Chapter 19
"Oi" Freddie shouted as he rushed into The Loft, as Fraser came into view Freddie grabbed him and pushed him into a nearby wall holding him up by the scruff of his neck.
"What are you doing? I suggest you get your grubby hands off me" Fraser fumed as he tried to break himself away from Freddie's grip.
"I want you to tell me why you've gotten mum pregnant and why you're pressurising her to give the baby away" Freddie announced, by doing this Freddie thought he would find out all the information he needed to make sure he and Lindsey would finally get the life they so badly dreamed of.
"It was an accident, honest. I didn't want another child, I thought baby Rose was the last. I'm sorry Freddie" Fraser shouted in a scared tone.
"Explain to me why you want her to give this baby away? I know she wouldn't have made that decision alone, there's something you're hiding isn't there" Freddie retorted, slightly worried about what he might hear next.
"There isn't, we were just careless that's all" Fraser said, Freddie still wasn't convinced it seemed that he was lying about something and he was going to find out what.
"I aren't letting you leave this room until you tell me exactly what you've done!" Freddie moved towards the door, locking it. He put the key safely inside his leather jacket pocket.
"You can't tell anybody what I'm about to tell you! I'm in some serious trouble. If I'm ever caught out then all of my children will be killed just like Claire and I can't let that happen, We need to keep this whole pregnancy a secret. That's why your mum wants Lindsey to adopt it, she has known about the baby for about 3 months now" Fraser announced. Freddie was very shocked by this news.
"When will you learn! If you really cared about my mum you would have broke up with her a long time ago. She doesn't need all of this upset. I want you to leave the village and never bother my family again" Freddie said sternly.
"I can't just up it and leave, I love Sandy" he pleaded.
"I don't care how you do it, I just want you out of our lives forever" Freddie had determination in his voice, Fraser had gotten himself into some sort of predicament and Freddie wasn't going to allow him to interfere with Sandy's life any longer.
"Can't I at least say goodbye to Sandy" Fraser asked.
"No, you've got till the end of today to leave! If you don't then I will make sure you suffer everyday for the rest of your life" Freddie scowled. Fraser seemed quite scared, something which Freddie hadn't seen before.
"Make sure Sandy's happy please, and the baby" Fraser pleaded.
"Don't worry they'll be much happier without you snooping around, now get gone! I don't want to see you around here again" Freddie dragged Fraser by the scruff of his neck and dragged him out of the club. Fraser got inside his car and drove off into the wilderness, Freddie hoped that this would be the last he saw of him. His main focus now was Lindsey, Sandy and the unborn baby.
Once Fraser was completely out of sight, Freddie went straight back to the hospital to support Sandy, when he arrived she was getting ready to come home much to his relief. With Sandy being okay he could now work on making a go of things with Lindsey.
"How are you feeling mum?" Freddie asked as he pulled her into a gentle hug.
"Much better now thank you sweetheart, there's no need to worry about me" Sandy said as she kissed Freddie's head.
"I can't help but worry about you you're my mum. Is everything okay with the baby?" he enquired.
"Yeah, we've just got to wait till he or she arrives now" Sandy said with a proud smile on her face.
After a short while Lindsey came in.
"You already to go then Sand? We're all going to cook you a nice meal" Lindsey announced.
"Are we now?" Freddie laughed sarcastically.
"Yes you are" Lindsey playfully tapped him over the head.
After around an hour everyone was sat around the table eating a freshly cooked meal. Robbie and Jason had chipped in to, meaning everything was done quicker. The only person missing was Joe, it was hard on Freddie knowing that he was no longer around but he had to put on a brave face for the rest of the family as he needed to become the father figure of the house for a while. As the months went by Freddie and Lindsey were doing okay together, they were finally able to be themselves. Two lovers with no regrets or worries in the world.
At first it was hard the for the family to come to terms with the fact of them being a couple but Freddie reassured them that it was the best decision they had both made, everyone could see how happy they were together so they eventually got used to it. There was still nothing from Joe, Freddie had tried to contact him on a number of occasions but had no joy. It appeared to him that he and Grace fled the village as she was nowhere to be seen either. Fraser hadn't been seen much to Freddie's relief, he really didn't want to be dealing with that waste of space again, it appeared that his prayers had been answered. Sandy was doing okay and was nearly due to have the baby, she still wanted Lindsey to become the sole carer of the child, Freddie had told Lindsey his plans for when the baby arrives and she agreed, they hadn't told the family yet but they would cross that bridge when it came.
On the 29th of January Sandy gave birth to a bouncing baby girl, Elsa Mai Roscoe came into the world in the early hours of a Sunday morning, weighing in at 6lbs 3oz. Everyone fell instantly in love with the most beautiful baby girl any of them had ever seen. When Sandy brought the new addition to the family home everyone fussed over both mother and baby. Freddie and Lindsey knew it was almost time for them to become parents to baby Elsa, they both went on a shopping trip to buy her a little outfit that they would dress her in on their first outing together as a family of 3.
Freddie and Lindsey were currently in Mother Care cooing over the cute outfits which came into view.
"Oh Freddie look at this, she would look so cute in this!" Lindsey squealed in excitement as she saw a small pink dress with a matching pair of socks.
"She definitely would, how about this then?" Freddie's face lit up at the sight of a light blue and maroon football kit just like the one's the Roscoe family wear at their annual boxing day football match, the kit was aged 1-2 years meaning Elsa wouldn't be able to fit into it yet, but by the time the next annual match came along she would be big enough to wear it.
"Let's buy her both of them, Sandy will love them!" Lindsey said in an excited tone.
