Hi Fans,
No, I haven't went MIA nor have I gave up on this story. My laptop stopped functioning on me, I lost everything. I fixed my laptop, and I can say Im back in business. Sorry about this long month and a half wait. So here's the next chapter for all you lovely people who waited and waited and waited.

Chapter Twelve: Compensation for her Crimes
Naruko danced around her bedroom dressed in a pair of dark skinny jeans, a bra, and orange converse while humming a song. To say she was happy would be an understatement. She was escatic. She could move around freely and see more than white walls. She was free from that death trap of a hospital!
After Kakashi left for his mission, it was Tsunade's orders that she stay for a week. Naruko knew the busty blonde was just torturing her for leaving for that mission and almost getting herself killed. And what better way to do that than to keep her locked up in a hospital where she was suppose to stay in a bed recuperating. She also knew Tsunade knew she was perfectly fine and healed, but order that she got plenty of bed rest and stayed in bed. All she ever saw was white walls and nurses. She couldn't even get out of bed, and it got so bad, that she had to be strapped down.
She even thought she would lose it if she saw white another day, but suprised that she's still pretty sane. While cooped up in the hospital, her friends came and took the thoughts of white walls and nurses off her mind. Shikamaru came by occassionally, and they played shougi which she lost every game. Ino came by wanting to know how her 'relationship' was going. Hinata brought her flowers and talked for awhile. Itachi and Sasuke even came by to see if she was okay. Kiba, busy with work, snuck in at night and kept her laughing. One night, he bought popcorn and a scary movie and ended up falling asleep. It was funny when the nurse came in the next morning banding Kiba's visiting privileges.
Her friends couldn't stay forever, and the hours she had to herself was spent thinking about Kakashi. It was funny how a hit from her 'husband' landed him in her life. In those few weeks, she learned to really enjoy his company. She thought about him in perfect details. That kiss she gave him still lingered on her mind. It wasn't even suppose to happen, but her body responded on it's on. He would be gone for three months, and that gave her plenty of time to figure out her feelings since she doubted she would be going on missions any time soon.
Naruko pushed all that to the back of her head as she continued to get ready. It was 5:00 pm, six hours since she was released from the hospital. When Kiba picked her up, he invited her to hang with the click later that night. She agreed and decided to spend the day enjoying herself. No company. No fancy clothes. No drama. No problems. No Sasuke. Just Naruko and the things she liked to do then, in the next hour, hang out with her friends.
She searched her drawers of her dresser looking for her favorite orange plaid shirt. She tossed orange shirt after orange shirt over her shoulder until she found the desired shirt. It was a gift for her 18th birthday from someone. She wouldn't tell since it was on her list not to care about. The blonde put the shirt on buttoning all the buttons. Then she went to pose in her full length mirror. Satisfied, she went to put her hair in a ponytail with her bangs framing her face.
Just as she about to grab her car keys and head out, a knock sounded from her front door. Naruko skipped to her door and opened it.
"Hey Pervy Sage!" she greeted.
He returned her smile before ruffling her hair, "Hey brat."
"What can I do you for?"
"Tsunade wants to see you" he said.
Naruko hummed happily while following her godfather down the hall to the room where Tsunade would be. She knew what this talk was going to be about, so she was going to try to keep her happy mood for awhile longer. Jiraiya turned a corner, and Naruko practically burst in the room trying to ruffle her godmother's feathers.
"Hiya Baa-chan" Naruko smiled dodging a scroll aimed at her head.
"Wipe that smile off your face, Naruko. Have a seat" Tsunade said.
The blonde stopped smiling and took notice of her godmother. There's goes messing with Baa-chan. Tsunade sat at her desk with a hard stare. The usual playfulness wasn't in her eyes. Jiraiya, who now stood beside her with his arms crossed over his chest, held the same serious tone. She sighed before blopping down in the chair in front of Tsunade's desk.
"Naruko, what were you thinking?" Tsunade asked.
"I-"
"You wasn't thinking! You could've gotten yourself killed" Tsunade interrupted.
