My Roommate is Still the Same:

He'd booked it, found the address of her home and finally made his arrangements to leave. Sitting on the sofa, in an empty home apart from his presence, Ludwig stretched his back and shoulder muscles that cramped from hunching over his laptop. His eyes moved around the room, reluctantly landing on a stack of boxes by the entrance, labeled 'to be mailed' with An'na's new address on a sticky note.

She was at work, not that he was terribly surprised. He pulled himself up to stand and walked over to the few cardboard boxes. Despite the situation, Ludwig couldn't help but smirk as he gave the tiny piece of paper a playful little flick. Those were his sticky notes that his roommate took the liberty of borrowing without asking him. "I have to get you your own set of these too…" he mused aloud and flicked the yellow piece of paper again for good measure.

That was why Ludwig had bought her a first aid kit; pain meds, among other things, to avoid another bathroom incident. She would have her own and he could leave the house knowing his room wouldn't be invaded. But that woman always seemed to find something new to take from him, the most recent being those small pieces paper stuck to her packed boxes. He shook his head and walked back to his laptop. An'na was never the memo type, so Ludwig never considered getting her a notepad or sticky notes. But, well, he supposed people changed or maybe not at all, even when they had their own things.

"I'll just make a memo to myself …" He rubbed the mouse pad to wake his computer from sleep mode. It wasn't much of a goodbye gift, but it was something. Ludwig would sneak it into one of her packed boxes, leaving a little note of his own that said now she didn't have to 'borrow' from someone. Yes, that was a good plan.

His screen showed the confirmation of his flight details, from Germany to Italy. He moved the mouse to minimize the window but paused at the little red button that read 'Change flight'. The black cursor lingered far too long over the link. He could always…It wouldn't hurt just to see. He pressed it.

A/N: Pff, some people never change, Ludwig!
