The Dark Star was exactly like every other bar Revan had ever been in. The music was deafeningly loud, the lighting dim, with the pazaak table by the entrance having slightly brighter lighting. And the air stank of smoke and alcohol. The Jedi Knight shook her head, and said, "Let's just get to the dueling ring. It should be quieter in there."
"WHAT?" Meetra shouted, "YOU NEED TO TALK LOUDER, REV."
"Sorry." she replied, raising her voice. "Can you hear me now?"
"Yeah." Meetra replied. "What were you trying to say?"
"Let's just get to the dueling area. It's quieter in there."
"Right" Meetra said.
Bastila asked, "Why is it so loud in here?"
"Dunno." Revan replied. "Probably something about it that improves profits."
"Great." Bastila muttered.
"What?" Revan asked, tilting her head to the side.
"Great." Bastila said louder.
Revan nodded, and said, "This way." They walked through the area, the music getting louder, and the stench of alcohol growing stronger. Revan glanced at Bastila, and saw the Padawan looked like she was physically in pain. Motioning for Meetra, Alek, and Selena to go on, Revan turned to Bastila and asked, "Are you okay?"
"This place smells terrible. And the music is so loud." Bastila shouted.
Revan wrapped an arm around Bastila and said into the younger woman's ear, "Do you want to just go outside and wait for the rest of us?"
"No." Bastila said, shaking her head. "You said it would be quieter in the dueling ring. I should be fine in there."
Revan nodded, and said, "You might want to try covering your ears. It should help keep the volume at a more bearable level."
"Alright." Bastila said, doing so. "I guess we can just communicate through the bond."
"Right." Revan replied, "This way."
-=0=-
Alek said, "This doesn't look like the dueling ring."
"It isn't." Selena said, "This is the get drunk without going deaf area."
Meetra said. "We need to find the dueling ring."
"You guys can if you want. I'm staying in here." Selena said, sitting down on a nearby sofa. "Besides, Meetra, I thought you didn't care for the rules that much. Or this bitch we're supposed to be rescuing. If I'm drunk, I could 'lose my balance' and send her to her death."
"Just because she's a bitch doesn't mean she deserves to die." Meetra sighed.
"Oh, still have feelings for her?" Selena asked with an asshole grin on her face.
"No. I never really had any in the first place. The person I have feelings for just sees me as a friend."
"Ouch." Alek said.
Selena sniffed and said, "You mean it was just shallow and meaningless, Meetra? I'm hurt."
"I made that clear from the start." the Knight sighed.
"What are you three doing in here?" Revan asked as she and Bastila entered, the Padawan covering her ears. "I said to go to the dueling ring. Not here."
"I need a drink." Selena explained.
"How the hell did you make it to Sergeant if you're such a pain in the ass?" Revan asked, glaring at the woman.
"Oh, you'd rather I acted professionally?" Selena asked.
"Yes, that would be preferable."
"Alright." Selena said. "You shouldn't do any duels. You might get injured, and that would compromise the mission."
"As someone who is essentially your superior officer, it is my choice to make." Revan said, smirking slightly. "This way." she added, motioning for them to follow her, when she bumped into a young woman.
The woman said with a thick accent, "Watch where you are going, fool! Can you not see that I am one of the nobility? Now where are those drinks that I ordered?"
"Wow." Revan said, "You're one stuck up bitch. My name's Revan. I am a Jedi Knight, not one of the waiters here."
"A likely story." The woman replied, glaring at Revan.
The Knight sighed, then ignited her blue lightsaber and put the blade in the woman's face. "You know what a lightsaber is, right?"
"You could have taken one from the body of a Jedi someone else killed."
Revan shook her head, and then lifted the girl into the air. "Then explain this." the Knight growled.
The woman said, "A most compelling argument, Jedi Knight. Know that my father will hear about this."
"And you'll have him send thugs after me?" Revan asked, before walking away. "Looking forward to the warmup."
The woman glared at Revan before she left the room.
Once they entered the dueling ring, Revan said, "You can put your hands down now, Bas."
The Padawan did so, and said, "Thank goodness. It's actually quiet in here."
"Yeah." Alek said. "I'm gonna go somewhere else."
"Just don't get any drinks, Baldy." Revan said. "Maintain professionalism."
"Will do, Revan." he said, walking away.
"Oh, let him go wherever he wants." Selena grumbled.
"He's just going to the room with the dancers." Revan said, "He's as predictable as you are, Selena. You go to alcohol, he goes to strippers."
