Sora opened his eyes quickly, feeling like he hadn't opened them for centuries to see he was standing in a station awakening, his station awakening. The keyblader noticed something was off about the stained glass however, and noticed that over his image, was the transparent figure of Xehanort.
Before Sora could even call out his name, Xehanort appeared in front of him, in his armor, resting on one knee. "No!" Xehanort yelled, obviously in pain.
Sora glared at the old man, he has been waiting for this moment ever since he was turned into a lingering will. Holding his hand out, Sora summoned his keyblade, pointing it at the man instantly. "You…" He growled.
When Xehanort stood up, he looked over to Sora and snorted, "Why, you are ready to fight me so soon? That's strange, not too long ago you let me take your will away from you with you thinking I would end your life."
"That was only because I thought Kairi was dead," Sora replied, balling his fists together. "You tortured her, and I am not going to let you get away with doing that."
Xehanort chuckled. "So what is this about, Sora? Revenge? You've never seemed like one who would kill just for the sake of revenge."
Sora looked down at the ground for a moment before looking back up at Xehanort, light flashing in his eyes. "This is not about revenge, it is about avenging lives that you ruined: whether it be Kairi, the other worlds, or even Vanitas, who proved to us that he has redeemed himself. You can come back as many times as you want, destroy as many world, even my home, and take away countless lives, but as long as the light still lives on, it will make sure to avenge those lives ruined by darkness like you."
"A meaningless effort," Xehanort summoned his keyblade, "I am not going to let you claim your body back, if that happens, everything I worked for will be destroyed." He paused for a short moment, as if he was debating whether or not to reveal certain information, but he admitted it anyway. "The worlds I destroyed in my return, they will come back, Chaos will have no way of returning to this realm, and we will not rule over the worlds. That is not going to happen."
"We'll just see about that," Sora claimed as he summoned his keyblade, staring right at the man. "I am not going to let you ruin the generations after this, now" he found himself yelling now, "Get out of my body!"
(L'Impeto Oscuro – Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance) And before another word could be said, Sora charged at Xehanort, his keyblade looking as if it was already ready to impale Xehanort and end him. The Dark One noticed this right away though, and as soon as Sora made it over to him, Xehanort jumped into the air over Sora, avoiding the teenager's potential blow. Sora was not about to back down that easily and quickly spun around, making his and Xehanort's keyblades meeting each other. Sora quickly pushed Xehanort away, making the old man stumble backwards but he found his balance quickly before Sora could come in and attack him again. Sora was about to go and attack Xehanort again, but before he could, Xehanort teleported away and appeared on the other side of the station awakening, wiping off his shoulders.
"I admit, you have a fair reason to fight now, however," Xehanort brought his hand out, allowing it to be covered in a pitch black darkness; "I will not let you take control of this body again!" The old man then teleported again, this time directly behind Xehanort, but before Sora could react, Xehanort brought his hand covered in darkness forward, creating a wave of darkness that sent Sora flying backwards. Breathing heavily, Sora quickly got back up and looked over, seeing just how close to the edge of the station he was, before he looked back over to Xehanort. The old man was pacing patiently on the other side of the station, waiting for Sora to make his move. The keyblader knew for sure that Xehanort was taunting him at this moment, and quickly reacted to this by running over to the old man. When the two collided, their keyblades met and their faces were near each other once more.
"You're just lucky that you gave your precious princess time to run off," Xehanort growled, "If I was in control of this body, she would be suffering more than she ever has before." Glaring at Xehanort angrily, Sora brought his keyblade forward to push Xehanort away slightly, before he fired a blast of light at the Dark One.
"You will never touch her again!" He yelled, charging at Xehanort once more, his anger towards the old man driving him through the roof. When Sora made it over to the old man again, Xehanort disappear in thin air, Sora's keyblade cutting right through the fake Xehanort and it dissolved in an instant. Sora looked around the station, not seeing the man anywhere in sight, until he looked up, and go figure, in the air was Xehanort, floating above him with his arms out to his side, as if he was asking Sora to come and attack him at any given time, knowing that he would be prepared for the teenager's attack. Growling under his breath at the man's taunt, Sora jumped into the air, flying at full speed towards Xehanort before the two finally met. They had a heated battle as they floated into the air, Sora getting several combos on Xehanort as well as Xehanort getting several combos on Sora, but it eventually ended when Xehanort fired a blast of darkness at Sora, forcing the teen to fall back down to the ground to avoid the attack.
