A/N: I own nothing except my OC`s. Corpse Party is owned by Team Gris-Gris/Grindhouse. Zenka, Denka and Keybi are owned by Axel the Moon.
The next day, Seiko woke up and noticed that Zenka and Keybi were not anywhere in the house.
"Hm, that`s odd" she mumbled to herself. She made herself some breakfast, while thinking about why they had left. As far as she knew, her father wasn`t coming home until a couple of days later. She went to school with Naomi, like she did everyday, and they began chatting.
"So, any luck asking Mochida-kun out yet?" Seiko asked while waggling her eyebrows and nudging Naomi`s side.
"Do you always have to ask me that?" Naomi asked back, slightly annoyed while blushing. Seiko only grinned in response, causing Naomi to sigh. After a few hours, they reached the front of the school gate, where their friends were waiting.
"Hey guys!" Seiko yelled and waved at them while running towards them. They waved back and Naomi ran to catch up with Seiko.
"What are you standing around here for?" she asked.
"We were waiting for you two" Satoshi replied. "For a second I thought you were gonna be late" he added jokingly.
"Hey come on, we didn`t take that long" Naomi whined, causing the others to laugh. Yuka then pulled on the sleeve of Satoshi`s shirt.
"Onii-chan, look" she said, pointing towards a person who was panting. After they straightened up, the group of friends could see it was Gonta. However, he was wearing different clothes from before, a first since he and Honda never changed clothes since they couldn`t afford new ones. He now wore a different white shirt, covered by a blue jacket, blue pants, white socks and ubawaki slippers. Above the breast pocket, where the Kisaragi emblem was, was a nametag that had his name on it. He walked towards them.
"What`s with the new clothes?" Yoshiki asked.
"Well, I`ve finally graduated to Kisaragi Middle School" Gonta replied while smiling. This caused the girls to gasp while the guys just stood there dumbfounded. Eventually, Yuka broke the silence.
"That`s great Gonta-kun" she beamed and ran over to hug him. The others eventually recovered from their dazes.
"So that`s what the middle school`s uniform is like. I`ve always wondered that" Ayumi said.
"Honda would be proud" Satoshi blurted out. Upon hearing his brother`s name, all happiness disappeared from Gonta`s face. "Looks like he`s still taking it hard" Satoshi mumbled.
"Well no shit Sherlock" Yoshiki stated. Satoshi gave him a small glare, but Yoshiki just ignored it.
"Aaaaanyway, school`s about to begin so let`s go inside" Naomi said, trying to lighten the mood. Gonta shock his head to shake off his moping, he then nodded along with the others. After they said their goodbyes, Yuka and Gonta went to the middle school while the others went to the high school.
Satoshi and the others took their seats in the classroom. The bell then and the teacher entered the classroom. However, it was not Denka. Instead it was a tall woman who looked about as old as him. She had long white tied into a long tail and azure eyes. She wore a white shirt covered by a black jacket, white shorts, knee length black socks and black shoes. She also had a brown amulet around her neck.
"Hello students, due to Denka-san not being able to show, I will be taking over his lessons for today" she said. "My name is Koun Niwa, nice to meet you all" Koun added with a wide smile.
"Koun Niwa, she has the same surname as Aiko-san. Could that mean…I have to find out more about this" Ayumi thought to herself.
After the lesson had ended, Ayumi went to Koun`s desk.
"Miss Koun" she said, catching the teachers attention.
"Ah Shinosaki-san, what can I help you with?" Koun asked.
"Well, are you by chance related to Akio Niwa-san?" Ayumi asked.
"Ah yes, Ai-chan is my little sister" Koun replied. She then looked around to make sure no one else were in the classroom. Once she confirmed that was the case, she asked "Is it true you have the Book of Shadows?". Ayumi nodded, "Alright then, I`d like to accompany you to Heavenly Host. I have a suspicion that Ai-chan might be there" Koun said.
"Are you sure? That school is really dangerous and you can get killed there" Ayumi asked. Koun nodded without hesitasion, "Okay then, please wait by the gate once school is over" Ayumi said. Koun nodded and Ayumi left the classroom.
The school day had ended and Gonta had gotten back to his apartment. For his first day of middle school, it had went rather well. He only needed to read up on the things they had already learned.
"Seems like things are finally settling down" he told himself. He then sighed sadly, "If only I could have helped Honda like this before". Suddenly the doorbell rang, snapping him out of his thoughts. He opened it and found Satoshi and his friends standing outside.
