Chapter 8

Getting prepared

"Well guys, I think instead of calling each other by our full names; we should nick-name each other. Like you will be Hamel, you'll be Blueknight, and I will be Lazy, or Lazycooldude. What do you think?" "Sure!" "Yeah that sounds better." They said. "Ok, now that we have that settled, let's build something!" "How about a tree house?", "No! A fort sounds better!" Hamel said back to Blueknight. "Guys! Guys! Why don't we build a castle? And if you want us to build a secret tree house too, then we can!" "Ok, that sounds fair." "Yeah" said Hamel in reply. "Well you guys know it's going to take lots of time." I informed them, "We know!" they said. "Alright! Well let's get a move on!" I said. "Let's start the mine." I threw them a stone pickaxe each. They took them and started mining side-by-side. I grabbed my sword, bow and arrows and started walking around for the foundation for our survival; food. I saw a cow grazing on the grass along with a few sheep. I placed my arrow on the string carefully. Pulled it back, and let the arrow soar into the side of the cow; the impact caused it to get knocked over. I walked up to it and noticed that it wasn't dead, therefore I drew my diamond blade and cut into its heart; putting it out on its misery. I picked up the meat and leather and put it into my inventory, and walked back to the mine. Placed a crafting table, and crafted a furnace with some cobblestone. I then began to cook the food with the last piece of coal I had. When it was finished I grabbed it and brought it down to the mine and noticed that they weren't there. I walked down with my sword drawn. I then came across a small hole just big enough for me to fit through. I squeezed through and followed a trail of torches. I kept following them and notice that they stopped about 50 blocks from where the entrance was. I could barely see, but just enough to see where I was going. I then came across two shadows pinned against the wall. As I drew closer, I could hear thumping noises. With my sword drawn, hands shaking, adrenaline pumping, I jumped out and swung at the figures and then they vanished. As I stood there, the light became visible and I saw torches appear on the walls and my friends standing there astonished as to what I was doing. "Dude! You almost hit me!" "Yeah! What's up with you?" they asked, "I don't know, it's nothing, just I little jumpy." I said, "Well, we found some coal, 37 iron and two gold." "Cool! Well I brought you guys some steak." "Thanks! We were getting hungry down here." They said as I handed them the steak. We began to eat and I thought more of what those figures were, and how random it was that they vanished. Unfortunately it was too sudden and dark for me to make out there faces or any features of them. After we ate we then headed up to the sunlit surface and smelt the ores.
