The Promise kept

Kiera's P.O.V.:

I was comforting my father Aslan as he prepared for what would be his final night. It's so hard to say goodbye I can't bear it. "Dad, was this the promise you made to the Wizard? Well, Hawk," I asked. "Yes my dear one," he replied. I wondered if everything will be okay but it still broke me more than I can. "I will miss you so my little lioness, protect the kings and queen as the battle approaches," he asked me. "I will dad," I replied. "I love you so much my lioness," he said. "I love you to," I replied wrapping my arms around his warm mane and cried my tears until I had no more then I let go of my dad as he left. I ran to my tent and I cried. I wonder how Lauren is doing.

Lauren's P.O.V.:

I was having a hard time sleeping. I tried everything from counting sheep, listening to the breeze nothing worked. Soon I heard a conversation and silent tears who was that crying. Then I saw a silhouette of a lion across the tent I knew it was Aslan. "James, Logan. Wake up," I whispered to them. "What is it Lauren? Were trying to sleep," James mumbled trying to sleep. "It's Aslan, he's leaving," I answered. "Leaving," Logan and James asked sitting up. "Yes, come on," I said grabbing my wool red cloak and gifts along with my shoes as I walked. James and Logan did the same as we tiptoed past Kendall and Carlos on the way out of the tent. After getting our gear on, we saw Aslan going up the cliff near the tent. "What is he doing," Logan asked. "More like where is he going? He should be here," James mused. "I don't know," I whispered looking on. We looked at each other and soon followed at a distance going up the cliff silently. We felt farther away from camp as we looked back to see the camp small like a dot as we came to some trees. Aslan was near but didn't stop walking as we followed behind yet I stepped on a tree branch and it cracked. "Shouldn't you three be in bed," he asked us. Were busted. "Sorry Aslan but we couldn't sleep and started to feel concerned for you," I replied. "I had a feeling that would be the case dear ones," he told us.

James's P.O.V.:

"Aslan, if you don't mind can we walk with you please," I asked. "I would be glad if you three will join me for a little bit. But only when I tell you. Thank you," he replied to us. Lauren, Logan, and I put our hands to his mane in order to comfort him, Aslan twitched his ear. I just couldn't understand it. What is going on? "Aslan, are you sure your okay," Lauren asked. "I am just sad my dear, no need to worry over me," he replied. Lauren was confused but continue to stroke his mane like I did as we came to an open clearing. "It is time my children. From here I must go on alone," he said to us. "But Aslan are you sur-," I started to say but I was interrupted. "You three have to trust me on this, for this must be done," he told us. "We will Aslan. We promise," Lauren told him. "I know you will. Thank you James. Thank you Logan. Thank you Lauren. And farewell," he told us. Then he turned towards where he was supposed to go and continued to walk. "What did he mean by farewell," I asked the others. "I don't know James. Whatever he said has to be done, needs to," Logan answered placing a hand on Lauren's shoulder. I was still left with a bewildered look on my face and confused at the same time. "I can't see what's going on," Lauren told us looking over the clearing. I looked to see a tree lying on the ground. "Hey guys, follow me," I told them as we went to the bush and knelt in the ground.

"James, I don't know what's going on but I see smoke," Logan told him seeing torches and smoke cover the night sky with a dark glow. "Wait, there's Aslan ," Lauren said seeing him approach the steps to something. " Hold on, smoke, torches, Aslan is this the place," I asked.

Lauren's P.O.V.:

"Where a sacrifice must be done and took place all those years ago," Logan realized. "It couldn't be," James gasped. "This is," I said knowing in the end. "The Stone Table," we whispered looking forward to see Aslan approach among the haunting call of a creature announcing his arrival.

The Wizard's/ Hawk's P.O.V.:

Ah. Tonight is the night! Oh boy I am so excited to end this once and for all because as a song says, "There's change coming once and for all," I am telling I love that song. Wait. What musical was that from? Oh never mind. I better prepare myself. He is coming. Time to end this war.