"Fair enough." Selena said. "Go sign up, Tremaine. Let's get this over with asap."
"Will do." Revan said, walking over to the hutt in the back. The Knight said, "I'm interested in competing in your dueling ring."
"Excellent. The more new blood the better. You will get ten percent of the bets made on your matches if you win. If you lose, you get nothing."
"You've got to be fucking kidding me." Revan said. "I have some experience in this business. The standard is twenty percent. Why the hell do you expect me to work for half pay?"
"Ten percent is the standard here on Taris."
"I'm not dueling for anything less than twenty."
"Then you are not dueling in my ring. Ten percent is what I pay, no more."
"That's a shame. You'd have made an enormous purse if you had a Jedi dueling in your ring. The profits of having me in the ring would vastly outweigh the loss of paying me an extra ten percent."
"A Jedi in my ring? Yes that would be quite popular. How do I know you aren't lying?"
"These." Revan said, holding up her lightsabers, and activating them. "Don't worry, I won't use them in your ring. I've got a couple of vibroblades. I know that lightsabers are illegal in most dueling rings."
"And they are in mine." the hutt replied. "Your first fight will be with Deadeye Duncan, he's our worst fighter. Consider him a practice round, Jedi. Also you will need a nickname."
Revan was silent, then said, "It'll have to show that I'm a Jedi. Do you have any ideas?"
"The Force. It will show that you are a Jedi, and make you seem to be the most powerful of your kind. One without equal."
"Sounds good to me. When do I fight Duncan?"
"One hour. I need to spread the word about you. To gather as many credits as possible to compensate for the extra that I am paying you."
"Right." Revan said, walking back to the others. "My first fight is in an hour."
"Who will you be going up against?" Bastila asked, nervously playing with her hair.
"Deadeye Duncan. Apparently he's the worst the ring has to offer. Shouldn't be too much of a challenge."
Then, she heard a man say, "So, you're going to be going into the ring, Jedi?"
"Yes." Revan said, turning around. Standing behind her was a man in yellow mandalorian armor. Instinct kicked in for the Jedi and she ignited her twin lightsabers and struck at him. He hopped backwards out of the arc of her attack, before several rounds fired from the bar's auto-turrets.
Revan deflected the volley, and said, "Mandalorian, you think some turrets will protect you?"
"I left the mandalorians long ago." he said. "They talk of honor a lot, but honor doesn't make credits."
Revan glared at him, then asked, "What do you want, bastard? Just to taunt me how one of your kind is on a Republic world while the rest of you are trying to take over?"
"No, Jedi. I came to say that you have the look of someone who will become a champion of the arena. My name is Bendak Starkiller, and I would be interested in fighting you if I am right."
"Am I supposed to have heard of you, Bendak?"
"I'm the most deadly man on Taris. I've won over three hundred battles, every one of them a death match."
"So, to get to kill you I'll have to face you in a death match. And you won't fight me until I've beaten everyone else?"
"Yes." the mandalorian replied. "But what would make a Jedi go from 'There is no emotion there is peace.' to 'Kill every mandalorian that moves.'?"
"Ever met one of your kind named Marthan?"
"No. That's an Ordo name. I was once a member of clan Gorse, before leaving the mandalorians behind."
"Great." Revan said. "Gorse Bendak, I will look forward to gutting you."
"It's Bendak Starkiller." the mandalorian replied, walking away.
"Whatever." Revan said, as she and the others sat down in one of the sets of chairs next to a wall.
Then, a minute later a woman said, "Don't think that just because Bendak talked to you that you have a chance with him. Even with your flashy lightsaber display."
"I'm not interested in him." Revan said. "I just happen to have a very personal grudge against the mandalorian people. And, until they're extinct I will hold that grudge."
"You don't stand a chance against Bendak. He's the best fighter in the galaxy."
"I've fought better. I can guarantee it." Revan said, sitting back. She sensed the woman's anger, and just before the woman managed to slap her, Revan caught it, and said, "Kid, I get it. You've got a crush on Gorse. But that doesn't change the fact that he is a dead man walking."
"You know," Selena said, "for someone who's so good at picking up on other people's romantic inclinations, you aren't very good at realizing your own."
Meetra whispered in Selena's ear, "She actually has admitted that she's in love with Bastila. She just doesn't want Bastila to know. She's worried it'll make things awkward."
Selena nodded, while the woman said, "My name's Ice. I'm looking forward to taking you out, Jedi. That way you'll realize you wouldn't stand a chance against Bendak."
