Caesar

The audience cheered as I walked out on stage.

I laughed.

"Thank you! Thank you!" I yelled at the crowd.

"Thank you for being here tonight on the eve of the 75th Hunger Games!"

I laughed as the whole audience cheered.

"We have never seen anything like this. And we will never see anything like it again. Because tonight, on this stage, 24 of Panem's biggest stars will vie for the ultimate crown. Tonight will be their final opportunity to express their thoughts. Our final opportunity to express our love. And heartbreakingly to say goodbye to all but one."

The audience groaned.

"What a night."

I looked over the audience.

"Let's hear it."

The audience cheered.

"It's so exciting!"

I laughed.

Katniss

"A Wedding dress?" I questioned Cinna.

"President Snow insisted, but I made a few alterations."

Caesar

"You two made The Games a family affair. You became everyone's brother and Sister." I told Gloss and Cashmere.

"I don't know how we're going to let you go." I expressed to them.

"We're not going by choice."

The audience sighed.

"You are our family."

She looked down.

"And I don't see how anyone can love us better." Gloss continued.

The audience cheered.

"So sweet. So sweet."

Cashmere was sobbing.

"Are you alright, dear?" I questioned.

"I'm sorry."

"That's alright."

"I just can't stop crying."

Katniss

Cinna had helped me slide the Wedding dress on.

"God! Does anybody actually believe this?" I questioned, referring to Cashmere's fake sobbing.

"Apparently, everybody." Haymitch answered.

I glanced over my shoulder at the big screen.

"She is very good." Effie gushed.

"These Victors are angry, Katniss. They'll say anything to try and stop The Games. I suggest you do the same." Haymitch suggested.

Caesar

"Beetee... You have contributed so much to Panem over the years. I don't know who we will miss more. You or your brain."

I chuckled.

The audience laughed.

"If the Quarter Quell were written into law by men, certainly, it can be unwritten."

"Yes. Interesting concept."

The audience cheered as Finnick walked onstage.

"Finnick... I understand that you have a message for somebody out there. A special somebody."

He smiled.

I chuckled.

"Can we hear it?"

"My Love, you have my heart for all eternity. And if... If I die in that Arena, my last thought will be of your lips." Finnick recited the message.

Johanna was on stage.

"We have seen a lot of tears here tonight. But I see no tears in Johanna's eyes." I pointed out to the audience.

"Johanna, you are angry. Tell me why." I pointed out to her.

Johanna scoffed.

"Well, yes, I'm angry. You know, I'm getting totally screwed over here."

"Uh-huh."

"The deal was that if I win the Hunger Games, I get to live the rest of my life in peace."

I nodded my head.

"But now you want to kill me again."

She chuckled humorlessly.

"Well, you know what?" Johanna questioned.

"Fuck that!" She yelled.

The audience gasped.

"And fuck everybody that had anything to do with it!"

"Alright then. One woman's opinion."

Johanna joined the others on the stand behind me.

"Who's next?"

Katniss

"Alright. Turn around." Cinna instructed.

I turned around to face him.

Caesar

"I know it's a bad break for everyone involved."

Katniss

"I think I'm done."

"Will I be twirling tonight?"

"Save it for the end."

"One minute." Effie announced as she walked in.

"Is she ready?" She questioned.

Effie gasped when she saw me in the dress.

"Oh, Katniss. Oh..."

She approached me.

"You would have been the most beautiful Bride."

"Thank you."

"Let's go show them what real beauty looks like."

We walked out together.

"It has to go more up." It was Johanna.

"Oh, pretty, pretty. Katniss, they're going to adore you. And there are a lot of sponsors in the audience, so, of course, just be your usual self. Actually, be your happier self." Effie told me.

She was ruffling the train of my dress.

"Really? A Wedding dress?" Johanna questioned.

"Snow made me wear it." I answered.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome... You know her..."

"Make him pay for it." She told me.

