Chapter 15
After that night I left the Mustang with Ellen at the Roadhouse, she was going to give me the money after the buyer came to collect it. For the next few days we sorted through my books and weapons to see which ones we keep and which ones we leave with Ash (he collects the stuff, gets a fortune off the black market.) We put our stuff in the back of the Impala and we were set out to Bobby's to see what he dug up on The Mysterious Resurrection of Dean Winchester.
I sat in the back and stretched my legs out on the black leather seats. The car purred as we backed up my drive way and as soon as Dean hit the highway he let her rip and the car surged forward with a growl. The wind was blowing my hair back, Back in Black was playing I could hear Sam and Dean quietly bickering in the front of the car, as far as could tell they were having one of their bro-ments. I have never felt more alive in my life, even though I just left my house, I finally feel at home.
Sam and Dean were finally quiet, Dean was bobbing his head to the music and Sam was staring out the window with a far away look on his face. I leaned forward and kissed his cheek, bringing him back to the present. He turned around and I could tell he was back, his eyes crinkled slightly and his mouth in that adorable crooked smile of his.
"Earth to Sammy." I said, running my hands through his hair. I could hear Dean making gagging noises, so I turned around and kissed Deans cheek. He blushed slightly.
"What was that for?" he mumbled, I heard Sam's quiet laughter. I just smiled and slid back to my seat and stared at the ever-changing landscape outside the window.
When we reached Bobby's I got out and opened the trunk, while Sam and Dean went to go find Bobby. I looked around the abandoned junkyard, I had never been to Bobby's place, I had only ever got to see him when he visited the Roadhouse.
I grabbed my bag and a couple of books, 'the boys can get their own goddamn bags,' I mumbled to myself as I started to walk toward the ramshackle house. If I had to describe this house I would say it looked very… Bobby. It was a wooden, medium size house surrounded by old cars and pieces of scrap metal.
I walked through the front door and followed the voices of Dean, Sam, and Bobby until I reached a sort of office, the walls were lined with books, there was a small old fashioned TV in the corner and dominating the back of the room was a giant desk with a fireplace in the back. Bobby was leaning against the desk, conversing with Dean, both already with a drink in their hands, and Sam had already picked up a book and was sitting in a armchair, his golden, blue eyes scanning the pages, his forehead crinkled slightly like it did when he was concentrating.
"Well you guys waste no time do you?" I said at the doorway of the room. Bobby and Dean looked over and Sam quickly raised his head, smiled, and quickly went back to reading. Bobby had a huge smile on his face as he quickly walked over and gave me a giant bear hug, like he used to do when I was little. I buried my face in his neck and savored his warmth and the safety I felt with him.
"Jamie, you have no idea how glad I am to see you." Bobby said, pulling away but holding me at arms length. "You also have no idea how scared I am to see you with these idjits, these boys are real trouble." He added, a slight frown etching his face.
"I can't just stand around and not help Bobby, no offence but you guys need all the help you can get, and I am not going to just sit around and wait to see Dean fucked up by whatever thing brought him back." I replied, standing up straighter.
"Yea, I knew you were going to say that. You were always so stubborn." Bobby said with a sad smile on his face. "I learned from the best," I shot back, laughing.
Bobby sat back down at his desk and Sam came up behind me and held me tight, Dean was on the other side of Bobby. "Alright so I've knocked out most monsters, demon was my number one guess until this morning. With the handprint and the noise I found something that is pretty far fetched." Bobby opened an old looking book to a marked page, "Looks like you were saved by an angel."
