Carnage

Ryuu landed on top of a rock, watching Kakuzu. Izumo and Kotetsu, two of the shinobi from the Hidden Leaf that had apparently been present when Shikamaru's team had fought Kakuzu the first time, the time that had ended with Asuma's death, had him bound in chains, but there were now four living masses of black cords with masks flying around, unleashing devastating jutsus of four different elements on the shinobi.

"How do I take those black things down?" Ryuu asked.

"Destroy the masks," Izumo stated. "Go. We'll keep this guy busy."

Ryuu nodded and turned, sprinting away, toward a fat-looking black thing with a mask that looked to be wearing red lipstick. It spun toward him, mouth opening and Kakuzu's voice reached his ears as its mouth began to glow with flames.

"Fire Style, Searing Migrane."

"Oh shit," Ryuu growled just as the flames exploded out of its mouth, engulfing him and a massive area around them.

The creature ended the jutsu, flying into the air above the flames just as Ryuu appeared behind it.

"Close call," Ryuu growled, splitting the creature's top half with his tanto.

He looked to his right as a powerful gust of wind blasted a second one and obliterated it. He flew over, landing in front of Tenten and she smiled at him, looking tired.

"You did that?" Ryuu blinked. "How?"

"This fan," Tenten said. "Not entirely sure how it works but it's powerful. Uses a massive amount of chakra though."

"Let me see it," Ryuu said holding his hand out and she passed it to him.

He flew into the air again, turning on the other two creatures as a massive wall of wind and water chakra shot toward him.

"Fuck," he growled, dropping the fan just before being blasted and launched out to sea.

He splashed down hard, nearly losing consciousness, his forehead protector flying off at some point. He swam to the surface, climbing out as a Pressure Damage blasted him from the right. He shot over the water for a ways before crashing into a wall of it that dragged him along, the pressure crushing his body before slamming him into the cliff face. The water retreated to the sea and left him on the shore, groaning and hurt, gashes and bruises all over his body, shirt hanging off him in tatters and pants shredded below the knees. He stood, pulling his shirt's remains off as his wounds steamed and sealed themselves.

"What is..." he began but trailed off before looking up at the two creatures. "Don't know what that is, but I'll take it."

He drew his tanto and leapt into the air as the water jutsu using creature flew at him, mouth open. Just as a torrent of water shot out, Ryuu began to make hand seals, inhaling. Then, he opened his mouth, firing a Pressure Damage. The jutsu exploded against the water, dispersing it and giving Ryuu enough cover to throw his tanto. It shot out the far side of the mist created by the explosion and hit the mask, destroying it before beginning to fall, spinning slowly. Ryuu used the Body Flicker Technique to reach it before using it again to escape a Pressure Damage. Just as he spun toward the mask, Vacuum Spheres began to blast through him from the mask. He staggered backward then stopped, the wounds beginning to slowly heal.

"Look at that," Ryuu grinned. "It wasn't a fluke after all."

The creature flew down to the ground, flying at him and Ryuu knelt, placing his hands on the ground. Then, wooden spikes began to shoot out of the ground in a trail heading toward the creature, impaling it and destroying the mask before it could react. Ryuu staggered back, falling to one knee and sighed.

"Damn," Ryuu sighed. "I think I overdid it fighting Kinkaku. Oh well. Gotta go get Kakuzu now."

Just as he stood, a pair of massive glowing butterfly wings made of chakra spread into the air by the shore and he stared at them in shock.

"What in the hell is that?" Ryuu gaped.

A moment later, Choji climbed up the cliff, the wings coming from his massively enlarged back.

"Wow," Ryuu blinked. "This aught to be good."

Choji looked around for a second before punching at the ground. Ryuu activated his Byakugan and saw Kakuzu leaping off the cliff to avoid Choji's fist. Then, Choji spun, punching him again, smashing him into the ground at the bottom of the cliff, trapping him. Ryuu smirked, deactivating his Byakugan and his head suddenly spun.

"So little strength left," Ryuu groaned, kneeling so he didn't black out. "Looks like I'm out of the fight for now."

After a few minutes, he stood, beginning to walk down a thin path made from one of Kinkaku's tails at some point until he was at the water, collapsing beside it and groaning. He looked toward Choji in time to see him grab a reincarnated Hyuga who Ryuu could swear from a distance looked just like Hiashi Hyuga.

"It's over then," Ryuu sighed, seeing the last reincarnated shinobi encased in a purple barrier.

Medics rushed around, healing anyone who was wounded but alive and Tenten sat beside Ryuu grinning down at him.

"Hush," Ryuu grumbled. "I wasted too much energy against Kinkaku."

Tenten nodded, still grinning. After a little while, Ryuu stood, beginning to walk toward Choji. When he reached them, he found that the Hyuga did in fact look exactly like Hiashi, except with a strange green seal on his forehead.

"Who's he?" Ryuu asked.

