"Well hello there Danny! I'm Gilderoy Lockhart, and I'll be taking you to Diagon Alley!" The flamboyant man told the unaffected pre-teen.
"Grab on to my arm, we'll get there in a blink of an eye!" Lockhart said as he flamboyantly held out his arm. Danny grabbed his arm.
In a few seconds they flashed out of the room.
When it was over Danny was confused and more than a little off balance.
When he looked up he saw a somewhat shabby pub called The Leaky Cauldron.
Lockhart stood in front of the door, "Well are you coming?" He asked.
Danny quickly followed.
Lockhart waved to the bartender as they went to a back room.
Danny looked around, astounded by the pathway lined with buildings.
Lockhart looked at Danny, "I assume you have money?" He asked. Danny nodded, when he had explained to adoptive parents they had given him two hundred dollars for school supplies.
"Well then I'm off to a book signing, you just need to head straight down the street to Gringotts to exchange that for Galleons. Au revior, young Danny." He said, leaving Danny all alone.
Danny slowly wandered towards the other end of the Alley.
He gaped at all the buildings and their customers, some were wearing robes, some 'muggle' clothes, and he spotted one black haired kid in a suit.
He was brought to attention by a lady who was politely tapping his shoulder.
"Yes miss?" He asked.
The lady smiled, "I'm terribly sorry young man, my daughter noticed you looked slightly lost, so I wondered if you would like some help." She said with a British accent while gesturing towards a young girl with brown hair.
Danny nodded, he was quite lost and they seemed nice enough.
"Thank you, if you don't mind of course."
The two females gave kind grins, "No trouble at all, I'm Carson Merkava, and this is my daughter Eron Merkava." Eron gave Danny a small smile.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Danny Fenton."
"Well Danny, we're heading to Gringotts, care to join us?"
"Yes please."
"So you mean he just left you?" Eron asked, she had a slight accent but it wasn't British like her mother's.
"Oh poor dear, you're welcome to join us." Mrs. Mekava told Danny. He had explained how Lockhart had just told him to go down the street.
Danny grinned at them, "Thanks."
Their first stop was Flourish and Botts, a bookshop that had some irregular books for sale, and the shop Eron had trouble leaving.
The next stop was for robes, where Eron and Danny got to talk.
"So Danny, do you know wvhat thde houses in Hogwvarts are?" She asked.
Danny shook his head, but showed he was interested.
"Wvell then, in Hogwvarts thdere are four 'houses' thdey're more or less just groups of people who have similar traits. Thdere is Slytherin, thdey're often very cunning and ambitious, not thdat's alwvay's a bad thing. Thden thdere's Hufflepuff, wvho are quite loyal and like peace. Also Gryffindor, wvho are often really brave. And finally Ravenclawv, wvho are clever and smart." She explained.
"Which one are you in?"
"Ravenclawv."
"Which do you think I'll be in?"
"From wvhat I know of you, probably Gryffindor or Hufflepuff."
A woman walked to them holding some black robes, "Well you're all done dearies, have a nice day."
They thanked her and headed to get the rest of their stuff.
Eron and Danny were in Ollivander's, Carson had ran off to get a surprise for the two.
"Excuse me, , sir! I have a friend wvho wvould like to see you!" Eron said to get the attention of the man in the back.
"Ah Miss Merkava, how nice to see you. Walnut and Thestral mane, one of the odder wands I have sold." The man said as he walked to the front.
"Thdank you sir?"
"And you must be Danny Fenton, I have been wondering when you'd appear." Danny wondered what that meant.
"Shall we get started? Hold out your wand hand." Ollivander told Danny
Eron leaned over to him, "He means thde one you wvrite wvith."
Danny nodded and held out his right hand.
Mr. Ollivander started muttering to himself as he went to the shelves and started pulling out boxes.
He walked back, "Rowan and Dragon Heartstring." He said handing it to Danny.
Danny gave it a flick, not knowing what to do. He jumped when the glass cover of a picture shattered.
The wand was snatched from his grip by Mr. Ollivander
"Try this one, Spruce and Phoenix Feather, quite sturdy too."
This time when Danny waved it a pen started flying through the air.
"No, no, not this one. . ." The old man said as he took the wand from Danny.
Several accidents and wands later, Eron had started just handing Danny a new wand every time while Ollivander explained what they were.
"Last one in thde pile." She said as she gave Danny the wand.
"It appears young Fenton is almost as hard a customer as you were Miss Merkava." Ollivander told the blushing girl.
When Ollivander saw the wand he looked thoughtful, "Hmmm, Yew and Unicorn hair.. . ."
The air chilled and a light green glow came from the wand when Danny waved the wand.
Eron smiled, "You found it!" She cheered.
"That's an odd wand, take good care of it." Ollivander told Danny as the two walked out.
"There you two are! I have a surprise for you two." told the two when she spotted them.
She handed Eron a thick book titled Erweiterte Alchemie, to Danny she handed a small carrier.
Danny peaked inside to see a black rat sleeping on a small pillow
"There's no need to do this , I should be getting you something for helping me today." He told the kind woman.
"But you helped me and Eron so much, you deserve it." Danny blushed and figured it was better just to accept the rat.
Eron looked at the rat. "It looks like a shadow, you should name it Kage!" She told Danny.
"What does that mean?"
Eron and Carson laughed a bit before Carson answered Danny, "It means shadow, dear."
Danny looked at the time and gasped, it was almost time for the lunch.
"I'm sorry, but I have to go." He told the two.
"See you in Hogwvarts Danny!" Eron waved as he ran off.
After an awkward conversation with his brother Percy, Danny noticed a group of three standing behind them. One of them was the kid he had seen in a suit earlier on.
The suited boy smirked slightly.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Artemis Fowl the Second."
A/N: If someone can guess what Erweiterte Alchemie means, you get a cookie. Again thanks! Please drop me a review and vote on my poll! Oh, and Eron's accent is supposed to be read a slight accent(There but not thick).
Response to guest reviews:
Matt: Here you are! Sorry for that, I forgot to put it up.
sdf: Thank you so much!
This folks is where I have to get a bit nasty, sorry.
A Visionary: *Hrumphs* First of all, you only read the first chapter (which is one of my worst chapters), how would you know if this had an original plot or not? Second, I fail to see where this is 'constructive criticism' is, I see no words of what you liked about this, only words of hate. And I 'apologize' that I did not live up to your 'standards', but I am a young writer and no prodigy.
Also stop thinking you're doing good and stop being a jerk.
Would like to know where you got your defintion of constructive criticism,
A middle teens writer.
