A/N: Finally. I've been sitting on this for a long time. I apologize for the long wait, but it is what it is. Thank you for all the kind reviews (400, wow!) and messages. I'm sorry I've made you wait so long. How you like the double update with ComeOnJustifyMyLove? Pretty nifty, eh? The vote was very obvious for one side of the Tegan debate. If you didn't cast a vote, then you don't get to complain about where the story went. A few things:
I STILL WANT ART! I just want something that I can use as an icon for the story or a poster or something, anything. Make it NSFW, make it adorable, do a portrait of Dani, draw stick figures, draw a random blend of colours, draw multiple things, do a manip. I don't care. I just want it so badly.
If you're gonna message me about how much you hate the twists in the story (especially the sci-fi fantasy ones) just don't. I gave everyone a heads up at the beginning it was gonna be like that. If you want a Tegan and Sara fic to go differently, write your own. This is my fantasy land. I'm happy to share it :D

Chapter 41: The Next Chapter
Tegan's POV
I rubbed the baby's back as she laid on me and dozed. My eyes were on Sara's as we just stared at each other silently. I could hear the crowd walking around the basement. We'd confused them, good. They had no idea where we were. We'd already been down here for 4 hours and I really had to pee. I bit my bottom lip and Sara leaned in to kiss me softly, effectively distracting me from my bladder for the moment. I'd been texting Emy back and forth. Her and Lindsay were supposed to move into their new place today. She was working with the police to try and get here.
Sara gently rubbed my tummy, making me relax. At least she was here. She makes this almost bearable. Dani hiccupped and my head snapped up to meet my wife's eyes as we both felt the panic spread. The baby started to cry and we pulled her up, kissing her and whispering to her.
"Shh Dani, it's okay. Shh. It's okay. Come on baby please stop crying" I urged under my breath.
Owww. No yike. 'Cup'cups owww!
Sara quickly lifted her shirt and shoved her breast into the baby's mouth. Dani latched right on and started nursing, seeming to calm down. I sighed in relief and placed my hand on Sara's forehead, kissing her softly as I felt her relax.
The crowd must have heard, because I heard them all start to break though the studio door. Fuck. I made sure the cases were completely hiding us.
Sara's POV
As soon as Dani started nursing, we both calmed down. Nursing always did this for me. Tegan's hand came into contact with my skin and I felt the peace surround me. When I heard the first of 2 barriers between the fans and us give way, I felt my panic rise. I looked down at my daughter's eyes and saw her fear increase. Tegan tugged at me and I opened my arm to her, letting her lay on my other breast and put a hand on Dani's back.
"I wish we were just invisible right now. That they couldn't see us" she whispered as the door to the storage room as flooded with pounds and yells.
I kissed her forehead and played with her hair. I still didn't know what would happen if they got to us.
"I love you Tegan, no matter what. I love you and our little DanDan" I whispered, kissing my wife's temple and patting my baby's bum.
Tegan nodded and I saw Dani smile up at me and reach for my face. I took her tiny hand and leaned down to kiss it.
Tegan's lips were on my cheek. I held them both tightly as the door gave way and they flooded into the storage room. I covered Dani's ears to shield them from the shrill, what I can only describe as, Justin-Bieber-like screaming. You could tell there was confusion amongst them as they'd wandered into a seemingly empty room. That was until someone started taking the cases off the shelves.
Tegan's face pushed into my chest and Dani started to fuss. I closed my eyes and just held them tightly as we were exposed to the crowd.
I looked up as the noise slowly died and saw them all look at each other confused. Two of the girls were looking directly at me, but seemed to see right through me. One tried to reach into our little compartment, and pulled back, shaking her hand. What the fuck?
"There's like a…forcefield. This is too freaky for me, I'm outta here" she said. Just as she turned to leave, the entire crowd vanished, and only Kaki and Emy were left standing there. They ran over to us.
"Oh thank god you're okay" Emy chimed, reaching for Tegan and helping her out first.
Tegan nodded "Holy shit."
I put a hand on her back and felt her shaking as I sat up and sung my legs over. I turned to our friends.
"Whatever you did, thank you. That was…" I trailed off.
"Terrifying" Tegan finished for me.
"We weren't gonna let anything happen to you guys" Kaki said.
"Why didn't you guys just get on the…" Emy started.
I put up a hand and pulled Tegan to me "Don't." I said firmly.
Emy just nodded.
Auny Emy!
I smiled and kissed Dani's head, giving her a snuggle, just taking a moment to thank our lucky stars she was okay.
"Yes little one, Aunty Emy's here" I told her.
Emy's face lit up "I'm right here Dani."
I smiled and handed the baby over to her. Emy and Kaki cooed over her while I turned to my wife. Tegan seemed really shaken up. I kissed her forehead and rubbed up her back, pulling her into a hug.
"It's okay love, I'm here. We're okay" I whispered.
She nodded but sobbed into my shoulder. I kissed her temple and rubbed her back, gently rocking us and holding her.
Mommy. Mommy.
