-The Day has come chapter forty seven-

True to abuelas word and my instincts, here we are at Stanford hospital waiting the birth of the twins. My water broke in the middle of dinner and we called the family then rushed to the hospital. The whole family is waiting in the lobby. My brothers are so excited that they are acting like girls waiting to go to prom. Sky is worse popping her head into the room every 15 mins.

We have been here for about 3 hours and the doc says I am dilating on schedule. Hopefully my babies will be here within a couple hours and we will be able to see who wins the bet on what they look like. Santana seems to think they are going to have my blue eyes and her black wavy hair. I think they will have her amazing chestnut brown eyes with ash brown hair. Sky thinks they will have green eyes with black hair. Why she thinks they will have green eyes is beyond me. My brothers don't care what they look like as long as they grow up loving the 49ers. Whatever they look like, all that matters is that they are both healthy.

"Baby"

I am pulled out of my daydreaming

"Yes?"

"The doctor wants you to get up and walk the halls. She says that it might help move the babies along faster"

"Ok, do you think you could take me to the roof? I love the view and it would be nice to get some fresh air."

"Of course my love, anything for you"

San helps me out of the bed and we make our way to the elevator. She pushes the 5th floor and the doors close. We ride up 2 floors and the doors open again. We exit the elevator and make our way down the hallway to the roof access door. Still supporting me San opens the door and helps me through. We walk to the edge and look out to the hills not too far in the distance. It's still dark out as its 5 in the morning and the lights from the street lamps are so pretty.

"So this is it. When we leave here we go home as four instead of 2"

"I know I am so excited but at the same time I am so nervous."

"Don't be nervous babe you are going to be an incredible mom"

"I know, and you are too and if we need help I know we have our parents but still we are now and forever responsible to two other lives."

"I think that's the best part about it, they are ours, we created two little people and they are us. We get to show them the world and the way that it works. Teach them all the amazing things we like and have been taught."

I look over at San with nothing but love pouring out of me.

"Your right San, together we can do anything"

She smile at me and pull me into her arms kissing my forehead.

"I love you Britt"

"I love you San"

We stand there, San wrapped around me until the sun's rays peak over the hills tops.

"Is it ok if we go back inside the pain is starting to get really bad."

"Let's go baby"

The pain started to really get to me and for a good reason, when we made it back to the room the nurse checked me and I was at 8 centimeters. The babies would be here soon. I tried to relax and take a nap, going in and out of sleep. Before I knew it the doctor was in the room and I was getting prepped to deliver my babies.

"Push" the nurse tells me

"Push, come on your almost there" the nurse continues.

"Come on baby, you can do it she's almost here. Just a couple more pushes" Santana tries to encourage me

I am sitting in the hospital bed with sweat dripping from me forehead, pushing as hard as I can. We are awaiting the arrival of our first child, a daughter, Makayla Elizabeth Lopez-Pierce. San stands by my side wiping sweat from my forehead with a damp washcloth, trying to whisper encouraging words in to my ear.

"I can't wait to see those piercing blue eyes and full head of black hair baby" San says

San looks down smiling at me squeezing my hand. I look up at her locking eyes squeezing back. As she squeezes I pushes again and with that push we hear the first cries from our little Makayla. The cry sounds are amazing, and our brains make an instant connection to that sound, we break the stare between blue and brown looking down in between my thighs as our baby is being wrapped in a blanket then placed on my chest. I can't control the emotions that flood me or the grin and heat radiating off my face.

"San you were right she has my eyes and your hair. She's beautiful!"

San looks at me and our daughter noticing a tear slowly falling from my eyes. She reaches up and wipes it away with her thumb. She places her hand on our daughter's foot while an overwhelming feeling of comfort and peace spreads throughout my body. This is the most amazing day of my life.

We don't have but a minute to relish in the bliss of our daughters presence when the urge to push rushes through me. Now with our second child on his way San is handed Makayla. She holds our daughter in one arm and with the other hand takes mine in hers.

"You're doing so good baby" San says

She squeezes my hand trying to show me she's here. Since Maxwell and Makalya are twins I am sure he will mirror the looks of our daughter.

San bends over and places a kiss on my forehead.

"You are amazing B, I love you so much."

A couple pushes and my hypothesis is proven right. Like Makalya, Maxwell James Lopez-Pierce has piercing blue eyes and full head of black hair. He however weighs a little more than his older sister.

Maxwell is cleaned off and placed in my lap. San leans over placing Maklya beside her brother. Their bond is crazy it's like they know the other one is there, they both have their heads turned towards each other.

"Look at the little family we created B"

San reaches out for my hand and brings it up to her lips, places a kiss on it. She looks down into my eyes. The joy that was filling me almost felt intoxicating, like I was having an overdose of too much happiness.

We spent the first ten minutes alone, just our little family.

"We better go tell the family huh?" San asks

I smiles at our kids, and then look up to San. I nod my head in an up and down motion, biting my lip. As San leaves to get the family the nurses help me and the babies clean up.

After a couple minutes the door creeps open and San's head pops in. I smile at her and she smiles back, the kids still in my lap.

"You ready?"

"Yes"

I can see San take a deep breath and pushes the door open for the family. They swarm in making their way over to the bedside. They are all quite, just taking in the newest family members. I look over to my mom and I notice that she is crying, I turn my head to look at Mrs. Lopez and she's doing the same thing.

San walks over to my bedside and picks up Makayla and places her in Mrs. Lopez's arms. She looks the way I feel, like she's overdosing on joy. San then turns around and picks up Max, placing him in my mom's arms. Her crying stops and she picks up his little hand. He instinctually wraps his finger around her thumb.

"Awe San he's so precious." Sky says.

"They look just like you did mija when you were born, minus the blue eyes" Mrs Lopez says

I look over to Makalya and her uncle is holding her, he looks so nervous. These are the first grandkids on both sides. The family stays for another thirty minutes. We have birthday cake to celebrate the kids being born. Everyone gets to hold both kids and we say our goodbyes.

Now it's just me and my family. I am the happiest I have ever been. I think back to that night right before 6th grade in the school auditorium, the night that this amazing Latina came into my life. That night and tonight go down in the books for the best days of my life ever!

Hey guys so this is a spot that I am going to take a break from this story. I have a new story in mind and I am trying to get it down in my computer. I want to thank all of you for reading my story it has been so much fun hearing what you all have to say. I know that the later chapters came out slower then the first and I am sorry about that. I do plan on continuing this story though. I will update on this story when I do and let you all know the title to the sequel.
