusting the sharpened pencil back behind me preparing for a fight.
"Ooh, feisty today aren't we koneko?" The owner of the voice slowly retracted his arms from around me and I turned to face the culprit already knowing who it was.
"Kish! How many times do I have to tell you not to scare me like that? And quit it with the pet names." I growled putting the pencil back down.
He grinned from ear to ear while shifting his feet. "Sorry koneko, I didn't mean to scare you and what's wrong with your pet name?"
I shook my head not even trying to explain it to him and continued on the work I was doing.
"Hey," His voice rang out again this time much closer to my ear, "You've been locked in here all week. Are you seriously working more?"
I turned once more to glare at him, "Yes, is there a problem?" I huffed folding my arms.
"Yes, yes there is. I've been all alone this week! And if you keep working so hard you'll get bags under your pretty eyes."
I kept glaring at him waiting for him to burst into flames. "Go away."
He pouted giving me his puppy dog eyes. 'Aw, but Icchi-chaaaan, I wanted to spend time with you." He whined.
I thought for a moment trying to look away from him but his eyes were the perfect mix of alluring and cute that it became difficult to say anything close to no. "Fine." I pursed my lips and refused to blush as Kish lunged forward enveloping me in a tight bear-hug.
"Yay! Ok go get dressed!" He beamed cheerfully.
"We're going out? But you- "He cut me off with a hand on my mouth as he leaned in close his eyes catching the lighting perfectly.
"Don't worry about that. " He said quietly pulling back taking my hand with him. "Don't take too long~" Kish cooed as he left my room closing the door behind him."
I decided not to question this too much and went to the closet to find something to wear. I wasn't sure where we were going so I put on a casual emerald green dress that reached the middle of my thighs with a pair of black flats and tossed my hair into a loose bun before leaving the room.
Walking out into the living room I saw Kish waiting at the door with his back turned to me.
"Hey." I said walking towards him.
He looked at me his eyes wandered from my feet to my face causing me to wrap an arm around myself protectively. "You look beautiful." He said pulling my arm from around my chest and leaned forward to plant a gentle kiss on my wrist.
I blushed and pulled my hand away. "Where are we going?" I mumbled.
"Well, my dear, I thought we could go see the cherry blossoms together." He replied with a happy look on his face.
"But, what about all the people?" I asked in a 'You seriously didn't think this through' look.
"Who said anything about people?" I raised an eyebrow prepared to say something when he scooped me into his arms.
Suddenly the house was gone replaced by a beautiful garden, which to my surprise, was empty. Kish set me on my feet as I surveyed the area.
There were roses, poppies, lilacs, daisies, hollyhocks and other flowers covering most of the grass. But the eye catching thing here were the large cherry blossom trees cascading their gorgeous petals downwards like raindrops.
"Where are we?" I asked feeling the wonder in my tone.
Kish smiled and guided me down to a bench so we could sit. "At the royal garden." He stated simply.
I snapped out of my trance quickly and turned to reprimand him. "Are you crazy? What if we get caught?" I said lowly trying not to yell.
"Are you displeased? As far as I know most human girls like this stuff, right?" The childlike sadness tone in his voice made me feel guilty inside.
"No, I'm not displeased Kish. Just a little on edge that's all."
He smiled again placing his hand on mine in a comforting manner. "Calm down. You just need to live in the moment whatever happens next can wait." He said softly.
Quietly I obliged, resting my head against his shoulder unconsciously letting my tired aggression out and slumping my shoulders down as far as they would go. Something about this moment was so peaceful and so magical, everything washed away.
"Ichigo?" Kish's voice was filled with curiosity and slight surprise but he moved his arms inertly around my waist and placed his chin on the crown of my head.
I let myself melt into his larger form snuggling my head into his chest enjoying the warmth and security his body invitingly gave off. His arms remained still around me as the silence replaced words with a telepathic like communication.
"Hey, Kish?" I whispered pulling back slightly to look at him.
"Yeah?" He leaned back as well looking into my eyes as if he were trying to read my thoughts.
My mind worked absently as I leaned my face towards his my hand still intertwined with his. The essence of time faded with each beat my heart gave off.
"YOU THERE!" A masculine voice bellowed from out of nowhere.
I didn't have time to think before Kish let out a small 'uh-oh' and we once again left the way we came. In that short period of time before we reached home reality kicked in and I found myself blushing at the thought of my previous actions. I was so screwed.
Then we were home. I was placed on my feet which at the moment weren't providing me much support but I managed to stand up straight and avoid Kish's eyes which were busying themselves by studying my flushed face.
"I-I'm sorry…..about earlier." I stammered.
I gasped as I felt my chin being lifted up so my gaze was forcefully placed back to him. "Don't be, you we're living in the moment." He smiled sweetly and brushed a stray piece of hair from my face. "Maybe next time we can stay in that moment longer." He winked and then rested his warm lips on my cheek and like a ghost they vanished.
"What was that for?" I asked breathlessly.
"You seemed so desperate for my lips earlier I thought I might as well deliver to that request." His flirty tone had returned followed by my temper.
"You!" I snarled as I began to chase him around the living room.
Kish laughed and purposefully stopped in his tracks and turned with his arms open. I was too late once I realized what he was doing and I crashed into him landing on top of him. The blush regenerated at full force as he rolled us over so he was on top. I was about to blow on my rape whistle but instead he placed a chaste kiss on my lips and then got off of me. "And that was for a great time today." He chuckled as he disappeared somewhere else in the house leaving me alone on the hard floor.
What a gentleman.
