Control

Ryuu walked out of the building they were staying in and through the forest. Naruto was out with Killer B's subordinate. Killer B was supposed to teach Naruto to control the Nine-tails but had refused. While they were all training, Ryuu had elected to stay in their hotel, of sorts. He left now, because he was bored. And, because he wanted to train. After a minute, he had reached the shore and stepped out onto the water. He was aware of the true nature of the island but that mattered little at the moment. The ninja standing across from him did matter, though.

"Another one?" Ryuu sighed, gazing at the bladed sleeve on the ninja's right arm.

"You would think he'd get tired of sending us huh?" the ninja asked shrugging and pulling the mask down followed by his black cowl.

He had shaggy brown hair, a peach fuzz beard, and a lazy, laid back expression.

"Sorry man," the ninja sighed. "I don't like predictable stories. Takes the fun out of it."

"Then you should leave," Ryuu stated. "I'm afraid I'll have to put you down if you stay."

"We both know you can't actually kill me," the man stated. "But then again, it's not easy to kill you either, is it?"

"No," Ryuu grinned. "Much easier said than done."

Ryuu sprinted forward, eyes widening as he slashed at the ninja with his tanto. The ninja leaned back and Ryuu's body spun, drawing one of Fu's kunai and slashed at the man but the man raised his right leg, the knife skipping off of his knee pad harmlessly. Ryuu's body spun again, slashing at the man with the kunai from one side and the tanto from the other. The man blocked the kunai with his sleeve and the tanto with a knee pad. This time, he punched Ryuu with his left fist and Ryuu stumbled back then stepped forward, slashing at the man. Ryuu struggled to control his own actions. The movements he was performing were far from sloppy but they weren't natural, they seemed to precise to be natural, almost scripted. The harder he tried to take control, the more his body shook, making it more difficult for his opponent to block the attacks right. Finally, Ryuu's body snapped back under his control and he leapt away, skidding to a stop and glaring at the man.

"You broke my control," the man blinked then sighed. "Well, I did want an interesting story. Let's see if the character can kill the author now that he's broken his restraints."

Ryuu blinked, confused, then sprinted forward, slashing at the man. The man blocked it, moving faster than Ryuu expected. Ryuu growled in confusion and spun, blurring into movement as he slashed at the man rapidly with both blades. The man's sleeve and knee pads blocked every attack flawlessly no matter how fast Ryuu moved. Finally Ryuu skipped to full speed, the man slowing to a near stand still. Then, as Ryuu stabbed the kunai at the man, he realized his aim had been off. The blade skipped off of one of the blades on the sleeve and missed by a fraction of an inch. Ryuu spun, stabbing at the man with with the tanto but again his aim was off and the blade barely nicked him. Ryuu sped away, cursing and then turned and fired a Fireball Jutsu at him, again missing, yet the man never moved. He slowed to normal speed again, falling to one knee and growling in frustration. The man looked at his shoulder, checking to see how bad it was bleeding then looked back at Ryuu.

"Chidori Stream," Ryuu growled, sending lightning coursing across the surface of the water ahead of him.

At the last second, he made it stop, realizing he was facing the island. He cursed then looked up at the ninja, who had jumped, just in time for the ninja's foot to crash into his face. Ryuu shot underwater then rocketed back out, grabbing the man on the way up and beginning to pummel him. The man looked bored at first, until Ryuu broke his nose. Then, he was screaming through blood. Finally Ryuu flipped over and hurled the man back into the water, forming a Lightning Blade and shooting after him. He shoved it at him but missed by a millimeter, shooting underwater again. He shot back out, flipping over and landing on his feet, skidding backward across the surface then stopped. He held a hand to his face and activated his Mangekyo Sharingan. As he did, he saw that the man's chakra was smudged in his vision. Rather than simply around the man, as his normal Sharingan had shown, his Mangekyo showed it smudged, taking up enough room for three or four of the man.

"So the character can't surpass the author after all," the man sighed. "Shame."

Ryuu charged, slashing rapidly at the man but no matter what he did, none connected beyond a scratch. He couldn't aim, even with his Mangekyo Sharingan. Finally he leapt back, barely avoiding the man's sleeve blades.

"What the fuck is going on," Ryuu growled forming hand seals. "Wind Style, Vacuum Spheres!"

He exhaled a small wall of them at the man but they all shot past without hitting him. Ryuu growled in frustration and tried again with a much more crowded barrage. This time, despite no serious injuries, one managed to scratch his right cheek and another placed a scratch high on his left inner thigh, just barely missing his groin.

"That was close," the man sighed. "Looks like the character is inferior to the author after all."

Ryuu growled in frustration as Naruto fell at the man, swinging a Massive Rasengan but missing by an inch and splashing down in the water. Naruto jumped out, landing beside Ryuu as Yamato sent massive wooden spikes out of his arm at the man. The man leapt into the air, for a moment, it looked like he wouldn't make it, then cleared the top of the wall of wood spikes and landed beside them.

"That's not possible," Ryuu breathed. "He couldn't have made it. He was still only about halfway up when it reached him. But...I remember him being able to make it too. What the fuck? Is he controlling time or something?"

"I'm the athor," the man spoke up.

"Author of what?" Ryuu asked.

"Reality," the man grinned.

"Reality?" Ryuu breathed. "He's using Izanagi? How!?"

"Izanagi?" Yamato blinked. "The Uchiha jutsu that sacrifices a Sharingan but allows the user to rewrite the world around them to remove anything negative to them while keeping their own attacks real? How can he do that?"