"Come in" Gonta said, letting them inside. "Who`s the woman with you?" he asked.
"Oh, this is Koun Niwa-san. She`s our replacement teacher until Denka-san gets back" Ayumi replied. They then took a seat on the couch.
"Well then, what did you want us all here for Ayumi-chan?" Seiko asked. Ayumi responded by pulling out a book with a brown cover with a skull on the front.
"What is that?" Satoshi asked.
"This is the Book of Shadows" Ayumi replied. Gonta looked over at Koun, who had a look of intrigue on her face. "With this, we can revive our friends" Ayumi exclaimed with excitement.
"Really?" Naomi asked hopefully.
"Yep" Ayumi confirmed. Everyone cheered in excitement, happy that they could revive the friends they had lost. "However" Ayumi said, interrupting the cheers. "We need to go back to Heavenly Host for it to work" she finished. The apartment fell silent.
"Sorry Shinosaki, but there`s no way I`m going back there" Satoshi said.
"M-Mochida-kun?" Ayumi asked confused.
"Same here" Yoshiki said. Naomi and Seiko said the same thing.
"But guys, don`t you want our friends back?" Ayumi asked.
"Of course we do, it`s just…we could die this time. It`s too risky, sorry Shinosaki" Satoshi replied. Ayumi just looked at him in disbelief. Suddenly the ground began to shake wildly. Then, in the blink of an eye, he ground opened up and swallowed them all whole. All that Gonta could hear as he fell was a maniacal laugh.
"Are you okay?" a familiar voice asked. Gonta then started slowly opening his eyes. He saw two familiar ghostly figures, Nari and Chihaya, looking down at him with worry on their faces. He then sat up and looked around.
"You`re okay, that`s good" Chihaya said, looking relived. Nari however, was not looking at Gonta, but rather his new clothes. Gonta then stood up and dusted himself off.
"It`s good to see you two again" he stated.
"What`s with the new outfit?" Nari asked.
"Oh, I finally graduated to middle school" Gonta replied. He then noticed that Nari was just staring at him. "Um, c-could you…please stop staring at me?" he asked while averting his eyes and blushing slightly. Nari then noticed what she was doing and quickly turned to face the other way.
"S-sorry" she quickly apologized. Chihaya lightly giggled at this, knowing how her friend felt towards the blue haired boy. "Just so you know…I-it looks good on you" Nari briefly stated, blushing furiously.
"Thanks" Gonta said, lightly smiling at her. Nari didn`t even try to respond, only mumbling something inaudible.
"NARI!" they heard someone yell. Nari recognized the voice and so did Gonta.
"Is that…dad?" Nari wondered. As she wondered that, four people came in through the doorway, two teenagers, a little girl and a man. They were none other than Zenka, Hinata, Keybi and Denka. They all came into the room, panting. Nari ran over to her father and embraced him.
"Nari, at last I found you" Denka said, hugging his daughter back.
"Since you`re here, we can assume that the others are here to right?" Zenka asked.
"Yeah, we were all dropped of here a few seconds ago" Gonta replied.
"Well then, our first priority is to find them" Zenka said. Everyone present nodded and the moved towards the doorway they came in. However, just as they did small, sharp objects flew right past them, cutting Zenka, Denka and Gonta`s right cheeks.
"Woah!" they all shouted at the same time. Blood then came from the cuts on the males cheeks.
"What was that?" Hinata asked.
"Kunias" Gonta replied, seeing one of them on the wall in front of them.
"But how? They don`t sell those type of weapons anymore" Denka said. Just then, a blue flame appeared in the doorway. "What`s the meaning of this?" Denka asked.
"So that you can`t leave" a young male voice said. They all turned towards it and saw a young, though older then everyone present except for Denka, man`s spirit with a seath containing a katana around his waist. He was unknown to Zenka and the others, however, Gonta recognized him right away.
"H-Honda?" he asked.
"It`s been a while hasn`t it?" Honda replied. Gonta couldn`t believe what he was seeing. Honda, his older brother, was standing in front of him.
"Who are you and how do you know Gonta?" Keybi asked.
"For your information, Gonta is my brother" Honda replied. The others gasped at this.
"Is it true Gonta?" Hinata asked. Gonta nodded, confirming Honda`s statement.
"He is the spitting image of Zero…this explains how Gonta was able survive for so long" Denka thought.
"Comparing me to my father are we?" Honda asked.
"Can you read minds?" Denka asked, surprised that Honda knew what he was thinking.
