A/N: Hey everyone. Sorry for the wait, life's busy as usual. SHORT little filler here, sorry. Thanks for sticking with me, I'll try to make it worth your while. As far as updating my other stories, it looked like you guys liked Change of Heart and Sarah vs. the Millionaire the best. So now it's between those two i suppose, a little elimination round if you will. Go ahead and review (under the story of your choice) and I will tally up and get to work, friends.

You may want to change your spacing, apparently Copy-N-Paste crams everything...sorry.

Chapter Seventeen:

Days had passed since Sarah's last encounter with Chuck in the safehouse. It was almost as if the fates were working against them, keeping them apart. Sarah was no longer the designated agent listening to and monitoring Chuck's infiltration of Fulcrum. Sarah's father deemed it a waste of time, and bestowed the "burden" to an analyst.
Sarah was now freed up to do other missions she was assigned, taking the entire team with her. Day after day, night after night, the team had been working tirelessly. These weren't the types of missions she enjoyed, no, they were chalk full of gun fights, knife stand offs, and late nights.
She missed Chuck so much that she could swear she felt a little numb. She hadn't seen him or heard his voice in more than two weeks. There was absolutely nothing to report from his end regarding the virus, and frankly, she didn't like the fact that he was spending so much time with his ex. She knew Chuck wouldn't ever betray her, it wasn't like that. She simply couldn't stand, or trust, Jill Roberts.
Sarah shook her head, snapping back to reality. She had trouble taking her mind off Chuck these days. She stepped into her apartment, dropping her bag on her chair as she fell back onto her bed, mentally exhausted.
Just then, she heard a knock on her door. Raising a brow, she rose, running a hand through her hair tiredly as she checked the peephole. Shaw?
She opened the door, taking a breath. "Hey Shaw...what's up?" she asked, leaning against the door way.
"Please, it's Daniel. Life's not all work, you know." Shaw spoke smoothly, almost rehearsed. Sarah fought the urge to shut the door.
"Okay...Daniel..." she took a minute to notice he was wearing jeans and a formal black jacket. He'd changed from his mission clothes already? Sarah glanced down, still in black tight pants and a black tank top. "What did you need?"
"Sarah..." he began, testing to see if she'd let him. Sarah bit her tongue, not wanting to start anything. "You must be bored, now that 'Carmichael' is out of the picture?" he asked, a sort of flirtatious vibe starting up.
Sarah mentally kicked herself for opening the door. She decided to play along.
"Oh...It gets really lonely, Daniel." she started suggestively.
"I could help that, and no one has to know..." Shaw began, making a step towards her.
"I don't know...Chuck's very...impressive."
Her tone was literally killing him. "Oh yeah, I doubt-"
The two were interrupted by footsteps, they glanced up and saw a young man, who looked no older than a college freshman, jog up.
Sarah tensed, but remained calm.
"Ms. Sarah Walker?" The man asked, practically shoving Shaw aside. He looked nervous to be in the presence of such a beautiful woman.
"Yes?" She smiled, amused.
"These are for you." he held up an elegant boquet of six roses, with a little note attached. "He told me to tell you that everything you need to know is in the card..." the man smiled. "Is that all, Ms. Walker? I have to run..."
Sarah's heart was fluttering as she accepted the roses. "Oh, thank you...let me just ti-"
"Not necessary, he took care of everything in advance." the kid eyed Shaw up and down once. "Have a nice evening."
Sarah couldn't fight the grin that broke out on her face.
"Unbelievable." Shaw grunted as Sarah shut the door, still smiling as she sat back in her bed, dying to open the card.
It read:

Sarah,
I hope the evening finds you well, and I hope our team isn't driving you nuts quite yet. We've only been apart for two weeks, and it feels like two lifetimes. I know these aren't gardenias- I haven't forgotten your favorites, but I thought these might be fitting, as it is our six month today. I'm sorry I couldn't be there, but I know we'll be seeing each other soon.
I love you.

Sarah closed her eyes for a minute, imagining Chuck's warm voice, she smiled. "I can't believe it slipped my mind...six months..."