"That's Hizashi Hyuga, Hiashi's twin brother," Ino stated.

"You look familiar," Hizashi said. "I know you. You're that half-blood, aren't you? My, you're all grown up now."

"Glad someone remembers me," Ryuu smirked.

"As I recall, you were left without a curse mark, were you not?" Hiashi asked from behind Ryuu, who turned, displaying his forehead to him. "I see. You have it though, don't you."

"The Byakugan?" Ryuu asked grinning. "Yes, yes I do."

Hiashi nodded looking up at his brother.

"Are you out of chakra?" Hiashi asked.

"Yes," Ryuu sighed. "You're not going to seal my Byakugan are you?"

"No," Hiashi said shaking his head. "You can absorb chakra, can you not?"

"Yes," Ryuu nodded.

"Take mine," Hizashi said. "I don't want it."

Ryuu nodded, jumping up to Hizashi and resting his palm against Hizashi's forehead, absorbing his chakra until Hizashi told him to stop so that Hizashi wouldn't deconstruct and regenerate outside of Choji's fist. Then, Ryuu dropped to the ground again, looking toward the one shinobi that hadn't lost chakra. Now that he was closer, he recognized him. Dan Kato. He was a renown shinobi capable of controlling his spirit to the point of fighting as a spirit and killing enemies while being unable to be harmed.

"Dan Kato," Ryuu breathed. "They pulled out all the stops here. All they're missing is Madara Uchiha himself."

Just as he said this, a massive explosion of rubble and dust shot into the air before clearing, leaving a massive wooden statue with several closed eyes on its head, pointed teeth, a barely humanoid form, and shackles on its hands and feet. After a moment, the shackles' chains shattered and the thing roared, the sound alone sending out strong winds that made them all shield their eyes.

"What the hell is that thing?" Ryuu gaped.

"Choji!" Choza shouted. "Let's go!"

Choji leapt up beside his father and they sprinted forward. Choza swung at the enormous creature, that was a good deal better than the giants attacking it, with his gigantic metal bo staff, but it grabbed the staff, holding it back.

"Choji, now!" Choza shouted, leaping aside as Choji stepped forward, throwing a punch.

As he did, the wings reached down, forming a massive chakra shroud like blue flames around his fist. Then, he punched the thing and it skidded back a relatively short distance before stopping.

"It...stopped me?" Choji blinked.

"What happened?" Choza asked.

Then, the creature roared, a wave of chakra shooting off of it, blasting everything on top of the cliff and decimating the shinobi forces on top. It destroyed the barrier holding Dan Kato as well, but left him unconscious, a true testament to the monster's power. As it walked, the Kumo ninja that had saved Darui from Kinkaku used an Earth Style Mountain Jutsu, two enormous chunks of stone rising up, trying to crush the creature from the sides but it held its hands out, stopping them, the chunks of stone beginning to break apart. Then, the creature roared and four of the stump-like protrusions on its shoulders and back began to glow with electricity. Then, a wave of lightning shot outward from it, obliterating everything left on top of the cliff, except a few lucky shinobi who somehow managed to escape the jutsu, including the ninja who had tried to crush the thing.

"That thing's so strong," Ryuu breathed. "It's like a tailed beast."

Just then, he heard a grunt of pain behind him. He spun, seeing Madara knocking out the two shinobi guarding the Kohaku no Johei, and the gourd that Darui had had when Ryuu arrived. Ryuu sprinted at him but passed straight through when he threw a punch. He spun as Darui arrived.

"Sorry, but you don't get to have those ninja tools," Darui said.

"I don't want them," Madara said. "It's just what's inside them I want. Once I'm done with them you can have them back, if you want them so badly."

Just then, Shikamaru's shadow attached to Madara's.

"So you use Ginkaku and Kinkaku's Nine-tails power to their fullest on the front lines, then when you're done with them you want to just seal their Nine-tails chakra inside that monstrous creation of you," Shikamaru summarized.

"Ah, so there are a few smart people in the Allied Shinobi Forces after all," Madara said.

"Am I wrong?" Shikamaru asked.

"It really is a true shame that you are my enemy," Madara stated.

"So then, that monster is..." Shikamaru trailed off as the monster leapt into the air. "No way!"

Ryuu looked up, seeing its foot descending at them all and growled in annoyance. The foot crashed down on the small chunk of land they had been on and Ryuu appeared off to the side with Shikamaru and Darui.

"Thanks," Shikamaru sighed.

"I'm sorry for being a hassle," Darui apologized.

"Don't worry about it," Ryuu sighed. "Looks like Madara got away after all, though."

Then, the monster leaned back, roaring before a cloud of smoke shot up around it and it disappeared. Everyone stared in shock before slowly beginning to search for survivors. They were few and far between. Almost three quarters of their troops had died. But as night began to fall, there was no sign of any more enemies, so Ryuu decided to get some rest for the next day.