Dani started to whine. Emy handed her over to me and I kissed her, handing her to Tegan.
"Mommy's right here Dani. It's okay baby girl. It's okay" Tegan reassured her, kissing her face and snuggling her to her chest.
I kept rubbing her back and looked up at Emy and Kaki "We'll meet you upstairs?" I ask them.
They nodded and walked out of the room. Tegan needed a moment to be emotional and I knew she'd hold back in front of our friends. I kissed her tears and held her face as she looked down at our baby.
"Sara, if anything happened to her…" she whispered.
"I know Teegs, I know. But it didn't she's fine. A little scared, but she's okay" I remind her.
Mommy. Mommy Tiss.
Tegan obliges and kisses her, making her giggle and causing my wife to finally smile and sniffle back the tears.
Again!
Dani giggled as Tegan kissed her face again, then blew a raspberry on her tummy.
Mommy Funny. Nom Nom Nom mommy.
Tegan smiled as I wiped away her tears with my thumb.
"Okay baby girl, mommy's gonna get you some good noms. Right after I go potty" she told her, handing her to me.
I gave Tegan another quick kiss "You alright?"
She nodded and returned the kiss "I really have to pee."
I nod and finish wiping her tears for her.
"Can you come with me?" she whispers.
By this question, I can tell she's still scared. I see it in her eyes, can hear it in her voice. I feel it too. This place isn't safe for us anymore. Our home isn't safe. I take her hand and walk with her to the bathroom. I kiss her before she pulls her pants down and sits on the toilet. I look around. I feel violated. Like all my boundaries have been bombarded against my will. I gulp against the feeling and look to Tegan, she looks like she's on the edge of sanity. I run my fingers through her hair. Nothing about this is okay. She takes hold of my wrist and kisses my palm before standing up and flushing, going over to wash her hands. I hug her from behind with my free arm and kiss her shoulder as I feel Dani start to play with her mommy's hair.
"We're gonna make this okay Tegan" I tell her.
She quickly turns around, tears in her eyes again "I don't want to move, Sara. I don't…this is where everything happened. All the good stuff. This is our home" she whispered, her eyes locking on mine.
I bit my bottom lip and kissed each of her cheeks "I know love. But right now, it's not a safe place. We'll figure something out. Maybe there's something our fairy and witch friends can do" I tell her.
She nods and hugs me, kissing Dani, then taking her from me. She gives our 6 month old a big hug and wipes away her own tears this time.
"Let's go fill your tummy" she whispers to Dani.
I smile weakly and take her hand as we walk upstairs.
Tegan's POV
I keep a tight grip on Dani as she plays with my hair. I squeeze Sara's hand in mine as we get to the kitchen. I ignore Kaki and Emy right now, focusing on my daughter's needs. I go right to the counter and start pulling out food to cook for dinner as I peel Dani a banana and hand it to her. She claps excitedly.
Nana!
I can't help but smile as I sit her on the counter and grab a pot, keeping a hand on her chest as she eats happily. Arms wrap around my waist, arms that aren't Sara's and I jump. I can faintly hear Sara growl in the background.
"Sorry. I didn't… I should have asked" Emy said as she looked back to Sara who seemed to back off "You just look so sad."
I settle down "It's okay Emy" I tell her "A little jumpy still. Can I umm…can I just have a few minutes alone with my kid?" I ask.
She nods and turns back to Sara and Kaki who were deep in conversation at the table. I look back down at Dani who's happy as a clam, gnawing on the banana, making a mess. She bounced back quickly. I take a deep breath and pick her up, not caring that she smears banana all over my shoulder. I bring her to her room and get her wrapped around me in the baby wrap. I made sure she was secure. I needed to feel her close right now. I kissed her head and walked back out to the kitchen, filling the pot with water and putting it on the stove as I started to wash peel potatoes.
"Taters with chicken and broccoli for dinner, Dani?" I ask.
She giggles.
Taters. Ticken! COCOLI!
I smile, kissing her and getting on another pot to steam the broccoli in. I let myself settle into the task.
Sara's Pov
I keep a keen eye on my partner as she mulls about.
"But how can we do that without changing the physical location?" Emy asked Kaki as they carried out the conversation.
"We use the Junji enchantment" Kaki counters "If we mix that with the ephoral blend we should be able to do it"
"What do you think Sara?" Emy asked.
I didn't really hear her. I was too focused on Tegan.
"Sara?" she asked.
"Sara" Kaki tried.
Tegan was peeling potatoes. It was her comfort food meal. I should make that sauce. All of a sudden, I feel a tug on my clit towards Kaki. I snap towards her.
"Hey!" I complain.
"Where'd you go?" she asked.
I looked back at Tegan, making them both sigh.
"Sara, we really need to work this out. I've got 10,000 teenaged boys and girls suspended in space right now" she said.
I nodded and turned my attention back to them "Does Tegan seem different to you?" I ask.
"Sara, this is important. We can discuss that later" Emy said.