When Sora had landed back on the ground, he looked up, seeing that Xehanort was no longer in the air once again. The keyblade wielder, unfortunately, did not notice when Xehanort had come up from behind him and hit the teen directly in the back, making Sora stumble forward onto the ground. Knowing that he had to act fast, Sora rolled onto his back and looked up only to see Xehanort's keyblade inches away from impaling him. Sora's eyes widened as he moved out of the way just in time, rolling over on his right side away from Xehanort. Sora brought out his keyblade as soon as he knew he was away from the man, and in an act of desperation, threw it at Xehanort. Thankfully, Sora's attack proved to be successful when it hit Xehanort dead on, making him fall onto the ground, and, like a boomerang, Sora's keyblade came flying back to him and landed in his hand right when he stood back up.
Xehanort, who had recovered from Sora's attack, was now standing back up, wiping his mouth from the blood that was now dripping down the side of his lip. Knowing that he had pissed Sora off a little too much, Xehanort knew that he had to try and wear the keyblader down now, if he wanted to have a chance of winning this battle. Acting fast, the Dark One raised his hands, causing darkness to rise around him and surround him in a circle formation. Xehanort began to rise into the air as this happened, glowing with darkness, then, unsummoning his keyblade for the moment, used his hands to signal where the darkness was to travel to, all of which went to Sora. The keyblade master managed to dodge roll and aerially dodge most of the attacks Xehanort threw at him, but the last one he was not so lucky and the darkness hit him dead on, sending the keyblader flying into the air.
When Sora had finally thought he was going to land back on the ground, he noticed too late that he just barely missed his station awakening, and he began to fall into the dark abyss of his heart. Knowing he had to save himself, Sora brought out his keyblade, did an aerial recovery, and stabbed his keyblade into the side of the station, breaking his fall. However, when he did this, the keyblader felt a sharp pain in his chest, directly where his heart was, and almost let go of his keyblade it was so painful. Sora knew that by digging his keyblade into the side of the station awakening, he was damaging his own heart, but he knew that if he didn't do that, he would have been dead. Sora knew that it was better to have his heart damaged than broken and lost forever, so to prevent the damage from getting worse, h summoned his keyblade rider and rode back up to the top of the station, and once he was over it, unsummoned it and brought his keyblade back into his hands.
When Xehanort saw that Sora had survived the fall, he cursed at the teen out loud and ran directly to him, and as soon as they were near each other, their keyblades began to clash. The two both blocked and tried to preform many attacks, but each one did not succeed with hitting the enemy. At the one point Sora had lost his focus, for a brief second, Xehanort had noticed it right away, and quickly brought his keyblade up, hitting Sora's and knocking it out of the teen's hand. "I did not come this far to lose to you!" Xehanort yelled as he grabbed Sora by the wrist before the teen could summon the keyblade again, and spun him around, holding Sora in a position so that he could not summon his keyblade and the Xehanort's keyblade was against his neck. "Any last words?" Xehanort asked.
Sora did not say anything at first, and only struggled in Xehanort's grip. But then, after several moments of silence, the teen retorted, "I will not let you win!" And, before Xehanort even had time to react, Sora had brought his leg back and kicked Xehanort right in the knee, making the old man yelp in pain and gave Sora just enough time to wiggle out of the grip and summon his keyblade back to his hand. Then, acting before Xehanort once again, the teen struck Xehanort with his keyblade multiple times, not even giving the old man time to breathe before he struck him with his keyblade so many times that the old man lied on the floor without moving.
For a brief moment, Xehanort did not move, which made Sora back away from him, thinking it was over, but slowly, Xehanort began to rise once again. Before Sora could even attempt to move in and finish Xehanort off, the old man quickly summoned his keyblade and stabbed it into the station awakening, making Sora yelp in pain and fall onto his knees, gripping his chest. "I did not want it to come to this, Sora," Xehanort spoke weakly, "But you have given me no choice, I am going to have to kill both of us to get you out of the way."
Xehanort impaled his keyblade into the stained glass again, followed by Sora yelling in pain now. As Xehanort rose his keyblade for a third time and stabbed it into the station, he silently prayed to Cosmos that something would help him. But before Xehanort or Sora could make another move…
Sora, now!
