Author's Note: Sorry that it is taking me so long to update. Christmas was here, I had exams, also I am moving, so it has been crazy. Anyways, this is my 10th chapter. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!
It had been many weeks since all of them have been imprisoned. Misa changed completely. At first, she was very quiet. She would deny everything and then asked for them to kill her. Later, she seemed to be talking to somebody else, but there was nobody there. Afterwards, she passed out. When she woke back up, she was different. She was very talkative and claimed that she was tied up because she was a celebrity. She admitted that she loved Kira because he had killed the murderer of her parents. Also, she claimed to be Light's girlfriend, which stirred up some of my feelings.
She wasn't only one that has changed. Light has changed as well. He seemed to have his cold eyes, as usual, in the beginning. He kept giving comments that he thought he could be the real Kira. There wasn't anything to prove him wrong, sadly. The Kira killings had stopped. I started really believing that he was Kira until something drastic happened. Light started acting strange. He looked more innocent and kept denying that he was Kira. He said the imprisonment was a waste of time. Not only that, bu the Kira killings started up again. Apparently, Kira was just taking a break. For some reason, though, L kept this from Light. I'm not sure why.
The one I feel bad for most is Mr. Yagami. He had heard about Kira stopping the killings. But he seemed to brighten up after Matsuda told him about how Kira started killing again.
Today, L decided that he wanted to talk to Mr. Yagami. "What do you want to talk to him for?" I asked trying to get in their business. What can I say? I'm a very curious person. "That is none of your business. The only thing that you should worry about is how you are going to prove to me that you aren't working with Kira." L replied with a monotone voice, as usual. "Shouldn't me being with you 24/7 be enought? Just because I talked to Light doesn't mean that I'm some evil person." I was getting annoyed.
"Well, I will not let a suspicious person pass me without having a thorough investigation on them to clear their name. You may have been with me this entire time, but so have Light Yagami. I have a theory. Light could have just lost his "Kira" power and it transferred to someone else. Specifically, you." He looked at me with suspicion from the corner of his eyes.
"Hey, I..." I stated to yell, but was interrupted by Mr. Yagami coming through the door. "You said you wanted to talk to me, Ryuzaki?" He asked looking at L with tiredness in his eyes. "Yes. Please sit down." L waited for him to sit. "I have a test that I want you to conduct with Light and Misa. This could actually get you killed, so it is up to you if you are up to it or not." Mr. Yagami's eyes widen with horror. "Wha-What is it?" he asked shocked. "Well, Light doesn't know that the killings have stopped. We could trick him into thinking that he and Misa are being taken to their execution by you, but in reality, they are not. In the middle of you taking them, you pull over into a field where there are no people around and pull out a gun. Knowing you, if your son was really Kira, you would want to kill him then yourself. Because of this, we will be giving you a gun with blanks in them. You will act like you are about to kill Light. You will explain to him that you would want to kill him yourself then kill yourself. You will tell Misa to stay in the car and the other police will find her and take her to her execution place. Then you will shoot at Light. Of course he wouldn't die because there aren't any bullets in the gun." L explained as Watari brought him a piece of cake.
"I don't understand how this is necessary and how this would get me killed." Mr. Yagami said, not being able to handle the words that just came out of L's mouth. "Kira would kill anybody to stay alive and continue his regular killings, even his father. Misa would kill anybody who tries to take her precious Light from her. If you were to be killed, then Light is Kira and Misa is the second Kira." L explained.
Mr. Yagami took a few minutes to think about this. He had the look of pure horror on his face. Then he softened up. "I believe that my son is innocent. Just because of that, I will do this. When should we conduct this test?" he asked in a calmer state. "We will do it today." L stated then took a big bite of his cake. Mr. Yagami and I were shocked about the suddenness of the hardest test in the world. I can't believe he's putting Mr. Yagami through this. I hope he doesn't die. Personally, I regret that I'm not trying to persuade him to not do this. "Alright." Mr. Yagami said defeated.
Afterwards, the task force were getting everything ready for the test. Me and L were alone in the main room. "Why are you putting Mr. Yagami in danger?" I asked feeling terrible about the situation. "This was his choice. I need to know if Light is Kira or not." L stated without emotion. "Light is not Kira. You are the one that are killing people now!" I shouted at him. I raised my hand to slap him, but he grabbed my wrist.
He looked at me with anger. His grip kind of hurt. He wouldn't let go and I'm sure my skin was getting red. He realized this and let go and went back to his poker face. "Please refrain from violence." he said quietly. "You're one to talk." I said rubbing my rist. He glanced at my wrist and had a quick look of guilt, but as quick as it came it went. He wasn't one to apologize, I guess. "Please go to your room." he said. "I will not be ordered around..." I started, but was interrupted by him grabbing my other wrist, not as tightly as before, and dragging me into my room. I was getting annoyed that he was treating me like a child and that I kept getting interrupted. Next thing I knew I was in my room and the door was locked from the outside. "Let me out!" I yelled. I was met with silence. My back slid down the door, and I sat with my knees to my chest, crying. I was scared that Mr. Yagami will die, even though I didn't think Light was Kira, but I wasn't sure about Misa. Please let him be safe. Please.