"Yea-"
"I don't want to 'Yeah, but I'm fine'. You disobeyed orders, Naruko" Tsunade gave a stare to Naruko.
"You know how I feel about kept out of missions especially if I wasn't told about them" Naruko countered.
Tsuande shook her head, "Not only did you disobey orders, but you also took down all my guards and ran off to Suna."
The whiskered blonde laughed to herself thinking about her great escape. It was quite the thrill sneaking around and taking out guards then going on a high speed chase. They were no match to her.
She ducked just in time to miss the scroll coming towards her. "Naruko, are you listening to me?" Tsunade asked.
"Yes, Hokage-sama" Naruko mumbled.
"Now because of your last stunt, the council has stepped in"
"So what are they going to do? Lock me up?" Naruko sarcastically said.
"Yes" was Tsunade's answer.
Naruko stared at her shocked, "You're joking right."
"You're not going to prison" Tsunade reassured.
"Then were are they putting me!?" Naruko half yelled half asked jumping out her seat.
Tsunade gave Naruko a glare telling her to step back down to which Naruko took her seat again. "Running off was the last straw for the council, Naruko."
Before Naruko could say something, a knock came from the door. At Tsunade's loud enter the door open revealing none other than her 'husband'. Naruko mouth hit the floor. This can't be happening! Why did I have to go on that mission?
"Lady Tsunade, you wish to see me" he spoke in his monotone.
"Yes, Sasuke. Have a seat" Tsunade said motioning to the the other chair beside Naruko.
Sasuke casually walked over to the seat Tsunade offered him seconds ago and sat down. "You might want to close your mouth, dobe. Flies might fly in" Sasuke whispered to her.
Naruko snapped her mouth close. She crossed her arms turning away from Sasuke. She swore she saw him smirk when she turned away from him. What gives him the right to joke around with me?
Tsunade cleare her throat, and Naruko turned her attention back to the Hokage. "I have called you two here to talk about the decisions of the council. As you know, Kakashi was given a mission that Naruko, and Sasuke, went against orders and intruded on," Tsunade gave Naruko a threatening glance just as she was about to speak "Naruko you know your role in this village, and you went gave out disclosed information jeopardizing the mission and your life. The council seems to think you are an important asset to this village, and they would love to keep the asset.
"They have banned to send you on any more missions. You are only a last resort for missions now. You are to spend more time at your company instead of out getting away with murder. Also, the council has been informed of you resolving you're maritals problems and want you to stay with your husband who is to keep an eye on you. When he can't be around, Itachi would keep up with you."
"They can't do that" Naruko protested.
"Yes they can, kid," Jiraiya spoke up "if you can't agree to their rules, you have to give up your dream of becoming Hokage."
"Sasuke, could you give us a minute. I'll be out shortly" Naruko said staring at her noticing the tension in the room, left the room quietly.
"Kid, we tried everything" Jiraiya spoke.
"I don't agree to their terms, and I tried to talk them out of it. They bought up your position to the hokage seat and made it final" Tsunade said.
Jiraiya sighed, "they get the finally say."
"I'll do it" Naruko said. Tsunade and Jiraiya both gave her shocked looks. "I'm going to show them that they can't tear me down. Im Naruko Uzumaki Namikaze, and I never go back on my word," Naruko stood up from her seat and turned to leave "bye Baa-chan, Pervy Sage."
"Oi teme, you planned this didn't you!?" Naruko yelled meeting Sasuke outside.
Sasuke chuckled, "Planned, no. Fate is just on my side right now."
"This is not funny, teme. Quit laughing" Naruko said.
Sasuke chuckled again causing Naruko, "I'm enjoying this though."
"Yeah yeah yeah" Naruko mummbled under her breath.
Just as Sasuke was about to comment, Naruko's phone rang. Naruko fished the phone out of her pocket and answered it.
"Naru speaking" she answered.
"Naruko, where are you? It's 6:30" Kiba barked through the phone.