"He's not," Hinata spoke up, landing beside Naruto. "The chakra around him, you see it, right?"

"Yeah," Ryuu nodded. "But it's barely a smudge."

"The Sharingan can see the chakra directly around his body like everyone has," Hinata surmized, earning a nod from Ryuu. "The Mangekyo Sharingan could see it better, the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan could see it better than that, I would assume the Rinnegan could see it better than that, but only the Byakugan can see it properly. It's not a cloud of chakra, it's silhouettes. Dozens of them. All of him, I think, and all of them inside of two feet from him. When you attack, he doesn't dodge or reverse time, he switches to a different silhouette."

"Then why not hit him with a jutsu big enough to hit them all?" Naruto suggested beginning to form a Rasengan the size of a house with the help of a clone.

"Naruto stop," Ryuu snapped startling Naruto and allowing the Rasengan fizzle out.

"What?" Naruto asked.

"In addition to his silhouettes, he is able to control your actions," Ryuu stated. "He still made me attack him after taking control, but he was able to block everything. It was weird, like he wanted a difficult battle but at the same time, wanted to win. And he keeps talking about how I'm a character and he's an author and he said something about predictable battles."

"So basically, he's crazy," Naruto stated.

"I don't know," Ryuu stated. "But he's definitely strong."

Four Naruto clones suddenly shot out of the water around the man, all shoving house-sized Rasengans at the man. All four met each other and exploded. The man, however, was in the air over where they had been. He landed on the water again and turned his attention on Ryuu. Then, everyone except Ryuu sprinted forward, Hinata drawing a kunai and everyone attacking him. Ryuu noticed that no one was using any special techniques, just physical attacks that anyone could, in theory, perform. Ryuu realized that the man could only make them move their bodies, not control their chakra.

"So that's it," Ryuu smirked as the man dodged sideways from a slash from Yamato and Naruto missed an attack.

Just as Hinata darted forward to stab him, Yamato's arm flashed around in front of the man at his eyes. The man's eyes widened and he leaned back, the attack missing by a mile but Hinata suddenly leapt back, followed by the others.

"What the..." The man growled wiping his eyes, which were beginning to water.

"Your control is based on keeping at least one of the people you control in your line of sight," Ryuu stated. "So when I used a simple Puppet Jutsu on Yamato to make him attack your eyes, making you flinch and blink while blocking your view of Hinata, they were released. Now, let's see about those silhouettes."

He formed his Susanoo and the chest opened, a massive flood of green chakra needles shooting out at the man. He simply stood there for a moment, the needles shooting past harmlessly, a scratch appearing on his body every so often. After a moment, he began to sprint forward, the needles flying straight at him but still missing. Finally, the man jumped, straight through the stream of chakra needles, all of them still missing him, and landed in front of Ryuu's Susanoo, slashing with his sleeve and shattering the Susanoo with his raw power. Everyone stared in shock at the man who looked annoyed almost. Then, the man stepped forward, slashing at Ryuu. Yamato stepped in front of him, both arms growing into a several foot thick wooden shield but the shield exploded on contact with the man's sleeve blades, blasting Yamato and Ryuu away. Ryuu flipped over, landing on his feet and growled in annoyance.

"Fine," Ryuu growled. "Let's try this one."

He formed the Seal of Confrontation and a thick fog began to form.

"Ninja Art, Hidden Mist Jutsu!" Ryuu shouted as the fog thickened until everyone was blinded.

Ryuu spun at the sound of approaching footsteps and found Hinata running toward him.

"My Byakugan can still see through this," Hinata reported. "I'll gather the others and guard them."

Ryuu nodded and vanished, having managed to copy the Silent Killing Technique from Zabuza. He sprinted silently through the fog, every sound or movement of the others allowing him to pinpoint them and tell who they were. He appeared behind the man they were fighting and sprinted forward, stabbing at him with his tanto. He missed. The man spun, slashing at him but Ryuu vanished again. Ryuu wrapped an arm around the man, driving his tanto down at him. This time, the man was suddenly gone and Ryuu stopped the tanto less than an inch from himself just as he began to move it away, the man appeared in front of him, using his left arm to push the tanto toward Ryuu. Ryuu gripped his own wrist with the other hand, pushing away. The man used his right hand to keep Ryuu from dropping the tanto and Ryuu began to lose ground. He activated his left eye and Zabuza appeared behind the man, slashing at him with Kubikiribocho. The man vanished and Ryuu flipped his tanto around, blocking the sword and letting Zabuza vanish. Then, he spun, ducking under the man's sleeve and stood, slashing upward and splitting the man's head in half.

The moment the man began to fall, Ryuu began making hand seals while using his left eye to unravel several dozen scrolls. Each scroll had a seal on it and out of each scroll shot a hand made out of chakra. The hands formed a massive, unavoidable wall and all reached for the man and the area around him. Sure enough, his body began to flash around randomly before one hand caught him, dragging him into the seal and sealing him. Ryuu sighed, letting his hands fall to his side and deactivated his Sharingan, letting the fog fade.

"How did you catch him?" Naruto asked.

"His silhouettes didn't reset after he shifted to another," Ryuu stated. "In order to move them, he would have to move himself. He kept shifting back to the center when he avoided our attacks, making us think we just couldn't aim. So when he was immobilized while regenerating, i sent a wall of seals bigger than his silhouette cloud at him. Each seal removed his ability to move or use his chakra, keeping him from escaping."

"Good thinking," Yamato sighed. "We'd better get back."

"Yeah," Ryuu nodded. "I'm tired of being controlled."