"Yeah. I'm just going to go and hide in that corner over there because I'm sooo afraid of some kid who thinks she can take me out. Quit being a fangirl, and just accept the fact that no mandalorian can beat a Jedi Knight who has killed thousands of his people."
"Thousands? Yeah fucking right." Ice muttered.
"Well..." Bastila said, "it wasn't directly. But, her tactics did lead to the loss of quite a few large ships. Definitely a few thousand mandalorians died because of her."
Ice shook her head, and said, "Look forward to fighting you. If you even manage to beat Duncan."
"I could beat him with my eyes closed." Revan said.
"Yeah right." Ice said.
"I'll set up a bet." Revan said. "I fight Duncan with my eyes closed. If I win, you never hassle me about how Bendak would kick my ass ever again. If I lose, I say I was wrong."
"Fine." Ice said.
"Good." Revan replied, leaning back into her chair. "Now shoo. I want to talk with my friends without you standing there."
"Next going to fire a blaster at me and tell me to get off your lawn?" Ice asked.
"If you don't leave me alone I might." Revan said. "Albeit killing someone with a blaster is so impersonal. Cutting them up with a lightsaber is just so much more civilized and personal."
"Uhhhhhh," Ice said, starting to step away, "you are one major pyschopath." before turning and running.
"I am not." Revan said, "I am a good actress, however. People always believe me when I say the worst fucking things."
Bastila shook her head, and said, "Revan, please stop swearing."
The Knight grinned and said, "Sorry, Bas. I'll try not to."
"Wow." Selena said. "Someone is whipped." before she was lightly slapped by Meetra. "What! She totally is whipped!"
"Yes, but try to be a bit nicer. That's just being kinda bitchy."
"Relax." Revan said, "It's not a problem, Selena."
"Whoa!" Meetra said, "Who sneaked you the chill pills?"
"No one." Revan said, "I just have no reason to not be relaxed right now."
"So I can go get drunk?" Selena asked.
"No." Revan said. "Don't make me have to get serious again."
"Alright." Selena said. "So, why didn't you kill Starkiller?"
"No need to get arrested for murder when there's a more legal method of taking him out."
"Death matches were outlawed last year." Selena replied.
"Well, semi-legal. I'm less likely to get arrested."
"There's a bounty for him from the government, so you could probably get away with it."
"How do you know this much about Taris?"
"I was actually born into a noble family here. I left because my family is a bunch of fucking monsters. I still keep up with what's going on here. Hoping that my family will get assassinated."
"What's your problem with them?"
"They have a bunch of slaves who they beat. And, occasionally throw them from the top of the building they own all the way down to the Undercity. It... isn't pretty."
"Wow. They sound like horrible people." Meetra said.
"That's an understatement. But, so far, they haven't pissed off anyone powerful enough to get rid of them. Of course, with how high up the chain they are, they'd have to piss of Davik and the rest of the Exchange before they'd be taken out."
Revan nodded, and said, "I think I could arrange their assassination."
"Revan!" Bastila said, "Do you have more assassin droids?"
"Nope." Revan said, "Gonna have to start working on building HK-47 when we get back to Dantooine."
"Really? Then who would you have assassinate them?" Bastila asked.
"I'll put a bounty on their heads as an 'agent' for Davik and the Exchange. I figured I could do this since I kinda owe Jade one for trying to kill her."
"Just never do it again, and I'll consider us even." the Sergeant said.
"Got it." Revan said, turning to Bastila. "If you want, Bas, you could help me with making the next droid."
"I don't really know anything about droids."
"I can explain the stuff to you as we go." Revan said, glancing up to see a man motioning for her to come over. "Just a sec. I'm going to see what this guy wants."
"Be careful." Bastila said, "I wouldn't trust these people."
"Neither would I." Revan replied, walking towards the man.
He said, "The match is about to begin. Follow me and I'll show you the way to the arena."
"Alright. Lead the way." Revan said.
-=0=-
Inside the arena, on the far side of the room, Revan saw a man with a blaster on one hip and a sword on the other. She shook her head as she could already tell that his left eye was blind. When she heard the announcer say "Fight!" she drew her twin weapons, closed her eyes, and charged Deadeye. He tried firing three rounds at her, but they all went over her shoulder.
Once she was in range to use her swords, he threw his blaster at her, which she simply slapped to the side with the flat of her off-hand weapon, and stabbed at Duncan with her main weapon. He managed to block it, but by then her second sword was upon him, knocking him to the ground. He groaned, as he lay on the ground, almost unconscious.