Third Person's P.O.V.:

A creature's scream rang through the area as if people could hear it from across the land. Torches lit just gave you the chills. Lauren, James, and Logan looked with suspicion but reasoned as well on what was to happen tonight. Creatures that belonged to the Wizard parted paths for Aslan as a way to mock him. The three were confused as he continued to walk up the steps. Soon, the Wizard/ Hawk walked onto the Stone Table dressed in midnight blue and a rooster cloak around him. Holding in his hands was a knife but not just any knife. It was the stone knife that killed Aslan all those years ago during the time of the Pevensies. "Behold my friends. The Great Lion our foe," he declared solemnly. The creatures soon laughed then jeered. The three friends looked on with worry hoping something miraculous would happen; but it would never come no matter how hard they wished. Otmin, the Wizard's highest general went over to Aslan and poked him. He growled which caused the creatures to laugh. Soon Otmin looked to his master for the signal. He gave it.

Then with all his might and a turn of his axe pushed him down to the ground and the creatures cheered. Lauren gasped as her eyes flew open like pancakes. "Here kitty, kitty. You want some milk. Fight us you great cat," Ginnabrick taunted. "He isn't fighting back. We should help," Lauren said ready to draw her dagger and protect him. "We can't Lauren," Logan whispered. "Why," she stressed. "He's doing this for Carlos like he did for Edmund," James realized watching the ordeal. The two gasped knowing James was right. "Bind him," the Wizard commanded. The creatures did that right away binding his feet, body, and mouth with really tough cords. "Stop a second," The wizard said. The creatures stopped the tying of the ropes "Let our guest be shaved," he commanded. Ginnabrick took that order right away when he pulled out his dagger and began to cut Aslan's mane. Everyone cheered and dove in helping out in cutting his mane. Aslan couldn't do anything about it but just moan in pain as the creatures continued to shave him, kick him, beat him, spat on him and taunt. Lauren, James, and Logan looked on; but they turned their heads when they saw something awful.

"Bring him to me," the Wizard commanded. The slaves, and creatures did the order by pushing him with the ropes tied to him. A wolf howled and the crowd became excited knowing this would happen soon. All of them wanted to see a sacrifice repeat its self but this time end with their victory. You could almost hear dark magic chants being said but the Wizard raised his left hand for silence and everyone went silent. Absolutely silent. James had tears streaming down his face as he watched what was happening. Logan looked scared as he saw this and Lauren looked like she was ready to cry but Logan held onto her. Torches began to bang on the stone ground and crowd became loud again slowly. Many of the winged creatures perched on the areas around the table watched with glee and wolves howled into the night sky. The Wizard bent down and stroke Aslan but he twitched as he breathed in the midst of the pain. "You know Aslan, I'm honestly disappointed in you. I thought it would never come to this again," The Wizard said. Why, why are you in disappointed in me, Aslan thought looking into the crowd. "Do you honestly think by doing this again, you save the descendant of the traitor," he asked. He had nothing to do with you. You tempted him to betray me but he did not or his people. I'm doing it for all, Aslan shot back in his mind. "Please like I care. Besides, we know it's my time anyway," he scoffed.

Lauren, James and Logan looked at each other knowing they were right on the promise Aslan made to the Wizard. To repeat the sacrifice those years ago, in order to save him. "You're giving me your life again for his and saving no one? Ha. Talk about weak my friend. Guess all I have to say is so much for love," he smirked giving a little kick and hitting him. Soon he rose and cried out, "Tonight my people, the Deep Magic will be appeased once again! But tomorrow, we will take Los Angeles and Narnia and hold on to it forever," The crowd cheered as the banging of the torches became louder and faster like a slow clap going to fast clap. Aslan was breathing so fast it was hard to deal with it.

Lauren's P.O.V.:

We were looking straight into Aslan's eyes and I knew it would happen in a matter of seconds. "So, in that knowledge, despair," the Wizard said raising the knife above Aslan as he looked at us still breathing. We were nervous and scared knowing this moment was his last. "And DIE," the Wizard cried as he plunged the knife into Aslan who yelped with his eyes open wide. "No," I gasped and so did the others as we watched it happen. Soon, Aslan's eyes closed forever and he bowed his head to the side. Aslan died. He's gone. Tears came right into my eyes as I cried into Logan's shoulder who joined me in the sobs as James comforted us while also crying.