"As the Girl on Fire. The Victor of last year's Hunger Games. Katniss Everdeen!"

The audience cheered as I stepped onto the stage.

The train of my dress was trailing on the stage behind me.

Snow

I smiled when I saw Katniss in her Wedding dress.

Katniss

"Katniss Everdeen, you look fabulous." Caesar told me.

"Doesn't she?" He questioned the audience.

Caesar laughed.

"My, my! Whoo, whoo, whoo."

He fanned himself with his hand.

"Now, Katniss, this is a very big and very emotional night for all of us. Wouldn't you say?"

"Oh, don't go crying on me now, Caesar."

"I can't make any promises. You know me."

I chuckled.

"You know I wouldn't believe you even if you did."

Caesar laughed.

"I love her! The Girl on Fire is so cheeky."

He laughed again.

"But, Katniss, on a more serious note. I think we're all here a little disappointed, more than a little disappointed, that a certain Wedding did not take place." Caesar told me.

"Aren't we, folks?" He questioned the audience.

"Aw..." The audience commented.

"Alas. But am I correct in assuming that this is the gown that you would have worn on that day, yes or no?"

"Yes. President Snow thought everyone would want to see it."

"Well, President Snow, as usual, was right."

Caesar laughed.

"Was he not, folks?" He questioned the audience again.

The audience cheered.

"I love it! I love it!" Caesar gave me his opinion.

"Don't you love it, folks?"

The audience continued cheering.

"It's incredible. It's so gorgeous." He gushed.

"Will you do us the honor? Please? Please? Please?" Caesar pleaded.

He chuckled.

Cinna nodded his head from in the front row.

I spun in a circle.

"Oh, my God!"

The white Wedding dress transformed into a violet dress.

"Oh, my!"

The audience cheered wildly as I put my arms out.

"It's a bird."

He stammered over his words.

"It's got feathers. It's like a bird. It's like a, um..."

"Like a Mockingjay." I completed Caesar's sentence.

I glanced over at him in the front row.

"Your stylist certainly has outdone himself this time, hasn't he? What theatricality!"

Snow

I was not amused by Cinna's trick with the dress.

Katniss

"Cinna!"

Cinna had stood up.

He was waving.

"Take a bow."

Cinna bowed.

Caesar laughed.

He blew me a kiss.

Peeta

I was on stage.

"But, Peeta, the Wedding, the Marriage, never to be?" Caesar questioned.

"Well, actually, we got married."

The audience gasped.

"In secret."

"A secret Wedding?" He questioned.

"Alright. Do tell." Caesar instructed.

"We... We want our love to be eternal."

"Of course."

The audience sighed.

"You know, Katniss and I, we've been luckier than most. And I wouldn't have any regrets at all if it weren't... If..."

"If it weren't for what? What? What?"

The audience murmured.

"If it weren't for the baby."

Katniss

I was surprised by Peeta's revelation.

I realized I haven't had my period in a month.

Peeta and me slept together once while we were on the Victory Tour.

Peeta

The audience clamored excitedly.

"Alright. This is news! Let's find out more."

They were in a frenzy.

"Calm down. This is news to all of us."

Haymitch raised his flask at me.

"Call off The Games!" A man yelled.

"Alright."

Caesar whispered to me.

"Let's, uh..."

"Stop The Games!" Another man yelled.

"Everybody, calm down."

I jogged up the stairs to the platform.

"It's a great night. A great night."

Katniss and me hugged.

She had grabbed my hand.

Katniss grabbed Chaff's hand in her other hand.

"This is news to all of us."

All of us joined hands.

"Alright, alright, alright."

We all held up our interlocked hands.

"We're going to find out what we do about this."

Caesar chuckled.

The audience clamored as they saw our interlocked hands.

"Cancel The Games!" A woman yelled.

"Stop The Games!" Another man yelled.

He signaled for them to cut the lights.

The audience clamored as the stage went dark.
