Time for another installment of: His and Hers! Do you guys like that name? I literally just came up with that… Answer in your reviews whether you like this name or to keep it as His Hair.

His Smile

Annabeth had been having a rough day. First, she gets attacked by a huge hell hound. Now when I say huge, I mean larger than the standard As big as a car hell hound. This one was the size of a subway car. She was just walking down the sidewalk in New York when she smelt it coming. Yes, its stench was that abhorrent.

After being chased for seventeen blocks, yeah: seventeen blocks, she was finally able to run the grotesque creature into a work zone and into a pit that was currently being filled with cement.

How ironic. It's like a cartoon… She thought.

After that, she took a cab to Camp Half-Blood. The cab ride costed her $138 of her mortal money. She only has twenty bucks left. Then, the harpies jumped her for coming in after the time Chiron had set for her return. They literally jumped her. She was walking past the Big House and they flew from the roof and started attacking her. She had no choice but to kill Gladice… Honest!

She was basically ready to shove a spear down the throat of anyone who looked at her for a duration longer than thirteen milliseconds.

So her boyfriend definitely made the mistake of grabbing her by the waist from behind.

So naturally, she did what any pissed off girl would do: she judo-flipped him. On the ground. Hard.

She immediately clasped her hand over her mouth in shock as she gazed down at Percy. She thought that he would explode and go off into a rant that she would never hear the end of.

Instead, he smiled. His pink lips pulling up into that adorable crooked smile that seemed to radiate happiness into everything around him. His eyes, sparkling with amusement and the afternoon sunlight, crinkled around the edges as his mouth quirked upwards.

His teeth, always as white as snow (not the yellow kind, obviously) seemed to blind her. As she stared at his gracious smile, she started to forget. Forget everything that had happened to her that caused her to be unhappy.

She let herself go and grinned back a little bit. She blinked and suddenly was laying on the ground in Percy's arms. He looked down at her, almos having a double chin (which, in Annabeth's thoughts, was amazingly handsome on him) and his eyes twinkled with laughter.

She looked right back at him and smiled again, this time her smile covering her entire face. Then they started to laugh. And she felt better than she had in a long time.

And she realized just what Percy could do to her. She thought back to all the things he made her do. Her jealousy over Rachel and Calypso, taking that knife for him during the war, searching endlessly for him when Juno had taken him from her, not sleeping or eating until they found him.

Those are negative things though. The positive things. She can go into his cabin and curl up next to him in his bed and meld to him completely, forgetting all the troubles of her life. And then he looks at her and smiles. And she almost cries because of how lucky she knows she is to have that smile in her life.

So she does what she always did: she smiles back and snuggles closer to his body, stealing the warmth rolling off of him in waves.