The voice echoed in the station awakening. It was Kairi's voice, and immediately, Sora felt his strength return to him as soon as he heard her. Sora had not noticed that he began to glow in a golden light, just like he had when he had faced Xehanort in the Keyblade War a little bit over a year ago. The teen knew what happened, Kairi helped him, he did not know how she managed to get light into his body, but it helped him, and he knew he was going to win. And with this strength, Sora brought his keyblade up and ran to Xehanort, who was just about to impale his keyblade into the station again, not even worrying about Kairi's voice. (End L'Impeto Oscuro)
Xehanort had realized too late that Sora had come back up to attack him, and the last thing he saw was Sora's light form bring his keyblade into his chest…
…
After several seconds with no movement from the body, Kairi finally made the brave decision to go over to Sora's body, still unsure of which will was in control at that moment. She saw a white light come out of the body and then disappear, so she figured that whoever's will it was got destroyed. The only problem was Kairi was not sure which will was destroyed.
Right when Kairi was about to bend down to the body, she heard a low groan of pain come from him, and quickly backed away several large steps. In the blink of an eye, the princess summoned her keyblade to protect herself if Xehanort was the one in control.
The princess could only watch as Sora's body slowly rose from the ground, struggling to stand on both legs but eventually succeeded. The back was turned to Kairi, so the princess could not tell if it was Sora or Xehanort in control at this moment, but she was not going to take any chances and unsummon her keyblade.
After several moments of suspense, he finally turned around, his deep blue eyes finally being seen again after what seemed like forever.
As soon as Kairi saw the eyes, her keyblade dropped from her hand, hitting the ground so hard that it unsummoned itself. Taking her hand and placing it over her mouth, she only watched him, still doubting that it was really him.
Sora huffed a laugh as he looked at his beloved. "Kairi," Sora smiled as he spoke for the first time in his own body in a while, "It's me."
Kairi did not move however, which Sora could understand. Instead, Sora moved to her, and as soon as they were close enough to each other, he took her hands in his. Kairi could only look up at Sora, not believing that this was happening, that he finally had gotten his body back.
But it took close up look into Sora's blue eyes that finally proved to her this was real.
Letting a single tear of joy fall from her eye, Kairi laughed. "It is you," she said happily.
Sora smiled back at her as he began to run his fingers through her hair, so happy to be back in her arms in his own body again. When the two made eye contact again, they did not stop themselves when they slowly leaned towards each other. And it didn't take long for their lips to finally meet, the two kissing each other so passionately that you would have thought they haven't seen each other for fifteen years.
When the two finally stopped kissing, Sora made the shocking realization. "The Door to Darkness!" He yelled.
Kairi's eyes widened before the two looked at the Door to Darkness, summoning their keyblades, but as soon as their eyes made contact with it, all they saw was a wall of fire that made them fly back several feet.
Once he had hit the ground, Sora could not focus his eye sight on anything there was so much smoke surrounding the area. He wanted to call out to Kairi, to make sure she was alright, but there was so much smoke he couldn't even take in a breath let alone speak. He tried to keep his eyes open, but all he saw was smoke and the blurry orange flames that were not too far away from him.
Sora soon realized that the smoke was not going to clear up unless he did something, so the keyblader kept his eyes open for as long as he could. When he looked out in front of him, he saw the faint outline of his keyblade, which is just what he needed and quickly crawled for it, having enough strength to stand up, but not wanting to risk standing up into flames.
When Sora had finally made it to his keyblade, he reached his hand out to grab it, but before he could, Kingdom Key was stepped on by a yellow foot that kept his keyblade under it firmly. Sora looked down at the ground, knowing what had happened and only prayed that it was just a dream, but it was far from it.
Sora looked right up to see Chaos's red eyes glaring back at him.
Eh, this chapter was not one of my favorites, don't know why, but I hope you guys enjoyed it.
And to clear up some confusion, if there was any, when Kairi fired the blast of light at Sora-Xehanort in the last chapter, that is how Sora went all light form on us. Oh and Xehanort is dead, and he should be staying dead now :D
But there is a bigger problem then Xehanort right now. You know what that means? Yup, the final boss is up next!
Oh, and for all you that are interested in my opinion, I fluffing loved Agents of Shield. I don't know why, but a lot of people said they hated it, and I can't figure out why. Besides, even though it wasn't perfect, it was just a pilot... Gezz people.
So hopefully the next chapter should be out sooner then this one. I am actually really excited that this story is almost over since I started it a little bit less then a year ago. I kind of just want to get it done. The chapter after the next one and the chapter after that have a good chunk of them finished, but the next one I have just barely started. Hopefully though, it will be released soon.
So please R&R and look out for the next chapter: SORA AND KAIRI VS. CHAOS! THE HYPE IS REAL!
