Sure enough, it was in fact Sachiko. Only now she was transparent like all other spirits, her dress was no longer red and her hair didn`t cover as much of her face as before.
"What do you mean by "partly right" ?" Denka asked.
"I meant what I said" Sachiko simply replied. Denka gave her a look of confusion. "I can send some of you back, but not all of you" she added.
"How many of us?" Satoshi asked.
"I`d say two or three people" Sachiko replied. Satoshi and Zenka immediately looked at their little sisters.
"Oh no, you`re not getting rid of us THAT easily" Keybi said. "And don`t give us that "it`s too dangerous" talk, you can`t just expect us to leave you like that".
"She`s right, I`m staying here with you guys! And nothing you say can change my mind!" Yuka almost shouted. The others looked in surprise at how determined the two little girls were. Zenka and Satoshi sighed in unison.
"They`re not changing their minds, are they?" Zenka asked.
"Not likely" Satoshi replied. "All right then you two, we won`t try to send you home" he said.
"Thank you so much!" the two of them squealed in delight.
"Sachiko, do have anywhere safe you can take us?" Naomi asked.
"Yes, follow me and I`ll lead you there" Sachiko replied. She began walking in the direction she came and the others followed her. On the way, Chihaya noticed that Gonta seemed to be in deep thought.
"Hey Gonta-kun, what`s bothering you?" she asked.
"Something just seemed off about that fight Zenka had with Honda" Gonta replied. "Despite what he said, it didn`t seem like he was trying very hard".
"Yeah, you have a point there" Chihaya agreed. "You have seen fight before right?" she asked.
"Yeah, and he was way better than that" Gonta replied. "It just doesn`t add up" he thought to himself.
"Here we are" Sachiko said while standing in front of a doorway. She entered and the others followed.
"Hey, this is the infirmary" Seiko said, recognizing the place. Naomi felt a chill run down her spine as she remembered the last time she had been there. Seiko gave her hand a soft squeeze to comfort her. Naomi smiled at her friend and everyone went to find a place to sit. Denka and Koun leaned against a wall, the girls sat on a bed and the rest of the guys sat on the other bed.
"Well now what?" Zenka asked.
"I say we split up and try to find our friends" Satoshi replied.
"Well we can cross Honda off the list" Gonta said.
"You already met him?" Yoshiki asked. Gonta nodded.
"How does he even have friends?" Hinata asked.
"He may give a bad first impression, but he`s not a bad person" Yoshiki replied. Hinata could only shake her head in disbelief.
"What`s wrong Shinohara-san, you seem out of it?" Ayumi asked, noticing the change in Seiko`s mood.
"Oh, it`s nothing really" Seiko replied.
"Concerned about our friends?" Naomi asked. Seiko nodded.
"I just can`t imagine what it`s like, feeling the pain of your death forever and slowly losing your sanity to this place" she said.
"All the more reason to bring them back" Koun stated. They all nodded.
Honda was wandering through the halls of Heavenly Host, leaning on the walls for support. He eventually sat down on the floor.
"That fight took more out of me than I thought it would," he said to himself.
"Why do you resist?" a voice in his head asked. "What could you possibly hope to gain?".
"Shut it" Honda simply bit back.
"There is no need to keep up this delusion of a better tomorrow," the voice continued. "If you keep on resisting, you will only know pain and suffering. All those you know and love will all suffer the same fate regardless of what you do. Nothing you do can stop me". Honda didn`t bother to reply this time.
"There is no one who can help you, you`re on your own" the voice said. "If you simply give in, this could all be over". Honda then got up and walked away, unaware that Aiko had been watching him.
Zenka, Keybi and Hinata had formed a group and were wandering around the school. They had all decided to split up into small groups to find Mayu, Morshige and Miss Yui. Satoshi and Yuka had formed one group, Seiko, Naomi and Gonta had formed another, Denka went with Nari and Chihaya and Koun had went with Ayumi and Yoshiki.
"Remember to watch your back everyone, this place is dangerous" Ayumi had warned them. The ones who didn`t know three of the four dead friends were given descriptions on what they looked like.
"Am I the only one who feels like we`re being watched?" Hinata asked.
"It`s felt like that since we came here" Zenka replied. "But don`t worry, I`ll protect you Hinata" he added, giving her a reassuring smile. She nodded while blushing lightly.
"Geez, how heroic of you big bro. You like her or something?" Keybi teased, causing Zenka to blush madly.