The announcer shouted, "And we have a winner! But, is anyone really surprised? Deadeye losing isn't news. You'll have to do better than that to impress us, Force!"
Revan laughed, and said, "Looking forward to the next round." as she walked back to the waiting area. Inside, she was greated by Ajuur saying, "Good fight. You handled Duncan more quickly than I expected."
"Well, considering he's blind in one eye, it wasn't that hard." Revan said. "Where's my cut?"
"Right here." the hutt said, tossing her a couple hundred credits. The Knight nodded, and asked, "Who's my next opponent?"
"Ice. She's new to the ring, but has a lot of talent. Next round will be in twenty minutes."
"Got it." Revan said, walking over to her companions.
"Damn, Revan." Meetra said, "You took that guy out fast."
"He's blind in one eye. Couldn't aim straight to save his life."
"Who are you going to fight next?"
"That crazy woman who was insisting that Starkiller will gut me." Revan said, sitting down. "Where's Jade?"
"Went to get some drinks." Meetra said, then added, "Non-alcoholic, Rev." when she saw the look of irritation on the other Jedi's face.
"Good."
Bastila asked, "Are you okay, Rev. You're sweating?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine." The Knight lied, despite feeling like she was about to pass out
"You sure, Rev?" Bastila asked, placing a hand on the older woman's forehead, "You're burning up."
"I'll be fine, Bas. These chumps couldn't beat me on my worst day."
"I'm more worried that you'll push yourself too hard and end up hurting yourself." Bastila said, looking at Meetra. "Go get a doctor. Rev's running way too hot. At least a hundred and twelve degrees."
"I'll be fine." Revan said, despite the feeling of exhaustion growing stronger.
"You are not fine, Rev." Bastila said, "You've got an incredibly dangerous fever."
The Knight shook her head, and stubbornly said, "I'm fine."
"What's the matter?" Jade asked, as she walked up and saw Meetra running out of the room.
Bastila reached out and grabbed one of the glasses of ice water Jade was carrying, and said, "Revan's got a fever. If we don't get her temperature down soon, it may be fatal." before saying, "Drink this, Rev."
The Knight complied, and said, "Okay, any other orders, Doc?" with a slight smirk.
Bastila shook her head as she took another glass from Selena, and said, "Drink this one too." before taking off the belt around the outermost layer of her robes and soaking it in the ice-cold water. "Go get more water." the Padawan ordered, as she wrapped the belt around Revan's forehead.
Selena nodded, then Revan said, "You may be right, Bas. I might not be feeling too good." Before falling face-first into the Padawan's lap.
Bastila shook her head, and asked, "How long have you been feeling this bad, Rev? You don't have to hide when you're not at a hundred percent."
The only reply that came from Revan was the soft sound of her snoring slightly. Bastila sighed, and patted the Knight's head.
-=0=-
Meetra sprinted into Zelka's clinic, and said, "Who runs this place? I've got a friend who needs help asap."
A tall, balding man with dark skin walked up to her, and asked, "What is the problem?"
"She's running a deadly hot fever. From what we were able to tell, at least a hundred and twelve."
"Where is she?" Zelka asked.
"At the Dark Star. In the dueling ring waiting area."
"Bring her here. That isn't a good area to work."
"Got it." Meetra said, pulling out her datapad. "She's with another friend. Hopefully she's still conscious."
-=0=-
Bastila heard her datapad beep, and saw a message from Meetra that said, "You need to get Rev to the doctor's office."
Bastila tried to pick the Knight up, but Revan wouldn't budge.
-=0=-
"Great." Meetra said as she put away her datapad. "Apparently she's not going to move, despite being out cold."
"Then we'll have to make do at the bar." Zelka said, gathering his medical supplies. "Lead the way."
"Got it." Meetra said, heading to the door.
-=0=-
Bastila sighed as she ran a hand along Revan's back. 'You would have to be so stubborn as to ignore a dangerous fever. What were you thinking. That you would just get over it? Bloody fool.' a few minutes later Meetra walked in along with Zelka.
The Jedi chuckled, while the doctor moved Revan off of Bastila's lap and onto the ground. After doing a quick scan he said, "Her temperature has gone down from one hundred and twelve. But, not enough. She's still at a hundred and nine degrees. We need to bring her below one hundred as quickly as possible."
"Is it possible that she's been poisoned?" Selena asked.
"I'm checking for that now. You almost never get that hot naturally." Zelka said. A few moments later he said, "I'm not detecting any poisons in her system. I'm going to have to see if this serum will help her." as he pulled out a needle, and stabbed it into Revan's arm.
