Chapter 43
Remus
It was half way through June. It was too close to the end of seventh year. Too close to us leaving Hogwarts for good. It was sad thinking about leaving Hogwarts. I mean, Hogwarts was where I had met my friends and actually felt like a normal kid – and by that I mean someone that didn't turn into a werewolf three times a month. But then again, leaving Hogwarts meant that I would be living with Sirius. So...there was a plus side to it all. Not to mention I would never ever have to see most of the people here again.
"Hey, what you thinking about?" Sirius asked me, as we sat in the common room, poking my arm.
"Nothing." I replied, smiling, poking him back.
"Liar."
"Nosy."
"Liar."
"Annoying child."
"Meany."
"Softy."
"Pokey."
"Daft mutt."
"Stupid cub."
"Loveable idiot."
"Adorable smarty pants."
"I am not adorable."
"Oh, but you are. You are just so adorably cute."
"No. No I'm not."
"Yes you are."
I turned to face Sirius properly, glaring at him a little. He just had the normal smirk on his face, thinking he was going to win this one. Not if I could help it. I poked Sirius in the side, and he recoiled. That had never happened before. I poked him again, this time watching him very carefully. He recoiled again, but I saw he had gone red and was trying not to laugh.
"Sirius, are you ticklish?" I asked, amused.
"No!" Sirius replied, very quickly.
Smirking to myself, I slid closer to him, making him move further away. I tried to look as innocent as I could, something I had gotten very good at, but it didn't fool him. After a few seconds, though, Sirius hit the arm of the sofa and he had nowhere else to go. I just gave him a wolfish grin.
"Rem, don't you dare." Sirius told me.
"Oh, you dare me?" I asked, grin widening. "You dare me, do you?"
"No, that's not what I..."
I cut him off by tickling him. It proved to be very effective. Not to mention, highly entertaining for me. It turned out Sirius was extremely ticklish. You didn't have to do much and he was in hysterics. I was having a whale of a time. Anyway, he should be happy that there was no one around to see him like this. I mean, the common room emptied when we were having the, what I was now calling, 'name war'.
I got bored after a while. But not for a good fifteen minutes. Sirius just pouted in the corner of the sofa, ignoring me, hugging a pillow. At least it gave me some time to read in peace. We had been sitting there for ten minutes, at least, when James and Lily strolled in, tough.
"Hey, Moony, Pads." James grinned, flopping down in one of the arm chairs dragging Lily down with him.
"Hey." I replied, closing my book.
Sirius just grunted. It just made me laugh.
"What's up with grumpy?" Lily asked, gesturing at Sirius.
"Well, you see..." I started.
"No!" Sirius yelped
"Oh, so you're talking to me again then?"
"If it means you don't tell them, then yes."
"Well tough."
"But..."
"No."
I turned back to James and Lily.
"Basically, I found out today that Sirius is very ticklish." I told them, grinning.
"Oh, he is, is he?" James chuckled.
I nodded. Sirius just groaned, trying to sink further into the sofa.
"I hate you." Sirius muttered.
"Oh, you don't mean that." I laughed, leaning against him. "You love me."
Sirius glanced at me. I put on my best imitation of the puppy dog look and he started to smile. He let go of the pillow, moving his arm, making me fall sideways onto him. My head hit the pillow, which was now on his lap. This was what it was going to be like every day after we left Hogwarts. And I couldn't wait.