"And that's why we don't mix things." Jill couldn't help but laughing at Chuck's most recent screw up. She loved having him at work every day. Zarnow was under the impression that he was some sort of chemistry god, so they were free to work in peace.
"What, don't tell me you've never tried to make flubber?" Chuck feigned astonishment.
"Pathogens take priority, I'm afraid." Jill replied, sighing.
Chuck straighten up, glancing into her eyes. "So...why?"
Jill leaned back against the counter, looking down. "Why what?" Although she knew what he was asking.
"Why do it? Why hurt thousands...millions of people when you control the outcome?" Chuck tried, pressing her gently.
"That's it..." Jill shook her head. "I never thought I'd be doing this...I was young, Chuck. I wanted to make a difference!"
Chuck took extra precaution to turn off his comm link for that particular conversation. If it was Sarah listening, he would've left it on. A random analyst didn't need to know about anything else.
"And now you're stuck here..." he tried.
"Yes." She replied, glancing down. "I want what you have, Chuck."
"Me?" Chuck looked surprised.
"You get to go to work with someone you love...someone you care about..." Jill felt her heart ache a little. She'd gotten to experience that. "You work for a cause, and a just one. It's not just about money..."
Chuck nodded slowly. "But...you can make a difference...I have a plan."
"You do?" Jill raised a brow.
"The pathogen we're creating...let's sabotage it." Chuck grinned.
"What?" Jill gaped. "Chuck, that's years of research and thousands of dollars down the drain, and-...oh...oh my god, I think this might work...But they'll test it...and if it's not up to their standards, then they'll kill me..."
"Kill you?" Chuck shook his head. "You think I would let that happen, Jill?"
Jill felt warmth. She glanced up. Chuck was so easy to like, and believe...she shook her head slowly. "I trust you, Chuck..."
"That's all I need." Chuck smiled warmly.
Jill felt her knees go weak. Now she knew what Sarah felt, and she wanted it so badly. She was there first, right?
"Well...we can plan this later...let's get home."

"Jill, this is agent John Casey." Chuck formally introduced the two. "He's on watch tonight."
Casey nodded with a grunt, not happy to be frateranizing with a fulcrum agent. Jill greeted and left to her room, Chuck sticking around for a moment to speak with Casey.
"Hey Casey."
"Kid." Casey nodded, opening up slightly. "You good?"
"Yeah I'm fine..."
"Alright let's cut the crap here...Walker's just fine. You know, she was our team leader before you showed up and started spinning her in circles..."
Chuck grinned. That was Casey's way of saying Sarah missed him too. "All missions successful?
"Yeah...the way it ought to be." Casey grumbled.
"Alright...I'll just...go, then." Chuck shrugged, hoping to get some sleep.
"Hey!" Casey called , watching him turn. "Take care, okay?"
"Will do. You too, Casey." Chuck replied with a smile, leaving.
Casey leaned back, looking around. He didn't see or hear Jill, so he quickly pulled out his phone. He'd told Alex the truth...about being her father. She knew he was into "government stuff" and that was it. Once she'd gotten over the shock, things were starting to warm up, involving a nightly call, as was becoming tradition.
"Hey, it's Cas- dad." Casey began toleave a voice mail. "I know you're at the movies...God knows I lived there every friday night as a kid...just checking on ya." Casey felt awkward, but the love was clearly there. "I might not be able to return your call, so-..."
Jil smirked at she listened to their call, tapping his phone via the system Fulcrum had given her. For a moment she felt bad. She was hurting Chuck's friends...and he really trusted then she shook it off. In the end, Chuck would come around...he'd understand. And then they'd pick up where they left off. She assured herself that it was possible.
She had her plan.

Chuck pulled out his key wearily, opening the door. He froze as he saw what could've been an angel, turning and smiling upon seeing him. Shutting the door, and dropping his bag, he approached her. "Sarah?"
"Chuck..." She loved hearing his voice. The two embraced, passionately at first, the two absent weeks appearing in the forms of kisses or moans.
"Oh my god I've missed you." Chuck breathed hard, taking a step back .
"I know...these past few weeks have been awful...they just won't end." Sarah agreed, the two still in each other's embrace.
"Happy sixth, sweetheart." Chuck remembered, earning himself a sweet kiss.
"Chuck...that card was so romantic..." Sarah couldn't really form words at this point, she'd missed him so much.
Chuck cupped her face, slowing to notice a few cuts on her forehead. "What happened?" he got defensive immediately.
Sarah smiled, touched by his worry. "Occupational hazard...remember?"
"I know..."Chuck sighed, sitting her down beside him on the bed, eyes unable to tear away from hers.
"Drug lord...knife fights...typical thursday, right?"
Chuck's worry clouded his expression. "They pulled you off monitoring me for this? How can I work, knowing you're constantly in danger and there's nothing I can do about it?"
"Chuck..." Sarah laughed. "You're forgetting the part where I'm the team leader who's been trained in all forms of combat since the age of seventeen..."
"Oh right..." Chuck smiled, "My kick ass ninja girl." he placed a gentle kiss on each cut, causing her to shiver.
"How are things with you?" She asked, leaning back into his arms.
"Good..." He smiled, thrilled just to be with her. He eyed the charm bracelet on her wrist. "Still wearing the bracelet I see?"
"I haven't taken it off." She replied. "It's the closest I can get to you..."
"Not the closest..." Chuck grinned, turning her so that she was on top of him. She let out a light laugh, watching him with an adoring gaze. "Tonight is yours, Ms. Walker..." he began, hands running down to her sides. "What would you like to do?"
"I think you know exactly what I want, Chuck." she grinned right back, lips finding his in a flurry.
The sleep that Chuck had once wanted earlier that night was long forgotten as Chuck showed Sarah just how much he loved her.