They watched in silence for a few moments, then he said, "Her temperature has not gone down."
"Do you have any other treatments?" Bastila asked.
"I have a couple of things I could try." he said, pulling out another needle. Just as he was about to put it in Revan's arm, Bastila asked,
"What is in that?"
"It's just a kolto injection." he replied.
"Rev is allergic to kolto. That could kill her." Bastila said.
"Allergic to kolto? Well, I'll have to check her system for kolto. Why didn't you say that she was allergic in the first place!" Zelka asked.
"I didn't think it was relevant."
"It may well be what is causing her fever." Zelka said, changing a few settings on his scanner. "Indeed. Did she drink anything recently?"
"Just some water after we noticed her fever."
"And before that?"
Bastila shook her head, then said, "I don't think there was anything else."
"Well, we're going to have to flush her stomach." Zelka said, "Because there is definitely kolto there. I am going to need a large bowl."
"I've already got one." Selena said. "In case she started vomiting."
"Good." Zelka said. "I'm going to need some space to work. You three should go somewhere else."
-=0=-
Meetra, Bastila, and Selena walked into a small room in the back of the bar, and Bastila asked, "Who would have known about Rev's kolto allergy? She didn't tell really tell people about it."
"Uh... about that..." Selena said, "this is actually... kinda... my fault. But I swear I didn't know Tremaine was allergic!"
"What did you do?" Bastila and Meetra asked, reaching for their weapons.
"I had some kolto put in your food before we left the ship. Thought that it would help you guys recover from the battle!" Selena said. "If I'd known Revan was allergic I wouldn't have had it put in her food! I swear!"
Bastila sighed, and said, "Alright. If you ever do this again. What Revan did earlier will be considered a walk in the park compared to what I will do to you, are we clear?"
"Uhm, yes. When'd you turn so scary, Shan?" Jade asked.
"When you put the life of the person I am psychically bonded to in danger. If she dies, the shock of our bond severing may kill me as well."
"Oh shit." Selena said. "I didn't know. It won't happen again."
"Good." Bastila said.
-=0=-
Revan blinked her eyes open,to see Zelka standing over her with a scanner. "Next time, Jedi. Be a bit more careful with what you eat. Make sure it doesn't have kolto in it."
"Will do, Doc." Revan said.
"And do get something to eat soon. I had to empty your stomach to keep the allergic reaction from killing you."
"Got it." Revan said, walking into the main area of the bar, and ordering a burger. She walked towards the room where the others were. Inside, she said, "Thanks for noticing that I was feeling under the weather, Bas. I thought it was nothing."
The Padawan laughed softly, and said, "Rev, next time don't try to hide it if you aren't feeling well. You can trust us."
"Will do." Revan replied, sitting down beside Bastila. "I don't know what I'd do without you, Bas."
"I think the obvious answer is die." Bastila said, with a smirk.
"Well played." Revan said, smiling at her.
"Awww, that's so cute." Meetra said to Selena. "Look at them. Don't you think they'd make the most adorable couple?"
"Meetra..." Revan said, trying to sound irritated, but it only came out as tired.
"I know I know. Don't talk about you like you are capable of having a romantic relationship. Your only goal in life is making the mandalorians pay. And you would like to die in the process." Meetra said, laughing.
"Well, dying in the process isn't really an option any more." Revan said, "Before it would just have affected me. Now it would hurt Bastila too. And, I'd feel like a pretty shitty person if I hurt her."
Meetra and Selena both laughed, while Revan shook her head, and said, "You two could drive a woman to drink."
"You wouldn't drink." Meetra said. "You hate the taste."
Revan nodded, and said, "But dealing with you guys too long could drive someone to drink to forget."
"Revan, no." Bastila said.
"Well, it appears that Bastila thinks she runs my life." Revan said, smirking slightly. "Is it always like this when you have a Force Bond with someone?"
"Nope." Meetra said. "I think she's just bossy."
"Great." Revan sighed.
"There there, Rev. It's not like you have to listen to her." Meetra said.
The Knight smirked, and said, "You try ignoring someone who can talk inside your head."
"It's really easy." Meetra said. "I do it all the time. The voices have learned to just keep quiet."
"We all know that you don't have any voices in your head, Meetra." Revan said. "You aren't crazy."
"You don't really believe that." Meetra said. "You know I am completely batshit crazy."
"Irritating, yes. Crazy, no." Revan said.
