Chapter 6

Name

When they reached Vongola's Headquarters, Tsuna immediately got out of the car and picked the girl up bridal style again. He adjusted her in his arms and walked into the Headquarters.

His guardians were following behind him, except for Hibari who had gone to his room first. They were greeted by Shamal, who was waiting for them beside the stairs. Tsuna nodded at the doctor, sending a signal to him.

Tsuna turned around to face his guardians. "Now, rest. We'll talk about this tomorrow. Meet me in my office at 10 o'clock sharp." He led Shamal to his room. The black haired girl in his arms clutched his suit tightly with her trembling hand, she looked scared. So, he walked faster.

The girl was looking at Shamal. He had black hair, the same style as the silver haired man with a red shirt. His white robe remind her of those scary men who did all of those experiments in that place.

Then they reached the desired room. The door was opened by two maids that met them met halfway. Tsuna walked into the room and placed the girl down on the sofa. He squeezed her hand as if telling me that everything's okay.

The girl took her first look at her surroundings. The room was very comfortable. In front her were a table and more sofas. She looked to her left and there was a veranda. Near the wall, there was a table with a vase on it. In the vase was something red. Flower? It has a beautiful shape and colour. I feel like I can stare at it forever.

Tsuna sat beside the black haired girl and told her to follow the maid so she could have a bath. So I just stood up and followed the maid. When I was already outside the room, the maid closed the door.

The maid smiled at the younger girl. "Follow me, please." And she did.

The girl followed the maid to a room not far from Tsuna's. When they walked into the room, there was another maid standing inside. She led the girl to another room, the bathroom. She helped the black haired girl get out of her grey gown. The girl then drowned her body in the hot water. The hot water felt so nice on her tired body. She smelled a nice scent. It calmed her as she breathed in the scent. With each breath, the girl felt more relaxed than ever.

The teen started to enjoy the bath, but then she remembered the man in white robe. She turned to face the maid hesitantly. "...Unnn..." She wasn't sure how to ask her question.

One of the maids must have heard her because the woman approached the teen and asked, "Is there something wrong?"

The girl looked up at the maid's soft and worried face. "Unn...No...I...May I ask you something?"

The maid smiled again and nodded. Her smile erased the girl's uneasiness, so she asked her about the man, "That man...who was wearing the white robe...who is he?"

The maids' eyes widened as if they didn't expect her to ask about it. "Well...he is Dr. Shamal."

"Dr...Shamal?" the girl questioned uncertainly.

"He is Decimo's most trusted doctor. He's also an expert in poisons." one of the maids said.

Poison? Hmm...

"What's wrong?" That voice broke the black haired girl's thoughts.

She shook her head and said, "No...Nothing..." The maids looked at each other and decided to ignore it.

When she finished her bath, and the girl walked towards Decimo's room as the maids escorted her.

After bowing at the girl, the maids left her in front of Decimo's room. The black haired girl looked at the door. The golden handle was daring her to pull it. She wanted to knock on the door, when a voice she recognised as Dr. Shamal's voice was heard.

"...That's what happened there." Tsuna said to the older man in the white robe who sat across him.

Shamal looked deep in thought, thinking about everything that had been said by the brunet and then he said, "Hmmm...I have never heard about the poison they used. The first symptoms that you told me earlier are the same as the symptoms for one of my poisons. But my poison will kill the victim on the spot, not like the poison they used...I'll take samples of your blood and see if I can find the antitoxin."

The brunet boss nodded at him and let him take a sample of his blood. He thought 'Why does the Oscurità want to destroy Vongola? Does it having something to do with the Vongola History?'

"Do you know anything else about this poison?" The doctor's question brought him out of his thoughts.

"I don't know." Tsuna sighed in defeat. He really didn't know anything about the poison. He was feeling hopeless when suddenly a voice cut in.

"I know."

Tsuna looked behind him and saw that the girl had come back from her bath. He stood up and walked towards her. "How are you feeling?"

"I feel fine." she answered softly as she saw the smile on the brunet's face. "I know about the poison."

The determined look on her face somehow calmed Tsuna down and giving him hope. "Do you really know?"

She nodded, "Yes. Because I watched as the..." She paused. Nervousness was creeping up her nerves. She gulped to erase the nervousness and spoke again. "...objects...that were experimented on." she said, looking straight into Tsuna's eyes.

Tsuna looked at Shamal and nodded, knowing that he was thinking the same thing as he was. So, he told the girl to sit on the sofa he was sitting on across from Shamal.

She began to explain to the men what she knew about the poison. She said about the symptoms could be different for each person, but mostly, the symptoms were feeling tired, coughing blood, heart attacks and faint. The rarest symptoms were asthma, throwing up, amnesia, comas, and paralysis. The victim would have had those symptoms until death.

"...The worst is...instant death..." she explained.

Tsuna raised his eyebrow at that. 'Instant death?'

As if she knew what he was thinking, she continued. "Yes. There was one victim, a girl that was younger than me. She..." Her mouth closed and her eyes wandered in panic as if she was about to tell something that shouldn't be told. "...After they dumped her in that room where you found me, she started to cry loudly in pain. Not long after that, she...died."

Tsuna watched as Shamal placed his chin on his intertwined hands. From his narrowed eyebrows Tsuna already knew that he was thinking really hard. Then he looked at the nameless girl.

'Nameless?' He sighed at that thought. 'If she is going to live here, she will need a name. What name suits her though?' He looked over her. Short black hair with little curls at the end of each strand. Soft brown eyes. Her pale skin had a rosy colour because of the hot bath.

