Author's Note: Please don't be mad at me for not updating sooner. This is my first year of highschool and I have already had to deal with drama and a whole bunch of school work.

Alex's POV

How long have I been here? It's felt like hours. I don't know if I'm being over dramatic, but any person would feel wore out from having to sit here and listen to the conversations of these men. All they talk about is how much money they are going to get off of me or if Jirou is cheating at the poker game. Oh, by the way, I've become very familiar with these men.

Jirou is the man who plans all of the kidnappings out. He's done this for about a year now and hasn't been caught. He's terrible at hiding his cheating at poker, though. Katsumi is the one who gets all the supplies needed to kidnap a person. He doesn't speak much. Ken is the one who does all of the action. He's very harsh with his words and doesn't care about others at all.

How do I know this? Well, they are very open to their captives. Probably not a smart idea, but I guess it wouldn't matter since I'm about to be sold like a slave.

"I have a question." I said. "Nobody cares." said Ken. We glared at each other. He won the glaring contest. I have to admit that I am intimidated by him. He weighs about 300 pounds, all muscle. How do I know this? He is very open. He's also the one that hit me. My face is still hurting from that.

"Please ask the question, already." Jirou said. "What will happen to me after I am sold?" I was worried about the answer.

"We aren't sure. They don't tell us what they do. We just give them the girls, and they give us our money. That's all we need to know." Ken said with a harsh tone. We all stopped. There was a sound from far away. As it became closer, we all realized what it was. I was the only one glad about it. The sound was police sirens.

L's POV

I searched every security camera in the area where she was kidnapped. Since it was dark outside, the cameras weren't that great, but I have an idea of where she went. This crime was carried out by three men I had been tracking for a while. I was waiting for them to lead me to the people they were selling the women to.

This was different, though. They had Alex. Usually, I'm not present during the action of the capturing, but I had to be there for this one. I watched as the police busted down the doors. I followed them as they went into the headquarters of these attackers with Light following since we were chained together. We entered a dark room where there was a poker table and various guns inside. I heard a slight squeal.

I grabbed the gun I had on me and aimed it straight at the attacker's head that was hiding in the corner. He had his gun pointed at Alex, who was in his arms. I noticed her cheek was bruised and swollen. She had tears in her eyes. This raised fury in me.

"What's up with this freak?" the guy said with a laugh. Everybody had their guns raised at the three criminals and the criminals had their guns raised at us. I focused on the guy who had Alex. "If you shoot, I'll shoot her." the guy said again.

"Ken, is it? I've kept track of you for a while now. I hoped that you would bring me to the buyer of the girls. I now have deal for you. If you give us the girl back and tell us who is giving you the money for the girls, I'll set you free and you will have a clean record." I said. "Ha, you expect me to believe you while you still have your gun raised at me?" he sneered.

"Everybody, put your guns on the ground." I ordered as I put mine down. "Ryuzaki, what are you doing?" Light questioned. "Fine, only if you let us go." the man responded to me as he slowly gave Alex back with the gun still pointed at her. She grabbed onto me as soon as she got close enough. "The buyer is Yuuto Nori. His headquarters is an underground facility next to the liquor store down town." he confessed.

"Thank you. We will be leaving now." I said with Alex in my arms. The criminals lowered their guns and eventually put them down. "Arrest them." I said quick before walking out of the building, dragging Light. The chief and the other did so with quick movements, before the criminals could fight against them. They took them to the police station, while Light and I took Alex back to the headquarters.

"Don't ever run away again." I demanded. "Thank you, Ryuzaki." she said with full relief.

Alex's POV

He rescued me. Not only did he plan the mission to get me back, but he actually raised a gun for me. This made me extremely happy for some reason.

When we got back to the headquarters, Misa started interrogating me about what happened. All I wanted was some sleep, so I excused myself from everybody to go to my room. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

"Alex." somebody said as I was being shaken. I opened my eyes to see L leaning over me. I looked at the clock. It was only 1 in the morning. "What are you doing in here? Aren't you supposed to be chained to Light?" I questioned. "He is asleep, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to unlock it for a few minutes. Your cheek is still swollen." he observed. As I was about to say something, he got up and went into the bathroom.

He came back with a bandage and medicine. I didn't know those were in there. He started doctoring my cheek up. "You were worried about me today, weren't you?" I asked with a grin. "Not necessarily. I just didn't want people knowing that I am L. You are very compulsive, so you could have leaked the information easily. Also, if you are Kira, then it wouldn't be good if you got away." he said nonchalantly.

Even though he says all of this, the look he had when the gun was pointing at me showed that he was worried. L did have emotions after all.
