A ringing of a bell echoed in the room. Was it a bell? It had a tune to it… like a bird. "Wake up!" a voice shouted.
Antonio darted upwards, in a panic, "What the hell?" he asked while looking around. In front of him, he only saw a yellow, fluffy bird which seemed to be wearing a tiny black cross. "Aw… You are so cute." he smiled and picked up the small creature.
Starting to pet the bird, it suddenly said, "Don't you even try and pet myself." the bird said in a German accent. Antonio panicked and threw the bird, backing to the bed wall. The birds flapped his wings, "Und there is no reason to throw me in the air."
"Y-You can… talk!?" Antonio startled, still shocked.
"Of course I can." Giving a cough, he had forgotten to properly introduce himself, "Allow me to explain who I am for your small inconvenience. - I'm Ludwig, Gilbert's past brother and familiar. You may not ask about my title and not make fun of my name." Antonio sat up and stared at the creature for a while.
"Sure then… you can sit on my bed while I find my school uniform." He placed Ludwig on the bed and found his uniform on a large chest. It was a white, buttoned shirt, black pants, shoes and blazer. Plus, on what was standing out, a green tie.
It was weird to him that humans had uniform wear in school. It was usually causal, wear what you like. Spells and broom flying and at the end of the day - anything you want really. There was rules and tolerance too but it was laid back. And the fact he wasn't used to formal wear so he had a problem tying a tie.
Francis waked in his room, giggling a little as he saw Antonio so frustrated, "Do you need some help with that then?" the other nodded and he helped him fixed the tie, "I think this whole schooling thing will be weird. In a place when we can't use magic - how disappointing…"
"Hey, hey, come on. That's not the Franny I know. Maybe soon for practice but you know them; getting so hyped for anything that's not of their ordinary method or lifestyle." Antonio chuckled as he placed his shoes on (apparently, boots weren't allowed which was another shame.)
"Maybe so…" he had finished tying the other's tie and the two went to the dinner room/lounge. On the coffee table was their school bags, filled with stationary and such. Gilbert was on the stove, cooking what seemed to be breakfast, placing the cooked eggs on toast. There was also two glasses of juice on the dining table in which they sat around. The plates were placed for each one and the two started to eat.
"Better eat up, this is the first day. Just be careful around the humans though…" Gilbert had picked up a small book from his coat pocket and started to read it out, "The rules: no magic, no fighting, if you do then no magic, no flying with anything in sight of a human and definitely no love spells."
They were half listening but once they finished, Antonio took a drink of the juice and wiped his mouth, "So what you're saying - no fun whatsoever because there are certain 'rules' in this world? Is that what you're saying?"
"Well not really… Look, this place is strict and what they do is, um… Unusual." Breaking the ice, he grabbed their bags and their Heart Catchers from a nearby chair, giving it to both, "Here are your bags with your stuff. You need it. I'll have to go with you to the school in case Antonio ends up in shenanigans."
The other mimicked him, walking to the door. Francis chuckled under his breath, grabbing half a piece of toast and chewing it down. The lengthy stairs to outside will take ages so their apartment's door automatically enters you to a lift.
They entered the lift and started to go down. Antonio had rummaged to his bag and placed the same gem covered book from yesterday inside. He found it on top of his drawer; he knew it wasn't there when he arrived. He cautiously closed his bag, wondering why it glowed a little.
Gilbert was riding on a black motorcycle, going around the roads with Antonio and Francis sitting on the back, clinging to each other for dear life. They saw streets of traditional housing, a indigo shopping centre, a large bridge that had a wide lake underneath and the train station where Francis saw students with the same school uniform as them.
"Are they from our school as well?" he asked, pointing to some students. Gilbert just nodded.
After a few more minutes of riding, they've reached the school gates. It was high and was painted a dull silver. Behind the gates were the school buildings themselves which were more appealing. Huge, modern cube buildings with so many clear windows that you could see everything that was happening. Gilbert got out first and helped the two get off. They walked inside with people looking at them like they were a new exhibition. Walking a bit more faster, they reached the staff room where he left them there to settle in.
9:00am. The school bell rings to tart the new day. Everyone was in their own classrooms, taking the resigister, reading out school bulitins and etc. Class 7-2 were doing some homework that they needed to finish up. While that was happening, the door opened with Mr. Lieu and Francis and Antonio in front of him.
The entire class stood up and bowed, "Good morning Principal Lieu." and sat back down.
"Good morning Class 7-2." he made his was to the front of the class. "I would like you to meet your new classmates; Antonio Fernandez Carriedo and Francis Bonnefoy. They've just transfered here to Escola da Esperanza so I do wish you'll make them feel welcome here. We are a very diverse school who strives to always be the best."
The two moved a little closer. A young teacher with fair hair smiled at them, "I've been waiting for you two to arrive~ I'm Mrs. Hirase your homeroom teacher. I also teach most of your subjects here. Now, you two can sit in the 2nd row from the top, next to Abel and Laura. I'll give you your books in a few minutes."
Francis was the first to walk up while Antonio quickly walked up and sat next to Laura. She had copper blonde hair that was in a puffy bob, with a cute red headband. "Hello there~ I'm Laura Govert and this is my brother Abel. You're Antonio, yes?"
He held her hand close to his chest, "A pleasure to meet you chica~" he felt the glare of her brother, letting go "a-and your brother as well."
Francis chuckled, tugging to Antonio's shirt and whispering "Psst try to use your Peek-A-Boo glasses. I think some of the girls are into us."
Antonio nodded and pretended to make glasses with his hands. He could see yellow and orange heart-shaped gems. He got out his Heart Catcher and raised it up high, yelling "Hearts Unlock!"
All the girls looked up at him and the catcher emitted a bright light, "Give your hearts to me~!" he winked and all the hearts went to the catcher. He sat back down, shutting it and the girls just blinked. Everyone forgot what happened and continued their conversations. The two wtiches secretly high fived.
A few minutes in and it was Science class. Everyone was writing diligently on their workbooks. A tall, blond man entered their class and talked to Mrs. Hirase. Francis couldn't help notice his really thick eyebrows.
He leaned towards Laura and whispered, "Hey Laura, who's that lanky guy with the caterpillar brows?"
She looked up and stopped writing. She also whispered, "That guy; he's Arthur Kirkland. Vice president of the school council but to be honest, he's more of the president of it. A lot of girls fancy him, so many chocolates wasted... I saw him once throw a few away and yet girls love him like they love kittens in a cup. But I don't like him. I don't know how he does it but I think that-"
"Guys please! Space!" Antonio whispered, pushing the two away from him. "I can feel your breaths on my neck, I don't like that."
They sighed and went back to work. Just as Arthur was leaving the room, Antonio glanced up to look at him. He looked back as well. Why was his glare so... cold? It felt unnerving and weird. Once leaving, he wondered what other things he could do.
I apologise for leaving this fanfic in the dust but don't worry, Chapter 3 is already being written. I just hope that that wouldn't take longer.