-=0=-
Bendak chuckled, and said, "The Jedi is quite the showoff. Inform Mandalore that her extermination in the arena may be more difficult than anticipated."
"Why, Bendak?" Ice asked.
"I have only once before seen someone as strong as she." Bendak said.
"She may have beaten Duncan with her eyes closed, but anyone could."
"That is not why she is so powerful." Bendak said, shaking his head.
"Then why, Bendak?"
"Because, she did so while barely alive. You saw what Zelka had to do in order to prevent her demise."
"If we can't take her out directly, then how do we?"
Bendak chuckled, and said, "I said it would be more difficult than I anticipated, not that I would have to change my plans."
"Shouldn't you have a plan B, Bendak? In case she somehow manages to get the best of you?"
"I already do." Bendak said, "If it becomes clear that I am going to fall, the bombs I have set up underneath the arena will detonate. Killing her."
"Wouldn't it be simpler to just use those to kill her?"
"Yes, but there is no honor and glory in such methods. They are a last resort, to make sure that it is known that no one escapes Bendak Starkiller in the arena."
"Indeed." Ice said. "I should go, Bendak. My duel with her is soon."
"Go then, Ice. Perhaps you can break her with what I have taught you."
"I will do my best, Bendak." she said, heading towards the arena.
-=0=-
As Revan finished her burger, she asked, "Bas, could you keep an eye on my lightsabers while I'm in the ring?"
"Of course." Bastila said.
"Don't trust me to not mess with 'em?" Meetra asked.
"I don't trust you to not use them inappropriately." Revan replied, laughing.
"Ouch. But you trust Bastila to not misuse them?"
"Yes. Because, despite the age difference. She's more of an adult than you are, Meetra." Revan said, with a huge smile on her face.
Meetra lightly slapped Revan's arm, and said, "Yeah right. I can be serious when the situation calls for it."
"True." Revan said, "It's just you almost never think that the situation does call for it."
"What can I say, I like to live a carefree life."
"I know." Revan sighed, "Anyways, I should go and see when my fight with Ice is. Just have it out of the way asap."
"Have fun!" Meetra said, waving. "We'll be in here."
"I'll try to." Revan said. "But, she could end up being enough of a challenge that I actually have to try while we're fighting."
"Oh please, you killed all those mandalorian bastards on Cathar without a problem! Surely one random chick on Taris won't be enough to give you a run for your money, right, Rev?" Meetra asked.
"Never underestimate your enemy." Revan replied, walking out of the room.
Bastila said, "I never have understood how you and Revan get along so well."
"We both know that what we're doing is just teasing." Meetra said. "And, even when I say shit about her wanting to fuck you senseless, she gets that it's just a joke."
Bastila blushed, and said, "That isn't appropriate. For one thing, that would be illegal."
"Eh, Rev would wait 'til you're legal if she did want to." Meetra replied.
"Though she is painfully obvious about it." Selena said. "Wouldn't be surprised if Mandalore himself would see how she acts towards you for ten seconds, and try to take you out to get to her."
"I still think you people are looking way too deeply into this."
"Feel free to live peacefully in ignorance, Bastila." Meetra said, "Force knows it's a hell of a lot better than living knowing how fucking fragile this galaxy is."
Bastila sighed, and said, "Could you please stop swearing so much? It just makes you sound stupid."
"Ouch." Meetra said. "And no. Unlike Rev, I am not in love with you. So, I won't change how I talk just because it bothers you."
"Don't you think that if it bothers me, that would bother Rev. If, what you say is true?" Bastila asked.
"Kid has a point." Selena said.
"Selena, who's side are you on?" Meetra asked.
"Yours, Meetra. I was just saying the kid had a good point."
"Alright. Alright." Meetra said, sighing. "Truth is, I don't care if you being bugged bothers Revan, Bastila. No offense, but I'm not going to change the way I talk just because it bothers you. And may bother Revan by bothering you. I'm sorry, but that isn't how I work. I don't change to make other people's not-girlfriends happy."
"Then perhaps you'd consider doing it as a favor for a friend?"
"That's a pretty big favor, Bastila. And, all you've done for me is prove that Revan can love someone as more than a sister. And, that it was me in particular that she couldn't."
"I-I have done no such thing! Revan does not love me! Es-especially not like-like that!" Bastila said.
Meetra laughed, and said, "Sure she does."
Bastila just shook her head, and said, "Enough, Meetra. I'm not going to play your game any longer. You are just trying to get a rise out of me."
"And it worked." Meetra said, as she continued to laugh.