"No, your face told me all I needed to know" Honda replied.
"So, I take it you know that his friends are trapped here to?" Zenka asked. Honda nodded, "Great, then if you`d let us out of here then we can get to saving them" Zenka said.
"…Naïve fool" Honda stated.
"What was that?" Zenka asked. In response, Honda drew his katana from its seath, causing Zenka to step in front of Keybi and Hinata.
"If you want to leave this room, you must defeat me in combat. That way, at least you`ll stand some chance against the horrors of this school" Honda said while pointing his katana at Zenka, who slowly stepped forward.
"Go get him Zenka!" Hinata cheered. "This should be a piece of cake".
"I wouldn`t count on it" Gonta said, causing the others to turn towards him. "Never underestimate Honda, that is one thing I`ve learned from living with him for so long".
Zenka pulled a bow staff from his coat and got into a fighting stance. Honda did the same, putting the blade close to his left cheek. Honda then dashed towards Zenka, who simply swung his staff at his legs. Honda jumped over it and tried to slice Zenka`s head of, but Zenka ducked under the slash and gave Honda a uppercut to the jaw. Honda stumbled back a bit, but quickly responded with a kick to the stomach. Zenka doubled over in pain, giving Honda a chance to kick in the side of his face, sending him crashing into a wall. Honda tried to stab him, but Zenka got out of the way, causing Honda`s katana to get stuck in the wall.
Zenka took this opportunity and swung his staff at Honda, who was sent flying back a bit.
"He`s doing rather well so far. Still, I can`t help but feel as if Zero`s oldest son is holding back, don`t let your guard down Zenka" Denka thought. Honda got back up and dusted himself off. Zenka then pulled something out of his cloak.
"The hell is that thing?" he asked himself. Zenka tossed at him and he back-flipped backwards.
"Cover your eyes!" Zenka yelled at the bystanders, who did just that. In a split second, the room was filled with a bright light, blinding Honda who had not covered his eyes, unlike everyone else in the room. Zenka pulled Honda`s katana out of the wall, ran towards the spirit, and stabbed him through the wound in his chest.
"Gahhh!" Honda cried in pain, causing Gonta to turn away. Nari looked over at him in concern.
"Yes, nice one bro!" Keybi cheered. To everyone`s surprise however, Honda delivered a hard punch to Zenka`s stomach, knocking the air out of him. Zenka stumbled back while trying to catch his breath and Honda pulled the katana out of his wound, tossing it to the side afterward.
"This is getting dangerous" Chihaya said, "This isn`t going to end well is it Nari-chan?".
"Not unless they stop soon" Nari replied. After they had recovered, in the blink of an eye, Honda had closed the distance between them and punched Zenka in the face multiple times. Zenka tried to roundhouse kick him, but Honda blocked it. After Zenka got back on his feet, Honda tried to punch him, but Zenka caught his fist and kicked him in the face. Honda flew back, but landed on his feet.
"I think that`s enough" he said. He then snapped his fingers and the blue fire in the doorway disappeared.
"Wait, didn`t you say that I needed to defeat you?" Zenka asked.
"You seem capable enough to protect your friends" Honda replied. "Know this though, keep those you hold dear close, otherwise things could get ugly fast". He then picked up his katana and disappeared.
"Some brother you`ve got there Gonta-kun. Didn`t even stay to look after you" Keybi pointed out.
"Hey guys, look over there" Chihaya said and pointed at the wall Honda`s katana had been stuck in. It had started to crack, as if something was pushing against it from the inside. After a few moments, it collapsed with Yoshiki and Satoshi entering the room.
"Yoshiki, Satoshi" Gonta exclaimed, catching the attention of the two teens.
"Gonta!" they both exclaimed.
They all went into the opening that Satoshi and Yoshiki had created, with Naomi, Seiko, Ayumi, Koun and Yuka all waiting. After some brief introductions, they explained why they had gone there.
"Well now that you`ve found your daughter, what will you do?" Koun asked.
"Now we need to find a way out of here" Zenka replied.
"Well, since these guys escaped once, they should know how to do it again" Hinata said.
"I don`t think we`ll get as lucky this time" Gonta retorted.
" "Lucky" what do you mean?" Keybi asked.
"We were only able to escape by appeasing Sachiko last time. I doubt that it will work again" Satoshi replied.
"You are partly right" a voice said. They turned towards the sound of the voice and saw a familiar figure.
"Sachiko-chan!" Ayumi exclaimed.