Naruko smacked herself, "I totally forgot. I got busy."
"What do you mean you forgot?!" Kiba yelled
"I had to see baa-chan. I'll be there" Naruko said.
"Hurry up. Ino's getting impatient, and I think Shika's about to be broke."
"Im on my way" Naruko said hanging up the phone.
She turned to Sasuke giving him her puppy dog look to which he returned his deathly Uchiha glare. They stood there for doing that for a couple of minutes before Sasuke broke off the eye trance.
"Where to?" Sasuke asked.
Naruko squealed before hugging him, "Karaoke Bar."
"If you wanted to touch me, all you had to do was ask" Sasuke joked.
Naruko pulled herself off Sasuke quickly muttering about temes and got in the passenger side of Sasuke's car. Sasuke chuckled then got in the driver's side and drove off. In the short time, Naruko's happy mood returned back.
Kiba sat at the bar of Karaoke Bar watching all the excitement happening. Earlier he was joking around with Shikamaru, Shino, and Choji. Shikamaru had dared Choji to ask some girl out in the bar knowing that Choji wouldn't do, and he would win. Kiba saw and told Choji that Shika would treat him to anything he wanted off the menu. That boosted Choji's ego and left Shikamaru flabbergasted. Kiba got a crack out seeing Choji ask the girl out, score a date, then come back picking up the menu while Shikamaru's mouth dropped lower and lower.
Lee was somewhere challenging Tenten to some crazy stunt. Hinata was talking to her cousin, Neji in the corner of the room. Ino was flirting with some hot dude she saw walk in not to long, but that was before Sakura showed up shocking everyone.
Now Ino and Sakura was having some type karaoke sing off while Hinata watched and bobbed her head along to the music. Shika was clutching his wallet before it disappeared while Choji wolfed down his fifth plate. Shino sat at the bar quiet as before. Neji had joined Tenten and Lee, wherever they were. Kiba sat at the bar watching everything, and Naruko had yet to show up.
"I win again, Ino-pig" Sakura said smiling at Ino.
"I've told you not to call me that, Billboard brow" Ino told Sakura.
Sakura ignored the insult and walked off towars Kiba, "Hey Kiba."
Kiba stared at her, "Sakura."
"I wanted to say sorry about two weeks ago. I shouldn't have flipped out like that" Sakura apologised.
Kiba stared at the girl in shock, "Did you just apologise?"
"Yes, I realized some things, and I really shouldn't have hurt you like I did" Sakura explained.
"Uhh... I forgive you... I think" Kiba said slowly.
Sakura squealed giving him a quick hug, "Thanks for understanding, Kiba."
"Hey guys!"
Kiba turned around to see Naruko waving at them.
The ride to Karaoke Bar was quiet except for a few questions. Naruko was happy again, and if she remembered correctly, Sasuke was on her list to not worry about, That's exactly what she was doing, not worrying about Sasuke.
Sasuke pulled up to the bar, and Naruko jumped out the car. She ran inside and spotted all her friends including Sakura. Naruko just pushed all her thoughts about Sakura to the back out her mind. She was not worrying over certain things right now.
"Hey guys!" Naruko shouted over the music and waved at Kiba and Sakura getting their attention.
"Naruko"
She looked over her shoulder to see Sasuke coming up behind her, "Yes, teme"
"I'm leaving. I'll be back to get you" he said.
"Ok, see ya" Naruko said about to walk off.
"And Naruko"
Naruko turned back around to be pulled in Sasuke's embrace. Naruko opened her mouth to protest, but Sasuke crushed his lips on hers giving her a quick kiss. Before she could retaliate good, Sasuke disappeared out the door.
"Teme, Im going to get you when I get home!" Naruko shouted then turned towards her friends who had all gathered and was staring at her in shock except Sakura who looked to be disgusted.
"What? Can't a girl kiss her husband in public?" Naruko asked trying to strika Sakura's nerve to which she succeeded as Sakura stormed off. Naruko didn't care; she was not worrying about her drama for the night.
