(Prince of Darkness [Avengers Remix] – City of the Fallen)
"You are a Guardian, Roxas."
Aerith's sentence was short, but it had much meaning. Roxas turned his head to face her, but shortly afterwards went back to what he was doing before. "That's impossible," he replied, "All the Guardians of Light are dead, Xehanort and his lackeys killed them all two years ago, there aren't any left."
"You're wrong;" she said strongly, "Kingdom Hearts chose new Guardians of Light to finish what the fallen ones started."
Roxas rolled his eyes, "Okay, maybe you're right, but I am no guardian, I'm just the nobody of a former Guardian. Besides, you need a heart to be a Guardian, and in case you haven't noticed, I don't have one."
"Are you so sure?"
"Positive."
Aerith placed her finger on her chin, "Have you even bothered to check if you had one?"
"No," he replied.
"Why?"
"Because nobodies don't have hearts," Roxas retorted, "We are just the empty shell of people that had hearts."
"Why don't you check then?" Aerith continued to push.
"For heaven's sake Aerith," Roxas was getting frustrated now and, to get her to shut up, began to slide his hand under his shirt so he could prove to Aerith he had no heart. "What is it going to take for you to—"
Roxas froze when he felt the sudden bump against his hand that was coming from inside his chest. His eyes widened and for a moment he believed he was crazy, but the continuous beating went on in his chest.
Roxas then looked to Aerith, figuring that she had the answers, but instead she only replied with a single statement:
"Welcome to the Guardians."
TWI1IGHTMAST3R Presents…
"So let me get this straight," Roxas looked around the hidden base, full of monitors and people working at them. "You guys, the Restoration Committee, are secretly trying to find the new Guardians of Light in an attempt to overthrow Xehanort?"
Aerith turned to Roxas. "That's about right," she replied, "The worlds have been in chaos ever since Xehanort won the battle against the Lights; we want that to change. By gathering the new Guardians of Light, we actually might have a chance of getting rid of him for good."
Yuffie placed her hands behind her back before asking, "Thinking about joining us yet?"
Roxas snorted, "I am thinking you guys are insane, if you want to know what I'm thinking."
An Upcoming Kingdom Hearts Fanfiction…
"Leon, we got a hit!" Cid yelled as he looked back down at the monitor. Immediately, Leon speed walked over to him, quickly followed by Yuffie, Aerith and, figuring he had nothing else better to do, Roxas.
"What's up?" Yuffie asked, he four of them hovering over Cid as he showed the screen on his monitor.
"Xehanort just sent a huge group of his soldiers out of the world," Cid explained, "Looks like he has one of his surviving members of his new organization leading them."
"If that's not a sign that he found one of the Guardians I don't know what is," Aerith said calmly.
"Where are they headed?" Leon asked.
Cid smirked. "They're actually going to a place Blondie probably recognizes," he said.
"What do you mean?" Roxas asked, ignoring the nickname Cid came up for him.
Cid huffed out a laugh before saying, "They're headed to Twilight Town."
…
"Roxas?"
Hearing his name, Roxas looked down at the person they suspected to be a guardian with a puzzled look on his face. "How do you know my name?"
The hooded girl sighed. "I know this might sound crazy, but you and I know each other," she replied.
"What are you talking about?" He asked her again.
"I know you don't remember me, no one does, alright? But we were friends," she continued, "Here, just look."
Once the words had left her mouth, the hooded girl put her hands on her hood and she pulled it off her face, revealing it to the world. Her short black hair fell out of the hood naturally, and her blue eyes immediately found Roxas's.
Roxas tilted his head upon seeing her face. "Who are you?" He asked.
The girl's eyes looked away from his as if this question hurt her, but she quickly looked back up. "My name is Xion."
…
"So what do we do next?" Roxas asked.
"Well it depends," Yuffie said, "We gotta watch for Xehanort's lead mainly. If we see him sending out a group like that again, we follow right behind him."
"So you guys have no idea who the other Guardians could be?" Roxas asked.
There was a long pause between the group before Aerith finally replied, "No, but we do have some ideas of they could be."