The Wizard's P.O.V.:

I did it! I've actually done it. He is finally out of my way. "OUR GREAT FOE IS DEAD," I exclaimed and the people cheered for it as I knew what tomorrow would bring. "General, prepare the troops for battle," I commanded Otmin. As Otmin roared I mumbled, "However short it may be. Ginnabrick take the remains of his fur. I want to look my best for battle. Now with that said and done, let us celebrate and prepare for our conquest tomorrow. We shall be victorious," I exclaimed as the slaves carried my litter and I sat in it as they carried me back to camp and time to rejoice.

James's P.O.V.:

I was so upset now after watching that tragic sacrifice. After the Wizard's army left the Stone Table without him noticing us thank God , Lauren, Logan and myself walked up the steps to the Stone Table and saw Aslan's cold lifeless body on that table. Lauren quickly went to right stairs of the table and climbed up then sat down as she felt the remains of his mane and his muzzle. She tried to get her cordial out to heal him but I told her, "It's too late Lauren. He's gone. I'm sorry," She was so sad. Logan joined her on the table as I walked over to the two and joined them. "He must have known what he was doing for Carlos," I added. Lauren felt his mane and so did Logan. "It's so hard," he admitted. "I know oh Aslan," Lauren cried as she felt him and cried into his mane. Logan and I were so upset that we too started to turn on the water works nestling ourselves in the remains of his golden mane. All of a sudden, we heard a cracking sound. "What was that," I asked through my tears and turned to see mice around the cords chewing them one by one. "Hey, get away, get away all of you shoo," I was saying to them as I tried to shoo them away. "No James," Logan told me. "Why," I asked. "Look," Lauren told me. "They're chewing away the ropes," I realized. We gently took off the ropes after hearing them snap around his muzzle. They fell to the ground and Lauren stroke his face that was so tender from the ropes. "Guys we have to warn the others," I said. "James we can't just leave him here. He needs company," Lauren said defensively. "Lauren, there's no time. Kendall, Carlos and Keira need to know," I replied. Then she and Logan said together, "The trees. They'll send the message"

Third Person's P.O.V.:

The trees began to blow their wind across the plain as swayed the petals from the tree where Lauren and Logan met a dryad plucked off and flowed with such grace into Aslan's camp.

Kendall's P.O.V.:

Carlos and I were fast asleep dreaming awesome things when I felt something smooth on my cheek. I woke up and saw petals form the shape of a woman. I grabbed my sword and pulled it out which caused to Carlos to wake up as well. What is going on? "Who goes there," I asked. "Be still my Princes," she told us. "I bring grave news upon your friends," she added. I sat up. "What is it? What happened," I asked again. "Aslan was killed by the wizard in Carlos's place. Your friends are mourning for him," she told me. "What," I asked and Carlos did to. "He did this for your friend to repeat the same thing he did for King Edmund years ago. Now prepare yourselves quickly, the Wizard intends to attack tomorrow. Prepare for battle my princes. Your time has come," she said to us and soon left. I looked at Carlos who left to check in on Keira. I followed going to the main tent of Aslan.

(Daybreak)

The sun was rising over camp as I checked out Aslan's tent to see if it was true. People were slowly waking up suddenly feeling a chill in the air instead of the warmth one would expect. Carlos, Oreius, and Keira were setting up a battle plan. I emerged from the tent a little puffy eyed from the crying I did after realizing the truth. "She's right guys. He's gone. So are Logan, Lauren, and James," I told Carlos, Kiera, and Oreius. "Then you will have to lead us Kendall," Carlos said. "I know Carlos but I can't," I told him scared. "Why, there's an army waiting out there for you buddy? Waiting for their descendant of the High King to rise. You were born for this," he added. "But I'm scared. I led a hockey team not an army. I don't know where to begin" I told Carlos. "Well, Aslan helped train you to lead this army as High King and he believed you could lead it like a hockey team and guess what," Carlos said to me. "What," I asked. "So do I. I believe in you Kendall. You can do this," Carlos told me. "Me too. You have to trust and believe in yourself Kendall. The time has come," Keira agreed. I looked at my friends and smiled as they smiled back at me. "The Wizard's army is nearing sire. I ask you what are your orders," Orieus asked me. I knew this would be at all costs to fulfill this prophecy. "Deploy the troops and have everyone ready. Were going to battle," I commanded. "As you wish Your Majesty," he bowed then left. "Keira, Carlos I have an idea for a battle plan," I told them gathering around the map. This is it. It's time to head into battle.