"Why not hey!" Freddie pulled Lindsey close and kissed her head.
Once the outfits had been paid for they both made their way home.
"Mum look what we've bought for Elsa!" Freddie bounced in, with Lindsey following close behind. They rushed into the living room to see everyone looking slightly upset, with Sandy no where in sight.
"Where's Sandy and baby Elsa?" Lindsey enquired with a confused look on her face.
"They've gone Linds" Robbie shrugged, looking slightly gutted.
Elsa was only a couple of weeks old but in her short life everyone had become besotted with her.
"Gone? Gone where?" Freddie shouted.
"Mum's took her alright! We're never gunna see either of them again!" Robbie retorted, he quickly left the room, Jason followed him soon after.
Lindsey was devastated, the chance of her being a mummy was quickly snatched from her, after her history with Joe all of those times came flooding back to her, how twice before she had chances to be a mum and they were also snatched from her.
Freddie walked over to her and pulled her into a tight hug
"We will have a child of our own one day Linds, Elsa is where she should be with her mum. I knew from the word go that mum wouldn't want to give her up" Freddie soothed, he was gutted that Sandy had taken her but nothing had become official. Sandy was on the birth certificate meaning nothing could be done. Nobody had any doubt of their safety they all knew that she would do an amazing job of bringing up Elsa on her own, everyone wished that they could stay in contact with them both.
"I don't understand how she could lead us to believe that we could have her and then just up it and leave" Lindsey sobbed into Freddie's chest.
"I know Linds, but sometimes people change their mind about things and sometimes they make the right decisions" Freddie rested his chin on her head and gently rocked her from side to side.
"I thought this was going to be my chance to finally become a mum" Lindsey sighed.
"You will become a mum one day soon, I promise" Freddie said, smiling at the thought of actually having a child with her. He used to daydream of it a lot and he hoped one day those dreams would come true.
"I'm sorry for overreacting, I shouldn't be upset over this!" Lindsey shook her head with embarrassment.
"Don't worry Linds, we understand why you're upset" Ziggy kissed her cheek and left the house.
"Why don't we got out tonight or something? Take our mind of everything" Freddie offered with a bright smile on his face.
"I might just get an early night actually, you don't mind do you?" she asked.
"No of course not, snuggle time with you is priceless" Freddie winked, causing her to laugh.
"Who says you're getting cuddles" Lindsey smiled.
"You can't leave me to lay there freezing cold now can you?" Freddie added.
"Maybe if you're good and leave me to get a bath I might just change my mind" Lindsey teased, leaving the room and making her way upstairs.
Once near the bathroom she knocked on the door, Jason was in the shower so she thought it would be a good idea to see if Robbie was okay.
"Robbie!" Lindsey called as she was standing outside his and Jason's bedroom door.
"Alright Linds" he said. Lindsey opened the door and found him sitting by the wall clutching a photo of Elsa.
"You okay sweetie?" she asked as she sat down beside him, smiling at the picture.
"I'm just gutted that mum's took her, having her around has kind of changed my view on life" he said in a sad tone.
"I have noticed a slight change in your behaviour since she was born, non of us have ever seen you be so gentle with anybody or anything before" Lindsey smiled at the memory of Robbie holding Elsa on the first day she came home introducing himself in a soft voice.
"She's the best thing that's ever happened to this family, and mum's gone and took her!" Robbie shook his head and a single tear fell from his eyes.
"We should let them settle for a few weeks and then we'll try and contact them" Lindsey pulled Robbie into a hug letting him know that she was there for him.
"Thanks Linds, you're the only one that seems to be able to keep this family together" he smiled.
"This whole thing has made me realise that life's too short to be sad about things that happen, we're a family we need to stick together through tough times. Even though she can't be with us we need to be strong for Elsa and of course Sandy" Lindsey proclaimed.
"You're right, I need to man up a bit don't I" Robbie laughed, quickly wiping his eyes on his sleeve.
"It's okay to be upset, its probably done you good to have a little cry anyway" she said.
"Don't tell anybody will ya!" Robbie sounded a little embarrassed.
"I wont, now pull yourself together before Jase comes back. He'd better hurry up I want my bath" Lindsey laughed.
Lindsey eventually got her bath after a long wait. Around half an hour later Freddie joined her upstairs, he had a small bunch of roses in tow. The aroma which was made from them was absolutely beautiful, Lindsey was still in the bathroom when Freddie walked into the bedroom, he placed the roses in a nearby vase on the bedside table. He carefully moved the vase forward so the roses would be fully visible to her once she walked in, Freddie was so excited to see her reaction as every little smile she gave made him fall even more in love with her. He sat on the bed and waited for her to come in the room. As she walked in the room Freddie got up and gave her a hug.
"Are those roses for me" she asked with a huge smile on her face.
"Yes, I couldn't think of anything else which looks just as beautiful as you" Freddie beamed.
"Oh Freddie, thank you so much! I love you so much you know" Lindsey softly kissed him.
"I love you more, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me Lindsey" Freddie really couldn't believe how lucky he was. He knew that every morning from now on he would wake up next to Lindsey and he would be able to look after her and make her happy constantly. As they both fell asleep in each others arms that night, Freddie felt safe in Lindsey's embrace. The family continued to wonder where Elsa and Sandy were, Freddie was going to try and contact Sandy in the morning, he wanted to reassure her that they all loved her and that they would always be there for her if she ever needed them. Elsa came into his thoughts quite a bit to, although he didn't want to admit it he was quite upset that she was no longer in his life.
