Alphonse hovered nervously over Edward; he didn't like the idea of his brother not being right by his side.

"But Brother, we don't know anything about the place. How could the Füher make you go‽" Alphonse asked.

"Alphonse calm down. This may help us get your body back;" Edward said, though he was just as upset.

They walked through the muted city the rain had been threatening to fall for days, and it was making Edward's automail ports ache.

"Brother, the letter said you could bring a cat. Maybe since you won't be traveling much you could get one?" Alphonse asked hopefully, he also gave the best puppy dog eyes a suit of armor could make.

Ed's eye twitched, must not give in, he thought.

Finally Ed gave in, he slumped over in defeat.

Al squeezed him tight, repeatedly saying "thank you!"

"Al, cut it out, you're crushing me!" Ed could feel his rib cage being crushed.

"Sorry Brother."

Ed gave Al a glare then started walking towards HQ, Al was skittering around to catch up.

"Ah, Fullmetal, there you are. You're late," Colonel Roy Mustang teased.

"Cut the crap, Colonel Bastard. Just tell me where to go." Mustang frowned and pointed down the hall.

"Now before you go Fullmetal, this counts as research so use your funding for this," Mustang informed Ed, but he wasn't sure if he heard him because Ed was already walking down the hall.

When Ed reached the door Mustang pointed out he could hear the Füher and someone else talking.

"Füher Bradley? It's Edward Elric," he said awkwardly, he wasn't used to being so polite.

He opened the the door, the other voice he heard belonged to a somewhat elderly woman in robes.

"I assume you're Mr. Elric," the woman said, "I'm Professor McGonagall."

"Nice to meet you." He shook hands with the professor.

"Are you ready to leave?"

Ed was about to nod, but Bradley interrupted him.

"Before you, take this." He handed Ed a pouch of coins and another melon.

Ed sweatdropped, why did the Füher keep giving him melons?

McGonagall pulled out a rusty pocket watch.

"We have to go Mr. Elric. Please hang on to this," she said, offering the watch in her hand.

As soon as he touched it he felt a tugging sensation, it confused Ed immensely.

When the feeling subsided Ed noticed he wasn't in the office anymore, instead he was in a somewhat small room with a bed and dresser.

He looked at the professor who just signaled him to follow.

They walk out of the room and down the stair at the end of the hall and into a slightly rundown pub.

McGonagall nodded to the bartender, who waved back.

Finally they reached a brick wall in a back room.

McGonagall pulled out her wand and tapped a certain brick.

As soon as she did, the bricks started rearranging to form an entryway.

Through the arch Ed could see a could see hustling storefronts.

"This way," the professor told him.

They weaved their way through the crowd, trying to get to the other end.

Ed could see the large building they were heading towards in large letters the front read, Gringotts.

"Professor, wvhat wvill wve be doing thdere?" he asked.

She explained that the building was a bank and that he would be exchanging currency there.

They continued to walk, McGonagall explained her world to him.

"First, we'll get your required things first, then we can move onto other things. First your wand," McGonagall planned.

They had reached a store with peeling gold lettering that spelled Ollivander's.

Ed wandered in, McGonagall stayed outside.

A man popped up from behind the counter, causing Ed to jump.

"Hello, you are?" the man, who Ed figured to be Mr. Ollivander, said.

"Edwvard Elric." Ed cautiously approached the counter.

"Elric. . .You wouldn't happen to be related to Trisha Elric, would you?"

"I'm her son." Ollivander's eyes widened.

"May I ask who your father is?"

Ed gritted his teeth, he didn't like to talk about his biological father.

"Hohenheim of Light." He finally got out.

Ollivander wondered to the back of the store and grabbed an a box with ornate writing one it.

He handed it to Edward, who opened it.

Inside was a wand made of two different woods.

"This wand was given to me by your father, Mr. Elric. It has a Blue Spruce handle and Dogwood body. It's core is a chimera scale."

Ed froze, the bastard knew of this world? On top of that he gave this man a wand with a chimera scale in it?

"Give it a wave," Ollivander told him.

Ed lifted it out of the box, feeling it's smooth handle.

He flicked it slightly, it sent out red and black sparks, alchemical light arcing between them.

Ollivander smiled.

"Consider this a gift since it's your father's," he said.

After an odd encounter with a family of six, two of the boys gave Ed an odd feeling. A pleasant experience at the book shop, Flourish and Blotts had one copy of Advanced Alchemy, or Erweiterte Alchemie left. And getting fitted for a dress, well that's what it was in Ed's mind, in actuality they were robes, it came time for them to leave. This time the object for the portkey, the name of which McGonagall had forgotten to tell him until he had asked, was an old key.

"I'll pick you up on the first."

After an exhausting evening of writing a report for the Füher and a few other things, such as arguing with Mustang, Ed was ready to collapse on the bad in his room in the barracks.

As soon as he opened the door he was scooped up into a hug by Alphonse.

"Did you get one Brother‽" he asked.

Ed pointed at a carrier in the doorway.

Al rushed over and opened the crate; it released an orange cat that curled around his armored leg.

"He's so cute! Did you name him?"

Ed shrugged. "I guess. I just started calling him Neon."

Al glared, the best he could, at Ed.

"Neon, really?"

"It was the only thing I could think of."
