Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters but my own OC. This is for the enjoyment of fangirls and fanboys!

I'll try to keep it brief but holy Hell its been three years since I have last had an update. I wandered here out of boredom. I needed something to read and gained inspiration to write, edit, and finish my own stories. I started this the summer of 2010, right before starting High School and I am now in my second year of college! Time sure does fly by. Looking back on these chapters I cringe and laugh all at the same time. People actually liked my terrible writing and I appreciate it a bunch! I've edited a few chapters and will hopefully re-upload them soon. One per week? I'm about half way through but editing takes a long time. I don't know where I planned on going with the plot back then but I've got a few ideas ! I realized how OOC I made Zero so hopefully I will do him justice now! I will mention this again in my updated chapters too.

With these updated chapters some of the comments/review might not match because I may have edited a few things out. Sorry for that.

Enjoy!

The following day Ami was worse for wear. Unlike the previous night, which involved tossing, turning, and lack of sleep overall, today she was more rested but that didn't reflect on the outside. She definitely had more energy to go about her day but her mind was not well rested. Every class felt like they dragged on longer than usual. As if the professors themselves purposely chose today, of all days, to give longer lectures filled with a lot of group interactions. Quite frankly she wasn't up for any of it. Even thinking about what was for lunch was making her groan. It was another thing she had to do and became heavy on her.

The letter form last night was in her bag and that is where it would stay. She was afraid that even if it were left in the safest place in her dorm it would somehow disappear and that would freak her out even more. The black and gold letter remained sealed though. Currently she couldn't bring herself to open it albeit curiosity was killing her. It was a rather conflicting situation; open it and face the worse or think of the worst all day? Ami wasn't really sure what she wanted to do. All she knew was that this dilemma was taking too much of her time. Her time needed to be placed elsewhere. Towards her education. She worked hard to get here and slacking off is unacceptable.

It was now the most thrilling part of a student's day and Ami spent it with her face buried in her bag. Lunch time. Her stomach didn't flip in hunger nor make any embarrassing noises. Her normally large appetite diminished and from here on out it would probably just get worse. . .

The area she chose to rest was the Homeroom, mostly because she didn't have it in her to get up and move to another spot. On the bright side the room was practically empty except for a small group of classmates that chatted and ate amongst themselves. This relatively quiet moment of hers would not last do to the silver haired male sitting beside her.

Zero.

Walking into the classroom and scanning the area his lavender orbs immediately fixed themselves on Ami who, unlike her classmates, was face down into the desk, and most of the day she had been on the quiet side. Her comedic remarks and eagerness to answer class questions were nowhere to be found. Now, everyone has their bad days and most would brush it off as such but when you know a person and how they act you just know their abnormally bad day has a deeper meaning. Especially after last night Zero needed answers.

"Ami." Now sitting beside her he gently called her name but earned no response. "Are you okay?" He tried again and yet again he was greeted with silence. Until he got an answer from her he wouldn't stop calling to her. "Can you answer me or at least look at me?" Once again no response was yielded and to that he sighed deeply from his nose. At this point he was frustrated, the man did have a short fuse, but mostly he was worried. Zero may not be a chatterbox or very expressive unless they were emotions that were equal to pissed off but this was an important person to him. If you were important to Zero he would annoy you to no end. "If this has to do with last night then I-"

His final attempt of getting an answer from the raven haired girl was interrupted by her. Ami's head slowly turned to face Zero and on it a weak smile was plastered. "There's no need to apologize. You are not the cause of my troubles." This was true, despite what had happened between them and the pricking she felt at her neck it was something she would worry about when it was brought up, kind of like homework.

"That's a relief because then it would have made my next question awkward."

"What question?" She asked with an arched brow.

"I'll ask you later."

Her brows now furrowed as a pout became present. You never tell someone they have a question or gossip then hold out! "Aw, why do you do this to me?"

"I enjoy tormenting you." Zero stated with a smirk. A huge wave of relief washed over him as he saw Ami's facial expressions. He knew something was still eating at her but for now this adorable display was good enough. Her mood seemed a bit better.

"Figures."

"Now are you going to tell me what happened last night? One minute you're fine then the next. . . You're wailing like baby and vigorously shaking and HEY!" Zero yelped and rather loudly too, the cause? Ami's foot which took the liberty of kicking him on the knee.

"Do not say such things aloud or someone might hear!" She practically hissed at him. She didn't need people knowing of her issues, she didn't need anybody but Zero asking her what happened since he was directly involved, and she most definitely didn't need people questioning why Zero was consoling her crying self. It would only add to the whole dating suspicions. She didn't need any of it at the moment and was truly grateful Zero hadn't mentioned the kiss they shared.

Her feelings weren't in check. She wasn't sure if that's the kind of thing she wanted between them. Especially now.

Leaning in close Zero brought his lips to her ear, barely an inch apart to whisper, "If you hadn't run away I might have taken everything off."

This had caused Ami's normally pale features to be tinted rose as she pulled away, posture now straightening against the chair's back. Albeit he was kidding he was still truly impossible to deal with.