"Like…just something about her is different, I can't put my foot on it" I continue
"Sara!" Kaki says, snapping her fingers in my face "Look at me, I'm serious. Tegan's okay. Dani's okay. We need to make sure it stays like that. We can listen to you moon over your wife later."
I nod and look at them. "Let's sit down" I tell them, going over and taking a seat on the couch.
Sighing I look to them "What did I miss?" I asked
"Well, we were talking about maybe shifting the paradigm of this dimension so that the event didn't happen. But Kaki brought up the fact that a shift like that could have serious consequences" Emy told me.
"So then Emy suggested changing the location of your house so it looks to others like it's across the street, but we can't really do that without changing the geography of the entire location and…" Kaki mentioned before I interrupted her.
"Let me guess, that would have serious consequences?" I ask.
She nodded.
"We've figured out that we can erase the memories of all those involved, but there's no way to know if there are more who saw the address and just didn't show up today" Emy said.
"SO why can't we just change the original message? Instead of it containing our address, send potential crazies to the city dump" I said.
"Shit Sara, that's a great idea" Emy said.
Kaki nodded and looked to me "You really are one smart motherfucker"
I just shrugged "If we can change shit like that, it's easy. Change the original message, Tegan and I will put out a press release tomorrow about our new label. Everyone will calm the fuck down, and no one will know where we live. I'd like some more precaution though. So we're more prepared if this ever happens again" I tell them.
"Like what?" Kaki asked.
"Whatever you did for us downstairs, do to the whole house: that invisible barrier thing. Something only people we want can pass through. Also, if there's any way to make this street invisible to everyone but the people we want, let's do that. Mailman, delivery people, police, artists, our friends and family all have access but others don't."
"I think I heard of an invitation only spell. All you'd have to do was think of the person who was allowed in and it would let the street be seen by them and allow them to enter" Emy told me.
I nodded "Let's do that. Because no one is touching my family again."
I look over at Tegan and Dani and feel a deep connection, a deep desire to keep them safe. It's primal. Something inside of me has shifted. I'm not sure whether it's the events of the day, or what but my mama bear's roaring. Kaki's staring at me.
"Sara.." she cautiously asks. "What's up?"
I look back at her "I'm just feeling particularly protective."
She nods "Okay. Well I think we're done here. I'm gonna head out."
I nod and stand up, hugging her "Thank you for your help."
"Anytime. I'm gonna start on our plan right away. Emy, care to join me?" she asked
Emy nodded "Lindsey's at work until late, so I'm free. Let's get this thing going. Bye Sara, I'm glad you're all okay"
Sara nodded "Guys, thank you so much. Sorry I've been a brat the past little bit"
"You're fine. This is a lot to deal with" Kaki said, rubbing my arm.
Her and Emy hugged me and I hugged them back, watching my wife rub the chicken in spices and put it in the oven.
I saw our friends out the door.
I walked over to Tegan and kissed her cheek, wrapping my arms around her waist.
"It smells amazing love" tell her, moving up to rub Dani's back as I stoop down to kiss her banana covered face.
"Thanks" Tegan whispers.
She's not usually like this with me. If something's up, she opens up once everyone's gone and we're alone. She's closed herself off. I don't like it. I feel locked out. I turn her around and look into her eyes.
"Tegan" I whisper softly, searching her face.
"Yeah?" she asks.
"What's going on?" I ask
"Nothing, I'm just still freaking out" she says.
I can tell she's telling the truth, but can't help feel like she's hiding something. I still feel like I'm banging on unwelcoming doors, not unlike the fans from earlier. Unlike them, I respect my wife's boundaries. As much as I want to be there and help her, and be let in, I can back off and give her space. I kiss her cheek.
"I know it's something else. But I'm gonna let you tell me on your terms. I'm gonna go clean up downstairs, give you some time alone" I tell her.
I see her eyes shift and her composure start to break.
"Please don't leave" she whispers, the tears slipping out.
I step back up to her and dry them with my thumbs.
"Honey, what's wrong?" I ask tenderly.
I see her bottom lip quiver and I kiss it, ignoring the banana that was getting slathered on my neck by sloppy baby hands.
I feel Tegan slump in my arms and start to break down. I'm careful to hold her up. Dani starts to catch on and whines, hugging her mommy's neck.
Mommy. No cwy.
Tegan holds her and I kiss each of their foreheads, guiding us all to the couch. Tegan leans into me and cries into my shoulder. I don't ask questions, just try to soothe her. I put my hand on her tummy and she flinches.
"Baby, are you hurt?" I ask, going to lift her shirt and check.
She shakes her head and pulls away again.
"Sara…" she cries through her tears.
"I'm right here love, I've got you" I reassure her.
We sit like this for a while, until Dani's asleep against her. She snuggles our daughter then looks to me. Tegan sits up, kisses me softly and looks me in the eye. There's something breaking her. Something so horrible, she can barely tell me. Her mouth opens like she's going to speak but no sound comes out.
"Take your time, Tegan. It's okay, you don't have to…" I whisper
"I'm pregnant."