"It`s not like that!" he yelled.
"Big bro`s got crush" Keybi said in a sing-song voice. Hinata couldn`t help but giggle at the display.
"A-Anyway that`s not important, what IS important is finding these friends" Zenka declared, still blushing lightly. Hinata and Keybi nodded and they kept moving.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the school, Naomi, Seiko and Gonta were all looking for the friends as well.
"No luck so far" Seiko stated, "But we can`t give up".
"I wonder if the others are okay" Naomi said.
"I`m sure they`re fine" Seiko reassured her best friend, Naomi nodded slightly in response. Gonta however, just kept walking not saying another word.
"You doing okay over there Gonta?" Seiko asked. Gonta snapped out of his little trance.
"Oh, yeah I`m fine" he replied. "What`s up with me? Recently I`ve just been in my own little world" he thought. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain and grabbed his head in pain.
When he opened his eyes, he found himself in the town he grew up in, Yanabori. He was in a hospital, where he saw a younger version of himself standing next to a bed where a younger version of Honda was. He had many bruises all over his body. In addition, he was bleeding from his forehead. Just then, a nurse walked into the room.
"She`s so familiar" Gonta thought. She walked towards the younger Gonta and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Don`t worry, he`ll be fine" she said, trying to reassure him. The young boy sniffled in response.
"I`m scared" he said. The nurse then lead him out of the room. Before he had exited the room entirely, he managed to say, "Big bro".
He then snapped back to reality, at least as close to reality as Heavenly Host could be. He quickly told Naomi and Seiko that he was fine and they continued walking.
"I remember that, that was after Honda`s first day of being attacked. I found him like that in between two houses," Gonta thought as he frowned at the memory. Before he could say anything, the ground shook violently.
"What`s that?" Naomi asked. She soon got an answer as the familiar figure of Yoshikazu came from around the corner.
"We have to run now!" Gonta yelled. The three of them ran back the way they came, only to be intercepted by the spirit of Miss Yui.
"Ah, my dear students" she said, though she sounded like she was on the edge of madness. She also looked different from other spirits, having gray skin, her clothes were ripped and a dark purple aura similar to Sachiko`s surrounded her. In addition, she had a crazy look in her eyes, as well as her smile. They looked back and saw Yoshikazu slowly walking towards them.
"Great, we`re trapped" Gonta said.
"Now what do we do?" Seiko wondered aloud.
"There`s nothing you CAN do!" Miss Yui exclaimed, her grin getting wider. She and Yoshikazu slowly approached Gonta, Naomi and Seiko, the three now trapped. Suddenly, the hallway was filled with smoke, causing Miss Yui and Yoshikazu to cover their eyes.
"Now`s our chance, run!" Gonta yelled. Naomi and Seiko nodded and they did just that. By the time the smoke cleared, the three of them were out of sight.
"Dammit, where could they have gone?" Miss Yui asked herself angrily. Yoshikazu gave a loud moan in response. "What, how is this this MY fault?" she asked angrily.
Elsewhere, the three who escaped were catching their breaths.
"I think…we lost them" Naomi said. Seiko and Gonta let out a collective sigh of relief. "Now, just who saved us?" Naomi asked. A spirit appeared in response.
"Honda" Gonta exclaimed, but then realized something and backed away slightly. "A-Are you a friend or a foe?" he asked, remembering their last encounter.
"Don`t worry, I`m a friend" Honda replied.
"That`s good to know. Why did you attack us like that anyway?" Gonta asked.
"The kunai was to get your attention, the fight was to test your friend" Honda replied simply. "Speaking of which, who was that guy anyway," he asked.
"Wait, you don`t know who that was, yet you know he was a friend of Gonta?" Seiko asked.
"I didn`t know that either" Honda replied. "It just seemed like it from what I saw. So, who were they?".
"The one you fought was Zenka Namikage. He`s a guy we met not long before we came here" Gonta explained. "The girl his age was Hinata, a friend of his. The younger girl was Keybi, Zenka`s little sister. Finally, the man was Denka Amatoya, Nari`s father. He was also a friend of mom and dad when he was young".
"I see" Honda said, holding his hand on his chin in deep thought.
"Hey, are the others okay?" Naomi asked.
"I can sense that they`re at least alive" Honda replied.
"…That`s better than nothing" Naomi mumbled, looking down at the floor. "I just hope that Suzumoto and Morishige aren`t like Miss Yui" she said.