"Oh God," She practically whined in a high pitched tone as her eyes rolled within their sockets. "How do I put up with you? Just leave me alone. I want to sleep or else I won't be able to help you with the zoo later."

Zero's mouth immediately opened to protest but instead he sighed in understanding. First night of patrol didn't go well and Ami was running low on sleep. For now, he would do as she says, allowing her some sort of rest.

"Alright. This time I'll listen to you but I expect you on time later, you know, since you'll be well rested." Says the one who could never manage to be on time. Pushing back on the chair with his foot he came to stand at full height, large hand giving Ami's raven locks a messy ruffle earning him a grunt from her. "Though I expect an explanation maybe not now but soon."

The rest of the day went by smoothly but at the same agonizingly slow pace as in the morning. Ami was feeling much better after her little talk with Zero. He was disturbing her peace but it was clear he was there to cheer her up. To an extent he managed to do so though she would need a dozen buckets of sunshine to lift her mood up now. Currently she stood between the hormonal Human student body and the Night Class. Her short lived nap fueled her enough for this at least. Beside her were Yuki and Zero who seemed to be struggling as well. This was the wild crowd before the Night Class came out and when the gates opened the crowd grew restless.

How could teenagers be this troublesome at school?

Walking down the cobble stoned pathway were the usual bunch Kaname, who couldn't keep his eyes off Ami, Shiki and Rima side by side per usual, Souen with the same old unapproachable demeanor, Aido flirtatious as ever and so on.

"Is my education really worth getting trampled over?" It was a thought spoken aloud that indeed received an answer though she wasn't looking for one.

"At least these girls aren't getting physically aggressive. That would most definitely be worse." Beside the raven haired girl stood Ichijo, emerald eyes staring into her own with a smile.

"If that happened I would have to start carrying a taser. They take you bunch too seriously. Like a celebrity."

Ichijo could only chuckle at the girl's comment. He knew exactly what she meant. She held a rather difficult job now and the chatty girls weren't helping her either. Ami's name was on their tongues in all forms whether it be jealousy for talking to Night Class student again or hatred because they were not in her position.

"This can be exhausting on both ends." He spoke loud enough for only Ami to hear. The other girls didn't need their feelings hurt. Out of all the Night Class students Ichijo was the most appealing in terms of personality. He was smart, carefree, and charming. "You'll get the hang of this soon. Either way thank you." With that he was off with a wave of his hand toward her and the crowd which earned him a bunch of 'I love yous.'

Soon after that the crowd had diminished then disappeared completely. Both Yuki and Ami slumped down against a tree with a sigh.

"All done for the day. . . At least with the crowd!" Yuki spoke cheerfully. Her attitude was always held up high even in these annoying situations.

"Yeah, then we do this again tomorrow, the day after that, the following week and up until I die trying to graduate. Urgh!" Both hands raked and pulled at raven locks as she grunted.

"Stop whining. Be like Yuki for once and do things without groaning and moaning."

"I will when you stop being a little shit."

On Yuki's face there was but a smirk. This group of three was certainly lively. Both girls then stood from the ground and dusted off their clothes. After a brief moment of chit chatting the trio split off to go about their duties.

Well into the night the moon hung high in the cloudless sky. By its side were the scattered stars shining just as brightly as it. Ami took the moment to take in the beauty that was nature. From the moon and the stars to the very campus she lived on. It wasn't until now that she took notice at just how perfectly gardened the place was. The sights before her and fresh air would do her good.

On the fountain's edge she sat, elbows pressed into her thighs, hand holding her head in a hunched position. Her eyes remained hidden behind closed lids for the better part of the past half an hour until a slight breeze sent a chill down her spine. She quickly sat up straight with wide eyes . . . The same ominous presence from before was back. She felt herself now suffocating in her own uneasiness and anxiety. Though she remained calm on the outside for if there was something lurking she wasn't going to give off the impression that she was scared.

Her eyes wandered for a bit before she came to a full stand, feet guiding her off. Anywhere but here she wanted to be. She needed something to do, something to fiddle with but there was nothing. Somehow her feet had dragged her to a place her and Zero enjoyed being in, stables. White Lily was a very ill-tempered horse and seemingly only liked Zero though the horse never seemed to be agitated when Ami was around, it was unsure why. Perhaps because White Lily always saw her with Zero? Who knows? At the moment the horse was sound asleep and Ami tip toed her way into the stables to take a seat on the nearby haystack.

It came to no surprise that eventually Zero showed up to this location as well. He wasn't one to slack when it came to the Night Class but he would always come by to check on the ill-tempered horse and on this night he found Ami. Quietly he approached her until he stood a mere two feet from her, arms crossed and foot tapping.

"Are you honestly tired or just that much of a slack off?" He asked while taking a seat beside her.

"Can't it be both?" The chuckle that soon followed was weak almost forced which did not go unnoticed by Zero.

"C'mon Ami, I know something is eating at you. So what is it?"

With a defeated sigh her eyes moved from her fiddling hands and locked with the lavender pair that stared back at her. "Everything is."