"Like who?" Roxas asked.
"Well the one most obvious is someone you know, actually," Yuffie crossed her arms.
Roxas's expression begged for them to continue, so they did, Aerith being the one to answer. "Look at it this way, Sora is—was your somebody, so you got his keyblade, right?"
Roxas nodded.
"Well, Kairi had a keyblade, so it would only make logical sense for her nobody to have one too."
Roxas gaped at the realization. "Wait, so you are saying that she…?"
"Yes, while we have no idea where she is, Namine could very well have a keyblade right now."
…
"I am sure that many of you know that Kingdom Hearts has chosen knew Guardians of Light in an attempt to overthrow me."
Xehanort stood on the stage boldly as he spoke, almost as if he was gloating to all these people like no one could touch him.
"Well I will be the first to tell you that these 'Guardians' are not going to be able to overthrow me, simply because if the old Guardians couldn't do it, they most certainly cannot."
Roxas wanted to run up to the stage and kill Xehanort himself as he continued to hide in the shadows of the audience, but Xion grasped his shoulder to stop him.
"But, in the case that these Guardians do begin to threaten me, I am afraid that will leave all of you dire consequences."
Xehanort motioned his arm to the side, holding it out as if someone was coming out from behind the stage. Just as he had motioned for, two of his soldiers came out carrying a small moogle that looked like it had taken a beating before it came out on stage.
The two soldiers placed the moogle in front of Xehanort before the Dark Lord continued. "These creatures are what supplies you with food and other daily needs, correct?"
The moogle, which was too weak to move at the moment, didn't even notice Xehanort rise his keyblade above him.
"Let him be an example of what will happen to you."
Xehanort brought his keyblade down quickly.
…
"Xehanort is killing innocent people because of us…" Roxas said quietly, "It'll only be a matter of time before he kills someone close to us."
Xion looked down before she replied to Roxas saying, "I know, but if we do stop, everyone would just be dead in a matter of years anyway. Rather have a few causalities then lose everyone."
"I know, but you can't help but feel guilty for the deaths happening now," Roxas replied.
"Eventually everyone dies," Xion continued, "Death is mankind's biggest fear, but no one deserves to die when they still have a life ahead of them."
…
"Revenge is a dangerous thing Roxas," Xehanort told him, "Ending my life will only turn you into a monster."
Roxas stared down at Kingdom Key that glimmered in his hand. "I am not looking for revenge," he said, "I am looking to avenge the lives you took away, the lives you ruined. And nothing is going to stop me!"
Xehanort chuckled. "Well then, let us end this, shall we?"
Our Heroes Fall
Somewhere deep in a dark cell of the castle in Radiant Garden, two hands intertwined in hope that their suffering would finally come to an end.
Plot Twist: Had two huge tests to study for so I couldn't update again -_-
Here you go guys: a preview to my next project I am going to be working on.
Now before any of you ask, no, this is not part of the Reconnect Series at all, it's a stand alone. I have had this idea for awhile so I am excited to get it out and see what you guys think.
Now the summary of this story goes as follows: It has been two years since Xehanort won the battle against the Guardians of Light, each of the heroes killed by him and his Organization. With the X-Blade in hand, Xehanort has ruled over all the worlds for those two years, making each world suffer in his rule. However, in an attempt to stop Xehanort, the light from Kingdom Hearts choses seven new Guardians of Light that are destined to stop Xehanort's rule and end him for good. Roxas is one of these new Guardians, and let's just say he never thought he would ever be one...
So now I am sure you guys are wondering where I got the idea for this story, and I will tell you it spawned from two different things: 1) out of everyone I need work on, writing team based stories is probably #1 and I feel like I need to work on that and 2) Eventually, I would love to write fanifics about Rise of the Guardians and the Avengers, which are both heavily team based. I want to almost practice by releasing this to prepare me to write stories based off those fandoms.
Also, this story is probably going to be dark, but not as dark as Kairi's torture in this story, that was even to dark for me. There is character death though, and you will have to use your imaginations since KH3 isn't out yet, but you should get the memo.
Next up: The acknowledgements! So please R&R and look out for it!
