I made a disgusted face at the goo also known as whatever remained of the Italian.
Damiano, was that his name? Whatever, it doesn't matter now. He's not alive anymore.
I shuddered at the thought. He actually died twice. In a way, Sebastian killed him. Well, indirectly, Ciel killed him, because he ordered Sebastian to show him hospitality of Phantomhives.
"How can they do it twice, and not feel a single thing?" I thought aloud, remembering their stoic reaction to this event.
"It's because I'm a demon. I kill".
"*Gasp* Oh god! You scared me," I exclaimed, clutching my heart in the process. And the reaction that I got, made me want to shove a chair up his face. Sebastian still had the nerve to smile, while I was fuming. Therefore, I glared at him, hoping that he would get the hint and treat me with more respect frow now on - as in, not creeping up to me and suddenly voicing out.
However, his next question had me totally stunned.
"You still believe in God?"
Ignoring my lack of reply, he continued, "Well, as for Master, he has grown tired of people who underestimate him. So you would understand why he is comfortable with ordering the killing of Mr. Damiano, twice".
"Wha-" The first syllable came out from my throat, but I realised the demon was nowhere to be found.
I ended up avoiding the master and demon butler the whole day, guilt still heavy in my heart.
Well, almost the whole day.
"Miss Christina, the young master is calling for you".
No reply.
"Miss Christina, Miss Christina, Miss Chri-"
Finny stopped short as I whipped my head around to face him, my long brown locks hitting him in the face.
"Huh?" I snapped out of my reverie, as I casted an apologetic look at the young boy.
Pfft! He spitted out some hair before answering with a stuttered "Y-young m-master ... c-ca-calling".
"Oh yes. The young master!" Finny jumped at my outburst. "Oh sorry. I'd better go see him now," I apologised before taking heavy steps to prolong the time before I have to face him, and possibly Sebastian in his study.
"Yes, my lord. You called?" I tried to avoid making eye contact with any of them but the scene that displayed in front of me was shocking.
The butler, demon, Sebastian was smiing. Like him, Ciel was too.
Smiling, eh?
I smiled too, but added a question with a confused tone, "So... What're we smiling for?"
"Miss Christina. I'd like you to accompany me for a trip. You too, Sebastian".
"Yes, my lord," came the reply from the butler, with him down on one knee, head bowed and right hand over where his heart should be.
Wait, do demons have hearts? I chuckled at the thought.
Sebastian looked at me quizzically, then I realised. Oh.
I imitated his actions, and replied, "Err... Yes, my lord".
Clap! Clap!
"Hahahaha! Pfft! Hahahaha!" That was the first time I've heard Ciel laugh like that.
Still laughing and clutching onto his stomach, an order "You're dismissed" was given.
Ooo... k-kay... What is going on?
"Lemonade?" Sebastian offered me the yellow drink in a glass.
Boy! Just when I was feeling thirsty. "Sure, thanks", I accepted it hastily and downed the yellow liquid in a quick succession of gulps.
After drying the glass of any drop of lemonade (how can a simple drink be so tasty?), a question came into my mind.
"Sebastian, where did you get the lemonade, complete with a glass? I didn't see you bringing anything when we set off earlier. And, I got only a wink as an answer.
"We're here," he announced shortly after.
I was amazed by the scene in front of me. A little further from our raft, tucked away in oblivion was an island so beautiful that my eyes began to sparkle. (What am I saying? But it's really beautiful)
"Since you already have colour back to your face, I suppose you are satisfied and have forgiven us?" the earl spoke up.
"Shut up and let me enjoy this moment. You can ruin it later," I retorted.
I shut my eyes, but I can still feel Ciel's glare on me. Why wouldn't he? After all, I had spoken to him as though I am not afraid of the Watchdog.
"I hated the thought of going through the days for a second time but," Ciel paused as though trying to find the right words, "it seems like it could be fun".
Yup... It seems.
Splash! The raft overturned, thrusting me into the water.
I immediately opened my eyes, just to have myself struggle in water.
Oh no! I can't swim. I panicked, kicking and clawing at nothing but water. A black figure was nearing me, just as I was passing out because of lack of oxygen.
"Sa-" I wanted to call out to anyone, especially the black figure, to save the drowning me but only bubbles came out from my mouth.
Just as the figure was right in front of me, it swam upwards, leaving me closed in by darkness with no hope.