Tsuna was thinking about a suitable name for the girl that sat beside him when suddenly, Shamal's voice brought him out from his thoughts. "How long...How long does it take for the poison to kill the victim?" The brunet could feel the seriousness in the man voice. He looked back at the girl. He was anxious to hear the answer.

She looked away to think about the answer. Then she looked at Tsuna and then Shamal. "...They die 3-5months after they were poisoned." She stopped at that.

The three of them fell into silence, taking in the information they just got.

The Decimo sighed hard. 'I have no time left. How can I tell my famiglia about this? Besides...if I tell them, they will surely go and search for the Oscurità. And that idea doesn't sound good.'

"Is there an antidote for the poison?" Shamal asked.

The girl shook her head. "I'm afraid not... They had tried to make it many times, but they never succeeded."

"Are you sure?" Shamal pestered her. Deep down, he wished that what the girl was joking.

The girl nodded. "They tried numerous times. But because they couldn't find anything, they gave up. I still remember when the Boss was angry because his scientist couldn't make the antidote."

Knowing that they had reached a dead end, Tsuna decided to stop the discussion. And Shamal left the headquarters to research the antidote.

Tsuna was deep in his thought while the girl looked down to her lap. Then she felt a cold breeze blow passed her. She looked towards the opened window door by the veranda. She stood up and walked towards it, but stopped to look back at the still thinking Decimo. She continued her walk to the veranda. After reaching the railing, she looked around.

The black night sky and a bright shining moon. It was just a simple and ordinary thing that people often or always saw. But for her, whose life was trapped in a mansion with scary things happening before her eyes, this scenery was a luxury.

Then she looked down. Because of the darkness, she couldn't see it clearly. But she was sure that under the veranda was a sea of red. She squinted her eyes to make out the outline of the mysterious thing. Then she recognized things were the same shape as the red flower in the vase inside the room.

Tsuna sighed again when he remembered his talk with the girl and Shamal. 'Oh! Name...I have to give her a name.' He thought about what name he should give her. Tsuna looked at her. She was standing on the veranda and looking at something. The brunet stood up and approached her.

"What are you looking at?" She jumped slightly and turned around to face him.

"Ah...uhh...Nothing..." She looked down, staring at the stone cold floor.

Tsuna stood beside her and looked around. Right under the veranda was his rose garden. He smiled and looked back at her. "Were you looking at the roses?"

"Roses?" she asked, confused.

"Yes. Roses. Those red flowers you are looking at." Tsuna pointed at the roses. "Its name is Rose. Do you like it?"

"Rose..." She looked at the roses. She nodded and smiled a little. "It's beautiful."

Tsuna saw a small blush on her cheeks and enthusiasm in her eyes. The rosy colour of her cheek brightened her pale face and he liked it. It made him feel happy. 'Rose. Rosette...Yes...' "Rosette."

"Eh?" She looked at the brunet questioningly.

"Rosette. Your name...Rosette," Tsuna smiled at her and placed his hands on her shoulders.

The girl widened her eyes. "Rosette?"

The brunet nodded at her enthusiastically. "Yes. It means rose. I think it name suits you."

"I have...a name?"

"Yes. You have a name. From now on, you are Rosette."

Tsuna could see tears welling up in her eyes. She smiled at him and nodded happily. Small drops of tears fell down, followed by the other drops. The brunet collected her in his arms. This way he could see how short she was compared to him. Her height only reached Tsuna's chest. He hugged her tightly as if she was about to disappear. Then he felt warm liquid run down his cheek. He wiped it. 'Tears.' Tsuna smiled as he remembered the time when he spent days with Kyoya in France years ago.

~Flashback~

Tsuna lay beside Kyoya. Kyoya's arms warped were around him so perfectly. With his head on Kyoya's chest, he could hear his steady heartbeat. Tsuna snuggled closer to him, and Kyoya hugged the brunet tighter. Tsuna looked outside the opened glass window. He could feel the breeze fly pass them, bringing the scent of roses. He smiled at that.

"Kyoya."

"Hn."

"Do you remember the first gift you gave to me?" Even without looking at his face, Tsuna knew that he raised an eyebrow at his question.

"Yes...A bouquet of red roses."

Tsuna smiled when he heard Kyoya's answer. "What?" Kyoya asked.

The brunet chuckled a little, and then looked up at him. "Kyoya...I...I just thought that if we had a child, I want to name him or her with rose in it."

"Why?" Kyoya raised his arm and started to patting Tsuna's head.

"Because I really love you and I also really love the word 'rose.' Every time I see or mention it, they always remind me of you."

"And..?"

"So, if we name our child with rose, every time I call our child, I'll remember you."

Kyoya looked at Tsuna with a raised eyebrow, but soon smiled softly at him. The smile he never showed to anyone. The smile only for Tsuna to see. The smile which gave the brunet happiness. The smile he loved the most.

The smile didn't end as he asked, "So, what name you will use?"

Tsuna smiled back at him. "I haven't decided. What about you?"

"Hnnn..." He thought for a while and then said, "Rosette?"

"It's a good name, Kyoya. I like it."

"Rosette, then." he said, still smiling.

~End of Flashback~

Tsuna smiled at the memory. 'Rosette.' He looked down at the girl in his embrace. She had calmed down a bit. The brunet felt a bond between her and him. And a strange yet pleasant feeling ran through his heart. 'What is this feeling? I feel like I have to teach her, keep her, and love her. Is this what a father feels towards his child?' Without his consent, a wide smile made its way on Tsuna's face.
